The Imperial Hotel is only a block away from Clifton Hill, easily within walking distance. Parking is $5 Canadian per day plus tax, which is a real bargin for the area. Our 9th Floor room was spacious and comfortable, with a terrific view of Skylon. The sitting room love seat was worn, as we expected from previous reviews, but other than that, clean, comfortable and tastefully-appointed. Fridge and microwave were a convenient plus, as well as the basement swimming pool. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. The halls do smell smokey, as other reviewers have pointed out, but as most of the rooms are non-smoking, people cheat and smoke in the hallways - not the fault of the hotel. We ate breakfast out rather than the Golden Griddle. In short, a conveniently-located, reasonably-priced, friendly, pleasant stay.

When we first checked into the hotel it smelled like cancer (tobacco smell). The rooms smelled worse because they sprayed the rooms to try to get rid of the tobacco smell. We requested to have our rooms changed since I had booked non smoking rooms, they put us on the 10th floor where the smell was not as strong. The breakfast was good, but beverages where not included. They advertise free internet but we where not able to connect the three days we stayed, it was kind of funny that if you bought a card for $5.50 for a half hour you where able to connect on the web in the lobby.

My family of 4 ended up in 4 different rooms in only 2 days. The first room only had 1 bed for 4 people, the second room was acceptable, but the hotel staff moved us without notification. We came back after a day out to find all of our belongings gone. My husband and oldest son were awakened soaking wet at 5 in the morning in the third room. Apparently the ceilings leak when jacuzzis are used upstairs. Which brought us to our 4th room in just 2 days. The rooms need more than updating, there were burn marks on the carpets and furniture form cigarrettes and from the iron. There were holes in the walls, not very clean, and the staff were rude and beligerant. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is in my opininion absolutely disgusting. The lobby stinks. The room we had didn't have a room number on the door (but was room 512). It had brown stains on the walls & ceilings. The beds were balanced on wooden frames that didn't fit & were a splinter hazard. The room was dingy & dark & had bubbled up, peeling paint. It was more like a prison cell than a hotel room. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was unhelpful. We checked out within minutes of arriving as the room was not fit for human habitation. We were charged for 2 nights despite checking out immediately & complaining about the state of the room. There is no way this hotel should be classed as a 3 star.

I had never booked a hotel reservation online through a service such as this, but the price was just too good to pass up and it sounded exactly like what my wife and I were looking for. We were expecting something second rate and tolerable and were stunned at what we actually got for our money. We had no trouble finding it using the directions on the website. When we drove up, it looked exactly like the picture on the outside, but I was not expecting the quality of the accommodations on the inside for the price we paid. I have stayed in various hotel chains across the country where I paid five to six times this price for a NICE room, but I cannot ever remember staying in a BETTER room. We did not require a view of the falls and certainly did not have one from our second-floor room, but the absence of a view had no impact on our trip. Our room was clean, bright, comfortable beyond expectations, well maintained, spacious, and convenient. The beds were, surprisingly and unexpectedly, very comfortable and we both slept through the night without waking due to discomfort. The linens were clean, the bathroom was spotless, the water temperature and pressure was heavenly. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond, especially when the desk clerk called CAA for us when our car wouldn't start on the morning of our departure. I still cannot believe our good fortune. Our room in this hotel was a haven to which we returned each evening and was the single most important part of our trip. I searched several websites over a 6 week interval to find the perfect hotel for our needs. I cannot believe I found it on my first try. My wife and I are walkers and wanted a hotel convenient to the falls as well as shopping and dining--all within walking distance. This hotel was perfect. If we ever return to Niagra Falls we will stay in this hotel provided we stay healthy and are still able to walk. The location is perfect for families as well, because it is within two to three minute

Plan on paying $3.50 for meadiocre coffee or watered down juice with breakfast. The pool area needs new flooring and to be clened. Towels are stained and scratchy. Room was dirty (wear socks) and not as described. Junior suite is just a large room with a 3 ft wide floor to ceiling wall to for a "separate" sitting area. lighting is wobbly standing lamps. Cleaning staff yell and curse at each other in the halls near the pool. Paid extra to call 800 numbers. Paid $5.00 to use the computer for 30 min. This place nickled and dimed us to death. I booked this hotel two months early so I got a good price, about half the price it was going for when I arrived. The staff are informative and friendly. Service is quick. The rooms are large and have a sofa with a sitting area. The maids keep the romms clean and provide extras when asked. The bed was very hard and the pillows are horrible. The fluff in the pillow is all clumped up and hard. Bring your own. The location is great. One block from the falls and almost directly in front of the american falls. The hotels is right next to clifton hill which is loaded with attractions. It is on Victoria ave which also is the life of the town. Parking is Five dollars a day and the hotel offers breakfast for a fee, I believe its five dollars. The area is extremely expensive to eat. For a family on a budget this place is a nightmare. If you take a right on victoria ave there is a grocery and dollar store about two miles down the road. Thats the way to go. The hotel rooms have a microwave and a refigerator. There is also a little ceasars down the road to the right by the grocery store that offers a five dollar pizza the little ceasars across the street from the room is far more expensive. At the front desk you can purchase the adventure pass which is a must. I reccomend this room.

For the price, I didn't expect a palace. I did expect the place to at least have an accurate description. Wrong. This hotel is NOT a block from the falls, but it is walkable. It might be possible to see the falls from one of the upper floors. In the winter. If you found just the right window. The cleanliness and maintenance of our room left a lot to be desired. Someone's sippy cup was still in the mini-fridge, the carpets rated an 8 on the icky scale, and the whole hotel was still firmly stuck in 1987. The service at the attached restaurant was terrible (be prepared to go get your own coffee refills) and everything was nickel and dimed - we bought the included breakfast, and beverages were extra. A cup of coffee was 2.50$. Parking cost extra, and was in VERY short supply. More than once we had to cruise the lot waiting for someone to leave. If you're just looking for cheap, this is it. Next time I'll spend the extra to stay at a chain hotel that's got better service and nicer rooms. I think my husband summed it up best when he said: "This place is adequate. It keeps your stuff from getting rained on".

After staying here for three nights, I have absolutely no complaints. It doesn't have bells and whistles but our room was clean and in good condition, the staff was nice, and our whole trip was hassle-free. Air conditioning, hot water, keycards, everything worked as it was supposed to. The swimming pool and hot tub in the basement were also clean and pleasant. We also liked that our room had a safe, microwave, and fridge. The location is quite good, about half a block from the main drag (Clifton Hill) and maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the Falls. (Instead of dealing with the Clifton Hill crowds, you can make for the Skylon Tower, where there is a footpath that leads down to the Horseshoe Falls.) We didn't try the attached restaurant (Golden Griddle) but there is a Denny's just up the street for breakfast, and the Italian restaurant next door (Casa D'Oro?), which we tried on a recommendation from the front desk, was amazing. Overall it was a great value for the money. Of course, our hotel needs are pretty basic, but we were pleased. Would definitely stay there again if we go back to Niagara Falls.

The down side of the hotel was the parking fee for the hotel - around $10 for the 2 night stay - talk about penny pinching!! Our included breakfast was taken in the Golden Griddle attached to the hotel. There was a limited menu choice and you have to pay for fruit juice, but tea/coffee was included. There was also a free MOUSE running around the room while we ate. No response from the staff when we pointed it out other than to say they would call an exterminator.....seemed like a regualr occurrence based on their reactions!!!!
