Lovely hotel, pleasant and efficient staff. 9 of us stayed over Christmas and had a great time. Would highly recommend as Hotel was full and they coped really well. Only Critisism would be the Boutique near reception only opened in the mornings.

Hotel was situated in a good area, not too close, not too far from town. Room could do with detail clean, varander chairs etc but not too bad. ccould have done with tea/coffee in room, also iron.But very confortable and generally clean. food Excellent.

Hotel was close to bars, shops and restaurants. 5 minute walk to the beach. Hotel was claen and picturesque. Lots to do in hotel if you planned to and staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel was also quiet enough at the night and evening. Would definitely return with or without my family.

We had a few issues checking in-the receptionist gave us a room which already had guests in-I dont know who was more shocked them or us when we walked in! There were 2 rooms on our booking but he didnt put us near each other either. A manager did sort the problems out and upgraded 1 room to a suite.

Lovely hotel with polite friendly staff close to beach with a great pool. Breakfast was lovely with plently of choice and the prices were very reasonable. The hotel was clean and tidy at all times. I would definately stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. We arrived and had to wait 45 minutes to check in. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, you do have to queue at least half and hour to be seated for breakfast and the restaurant was extremely busy and we felt it was not big enough to cater for the size of the hotel. Breakfast was really nice though and […] there was a lot to choose from. If you are not all inclusive the prices of drinks etc at the bar are very expensive. We didn't manage to get around the pool as there were not enough sunbeds and people were putting there towels on the beds from 7am which was really annoying. We did mention this to the hotel manager but he didn't really seem that bothered. We therefore ended up at the beach every day. The rooms were lovely, bright and spacious. We stayed on the 17th floor and the lifts were an absolute nightmare there was no air conditioning in them and by the time we got up to floor 17 we were nearly passing out as it was that hot. All in all this is a nice hotel but it is far too busy, it is also quite a hike to the beach. Recommended bars to try whilst you are there "The Lazy Cow" on the beach front lovely food and reasonably priced. Read more

Reception staff overworked and slightly surly, who priorities telephone calls over dealing with people waiting in front of them. Make sure you ask for room safe key and wi-fi code when you check in queues for reception very lengthy to be going back to wait again. Room service on Sunday non existent, phone just rang and rang even after talking with […] front desk. Vague smell of drains in my room (on 20th floor) Breakfast excellent for such a huge scale event, pool area lively and well kept. Wifi is expensive here and the gym has no a/c so is much too hot to use for long. The food could also have been better for this standard of hotel. However, apart from that the hotel is great. Beautiful hotel with lovely pool area. Only negative is food could be better. There was veal every night. The Italian corner - everything is made from the same tasteless white sauce. Very busy and even had to set our own table. Turned into a typical all inclusive hotel which we don't like.

Enjoyed our stay at the Melia. It is the second time that I have visited the Hotel. The only qualm I have is the toilets at the bar area are a disgrace. They should be checked regularly.

this is a great hotel with a lovely big lagoon pool, its set a short walk back from the beach in a quieter area. this was our second stay and we would definately return. if you want the freshest at breakfast go to the omelette station. and try the italian restaurant Toppo Giggio nearby.

We loved this hotel we went with our family a group of six youngest of three, we stayed in standard rooms although we were offered an upgrade these rooms were perfect as you spend little time in them, there were two single beds and one camp bed the bathroom was more than adequate with a good size bath/shower and lots of hot water. We paid 1 euro 50 […] per day for safe rental and a deposit of 10 euros for the key. The indoor pool was lovely as swimming in an outdoor pool or the sea was too chilly, to gain entry you need to purchase a cap for two euros each even for men with very short hair. Breakfast was served between 7.30 -10.30 and was very nice cold meats and cheeses, crackers rolls all different types of bread lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, biscuits, croissants and doughnuts. Full English breakfasts with really nice flavoured sausages and beans which is a first for me on a foreign holiday, choices of tea and coffee wine and champagne if you fancied it with fresh strawberries as much (as you like of anything you liked) The one disappointing thing was lack of decent wifi (three computers in the reception which you paid to use) They missed an opportunity here in all the hotels I have stayed in previously I have sat in the bar area and bought numerous drinks whilst I have used the free wifi, sadly although I would of much preferred to of stayed in the beautiful lounge area of this hotel I ended up using the local bars which resulted in eating in them too. We spent Christmas at the Melia - just 30 minutes from home as the Gala Lunch looked good, it is 5 minutes walk to the Benidorm Palace (Boxing Day show) and 10 minutes from the beach. This is a 4* tourist hotel - lots of glass and tiles, but a very good pool garden. Lots of local 'pubs' nearby if you don't want to pay htel prices, but Melia is going […] AI in 2012 so that won't be a problem for many. We (our group of 10) were disappointed with the standard of the 'chow hall'. Starters, salads, puds, etc were all fine. Its just the buffet main courses were prepared by cooks and not chefs, if you yake my meaning. Most courses were very overcooked (yesterday??) and not very appetising. Personally, I ditched these and filled up on the other choices. Unfortunately, this carried into the Christmas Day Gala Lunch (extra €35 pp) and so it seems to be a common trait. If you want to check out offers in Benidorm (shows, etc) then its worth looking at the internet, which can save up to 30% for you. Overall, we knew the hotel and it served the purpose of a 3 night Christmas getaway for 10 at about 25% of the price you would pay in the UK. Read more

This is not a 4 star hotel, start with the wi fi, you pay extra, not in a proper 4 star hotel. Four times i told reception the heating was full on when the thermostat was off, they said the man would be up to fix it 3 days latter no man just a room with a temp of 27 deg for three days after waiting 2 hours we were told by our our four sets of freinds […] told us,there rooms were the same. we all had to sleep with the doors open listening to benidorm for most of the night. The galla diner was a santa who stood at the resteraunt door for 2 minuets, the manager sang some carrols the supposed galla was over in 15 minutes. the beds were hard there was mould on the silicone in the bath room the towles were grey and worn. The sellection of food was good, but almost inedable, most euro countries this hotel would be 2 star, but in spain they they seem to think if they have the facilities, they get the stars, and it doesent matter if they dont work, its easey to send an email asking how your stay was but not to own up to faulty heating and repairing it, we have just had the worst christmas ever, will we be compensated i dont think so, i will not be returning and i will not recomend it , even to my worst enemy. The hotel was ideal for my one night stay and situated just 5min walk from Benidorm Palace which is why we were there. Breakfast good. Staff good. Rooms could do with a little more cleaning and so could the chair that was in the corner of the room,had stains on the fabric. Bathroom was a little dated but ok.
