"Our new Favorite in Taos."
Pleasant surprise! Good rate! Very spacious room (101). The room was clean and we loved the kiva fireplace! Breakfast was great and more than ample space to enjoy a cup of coffee and bagel with a lovely view of the courtyard. Stafff was friendly and accommodating. Easy walk to downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic Taos Lodge"
If you are going to be in Taos, I hightly recommend the El Pueblo Lodge. There isn't much in this city but small hotels, shopping and resturants. The El Pueblo Lodge is nothing fancy but there isn't much of anything fancy in Taos. The room was nicely decorated, clean and the staff were very, very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Big room"
beautiful place, had in room fireplace, kitchenette, great king size bed, large flat screen TV with HBO would be great for longer staysGenuine Expedia guest review
"Adorable and comfy!"
Our stay here was wonderful from beginning to end! I usually book name hotels and I took a chance on the El Pueblo and we loved it! Taos was my favorite place in New Mexico and this lodge was close to everything I wanted to see. The breakfast was terrific as was the service. The decorating is part of what makes this place so special.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relax and enjoy!"
So happy with this place, we extended our stay even though Hotels.com couldn't get us a room there for the 2nd night. Easy-going, friendly staff. Breakfast was unlike any continental b'fast we've ever had. Within walking distance of the plaza and galleries all over town. Love to go back some day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice motel close to everything."
Great check in, took about 15 seconds. Great room with quiet heat, balcony, comfortable beds. No complaints whatsoever. If I get back to Taos I will want to stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Loved this place!"
Awesome room - upgraded to king suite with fireplace! The bathroom was a little outdated. Had a loveseat. Bed was crazy comfy, and loved the real wood fireplace at night. The lady at the front desk gave us water bottles for free. Good meal and brews at Eske's brew pub, coffee and desert at Dragonfly Cafe right next door to hotel. Had an awesome and […] affordable breakfast at Doc Martins. Cool Taos experience and El Pueblo was the highlight!! Will stay again and for sure get the room with the Kiva Fireplace!!! "Will stay here every time In Taos!"
The Lodge is in a great location. The rooms are clean and comfortable. However, it is the staff that makes this place exceptional The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had a large group and they went out of their way to welcome us and make our stay pleasing. The staff brought us fire wood outside without us asking. They started a fire for […] us in the meeting room without us asking and just went above and beyond to meet and or anticipate our needs. Lupita did a great job hosting the continental breakfast. The food was good and plentiful and displayed nicely. She was friendly and good at her job. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice stay"
Wonderful SW decor, very Chilean and roomy. Easy walk to shopping and dining. Highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Lodge was charming and easy to find. The bed was comfortable. The only down side to the room was that the coffee pot had the used pod still in it from the last guest and was sitting in a place that made it impossible to plug in. The room was clean. The Lodge is very old and there was that "old smell"...I really don't know any other way to describe […] it. Some sort of mild air freshener would have helped. I thought the rates were a bit high but I would recommend it for a brief stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by El Pueblo Lodge We are happy that you found El Pueblo Lodge to be charming and that you had a good nights sleep! Our apologies however for the less than satisfactory issues you had with your room. Our normal high standards of housekeeping practices unfortunately did not seem in place. This will be addressed with the staff . Thank you for your feed back, as this enables us to address problem areas to ensure each guest has a memorable and enjoyable stay.
Rooms were big, clean, and comfortable. Staff was very welcoming. Loved the pool. Location on the edge of town center was convenient and quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Large, attractive room"
We were surprised at how big and nice the room was. It is very near the Fechin house and the plaza. The staff was friendly and helpful. All together, it was a wonderful experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel for the price"
I had a work meeting in Taos but didn't want to pay a lot of money for a work related visit. For a reasonable rate, we were happy to stay. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. I also liked the fact that the hotel was close to the plaza and my meeting venue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Taos' El Publo Resort by JJ Finklestein"
A well maintained 30 plus year old complex of several two story motel buildings, an outdoor pool, free (the best) breakfast and a very well maintained grassy area for kid roaming. Rooms I saw all had mini-patios and chairs and shade from the sun for at least half of the day. The room we had was 13' by 30' (roomy) with windows and doors at each end. […] The bed comfortable, pillows not too accomodating (an opinion). The 42" TV was fed by 80+ Direct TV channels and free HBO multi-channel package. Free Breakfast: Bagels, Taost, English muffins, bananas, cut fruit mix, hot chocolate, coffee and OJ with mini-donuts just for fun. 4 kinds of cereal. Service, par excellence, by a lady who has one rule, don't go away hungry. Staff: Front office, maids, grounds and breakfast lady, all professional and friendly. Safety/security: The property is open on all sides, but the neighborhood seems to be solid, no signs of loitering, drug use or vandalism. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Conveniently located but in a quiet corner of Taos"
Check-in was very warm and welcoming. Got immediate help with problem with the key. Room was clean with nice amenities. Free breakfast was very satisfying. Hotel is located very close to the old town and to the entrance to Taos Pueblo. Overall a great stay. Wished we could stay longer!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excursion to TAOS, NM"
Even without the cooperation of the weather the trip to TAOS was great. So much to see, a woman's paradise for shopping. The Mexican food was great. It was our first experience trying a sweet bread called sopapillas.Genuine Expedia guest review
Clean, close in, yummy breakfast AND pet friendly which was the main concern. That being said, it is a super place that is almost a landmark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable bed and great location."
