"Beautiful views and rooms but no parking spaces"
Parking is terrible. 2 to 4 spaces per 12 rooms. You may park a mile away and have to walk or take a bus tram. Just don't be in a hurry to come and go.

"Almost"
We had a lovely time, mostly. The first night we were there, the computers had crashed so none of the amenity services were available. The second day, we called the smokehouse to order ribs and they were completely sold out. At 7 pm. We understand that the lodge has many guests but it is odd when the restaurant named after a smokehouse for its ribs and pulled pork run out. Our room was nice and clean and cozy, but we were placed in a bottom floor room in a building built into a hill. The result was that we only had one window and it was in the bedroom. It very much felt like being in a basement apartment. The walls were thin and we were disturbed by the amount of noise coming through the walls and ceiling. The Location can't be beat. The views are spectacular. If you have a window or balcony to see it.

"great clean hotel for the money"
We were at the hotel for 3 nights. the room was clean and comfortable. the location is great, as there is a trolley stop next to the hotel that can take you to Gatlinburg, so you dont have to pay 8$ parking at the city. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. they always asked us if we were comfortable and if we needed anything- very happy with their service. Only bad thing was the toilet flush, it was very loud, a thte toilet at our room and I could hear the flush from neighboring rooms as well. Annoying at night. If this was not the case, this hotel would have got all 5 stars from us.

"Some problems and annoyances, but overall 7/10"
Cold food at breakfast with no refund or apology, neighbors doing laundry at 12:30 a.m. with no signs with laundry cut off times, front desk told us the wrong place to sit in order to catch the trolley in to town, and the arcade for kids is just plain a waste of time and money, much better one in town at the space needle. Many small annoyances and issues, but overall the resort is well kept and beautiful. Still things that they could work on though. Give the stay a 7/10. Also, trying to find the resort could be easier. There are no signs directing you there. Drove past the entrance twice without knowing it and had to stop and ask the welcome center how to get there.

"Glad it was only one night in the room."
The room was amazing however we had ants. When I tried to give my kids a shower the water wouldnt get hot so I went to call the desk dialing 1234 like they had told me but the phones didnt work so I had to call the front dest from my cell for someone to come check on everything. But the waterpark and everything else was amazing and will go back one day for the spa.

"Nice hotel not so mice staff"
Hotel was nice, rooms were clean. Hotel staff not so nice. Bad check in experience. The water park was free for guests but we were asked to pay the 18 dollars fee to use it. Rude parking lot staff.

"In the mountains"
Check in very slow! Got there around 4:30 ,the girl greeting us told us after standing in line for hour and not moving that we might go get a bite and come back around 7 . That there shouldn't be line. There was still a long line when we got back. She move us to the vip line. 3 people ahead us and took hour to check in. Got our room around 9. The room had a tear in the carpet and I step on a carpet tack. Turn covers over and found hair on the sheets. Housekeeping came change the sheets. The manager the next morning did move us to different room. much nicer.

"Front desk help needs work"
We had to wait in line for close to two hours to just check in. This was despite the fact that I registered online ahead of time. The front desk was very inefficient. They also charged 20 extra dollars in fees that I was not ready for.

The Room was clean! Bed where a little more firm then I like and had my lower back hurting a bit! Indoor water park was great! My husband road the slides a dozen times! My 3 year old enjoyed herself! "Nice but noisy"

"Beautiful view of the mountains from our room!"
When we first arrived at the Westgate, we were greeted by several staff members. Our check in was seamless and we were even given a free upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. Everything was clean and very comfortable. Our resort was not far from all the attractions of Gatlinburg.

"Very clean and comfortable. Thin walls,added fees"
Upon check in we were charged an extra $20 a day fee for wifi usage, fitness facility, and use of the outdoor pool. On top of a $50 deposit, none of which were stated on the website we purchased from. We didn't even use any of the above amenities. The waterpark is also not included in your stay like some of the others (Great Wolf Lodge). It was about $60 dollars for us and our 4yo. The staff were very helpful as the rooms were super clean!!! Mattress was also comfortable but the walls are paper thin. You can hear each time your neighbor opens a door or laughs loud. The pool is open later so if you have small children ask for a room further away. Even though we had a few issues I would stay again for the location and cleanliness.

"Nice hotel for relaxing with friends"
I booked this hotel for my friend and I to have a mother/daughter weekend with our grown daughters. The hotel staff was exceptional from check-in to the bellman to shuttle driver and check-out. When we arrived we checked in and the bellman escorted us up the hill to our room. He checked to make sure our keys worked and when we saw that there was only one king bed, after I had reserved a 2 bedroom villa, he promptly called the front desk. However, we had read the check-in paperwork wrong and our key opened another door which had the second bedroom. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need for your stay, minus food. There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms and the view of the mountains was amazing. The fireplace was a beautiful addition, but it was too warm for that. The televisions were great but we were not really interested in watching them. The shuttle service is a great extra which we used to go to the Mason Jar Lounge. We did not even have to call because it came through every little bit to see if someone wanted to go down the hill. I loved this resort. It would be great for families with younger children as well. I do think there needs to be more parking per building. We had to park far away from our car each night and the morning we left a truck was parked in the striped area and we could not get our luggage carrier off the sidewalk. Security should enforce those areas better.

