"Once there you're at there mercy."
We arrived at the hotel, it took forever for them to find our reservation, when found they told us they were upgrading us to a villa. Never being there before we agreed. The villas were 2 cart rides away and took approximately 20 mins to get there. Once there, we found out that we did not have wi-fi or any coffee maker. They could not resolve the wi-fi […] problem. We requested a room change to the main hotel as promised in the booking. We were told the hotel was overbooked and could not accommodate this. The experience was very bad. Would never recommend this hotel, we did not receive what was booked. We were glad when we left never to come back again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Hilly Haven in Cabo"
I needed quiet, comfort, booze and food - and I found it here! Yes, it's about 45 minutes to an hour from the airport but I was away from party central in town, overlooking the most magnificent ocean. This is the perfect place to do nothing so if you are looking for a young, party crowd this is not the place for you. And it really is on a very steep […] hill where golf carts take you to and fro, but I liked it. Since there are two sister properties in town, they provide you with a free shuttle to take you there and back again. And say you dine or drink at these properties, it all get puts conveniently on to the same bill. Note that the side of the ocean that this property is located on does not allow for swimming due to the rough current so go to the sister locations for that. Otherwise, a very relaxing trip with very friendly staff. Oh, and I ate at La Freida which is one of the restaurants at the hotel - I was not impressed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"What an amazing experience..."
Took a chance booking an Expedia vacation package (1st time doing so) to Cabo and picked this resort based on other reviews. We were pleasantly surprise at the size of the property and amazing accommodations, the level of service and the beauty of the entire property. Did not know they has flamingos, parakeets, peacocks, cockatoos, etc. on the property […] -- very exotic. Beds were super comfortable. Staff was overly accommodating and freindly. Will definitely return... hoping to do so again very soon! The only think I would do differently would be to reserve a private car ($95) from the airport to the resort because it took us an hour to get out of the airport waiting for a shuttle ($22 per person) -- then another 45 min drive to the resort property -- as it's the furthest down the beach. We were lucky we only had 1 other stop to make before we got to PB Sunset, the drive could have been longer. Other than that -- a perfectly fabulous getaway trip! "OUR STAY WAS ENJOYABLE AND MEMORABLE."
MY FAMILY VACATION WAS SO MUCH FUN. THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL,HELPFUL STAFF OF PUEBLO BONITO SUNSET. EVERYONE IN THIS RESORT WAS FRIENDLY, AND WARM. THE PLACE WAS QUIET,THE CROWD OF VACATIONERS WERE ALL PLEASANT AND THE EXPERIENCE OF ENJOYING EACH SUNRISE THRU SUNSETS WAS UNDESCRIBABLY WONDERFUL. THE ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE MADE A DELEC- TABLE EXPERIENCE […] FOR US, THE OMELETS, THE SEAFOOD BUFFET, THE VARIETY OF CHOICES AT THE BISTRO WAS ALL BELLY-FILLING. "Best place to stay in Cabo"
Previous guests have complained about this or that, etc...Tough to please everyone. However, our stay at P.B. Sunset was truly amazing. We all had a great time! This place was immaculate, large, spacious, and well kept. We got to visit the other sister hotels (Rose and White), and both places don't come close to P.B. Sunset. The beaches are filled with […] vendors. However, you can do water sports, and other activities that you can't do at P.B. Sunset. The all-inclusive package is the way to go. There are multiple restaurants to go visit. The La Nao (a restaurant) offers themed nights so their food line up changes daily, i.e., Mediterranean, Argentinean food to give you an idea. Golf carts are the way to get around. They are very convenient and easy to call for one when needed. FYI: Guests cannot swim on the beach. They say the current is too strong and not safe for swimmers. There are 6 pools scattered onsite. The main pool offers a swim up bar. Staff are friendly, and accomodating. Rooms are fairly large. A microwave, full size ref, stainless steel utensils are all included in all rooms. All rooms offer a balcony with a great view of the ocean. Sunrise and esp. the sunset were breath taking. "Great location, nice facility, terrible service"
Sunset Beach is in a wonderful location on an unspoiled beach with jaw-dropping sunsets every night. While individual members of staff were good, the 'management' were terrible - more interested in selling timeshares than fixing problems. "Best Stay in Cabo Yet!"
