The Inn at Longwood Medical - Boston

I chose this hotel because I traveled to Boston for a medical procedure. It is very near the hospital, which made everything very convenient, including parking. The room was comfortable, quiet and very clean. We had a very good meal in the restaurant and received a 15% discount. One exit leads to a food court, so there is no lack of food variety.

Overall I would stay at hotel again and would recommend for others to stay, It was very close to medical facility which was reason for stay and staff was helpful and polite. food was within hotel and was good as well as had several fast food places. internet was good.

Centralized area. If you need to be close to the medical center area, this is a perfect choice. It is also close to the fenway colleges and fenway park. There are nicer hotels at comparable prices. Boston is a town where you will walk, so location may be more important than you think.

I had an issue with door lock not engaging. Front desk sent up engineering. Engineering couldnt fix it and said i'd be fine, i had a chain still. That was incredulous. This was the second time I stayed at this hotel. Both times were within a week because my daughter has been inpatient at Boston Children's and I needed a place to sleep and shower when her dad was able to stay with her. This time my room was 739, I had read here in the reviews to ask for a room above 5th floor. This was a really nice room. One queen […] bed, table, desk, decent bathroom and closet., large t.v. with HBO and playstation. The hotel was quiet and mostly clean. They aren't great about taking the room service trays back. The room service food was excellent both times I had it. Delicious baked ziti and chocolate bread pudding. Delicious chopped salad. The only issue I had was because of the blizzard, the hotel was packed on Friday night. The hotel staff put a note under the door saying they wouldn't be able to service the rooms for guests staying over Saturday night. Which was fine. You could still get fresh towels etc. But then they didn't have room service that night without notification and I had to drag my exhausted self to the noisy bar to pick up a take out order, which took forever and wasn't as good. I don't know why. The folks working in the restaurant were also rude and not welcoming. I know they had a long few days and nights because of the storm but that is no excuse. This is the only place within walking distance to the hospital complex where we had to be. The only hotel available. Service was fine, shower controls in room needed work, other than that all was good. Food in hotel restaurant was a mixed bag, but wait staff was attentive.

I have travelled to the Longwood Medical Area several times for business, and usually I stay at an Inn in order to save money. Well, this was just a one night business trip, so I decided to be lazy and stay at the closest hotel to the hospital. For the extra $100, I got a dark and dreary room whose temperature control appeared to be just for show. The […] hallways are dark and noisy, which creeped me out. I highly recommend against the attached restaurant. It is dreadful and overpriced. The food court is far better, but not great. In hindsight, I would have stayed somewhere else (located near good food, as there is none in the immediate vicinity of the Longwood Medical area), and used public transportation to get to the hospital. The main building of the hotel was fine. If they try to put you in a room 4th floor or lower, ask for a room in the main building. I was in a 3rd floor room, which was on the other side of this sketchy parking garage. The room was a converted apartment with really old fixtures, carpeting, clogged tub, the works. The door didn't lock, the Internet didn't […] work, there was a stranger's hair all over the floor, sink, and tub in the bathroom. It was terrible. It had a kitchen with a stove and everything - not sure if it worked, but it seemed really unclean. When I called the front desk to tell them about the Internet and let them know that I wasn't happy about the room, the first guy I talked to was really rude and kept saying things like "not our problem" "can't control it " "not our responsibility." After he hung up on me, I called back to get his name and another guy answered who was way more helpful. He moved me into the main building, which was what I expected from a hotel. The first night I slept on a fold out bed in the conference room, but then they moved me into a regular room. After the first horrible night, things improved a lot. There was also an exit to a shopping mall where you could go visit the food court, a drug store, etc. Based on my experience at this hotel, I would not recommend it to other travelers. Read more

I don't appreciate arriving at midnight with no valet, parking in a dark unattended lot under the hotel and walking alone to the entry. My hallway smelled like hospital disinfectant and as I know many Ill people stay here I had hoped they as well as I would have a more calming scent around them. The hallways were dark , carpet, furniture and bedding […] old and malodorous. My temperature control device smelled moldy and was difficult to manipulate . I feel that Ill people , as well as those caring for them , deserve better and Best Western would do well from a humanitarian standpoint if they remodeled with just those families in mind. Read more

The hotel is excellently located for access to medical services in the Boston Longwood area. The hotel is old and somewhat sparce in amenities, such as no free coffee in the lobby, no exercise area, no pool, etc.

The Hotel was better than we hoped, we were in Boston for a Sox game and picked this hotel for it's location (walking distance to Fenway). The subway was also an easy walk away. The room was large, clean and quite. We will be back.

I chose this hotel specifically due to the proximity to Fenway and limited choices. It was clean enough and the concierge was very helpful. I now understand that Boston is a pricey city in regards to decent accommodations but I feel the cost was a bit high in relation to the quality of the hotel as a whole.

The beds in our room were uber comfortable and the overall cleanliness was fine. My only real complaint was the temperature of the hallways, elevators and lobby. It was unbearably warm and sticky. No a/c in those areas for some reason. Parking was a pain but that's Boston for ya. I would stay at this hotel again.

The staff was great and very pleasant and helpful. The room was nice, not huge but big enough for the three of us. Windows not as sound proof as some new ones would be so I could hear leaf blowers in the morning. It wasn't a problem, I just noticed that. Overall a great place and we will go back when we need to be close to campus.

Nothing fancy-clean decent hotel in a safe neighborhood. Great service at the front desk-toilet would not flush on day one as the handle chain broke in the tank-was resolved within minutes.

Bathroom had black mold on ceiling and air conditioning was not working.We had to wait 30 minutes to check in as they were not ready even though it was after 3:00pm. 3 times during our less than 24 hour stay our key cards deactiviated. I would not return to this Best Western in the future
