We liked the hotel. Inside is modern and comfortable. Good location. We had to leave early and couldn't partake of the breakfast, but the restaurant looked very nice. A short walk from the main section of Lucca. Free parking and free Internet are plus points.

Overall, really good! We chose this hotel for the price and for the free parking, as the hotel is located just 1.2 km outside the walls of lovely Lucca. You can drive into the city center and deal with parking fees there, or the hotel rents bikes by the hour, 1/2 day, or day. And the hotel is located right on a cloverleaf of several major roads, overlooking a McDonalds drive-through. In other words, it's not in a charming location, but it's a great budget stay otherwise, and very good good if you want to leave your car and use your feet or the hotel bikes. Read more

overall, the hotel was acceptable. the rooms were very very small, even for Europe. the bathroom was so small that you had to exit the room if you needed to change your mind. no, really, the bathroom had all that you needed but it was too tight. the door is quite akward too. it opened both ways, and when the door was inside, it was impossible to sit […] on the toilet. there was some water damage on the ceiling, room 304, as well as on the walls. i am surprised that there was so much damage for such a new hotel. the shower is also on a high platform, over 14", and the floor tiles are very very slippery when wet, so watch out when you exit the shower, as not to break your head. if you put a towel down on the floor, it is much less trecherous, however the step height is still outside of normal range. so you will find it a bit difficult to adjust. The location is very convenient and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's an Italian four star hotel, the hallway is a bit smelly, so was the room as well, don't expect American standard. The bathroom is nicely designed w marble and spacious.

Hotel itself was fine-clean and relatively new. Downside was the location as it was quite a walk from the city itself and the surrounding area was not great. Can see that it would be fine as a business hotel. Also, the air conditioning was not on and it was quite warm.

Our stay was excellent. The hotel was a short walk from the old city where the activity was. The staff, especially the staff on duty in the late afternoon, went above and beyond and were extremely helpful. The breakfast was quite good and the rates were quite reasonable. Great stay and a nice restaurant too, It is unfortunate that the air conditioning is not turned on until the 1st of June, as it was a bit warm, fortunately the windows could be opened for ventilation. The only disappointment to an otherwise great stay.

Eurostars Toscana is a cute and modern hotel. My husband and I enjoyed every part of our stay there. The beds were comfortable and it was a decently short walk from the train station and the city walls of Lucca. The concierge was very helpful, and of course, spoke English. Unlike other reviewers- I was thankful for the McDonald's next door- it was a […] nice easy snack (no complaints on that one!) If that's a problem for you- then leave the room and enjoy the city you came to see! The walk to the hotel has a part with no sidewalk so you're next to the cars passing- I didn't enjoy that part, but it's wasn't actually a problem. I would have preferred to be within the city walls of Lucca but other places were full, out of our price range, or didn't have as good reviews- so Eurostars Toscana fit what we wanted. It is conveniently off the highway, but we didn't drive and it worked out just fine! Breakfast is the typical Italian assortment of breads, pastries, ham and cheeses, fruit and coffees. Read more

When we arrived in Lucca our first attempt to reach the hotel put us in the MacDonald parking lot next door to the Eurostar. The pictures I saw on Hotels.com looked a lot more razzle dazzle. Could this be the sparkling red brick building in the picture? Our room on the second floor lacked the charm of the “room with a view’ in Florence. Our view was […] the A11 cloverleaf and the MacDonald. But I must say I came around to being very pleased with my choice. The room was clean and modern although the free WiFi only reached the first floor of guest rooms. But I took my laptop down to the lobby and was easily able to download my email. The firm, not hard, mattress offered a good nights sleep. But the best of all was the hotel staff. The front desk clerk who checked us in was most helpful and spent a lot of time answering questions. He made every effort to make our stay pleasant. The maids were great as well. Always offering a smile and a cheerful “Bon giorno”. The included breakfast was a truly varied spread of cheeses, meats, fruits & veggies, breads, yogurt and cereals. Would I stay a week...probably not. But if you were on your way to Florence or points north or south and you wanted to spend the night and take a stroll along the wall of Lucca...the EuroStar Toscana would be a very good choice. This was a great choice to do both Lucca and Pisa. Lucca was 15 min walk and Pisa a 15 min drive with car. Lots of Parking out back. Supermarket very close and other useful places such as banks. The breakfast had a mic of sweet and Savory which was good. The bathroom was a bit small but otherwise good.

While the hotel itself was nice, getting there was incredibly difficult. The postcode and address only brought us so far on the rental GPS. We drove down every road and by road off the villas de Europa and eventually I went online to call the hotel only to be told its tucked in behind the macdonalds we passed so many times. On arrival I was frazzled and no mention of food was made by the receptionist so our first night in Italy was spent I macdonalds!! Not ideal. Free car parking and hotel convieniently located for exploring by car as only just off the motorway.