This hotel could be it's own town it's so enormous. However, they do have golf carts that shuttle you around 24/7 if you aren't the walking type. They have an amazing staff that caters to you and tries to accommodate your every need. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms are large and very clean, bed is not the most comfortable, can […] still get rest though. The patios are large and I believe every room has an ocean view. They have so many pools but we used the main pool where there is music and activities, and easy access to walk to the beach and watch the sunset or whales. We stayed at building 40 which was a perfect location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful resort, but resort is on VERY steep hill so it's not kid friendly, especially not stroller friendly. Restaurants are good, but although its all inclusive, they tell you once you arrive that tips are not included and the staff expects tips. We always tip at all inclusives just because we get better service and its kind, but to be expected to […] tip $30-50 per meal is not ALL inclusive to me. Most beautiful and pristine/secluded beach though. Bummer the resort was not family friendly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good secluded hotel, with lots of space"
We were a family of 4, with 2 kids aged 5 and 1. I booked this hotel based on reviews on expedia. The good things about the hotel were it decent sized rooms, view of the ocean and a pretty well maintained property. The staff including waiters and cleaning crew were pretty good. And there were many pools like zero feet etc and were never too crowded, […] which was a plus. Contrary to what some other reviews suggested, we did not feel very harassed by the timeshare people. But few things here was pretty bad. The front desk and the first check-in was the worst. I had read about it but did not expect it to be really this difficult. After a long flight, it can really leave a bad taste. Except for giving the keys they are pretty much useless for anything else, including answering questions, helping with room choices etc. The golf cart to go around the property is another pain point. You have to wait for a cart each time you want to get out. While there were various food places, most places need reservations so anything last minute was out of the question, a problem when u have kids. They did not have open buffets for lunch and dinner. I had also expected to use room service, but they don't have a room service menu and delivery times were pretty long. While it was a good stay, I would probably not go back to it again next time. At least not for individual families. I am not an owner and had booked all-inclusive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is a great place to stay, as long as you do not have a need to be in the ocean on-site. On Pacific side of Baja. We were not allowed to swim in the ocean. Otherwise the hotel is fantastic in just about every other way. Beautiful grounds and landscaping. Ultra-clean rooms, and marvelous service, All inclusive works great. Other than the pool service (thank you to Daniel) service was slow. Several times we had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for table at breakfast and coffee never seemed to appear. Quality of food was much better than other all inclusive - but constant requirement to sign bills (for everything, including a glass of water) and accompanying expectation of tip […] for everything slowed everything down and honestly made resort stay a bit uncomfortable. Daniel at the pool made our day! He wAtched over us all day and took care of us with a smile and absolutely positive attitude. This was important as Beach was unusable as water is unsafe in that area. Wish we had known that. Pool activities for kids/pre_teens were basically nonexistant. In fact, organized pool volleyball was only for 16+. My kids were constantly disappointed. We were there Christmas week - so lots of kids - but nothing for this age group. Location is away from everything - pictures make it look like it's close to town - it is not. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
we were there for 6 days could not get a reservation at their best restaurant, which when we passed by was never completely filled-other restaurants limited us to times yet it would take 10 to 15 minutes to be seated-check in and out very slow-concierge helpful but very slow, again at least 1/2 hour to be serviced--the hotel was very clean and the pool, […] room and wait staff very kind and helpful, but the management is totally inefficient-the problem is that while it says it is "All Inclusive", it gives preference to the time share owners of the property and those not on the plan Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Picture perfect Christmas Family vacation"
Great resort, beautifully located, well appointed. Great food and drinks, took all inclusive package and put it to use! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, really made it feel like a home away from home, especially during the holidays. Never waited for golf carts to zip around the property, pretty much didn't have to wait long for any amenity or service, […] all available quickly, with minimal lines, impressed as resort appeared to be at high capacity. The only caveat, pack your own pillow. Bed pillows were too too stiff, the whole family felt this way. After a day of sun, pool drinks and outdoor activities, the zzzzz's came quickly! "Nice hotel on the hills with a great view of ocean"
Great staff, food and amazing view of the ocean. Very luxurious to spend time at this resort. The rooms were spacious and getting the executive suite with the zacuzzi was worth the extra bucks. One recommendation for food is that they should have a couple of snack booths around the resort for "to go" meals and drinks. Even coffee was not "to go" and […] inclusive. You have to pay for that if you want to just have coffee and not dine in. When you dine in, at least expect over an hour to eat. Service for a sit down meal has been consistently over an hour wait time. You really have to be on a very leisurely pace at this resort. Everything takes a lot of time. However, the resort provides great food if you can wait and luxurious clean atmosphere with the pictureque view of the ocean. That alone gives it a great vacation feel. "Rude workers and slow shuttle . Beautiful scenery"
Beautiful views from all rooms and gorgeous pools can't mAke up for rude employees. Very few of waiters were friendly throughout hotel. Golf carts were slow but at least drivers were nice. Food was just ok , about what you expect from all inclusive. Front desk workers were also so so nice. No welcome , just here is your room. Went and met my sister […] who was suppose to be in suite. That didn't happen and they even moved her half way through stay. Just don't get it. 5 star. Must have rated it based on pools. We still had fun but would have liked it if staff was nice. Especially because I was tipping a lot because it was Christmas. Do a lot of inclusives and won't go back. Seafood night was a joke. Stayed at sister resort last time and they were much nicer . Guess I'll try differnt property. I don't recommend but not because of hotel but because we felt like we were begging for drinks . No wash clothes left in rooms ever. Few good point. Lobby bar waitress was really nice. She need help though. Glasses stacked up all over bar. Fail Mexico. This has been 6th time in cabo. Won't go back for awhile. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel with great all-inclusive package."
