"Very nice Resort with fantastic views."
Great experience. I would come back again. The All-Inclusive Package was a fantastic deal.Genuine Expedia guest review
Sunset Beach is a great place to stay for those who have more time to spare. While viewing the reviews, I didn't see any reviews on being golf carted around the property. Sunset Beach is a large property where one will need to be golf carted around to get from your room to any one location. Most times, the golf carts arrive 5-10 mins..but we have waited […] longer 20 mins + at other times. It can be frustrating when you have a reservation to get to on the property or waiting to get to your shuttle bus which leaves on the dot on the hour. If you have the extra days and time, this property is great for those who aren't time pressed due to the extra time in getting picked up and golf carted around. Being a 4+ star hotel in Cabo, the hotel can be less aggressive w/ their time sharing attempts. Watch out for the 'welcome desk' as it's really a desk dedicated to try to sell you time share. There are also time sharing reps walking around the Bistro trying to sell time share. Some things to look out for: Your hotel bill at the end of your stay. This hotel automatically adds on a 'donation' to each day of your stay. It's minimal & can be removed when requested. The hotel does not give you the option until you take notice. So beware. If you are all inclusive, beware of the staff padding your bill to gain a higher tip. We were overcharged 6 out of the 7 times we dined at the restaurants on this property. We would get billed for a dab of refill w/ water and they padded drinks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Beach hotel. However, you can not swim in the ocean from this hotel. You can walk along the beach but you can not swim. This was an issue for us because we did want to spend time in the water. The hotel does have a free shuttle that will take you to their sister hotel where you can swim in the sea which is fine just […] a little inconvenient. That being said this is a very nice hotel with a lot of amenities. We purchased the all inclusive package which worked out well for us. We did enjoy the restaurants we went to. The pools were great especially the sky pool. All staff was friendly and courteous. It really couldn't have gone much better. You really don't have to leave the hotel at all unless you want to swim in the sea. Hotel has everything you need for a vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous resort away from the main tourist area."
Every person encountered at the resort was more than helpful and courteous. They spoke English and Spanish and accepted both US and Mexican forms of currency. We had an all inclusive deal and were never surprised with unexpected charges. We took about $200 in cash for tips for a 5 day stay and wished we had about $50 more. The food was a 3.5 out of […] 5 and the rooms were excellent. Pool side service and drinks were excellent. The ocean can be seen from just about every place on site, but you cannot swim in it here due to dangerous rip currents. You will be asked to attend a timeshare presentation, but in return they offer discounts on various activities, spa treatment, or hotel credit. There were free shuttles into town to the sister resorts which offer beach swimming. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"exellent resort! I will recomment this resort!"
This resort was recommended by a friend and it was one of the most beautiful resort I've seen. We rented a car from the airport and drove to the resort. The resort is on the higher side of the hill and the entrance was so beautiful. The huge resort was beautifully maintained by many people trimming and cleaning everywhere all the time. We stayed at […] the executive suite that has 1 bedroom and 2 bathroom and the shower is big enough for 2 people. The beds were too soft for us and my husband prefered to sleep on the sofa bed that was hard enough for him which worked great for us since he could watch news while children and I watched HBO movies until we fell a sleep. We had the all inclusive deal which also included the alcohol. Yes Alcohol!!! great margarita and pina colada at the Bar near the main lobby. The margarita at the poolside was just so so. The food was really good at the Bistro restaurant and La Nao if you order from the menu. Not so good on the buffet. My family prefered to eat at the Bistro for breakfast rather than going to La Nao for breakfast buffet. You should definetely go to La Frida one day during your stay. $20 per person is definately worth it! From salad, soup, appetiser, entree to the desert, it was to die for. 4 course diner with some extra that lasted almost 3 hours . wine was also great which was also included. "Best vacation location so far."
