The hotel surroundings are great. The insides are worn out and really unkept, poorly maintained. The Sofa cloth inside the rooms are torn and shredded, curtains are torn and smelly,a very small old fashioned TV, non functional remote control, washrooms are old and the plumbing is very very bad. The Roman Bath Tub got replaced by a tiny Jacuzzi that […] barely fits two people and was not well maintained. No mini bars, fridge or drinking water in room. Very expensive for all that. No, not recommended. Far away from a 4 star hotel. And duble check for the breakfast included when you do the booking. The only great part was the people serving us, great team and very respectful and courteous. Read more

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was strange not having an English Program on the TV however it was not a big issue with us. The pool was disappointing as the water was cold and the bottom very slippery. On the whole, we were happy to have visited your Hotel.

This hotel although very nice in the pictures should be listed with seasonal restrictions. I truly think I was one of the only people staying and surprise no food!! Resturaunt was closed and no drinks at all, bar was closed too. No vending machines or anything. Hotel Lac Carling is a unique combination of European chalet with antiques and Persian rugs in a rural Laurentians setting. Beautiful lake for canoeing and swimming, plus golf, hiking or just communing with nature. A fine dining restaurant, with a good basic menu and reasonable prices is an added bonus. Great spot to get away from it all.

No cell coverage! Internet wouldn't connect! Only 3 TV chanels working! Canoe and paddleboats full of water. Paddles broken. GPS had us taking taking the shortest route which was the worst road I've ever driven. Pot holes galore!! Dinner was only ok with limited selection. Buffet breakfast was good. Won't be back :(

Beautiful hotel lots of antiques in the hallway which make it unique. Very quiet and isolated outside with a lake and a golf course. A bit hard to find but once there appreaciated the whole look of the hotel and its environment. Great place to unwind.

Service was pathetic! At checkin, they are NOT computerized and told me Expedia NEVER provided thema ph number for me so they couldnt call me. I gave them the print out showing my PH number and my special requests. Anyhow I did manage to get my golf booked and spa booked. Golf went well. Spa: the massage therapist never showed up! We hada dual massage […] booked. One of us was taken in and the other one waited. No one said anything till I asked how long this was going to be and they told me massage therapist never showed up. I was llivid...If they had told me on the onset, I could have camcelled both our massages and book elsewhere...Needless to say, the hotel service was of no help... they basically said, they could refund one massge... what a distrous mistake ever making a booking at this place! Friendly Huskys running around in the wild, great walks around the lake, the air is pure and the area very soothing. Beware hardened bachelors: this is a love craddle, lots of couples, all ages, shmoozing away in the moonlight. The hotel itself is very peculiar : picture a Swiss chalet only blown to Canadian proportions, with1970's architectural influences. […] Never-ending hallways covered in bright carpet and off-colour reproductions of old masters and real Canadian landscape paintings remind the visitor of the famous scenes of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Even the doorman, greeting you with a tanned smile in the middle of winter, will have you wonder if this is all real. The place is anachronistic and slightly pretentious, but in an absurd way. Friendliness of staff, good food, picturesque location are all good attributes, in addition to the possibility of playing indoor tennis. The hotel was built in 1992 which is not considered old. However, the extremely old personal computer available for clients in the reception area as well as outdated in-room equipment (ex very old TV with only a single […] movie available through the reception area ) are only a few examples giving the impression that the management has not kept up with the times in terms of technology. It would have been appropriate 15 years ago! My extended family of 14 members enjoyed a weekend at Carling Lake Resort Jan. 14-16 as an alternative to giving Christmas gifts this year. It was spectacular! The service was very friendly and accommodating, the food was great, and the rooms clean and very comfortable. Our 6 children and their significant others and grandchildren spent their days swimming, […] skating, playing hockey, tennis and dog sledding. The young people played hockey until the wee hours of the morning and my daughter was able to bring her dog and keep her in the hotel room. The concierge was very helpful, lending us skis, and skates, and the front desk people were always available and did all they could to make our stay comfortable. The tennis courts are beautiful and very comfortable, with windows above where non tennis players can watch from. The dog sled guides are talkative, patient and make sure that you get a fair turn. The staff obviously enjoy their jobs and help each other out, working always as a team. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the people who work there. Our whole family voted unanimously to make a yearly tradition of a holiday together at Carling Lake in lieu of Christmas gifts. Read more

J'ai été très déçue de mon séjour à l'hôtel du lac Carling. Dans un premier temps, la réservation que j'ai fait sur internet ne fut pas la même que lors de mon arrivée a l'hôtel. Il a fallu que je montre ma réservation sur internet à la réception pour qu'ils me donne des billets déjeuners (car la réservation incluait les déjeuners). Ensuite, l'état […] de notre chambre ''de luxe'' était pauvre: vieux tapis malpropres, trous au plafond, bain tourbillon plein de rouille l'eau y coulait brune. Il a fallu un bon 30 minutes avant d'avoir de l'eau acceptable. La cafetière était carrément dégeulace, jamais je n'aurais pu m'y faire un café. Nous avons manquer d'eau pendant quelques heures. Lit inconfortable malgrés qu'il soit king size. Décord vieillot et toiles sur les murs brisées. Nous avions demander une chambre n'importe ou sauf au rez-de chaussé mais cela n'a pas été respecter. Les bars n'étaient pas ouvert donc pas de billard comme indiquer sur le site et pour boire un verre il a fallu se rendre a Montebello (50 minutes). Restaurant déjeuner correct sans plus. Diner et souper bon quoique cher, je recommande d'aller a Montebello pour manger. Par contre, le service était très bon. Les dames des restaurants très accueillantes. JE NE CONSEILLE PAS DUTOUT CET HOTEL. Read more

Grande chambre propre, comme bien d'autres il s'agit d'un hotel qui mériterait un certain rafraichissement, reception ordinaire (1 seule personne en tout temps, mauvaise enregistrement de notre forfait ce qui nous a causé des problèmes au déjeuner et problématique avec distributrice sur place par mes garcons qui a été géré maladroitement), belle petite […] piscine en marbre, beau terrains de tennis mais tres mauvaise balles prêtées (je donnerais ça à mon chien pour qu'il s'amuse avec!!).