All of the rooms seem to be well positioned with great views. The all-inclusive is definitely worthwhile. "Beautiful grounds, Pretty good overall"
PB Sunset is beautiful. Impeccable grounds, pretty flowers, flamingos, swans and great views of the Pacific Ocean. Everyone who works there is super nice, always saying hello as they walk by. The food was pretty good, although I thought I read somewhere there were like 5 or 6 restaurants, but we could only find 2 that were actually included in the all […] inclusive deal, so eating was a little limited for the 4 nights we were there. We went Sept 16, so right in the middle of hurricane Manuel made the weather anything but friendly. Although it actually only thunderstormed 1 night, it threatened 3 of the 4 night we were there, so doing any of the water activities were out of the question. And speaking of the other activities, I knew to expect people pressuring us to do activities, but it was a little excessive. Whenever we went to eat, someone approached us, whenever we walked into the lobby, someone approached us, when we walked past the front door of the lobby, one of the concierge approached us. It was hard to be polite after awhile! For being such a nice place, the pushiness to buy a timeshare got to be irritating after a couple days, especially when they were offering free "activities" that couldn't really be done with thunderstorms looming in the foreground. With that being said, it was still a great time, the views were great, room was nice, although the pillows a little hard for my taste, everyone was nice, pool was fantastic, would def recommend. "Beautiful property but disappointing service!"
Our room was very clean and the property itself is beautiful, however the service was very disappointing for such a high priced resort. The rooms Do not have any water, soda or alcohol in them and good luck getting bottles water to take to your rooms! They treat it as hold and do not want to give you any even if you are traveling with an infant and […] need it for formula. Also the service was mostly slow and you have to wait for hold carts to take you to your rooms and to pools as the resort is set on a very high elevation. Even though we paid for the all inclusive the staff wants you sign for everything to eat and drink at the restuarants which is also quite annoying. My husband and I gave stated at plenty of all inclusives through out Mexico and picked thus one based on mostly favorable reviews. We will not go back to a Pueblo Bonito resort again. Even the Riu service was better unfortunately, and it was quite cheaper. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice Resort with fantastic views."
Great experience. I would come back again. The All-Inclusive Package was a fantastic deal.Genuine Expedia guest review
Sunset Beach is a great place to stay for those who have more time to spare. While viewing the reviews, I didn't see any reviews on being golf carted around the property. Sunset Beach is a large property where one will need to be golf carted around to get from your room to any one location. Most times, the golf carts arrive 5-10 mins..but we have waited […] longer 20 mins + at other times. It can be frustrating when you have a reservation to get to on the property or waiting to get to your shuttle bus which leaves on the dot on the hour. If you have the extra days and time, this property is great for those who aren't time pressed due to the extra time in getting picked up and golf carted around. Being a 4+ star hotel in Cabo, the hotel can be less aggressive w/ their time sharing attempts. Watch out for the 'welcome desk' as it's really a desk dedicated to try to sell you time share. There are also time sharing reps walking around the Bistro trying to sell time share. Some things to look out for: Your hotel bill at the end of your stay. This hotel automatically adds on a 'donation' to each day of your stay. It's minimal & can be removed when requested. The hotel does not give you the option until you take notice. So beware. If you are all inclusive, beware of the staff padding your bill to gain a higher tip. We were overcharged 6 out of the 7 times we dined at the restaurants on this property. We would get billed for a dab of refill w/ water and they padded drinks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Beach hotel. However, you can not swim in the ocean from this hotel. You can walk along the beach but you can not swim. This was an issue for us because we did want to spend time in the water. The hotel does have a free shuttle that will take you to their sister hotel where you can swim in the sea which is fine just […] a little inconvenient. That being said this is a very nice hotel with a lot of amenities. We purchased the all inclusive package which worked out well for us. We did enjoy the restaurants we went to. The pools were great especially the sky pool. All staff was friendly and courteous. It really couldn't have gone much better. "Gorgeous resort away from the main tourist area."