Beautiful resort and wonderful room. Food was amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location is amazing, the facility is huge, on the surface it does not get any better than that, So I booked the vacation asking for a room with two Queen size beds, also called the hotel directly to confirm. As we checked in we were told that "your all inclusive package includes some of our finest 4 and 5 stars restaurants but there is a surcharge […] per person $10-$20, so I guess it is not all inclusive?! The room had two double size beds when I called to ask for the Queen size beds that we ordered I was told that "These are Mexican Queen size beds". The buffet both morning and evenings was just about average, we stayed in Cancun, Punta Cana, Jamaica all of which were so much better! The room was a nice size but the T.V is small and the quality of the picture was terrible, also the room did not give you that luxury feeling that ones pays for. The hotel is built on the mountain side so in order for one to get from one place to another, you will need to ride the hotels golf carts on very bumpy and curvy roads, not a very nice feeling right after dinner! Wi Fi and internet services are very limited, and even at the places where they suppose to work, they don't always work. Transportation to their other locations (Pueblo Bonito Rose and Blanco) which is at Medano Beach where we could swim is offered via shuttle services, however you need to book your seats in advance, they have limited seating at certain time, long story short we ended up paying for Taxis. "We stayed at this hotel for our 20th Anaversery."
The views are stunning. But every time we wanted to eat dinner we had to have a reservation. You had to make them in day or you would not get one. Service was slow on everything. Most of the time that was ok. Unless you are very hungry. Also needed Golf cart to get around, had to wate for them to come too. But all in all I enjoyed my stay and will come […] back. "Awesome Honeymoon hotel!"
First of all I will be returning to this hotel in the future! Its awesome! When I first walked in I was in awe at how beautiful everything was. The property is HUGE and beautiful! The sheer size of the property makes it feel like youre almost there alone, you barely see many people which is great! This hotel has 5 different pools, the skypool is breathtaking […] since its at the very top of the property and it feels like you are on top of the world with a VIP view of the ocean. The main pool gets a little crowded but there are 4 other pools to take advantage of if you want a little more privacy. The staff was awesome and very helpful especially the pool bar staff! Tip them and they will treat you like a king. My fiancee and I were taken care of very quickly each and everytime we were at the pools. Roberto and Daniel at the main pool are awesome! All inclusive is a must. The food was great at The Bistro and La Nao (two of the 3 restaurants at the hotel). La Nao has an absolutely awesome breakfast buffet every morning. The all inclusive at this hotel also gets you all inclusive at the sister resort hotels Los Cabos and Rose. The food was better at Sunset Beach but not bad at the other two at all. Sunset Beach has a way better atmosphere than Los Cabos and Rose. The Rose seemed like it was more of a crowded family/party/cheap hotel compared to Sunset Beach. Sunset Beach was AMAZING. Any and every trip I take to Cabo for now on I will stay at Sunset Beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"WORST FOOD QUALITY EVER"
We paid over $5000 for family of 4, nothing what they advertise about PABULO BONITO HOTELS. The food was terrible. very bad quality in any way you can imagine. The staff were nice, no complain about those poor people. extremely understaff at all their 3 restaurants, we had all inclusive but the food was so bad that we went to the city many time to eat. […] I would let everyone know , do not stay there, No internet connection , You call for room service it would take minimum of 45 to one hour to get to your room. unless you spend the first day reading all the paper they provide to your regarding reservations for dinner, you all out of luck for having dinner, and your only choice is eating at their Bistro, the food that you wouldn't give to yours dog. Expedia needs to find better hotels. Drinks for all inclusive guests were mostly full of sugar not a real drinks. smoothies just make of sugar and processed coloring. do not go there at all. we are not picky people , this is first time we are writing reviews but we don't want people wast their money at this hotel. we visited all their 3 sister hotels , not much better , food zero class quality Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel but far from downtown"
The hotel is really nice but you have to ask for a specific building to be near the lobby, eating places and swimming pool. If you are housed far from those facilities, you are going to end up waiting and taking the golf cart to bring you from point A to point B. If you want to go on retreat, this is an ideal hotel; it is several miles away from downtown […] Cabo San Lucas. One thing that I don't like is the shuttle going to Rose, I have to get the tickets a day before in order to go downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"ok hotel, lacks a true Cabo experience"