"Nice but needs some improvements"
The complex is nice, but they need to improve the check-in and leaving process. When checking in, it took about 1/2 hr to 45 minutes and they really were not busy. When leaving they stopped every card to get their parking permit which backed traffic up quit a bit. My wife was driving, I hop out of the car and went to the office to check out and was able to get back to my car before we were passed the guard station that was asking for the parking permits.

"Low quality hotel which charged for everything"
The rooms looked nice from the pictures but when we got there the couches were pleather, the mattress was terrible & the hot water ran out every time we tried to fill up the jacuzzi tub before the water got to the jets.

"nice resort,clean room,friendly staff"
There was a nice place to stay, but the studio room very little privacy and there a washer dryer right out side your door. Neighbors washed laundry late into the night and morning. The location is great your close to gatlinburg but not right on the strip.

"Location to park"
I enjoyed the location the most. The room was very big and spacious. I didnt like that I had to hear a small sales pitch before I even could get to my room. I thought I was just renting a room not getting a sales talk. They offered a free breakfast if you listened to them for 90min and toured the property. We didnt do that because we had other things to do with our time. If I had known via Expedia this would have been a time-share type buy in place I wouldnt have stayed here. That being said, there was a car show that weekend and everything was booked everywhere else and this was one of the only places still available.

"Beautiful Resort right in the Mountains......"
We had never been to the mountains so this was a brand new experience for my husband and I. Overall our experience was excellent. From the resort staff to the location everything exceeded our expectations. The bell staff member (Mike) who took us up to our villa was exceptional. The only disappointing thing was that this was a timeshare. We told them originally that we already owned one and were not interested, but they promised some great gifts if we just did the 90 minute tour. We agreed (and they DID give us everything they promised!) and did the tour. However, the 90 minute tour turned out to be a 4 hour tour! Our salesperson (Jonathan Smith) was awesome and did make it fun but we had no idea it would waste our entire first full morning there. If we had to do it again we would pay the deposit fee and avoid the tour. My suggestion, unless you have NO intentions on purchasing a timeshare, just give them the $20.00 deposit and call it a day! It was worth the $20.00 to have those 4 hours of my life back to go and see the sights we didn't get to see. I would recommend this resort HIGHLY! Our room was amazing (1 bedroom villa) and the property was spectacular. To the resort staff... when someone tells you they already own a time share, give them a break and let them enjoy their vacation without the high pressure of the tour. Thank you for everything! "Ok for the area"
All the units are up the hill from where you check in. You can't park your car under the canopy for loading or unloading while checking in. There weren't enough trained servers. I saw several instances where the waitstaff would hold drinks or glasses of drinks against their body in order to carry them to the tables. The servers were not washing their hands after collecting dirty or used utensils or after handling payments before taking other customers their food. Buffet was nice if you like fried greasy food. There weren't any appealing vegetarian or low dat options other than raisin bran or frui in the morning for breakfast. There wasn't enough hot water in the room or in the dining room restroom. There were gouges/ repaired rips in the wall paper. The TV's were flatscreen but the picture wasn't high def. the bed however was awesome and the staff were nice. This was a nice place to sleep but not a good place to eat or relax. The waterpark was well tended and great for our 5 yr old.

"Fine BUT..."
There was definitely a catch to it all. This was a timeshare group, the room they stick you in for the price is SMALL! I could've gotten something for the price of the room, and the "resort fee" that would've had a lot more room and comfort and probably closer to town. They never mention the fact that it's a timeshare and try to entice you with LOTS of offers to get you to go to their sales meetings, that you have to make a $20 deposit for in order to go. They put us in the biggest closest building to the bottom of the hill and it was not worth the money at all. The bathroom was decent size and fine but you literally couldn't even close the door without scraping the desk side that was set next to the door frame. There was a tiny foyer to get to the room for which our door was behind the main door and manuvering yourself, let alone a luggage cart was hard. The bed was a double when we paid for a queen, and the sheets came off the mattress every night when we slept on them. The staff was fine, it was clean, but it's not worth the money or time.

