"Poor front desk service"
I checked it not needing a parking permit until later on around an hour later I had asked for one and he has said that he had none left to park on the road when the parking lot had lots of slots open and he was on his iPod/ iPhone. I felt like he was ignoring me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was under construction and maintenance. Most of the hotel's parking was taken up by the construction equipment, so I had to park on the street, next to a parking meter. It was free from 6pm-9am but I had to wake up before 9am to feed the parking meter to avoid a ticket.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"GOOD CLEAN NO SMOKING SMELL AT ALL!"
We were pleased that the room had absolutely no smell of lingering smoke at all! Also, we were surprised there was a kitchenette (apartment-sized fridge, 2-burner stove top, sink, microwave, coffee maker w/coffee and tea, toaster and silverware, pots and dishes). We were on the 2nd floor and there was a washer and dryer on our floor. Front desk staff […] pretty friendly. Free breakfast included coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apples, oranges, packaged muffins, instant oatmeal and granola bars. Great for grab and go! Parking cost - $10, which is ok, but there are two small lots ... one next to the hotel and the 2nd is located after a house, located next to the 1st parking lot. Although it is a short walk, you cannot see your car from the 1st parking lot. Make sure you bring your shampoo, conditioner and lotion as there is none in the room. There is free WIFI. All in all, we got a great deal on a very decent hotel and we'll keep it in mind whenever we need to stay over in Anchorage. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel very close to downtown."
I would've preferred somewhere other than this hotel, (The Captain Cook, Westmark, Anchorage Hilton) something more "right in the middle of downtown. However all my preferred places were totally booked full. But this hotel was perfectly fine and worked out nicely.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Time in Alaska"
I had a great Visit to Alaska to see my son. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. I plan to stay there again next visit!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was wonderful. Although the hotel was not very close to downtown area the staff was very helpful to us providing shuttle service if we needed it. The staff were all warm and friendly . The manager Cindy was very professional and very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed in ESA- Downtown Anchorage for 5 Nights. Pros-Proximity to downtown dining, shopping and attractions was good. Got around Anchorage by foot the entire stay. Cons -Hotel Shuttle from airport was late, and overbooked. Requires 24hr notice, though it didn't make a difference we got turned down twice because the van was full. Room was clean, though […] had a musky smell. Advertised coffee/tea 24 hrs in lobby and it was out for maybe 3. Staff was unprofessional (wrinkled clothes, not personable). In room kitchenette accessories were disorganized (One plastic cup, but three mugs. A frying pan that would probably start smoking and set up the alarm.) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I would not chose to stay there again"
Reserved a non-smoking room, received a smoking room because they overbooked non-smoking rooms. > Not enough hotel property parking so you have to find parking on the street. > Mattress was uncomfortable/cheap. > Continental breakfast was terrible, did not even serve juice or water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a Great Experience"
Will not be staying here again. Very "discount hotel" qualityGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It was a good hotel very comfortable & clean .. With fast free internetGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at this hotel twice in one week. The first stay was one night and didn't go well. The shuttle picked us up 1/2 hr late. We requested a non-smoking room and were stuck in a smoking room. If you don't smoke staying in a smoking room is awful. Our second stay was for two nights, the shuttle was on time and we were given a non-smoking room. The […] room was fine except a couple of the pillows had a strong musty odor. The breakfast is meager when compared with many other hotels. The staff was very friendly. "Good value... Bring ear plugs"
The staff were great, and we had a decent stay (just one night after a late night arrival around 2 am). The fridge in the room made noises all night. The value was good for the price, and I'd stay there again for a quick trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband, grandson and I stayed for 6 nites, and were not aware at all that there was no housekeeping unless you stayed 7 nites, and then it was 1 time a week. We had to take our dirty towels to the front desk each day in order to get clean ones. also had to get toilet paper the same way (how embarrassing! ) The breakfast that was advertised was just […] watery coffee, apples, no juice or milk at all Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for a night"
Room was ok. Staff acted annoyed when I requested that bedding be delivered to the room for the hide-a-bed. Hide-a-bed / couch was filthy. Cushions were stained and did not smell very good. The other parts of the room were ok. Bathroom & kitchen were clean. I guess I would expect a bit more for the price. we had a good time. The cheek-in was very slow but the staff was very nice... It was a good experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is nice, clean and in walking distance to downtown. I only wish they had a better breakfast service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Reasonably priced for being downtown. If you want a cheap place that's within walking distance of downtown then this is the place. Room was more than sufficient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel with comparatively lower price. The room had enough space and had all the items required for stayGenuine Expedia guest review
Extended Stay was our last resort hotel because all the hotels were booked.. but it wasn't bad for a 4 night stay. The room was a little hot, so we had the window open the whole time we were staying there. Not once did we close the window.. Even during the night. The kitchen area was useful, but I had to scrub all of the pans, plates, and utensils because […] there were still oil stains and food particles from the last guest who used them. The customer service made up for that though. They were willing to provide me with anything I needed and were very friendly and helpful when I asked about places to see in town. Parking is $10 a day and there isn't always a spot guaranteed, but since my boyfriend and I were always out during the day, we used the parking meter for when we needed to pay. Meter is free 6pm-9am M-F, holidays, and all day on the weekends. We stayed the weekend of 4th of July so a parking permit wasn't worth it for us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"My room for 6 days smelled like rotten fish !!!"