Hotel is a taxi ride away from town which is a pain. Unable to walk anywhere via the beach. We waited in lines for everything from check in, to waiting for a golf cart to take us to our room or anywhere in the hotel (hotel is huge and very steep so if you're old or its hard for you to hike around beware), 40+ minute wait every night for dinner, as well […] as a line to check out and another line for the shuttle to the airport. Service was awful. If I needed to call the lobby the phone would ring for 5 minutes straight before someone would pick up. Room service took 2 hours and by the time they came I had fallen asleep. There wasn't enough chairs for the guests at ALL of the pools, music was terrible if there was even music playing at all. We won't be returning to this hotel and wish we had stayed in town instead. The only plus was the ocean view and good food but you can get that almost everywhere else in Cabo. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel is impressed to look at but not pratical for getting around. Considering we were on an all-inclusive rate, we only had 2 hotel restaurants to chose from...This is a much lower number of restaurants than all the other all-inclusive resorts we have stayed at in the past. Because of this, you could not get seated if you did not have a reservation. […] We had to order room service in order to eat the first night we were there. Room service menu was adequate however it typically took ninety minutes for delivery. Often the food delivered was not correct. Difficult to get around the hotel without having to jump on golf carts. During our booking, we were not informed the beach at Pueblo Bonito Sunset resort was not open to public. When we wanted to go to the beach we had to jump on a shuttle to go to the other Pueblo bonito resorts (Rose and White). We were also not aware the shuttle reservation was only one way. We had to take a taxi back to Sunset or wait another 4 hrs before the shuttle had open space for our party. Finally, The internet connection we purchased (two machines) was very poor and kept losing connectivity. Even though we purchased the option for 2 machines we could not login the 2 machines at the same time. In short, we were disappointed with the facilities and our stay. "Beautiful Hotel. Too big."
This hotel was beautiful. The pools were great, the rooms were nice, the service was good. Unfortunately, it was not was we anticipated in the pictures. It is somewhat far from other resorts and things to do in town. It is the furthest resort that I have been to from the airport and kind of difficult to find. The resort is huge. You have to take a golf […] cart to get from one area to another. You can choose to walk if you want, however, many would find this very difficult. Call way in advance for a golf cart, as it took 15-20 minutes for one to arrive and in many cases we had to call twice. The pools are spread throughout the resort and you MUST take the golf cart to get to most of them. There were only a couple of restaurants on site. We went to breaksfast the first morning and waited over 45 minutes just to get seated. You had to make reservations for dinner and the wait wasn't so long. The last complaint I had was there really wasn't any entertainment for us. I have been to many other resorts that have entertainment for their guests. Things like movies, live music, different themed nights, they did not have anything for us to do except go to the bar or watch TV in your room. If you want to go on vacation for relaxation and to be away from everything, this would be the place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Not up to my expectations of such a highly rated hotel. The food quality was extremely disappointing. Go somewhere else if you are expecting good food as part of your all-inclusive package. Beautiful hotel. Great food, great drinks and great staff. The check out process was a bit annoying though. We had an all inclusive package and some how we had a balance at check out. "Sister hotels are just as good. All inclusive was"
Great hotel food was incredible. Sister hotels are just as good. All inclusive was worth every dollar.Genuine Expedia guest review
My family stayed here May 18-25, 2013 on the all inclusive plan and were extremely pleased. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, it is built into the mountainside situated on the Pacific Ocean. It is very spread out, with many villas so it took a few days to become acclimated. If you enjoy walking and getting some exercise, this is definitely the place […] for you. There are also golf carts that will pick you up and drop you off if you wish. We never waited more than 5 minutes if we called for a pickup. The staff are very courteous at all times and keep the grounds and accommodations immaculate. The food at the hotel is very good and we felt there were many choices, traditional dishes or those with a Mexican flair. There is one buffet restaurant, and two restaurants where you can order from the menu. La Frida carries a surcharge of $20 per person (on the all inclusive plan), but it was very upscale and we felt it was worth the extra money. They also had 2 sister hotels located downtown (Rose and Blanco) where you had access to their restaurants and bars. This is where you can swim on the beach. The shuttle bus would take you from Sunset Beach to Rose and Blanco, which are right next to each other. The hotels also had theme dinners with a show several of the nights outside at one of the pools. A taxi into town cost about $12 where there are many shops, bars/restaurants, and a beautiful marina. Cabo San Lucas has everything you could want in a vacation, it was awesome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel with poor service"