It is true that we are a timeshare resort and offer the opportunity for all guests to participate in a tour in which incentives are offered. The $20 deposit is just that, a deposit, in order to reserve your breakfast or lunch which is provided should you choose to join us for a tour. If you make the decision to sign up for a tour and put down the $20 deposit, it is refunded at the end of your tour. But again, the tour is optional for owners and guest with the exception of those who are traveling under a special package deal in which the tour is required. We are sorry if for any reason you were not aware that we are a timeshare but rest assured we certainly do not hide or deny that we are. When it comes to the size of your unit please be advised that we offer a variety of unit sizes ranging from studios to five bedrooms. "Timeshare trap"
Pull in to check in. bel hop tells me to park on other side, while waiting for some else to move car behind keeps honking. Once in the door they charge a 8.95 daily resort fee. two nights become 3 days so pony up or no keys. The room was nice but it's just building on top of buildings. The water park is extra. The ceiling are noisy, heard people running around all evening. They had a fire, so there was no room service. Pizza hut wouldn't deliver because the resort won't let them inside the property. Then they tried to sell us a timeshare for 149,000 six bedrooms for one week. that 7.7 million for a year

"Nice room with thin walls"
The resort was really beautiful in a classic log cabin vibe. Unfortunate the walls are really thin and we were next to some younger individuals who were up there for the "party". We literally heard every word, beer tab and other goings on from next door. Having small children who did not need to hear all of that, especially up to at least 4 o'clock in the morning, it was ridiculous.

"You will pay more than advertised!"
Be aware, the price quoted by Expedia is not the final price. The resort? which is actually a time share scheme will be adding a $50.00 resort fee and charges an additional $11.00 per day wifi fee. The room we were given was very small (studio) and certainly not worth the price of $359.02 plus $22.41 for a total of $381.43! I could have rented a fully equipped 2 bedroom cabin for approx. $40.00 more. It was equipped with a hot tub and pool table. Westgate also tries to pressure you into viewing a 90 minute sales pitch on purchasing time at the resort. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth for both Westgate and Expedia.

"Loved the resort nestled right in the mountain."
very clean, everyone was polite. They waved in passing, and spoke.. this will be the only place we stay when visiting the smokeys. We come at least once a year!

"Crowded"
I had not realizes I was going during the April vacation week of a lot of states as it turned out it was jam packed. Very congested. There are two out door pools both way too small when the facility is at full capacity. The indoor park is $20.00 and very crowded with busses coming from other areas or local schools. The rooms are excellent but almost impossible to walk to it's all up hill. They do have trolls in place but a pain if you just want to shoot down to the main building for something. Parking was limited in that area.

"westgate Gatlinburg. have dirty floors and bathro"
Floors have no carpet and they were apparently dirty. Took 2 hours to wipe floors and bathroom counters down before we could sleep. Checked in late so no cleaning service. Also there was hair in shower..furniture in the first few lodges in front need upgraded furniture. .

"poor service"
The stay was fine. Had dinner at the restaurant it was good. The next night wanted pizza from the bar. They were not that busy waited ten minutes for service and no one came. Then went to the restaurant again stood there another five minutes before anyone helped. There was a 30 min wait. So we went back to the bar sat a different table asked to order pizza. Waited another ten minutes no one came so we went back to the room hungry. Most likely will not go back to this place.

"Not worth it"
Westgate smokey mountain resort is too expensive for it to have no free amenities. No free wifi, then indoor waterpark is NOT included in your stay, there is an additional resort fee added to your regular nightly rate which im still confused to what that is for. The walls are super thin so We heard the family downstairs from us baby cry all night as well as the smell of EVERYTHING they cooked was in our cabin, this was just not a place for relaxation. Slamming doors, kids screaming by the pool and etc.. I will never come back.

"Great hotel and lots of space."
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and more than what we expected. The indoor water park was a lot of fun. Our teenage boys enjoyed this park more than the one down the street. The only negative item is we waited FOREVER for the shuttle. Our cottage was the very last one at the top of the hill. After 15-minutes, we gave up on the shuttle and walked to the cottage. During the long trek up the hill, we never saw the shuttle either. Otherwise the place was clean, quiet, and beautiful.

"Nice resort"
Nice overall close to trails shopping and fishing park for kids fishing stock every Thursday so no fishing in the city on Thursdays. NASCAR speed park had promo for vacation 31.99 all day pass for whole week

"Dull musky smell rooms. Needs updated.No charge"
The room we stayed in had a musky smell to it. The rooms need to be brighter and updated. Our 2 grandchildren took a shower and then when I got ready to there was no hot water, that should never happen. We had requested ice one night and it took room service over an hour to bring it to us. When the ice finally arrived we had already gone to bed. My husband end up in a hurry getting out of bed to answer the door being almost midnight. We had called down to room service a few more times with no one answering our calls. We had ask for a wake up call one morning our daughter's wedding was the next morning and we never received a wake up call. That to should have never happened. I think some changes need to be made to better accommodate your guest. the last thing I would like to suggest that there should be NO charge for the waterpark, that was crazy!