My room stunk. The pool temp. was 40 degrees. the hot tub was dirty like a dirty farmers pond. It was down for all 6days. That too was 40 degrees. Only good was the staff. Pretty nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to down town"
I have stayed at plenty of hotels and Extended Stays but this was by far the worst. The hotel will only clean your room every 8 eight days, the room is not filled with any shampoo's conditioners or soap if you need these items you have to ask, what they consider a queen bed is definitely a full size and is very small if you're 6ft tall. Also the only […] way to replace your dirty towels is to take the dirty towel to the front desk and in exchange they will give you a new towel. Not the kind of service I expect when traveling. "Not close at all to eating establishments or sight"
The only thing good was the convenience of the shuttle and the bed was comfortable. The thermostat did not work, dirty towel left in bathroom and was still there the next day, after we complained. Upon arrival we learned shuttle from airport had to be reserved 24 hours in advance .. $25 cab ride. Location on the edge of downtown. Found room to not be cleaned (8 pm). Night clerk was flippant. "Great room for the price"
We are seasoned travelers - didn't want fancy, just wanted clean and good value. This hotel is close (short cab ride or up to 15-block walk) to shopping and restaurants in a great part of Anchorage. It was and ok hotel. The room smelled and we had to change rooms because the first one was worse. The beds was hard. Had to ask for extra towels and a blanket. Be sure to buy the optional parking permit. I did not and opted to park on the street. My husband misunderstood the parking restriction (I checked us in) and parked next to the building in the hotel's lot later when I was not in the vehicle. There were not "no parking" signs on the building-- only on the far side of the lot. Imagine our surprise when […] our vehicle was towed away! Towing company would not open up for us since they close at 5pm on Saturday, so we had to totally ruin our fishing vacation and spend another night at the hotel. Total towing charge was $465! Front Desk clerk Ken was amazing and tried his best to remedy the situation. Hotel is in a good location for downtown shopping/dining, but rooms are bare and breakfast is grim. "Ideal location in downtown Anchorage"
The hotel location was ideal in downtown Anchorage close to restaurants and shops. My room was clean upon arrival. Loved the kitchenettes. All staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
One of the main reasons we chose the hotel is because we had been out in the rain all day and we agreed a hot tub was the answer. The pool and hot tub was not functional as advertized. On top of that, we were called after 10pm by the hotel staff asking us how the room was. Really??Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay hotel for the price"
I called ahead to ensure their pool was indoors and open. I explained to the lady I swim laps every morning, she said "Yes, our pool is open every morning and doesn't close till 10pm" what she failed to mention, is the pool is literally 8ft by 8ft and only 4ft deep. No where near big enough for swimming laps. Then they charged us ten dollars a day […] to park in their private parking lot, where there were no parking spots available. At 3am on he second night of our stay, sketchy looking people were drinking and smoking, playing really loud music, right outside our window. When I called and complained to the night lady, she said there was nothing she could do. Our coffee pot was broken, the breakfast consisted of granola bars and fruit and only one of the staff members was nice. There was really nasty food, dust and trash under our bed when we checked in. The room was okay size and we were on the top floor. However, the pillow cases doesn't look cleaned. "It's the little things that count...or disappoint."
The room itself was decent, but it was the little things that were disappointing. Our TV quit working and they told us that they were going to switch rooms for us, but that we had to go down and get the key. The heater in the room they switched us to was not working. It would make sounds like someone was scraping ice off the windows. The final straw […] for me was when I went to take a shower and I went to put the shower towel on the floor, hair fell out. The hallways reaked of smoke, though the hotel boasted that it was non-smoking. The walls were paper thin, with outside noise and the hallway traffic were quite loud.