Every person encountered at the resort was more than helpful and courteous. They spoke English and Spanish and accepted both US and Mexican forms of currency. We had an all inclusive deal and were never surprised with unexpected charges. We took about $200 in cash for tips for a 5 day stay and wished we had about $50 more. The food was a 3.5 out of […] 5 and the rooms were excellent. Pool side service and drinks were excellent. The ocean can be seen from just about every place on site, but you cannot swim in it here due to dangerous rip currents. You will be asked to attend a timeshare presentation, but in return they offer discounts on various activities, spa treatment, or hotel credit. There were free shuttles into town to the sister resorts which offer beach swimming. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"exellent resort! I will recomment this resort!"
This resort was recommended by a friend and it was one of the most beautiful resort I've seen. We rented a car from the airport and drove to the resort. The resort is on the higher side of the hill and the entrance was so beautiful. The huge resort was beautifully maintained by many people trimming and cleaning everywhere all the time. We stayed at […] the executive suite that has 1 bedroom and 2 bathroom and the shower is big enough for 2 people. The beds were too soft for us and my husband prefered to sleep on the sofa bed that was hard enough for him which worked great for us since he could watch news while children and I watched HBO movies until we fell a sleep. We had the all inclusive deal which also included the alcohol. Yes Alcohol!!! great margarita and pina colada at the Bar near the main lobby. The margarita at the poolside was just so so. The food was really good at the Bistro restaurant and La Nao if you order from the menu. Not so good on the buffet. My family prefered to eat at the Bistro for breakfast rather than going to La Nao for breakfast buffet. You should definetely go to La Frida one day during your stay. $20 per person is definately worth it! From salad, soup, appetiser, entree to the desert, it was to die for. 4 course diner with some extra that lasted almost 3 hours . wine was also great which was also included. Beautiful resort and wonderful room. Food was amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location is amazing, the facility is huge, on the surface it does not get any better than that, So I booked the vacation asking for a room with two Queen size beds, also called the hotel directly to confirm. As we checked in we were told that "your all inclusive package includes some of our finest 4 and 5 stars restaurants but there is a surcharge […] per person $10-$20, so I guess it is not all inclusive?! The room had two double size beds when I called to ask for the Queen size beds that we ordered I was told that "These are Mexican Queen size beds". The buffet both morning and evenings was just about average, we stayed in Cancun, Punta Cana, Jamaica all of which were so much better! The room was a nice size but the T.V is small and the quality of the picture was terrible, also the room did not give you that luxury feeling that ones pays for. The hotel is built on the mountain side so in order for one to get from one place to another, you will need to ride the hotels golf carts on very bumpy and curvy roads, not a very nice feeling right after dinner! Wi Fi and internet services are very limited, and even at the places where they suppose to work, they don't always work. Transportation to their other locations (Pueblo Bonito Rose and Blanco) which is at Medano Beach where we could swim is offered via shuttle services, however you need to book your seats in advance, they have limited seating at certain time, long story short we ended up paying for Taxis. "Awesome Honeymoon hotel!"
First of all I will be returning to this hotel in the future! Its awesome! When I first walked in I was in awe at how beautiful everything was. The property is HUGE and beautiful! The sheer size of the property makes it feel like youre almost there alone, you barely see many people which is great! This hotel has 5 different pools, the skypool is breathtaking […] since its at the very top of the property and it feels like you are on top of the world with a VIP view of the ocean. The main pool gets a little crowded but there are 4 other pools to take advantage of if you want a little more privacy. The staff was awesome and very helpful especially the pool bar staff! Tip them and they will treat you like a king. My fiancee and I were taken care of very quickly each and everytime we were at the pools. Roberto and Daniel at the main pool are awesome! All inclusive is a must. The food was great at The Bistro and La Nao (two of the 3 restaurants at the hotel). La Nao has an absolutely awesome breakfast buffet every morning. The all inclusive at this hotel also gets you all inclusive at the sister resort hotels Los Cabos and Rose. The food was better at Sunset Beach but not bad at the other two at all. Sunset Beach has a way better atmosphere than Los Cabos and Rose. The Rose seemed like it was more of a crowded family/party/cheap hotel compared to Sunset Beach. Sunset Beach was AMAZING.
