"Cabo Family Vacation"
The hotel was lovely and the grounds were beautiful, however, we were disappointed with the constant smell and noise of the golf carts throughout the entire day and evening. They should have separate walking paths from the golf carts as we felt that we could have been run over at any given moment. In addition, we were disappointed that we couldn't swim […] in the ocean, however, understood that it was a safety rule. Yet, the hotel should of had lounge chairs and activities occuring on the beach instead of making everyone crowd around the pools. And, trying to find a lounge chair in the pool areas after 7:30 am was impossible! We also did not like the "all inclusive" as there weren't many restaurants included that didn't force an upcharge. We ended up going to dinner in town as we got tired of the all inclusive food very fast. The maid service was challenging. When we first arrived, the room was very clean, however, as the week progressed, the maids simply refreshed our towels and cleaned up a bit and it didn't feel as clean as it should have been. The rooms temperature was hard to control and the water pressure in the shower was very low during peak times. On the positive side, the security was fantastic and we felt very comfortable letting our kids run around the resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Upgrades not worth the money."
We paid for an executive suite with a jacuzzi tub that was supposed to be 1300 sq ft. What we got was a regular size room and a we're sorry. No free wi-fi. The check in is a joke, check in is at 4:00 pm and they will not give out room keys until then, as which there is a huge line of people waiting to get their rooms. The Hotel, the views, the place, the service, the food, the pools, and everything was wonderful. The service was the best. It's a perfect place for couples, very quiet. It's also a wonderful place for families, but be aware that the beach is open to the Pacific Sea and is not for swimming, but you can always enjoy the sand of the beach, the wildness […] of the waves and the whales close to the beach. If you want a go to the beach for swimming, the hotel provide shuttle to Pueblo Bonito Blanco and Rose, the other two Hotels in Playa Medano, a very noisy and busy place. "There's better options."
We have traveled to Cabo San Lucas for 15 yrs now. My wife and I felt this resort was the most depressing & dissapointing place we have ever stayed at. After using Expidia 3 years in a row to venture there it's apparent the properties aren't concerned about placement of the Expidia guest. IF you are a time share holder @ Sunset you are trapped there. […] We should have listened to the reviews from others instead of thinking those people were hard to please. Most of the poor reviews we read we did experience ourselves. If you want to experience Cabo this is not the place for you. It's off the beaten path. You can only enjoy the view of the ocean but not touch it. The pools are small and packed. The service @ the Sky Pool was a joke. The rooms and all-inclusive prices are VERY high. The golf cart thinking is interesting only to become a waiting game. There is a "service charge" on every tab. No other all-inclusive place does that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for Families"
Beautiful hotel with great views but challenging terrain ( very hilly). Although golf cart transportation is available we did some walking as it seemed sometimes faster. The beach is not swimmable! Hotel has a lot of pools to choose from including the sky pool all the way on top of the hill, with an amazing views of the pacific ocean. The all incisive […] option worked out great for us ( 2 adults and one teenager), beware that the La Frida Restaurant is included with an extra $20 per person charge. Well worth the money! This would have rated all 5's except we were put into a room that was under construction the 1st 2 days. After we were switched, everything was 5's and the beauty was unbelievable. We traveled to Cabo in February with another family. We loved the location for it's proximity to Cabo San Lucas. The shuttle service to the other Pueblo Bonito hotels in Cabo was a nice feature. "Gorgeous location, yet timeshare sales a turnoff"
Beautiful ocean views! The only issue I had was the remote location. Due to the steep hillside location, you needed a golf cart to shuttle from restaurants, pool and lobby which was a little inconvenient. The smell of exhaust from all the golf carts was prevalent from our patio as well. The staff, for the most part was excellent! I would have given […] the resort even higher marks had it not been for the HEAVY sales atmosphere. Timeshares a big business in Cabo, so you have to be ready for assorted sales tactics that I didn't appreciate. Even with the little drawbacks, we had a wonderful time! "Excellent All Inclusive"
I have traveled extensively, prefer 5 star hotels, and this was my second experience at an all inclusive. (First time in Barbados food and service were awful!). We were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, unlimited bar drinks, (best pina coladas EVER!!) Staff was excellent, friendly, and were very appreciative when you tipped, but you never […] felt it was expected. Pools lovely, we used the very upper pool with fantastic view, with wonderful choice and quality of food and drinks. Our room was in buidllig 24, newer, gigantic, really nice and loved the 2 bathrooms. You really didn't need to leave the resort. Town typical Mexican tourist stuff, and drove to Todos Santos, which was a huge disappointment, just another tourist trap that had nothing special that town doesn't have and its well over an hours drive away. Good rooms, good food at a very fair price...lots of up and down climbing, but there are plenty of shuttles available to take care of that...if you get a room up the hill from the lobby you will hear the hvac units making noise all day/night and not hear the ocean waves...if good Internet service is important in your room, it might not be what you need, […] it was a disaster for us and there was no urgency to get it to work..they don't have the proper amount of modems to cover all the rooms Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing place for a getaway"
Wonderful resort & very pleasant staff. The hotel was very beautiful. It had an amazing view of the beach. There are also different pool areas throughout the resort that offer drinks and food. The staff is very quick to serve you and I did not have to wait at all for food/drinks/service. This is a very relaxing place to stay. The party areas which are […] located at the "Centro" is located about 10-15 min away from the resort (Whcih is not far at all considering the hotel offers free shuttle to its sister hotel Pueblo Bonito Rose.) There are 3 restaurants located at this resort with great food. I especially enjoyed El Nao, which is a buffet style restaurant. They offered a variety of foods, with each day having a different specilty. I really enjoyed staying at this resort & would definitely be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Pros: 1-Amazing view 2- Very clean rooms 3-You can use the facilities at the other two downtown hotels. Cons: 1-Very aggressively try to sell their time share. Everybody from the Bellman to the Restaurant manager will ask you to attend the presentation. Extremely annoying! 2-only two restaurants for the all-inclusive plan for the whole resort which […] require reservations for all dinners and even the Sunday brunch and only one of them serves lunch to start with. the lunch menu is the same thing, over and over and over again !!! 4-The staff do not give you any information upon arrival. 5-the main restaurant does not serve lunch. Lunch is only at the pools and always the same menu which is nachos, burger and hot dogs!!!! 6-Even with the all-inclusive plan, You have to sign a check for anything you eat or drink even if it is just a bottle of water from the bar, which makes you obligated to leave a tip. 7-The ocean is not swimmable. So if you like the action on the beach, this place is not for you! 8-You need to take gulf carts to go around the hotel. It’s not very convenient especially when they have arrivals and the carts all go to the lobby. Sometimes you have to wait up to 15 minutes! 9-We stayed there for one week and they only had 2 nights of entertainment. The rest of the nights there was absolutely nothing to do after dark! "Great climate and easy relaxing get away."