This is a perfect example of how a business grows rapidly and in the process forget an important component of service which is a must in this kind of industry. All the golf cart drivers and hotel servers seems to be lost. There does not seem to be a system. It was pretty frustrating to not able to get from one place to the other without an hassle. It […] takes for ever to get food on the table. All inclusive plan is looked down up on, not sure if the server thinks he is not getting any tips or what? It is a beautiful location and the built of the resort is stellar but the people working there need more training on greeting etc. I have never seen a golf cart race over the narrow paths while people are walking. No greeting etc. It is definitely not a place for disabled people. You need reservations at all the restaurants and if you are late good luck!! Imagine not having reservations and hanging out with two young kids. Rooms service I guess!! Btw do not take a shuttle to other resorts, you need a reservation and make sure to buy a return ticket. We took a 830 shuttle to Rose and were told to catch the 1030 shuttle back. We come back for the shuttle and they tell us it is sold out, we should have bought a return ticket not oneway...What!! why was I not give a return ticket in the first place, why would I stay back in Rose!! All this especially with 2 kids!! Ridiculous. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Plenty of pool options"
My wife and I stayed 6 days, 5 nights at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. The hotel is built on a big rock, feels modernly designed and has all what you need to spend good vacations. The pools are really great, there is a type of pool for everybody: kids pool, cocktails-pool, book-readers pool and the best one: the skyline pool. This one overlooks […] the hotel and the ocean front, it's the best. Except that the waiters are slacking a bit more than the rest of the hotel because their bosses are busy at the lobby trying to sell timeshare to clueless customers. To move around we used golf carts, which is fun but annoying when you get off it, because the driver expects $2 tips. If you decide to not use the carts, then you have to use the same roads and it's kinda dangerous because they drive fast. The restaurants are "okay", La Frida is over-rated and they charge you $20 per person even if you have all-inclusive. The Bistro is noisy but the food is good. The best option for us was the La Nao which has a different theme every night, is by the beach and is quiet. We made sure we sit outside every time. The room was pretty big and had a nice view, but very noisy (you can hear people above you walking around). The service is good but you always feel oppressed to tip, tip and tip even more. Cart driver: tip. Waiter bringing you a glass of water: tip. Maid leaving a note: tip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great resort with many amenities, gorgeous views"
The service was outstanding and food was excellent. We chose the all-inclusive package and we were happy we did. We did not mind walking and climbing up the stairs (the resort is literally built on a mountain) but golf carts were readily available to get around. Pools were nice (especially the sky pool) but there were not enough umbrellas to protect […] against the shade and I ended up getting sun- burned. It was crowded at the pools but we were still able to get chairs, we just couldn't get an umbrella! "Relaxing get away at an AMAZING resort"
The resort is amazing! We had the all-inclusive package and for us, it was well worth it (however, we did have the Super Executive Suite and it had a kitchen). Food was good at all of the restaurants/pools (Note: Even with the all-inclusive, you had to pay $20/person for La Frida and $15/person for seafood night at La Nao) and we were never sick. Absolutely […] no problems with drinking water. Be aware of the constant badgering of attending a time share presentation. Three people approached us at the airport before we got on the shuttle to the resort (which delayed us about 45 minutes) and once we got to the resort, we were asked twice on the first afternoon (once while eating!). The next morning at breakfast they asked us and the next day at lunch (very annoying). If you have never been to the resort, be sure to ask for a map of the resort at the lobby and inquire about the shuttles to the other resorts. Gym is fully equipped and pools, rooms, and grounds are beautiful. There is access to the beach, but you cannot go in the water (waves are huge and not safe). You must visit the sister resorts in order to go in the ocean, but beware of beach vendors trying to sell you stuff. This resort is ideal for those who want a relaxing getaway. If you want to go into town or need night life, you have to use the shuttle or take a taxi. Not the place to stay if looking for party scene each day of your trip.