Stayed at El Pueblo for the first time two years ago during a motorcycle trip. Liked it then and liked it even better this time. The beds are excellent, room is large and clean and they added plasma TVs in the room (perfect during college football season!). The community breakfast area is delightful and a good opportunity to make new friends. El Pueblo […] is walking distance to many great restaurants and there is an excellent local brew pub right across the street. Looking forward to my next stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Plaza, yet quiet"
We liked the location. It was close to the Plaza, yet not in the middle of the crowds. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great.....with lovely outdoor patio seating. The grounds are well kept and quite beautiful. The swimming pool was an extra treat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved This Place"
We were very pleasantly suprised at the wonderful suite. It was beautiful, well equipped and appointed. We were walking distance from town square which was nice. The maintenance crew started yard work a little early and the pool looked quite dirty so we skipped that. Still we would not hesitate to go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Has that vintage feel but with modern amenities and convenience. Staff was courteous, friendly, and polite. Raul and Jade are awesome! Beds were outstanding - so comfortable. "Enjoyed our stay"
Just got back from visit to Taos. I booked this hotel based on other reviews I had read. We enjoyed our stay here very much and it was convenient and within walking distance to town. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. It is an older place but they keep it clean and in order. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I picked El Pueblo because of the rating on Trip Advisor. A charming motel, clean and simple. But what made it great was how warm and inviting it is. The staff is very welcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Everything was perfect and cozy and wonderful. Lupita and Jerry made the morning breakfast a family meal. We LOVED them! The pool is spacious and the hot tub is sizable. CLEAN...CLEAN....CLEAN. And let's not forget the fabulous view of the mountains. We will ALWAYS return here! They get a 10/5 from us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A friend from NZ and I spent the night here and were very happy. The room was clean and had the usual amendities. The pool and spa were great. They are outdoors and it happened to be a full moon that night. Also it is in walking distance of the Plaza in a very safe neighborhoos.I will stay there again for a quick weekend out of the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Welcoming and Cozy"
Our stay was wonderful from the moment we arrived. All of the staff were kind and helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the hotel was close to downtown but did not feel too busy. The hot tub and pool were great as well!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an older, but well run and maintained hotel. It was near downtown (walkable - 4 blks.) convenient to restaurants, museums and galleries. The included breakfast was very good and more substantial than continental breakfasts I have had at many other hotels. Staff was friendly and helpful and parking was free. "Quality motel quality employees convenient locale"
A classic motel with well appointed efficiencies, a very nice open patio and separate areas for grilling and horseshoes. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom had Mexican tile. Altogether tasteful, relaxing and welcoming SW decor. Surprisingly quiet given its proximity to a busy road. The walk to the plaza was about 10 minutes. They set a tone of hospitality […] by providing cookies and lemonade after 3, which our boys appreciated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Met our needs!"
Staff most helpful. Within walking distance of most everythingGenuine Expedia guest review
Pretty much as advertised via other comments. Renovated older facility. Check in and out took mere moments. Beds were very comfortable. Room could use a little more lighting. The breakfast provided was more than sufficient. The location is also within walking distance of just about anything you'd want to do in the city of Taos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Updated motor lodge"
We had a very enjoyable two night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bath were clean and recently painted. The continental breakfast was adequate but made even more pleasant by the friendly staff and the beautiful courtyard area. The large open, tree-covered lawn adjacent to the covered porch and umbrella covered patio tables was delightful. […] It is near the plaza and other shopping areas and restaurants in Taos. The family friendly atmosphere reminded me of family vacations in the 1950's and 1960's when we parked the car in front of our room, we kids jumped into our bathing suits and headed to the pool while dad finished unpacking the car! This is a very fun stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A quiet oasis in a busy town!"
We booked this hotel after reading other positive reviews. The hotel grounds are spacious, green and pretty with lots of areas for sitting, reading, relaxing. Having breakfast outdoors in the garden was also appealing. Our King room felt like a living room at home, with a couch, mini-kitchen, fireplace and loads of space. I loved the quality of the […] small toiletries provided. Our room had a small screened-in balcony which faced the neighbor's yard, which had no appeal at all and we didn't use it. Other rooms had patios facing the gardens which would have been much better. The continental breakfast was great although my husband would have preferred some hot food options. This was my first visit to Taos and I picked this hotel to be close to the downtown shops/restaurants/plaza. I had pictured it being in a small quiet area of the town. But no way! The main road right outside the hotel was extremely busy, noisy and annoying with road works, delays, and tons of constant traffic. So I would recommend this hotel for the grounds alone - to get away from all that noise! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I was misled by the high ratings into thinking that this was a quality establishment. It is not. The staff was courteous and helpful The room was small but clean, and the bed was quite comfortable; however, it is a very old motel, built no earlier than the 1940’s, with few changes since then. In fact the furnishings look like they might have been around […] since the ’40’s. There is no counter of any kind in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi did not work. The breakfast, perhaps would qualify as a continental breakfast, but was barely adequate. There was no hot food, unless you toasted some type of bread yourself. I 'll be generous and give it a 3. "best part of our trip to Taos"
Our trip to Taos was disappointing in many ways, but this hotel was the highlight. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the outdoor areas were well maintained. Even being right off the main road, we didn't hear traffic and we slept with our windows open. Took a dip in the pool and hot tub under the stars and ate breakfast outside in the crisp morning […] air. At breakfast, we learned from the staff that this hotel started as a personal residence and they just kept adding on for boarders. With the grills, horse shoe pit and pool, you could enjoy a few nights here with family. Just not enough to see or do in the surrounding area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