I found the friendliness and service mindedness very disappointing. "Great family getaway for pool time & sun!"
Overall we had a great experience at Sunset Beach. Going in, we were concerned about mixed reviews but found our experience (with 2 toddlers) to be fantastic with only a couple of issues. Cons: - Beware that most pictures of the "junior suites" are really pictures of "executive suites" and the "executive suite" pictures are really pictures of "super […] executive". When we checked in to our junior suite we were disappointed to find it was just a "room" and had no bath tub (a necessity for young children). Upon complaining, we were upgraded to an executive suite and got the room that we expected to receive originally. - The terrain is VERY hilly and is not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs. We found the golf cart service to be adquate to get us around the resort whenever needed, but keep in mind with large groups it can require more coordination to meet up as you can't just "walk over" easily. - If you are interested in visiting town, it is a bit inconvenient, however, for a family we found the town didn't have much to offer and we spent the majortiy of our time at the pools . Pros: - GORGEOUS views from almost anywhere, an ABUNDANCE of pools (both kid-friendly and adult only), and very large and comfortable rooms (assuming you get upgraded!) - Most of the staff was very friendly and accomodating, special call outs to Eric (waiter at Bistro), Galileo (valet desk), and Israel (front desk). Really, most staff were very friendly and willing to help. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Sense of peacefulness."
We stayed at the beautiful Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas. From the moment you enter the hotel you feel the sense of peacefulness and the wonderful scent of jasmine vanilla that permeates throughout the property. We were very pleased with the hotel overall. The staff was very attentive and very professional. Our Executive Suite was beautiful […] and very comfortable. The view was incomparable. They have done a great job at maintaining the rooms in excellent condition. The new Retro Night at La Nao Restaurant was very enjoyable. The entertainment was almost up to par with Las Vegas. We thoroughly enjoyed our first evening there. We also dined at La Nao for the South West theme night but unfortunately the food was not very authentic. We would definitely return to this beautiful resort again. Our only real disappointment was that we missed the start of the whale migration by about a week. Guadalupe M. "Please Read! This was EXCELLENT!"
The grounds were vast and beautiful. The staff was well trained and friendly. The food was diverse and delicious. The service at each meal and each pool visit was over-the-top. The all inclusive plan was a MUST. While the all inclusive meal plan technically covers gratuity, I recommend tipping 10% at sit down meals and at pool side deliveries. It is […] still a bargain! Tipping is appreciated and it results in superior service. This resort is spread out. For people who enjoy walking up and down steep winding alleys to burn off calories from wonderful food and drinks, this is perfect. For people who are unwilling to hike a little or unable to step into a golf cart, this resort may not be the best choice. The alleys and paths are all paved and clean and well manicured. We did not drink from the tap in our room, but the water and ice at the resort restaurants is completely safe. The beach is simply too rough to swim in, but there are 3 different pool areas. There are several a la carte restaurants and bars as well as a buffet style restaurant. The food was fabulous, the drinks were quality, and the service was enthusiastic. Everything was covered by our all inclusive plan. Our trip cost less than half of a similar trip to Maui, and it was first class service and accommodations. Mexico is not the U.S. Savor the differences. The check out was quick and without incident (no up charges, no strange taxes or fees, & 100% accurate). I highly recommend this resort. "Stunning views and family oriented resort. . ."
The resort is stunning with exceptional views, however, you have to get around via golfcarts, and call for one everytime you want to go somewhere on the resort property - which can get a little old. The all inclusive package is fine, but ask what the details are so there aren't any surprises. La Frida is an amazing restaurant, but it carries an extra […] charge just to eat there. . . but everything else is covered by the all inclusive. The pools are amazing, and while there is an adult pool, it does not have the swim-up bar so a lot of families with young children are at the pool, so if you want a seat at the swim up bar you will likely have to wait until a six year old finishes their virgin pina colada. . . .which is somewhat frustrating. The entire resort staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nice Hotel, I went with my family ( my son is ten years old ), nearly 90% were people from the third age and from United States, so the common language was english, I prefer more spanish, since Baja California still belongs to Mexico. The food is ok, but not superb, the restaurant Bistro is the worst one, the Frida is ok. The service is very good, always […] friendly. "Nice quiet resort with good service"
We originally booked 3 rooms for 8 total people, but upon arrival we were offered the presidential suite because they couldn't find 3 rooms located near each other. We were told it would fit 8 people and this option worked out for us since we're just 8 friends and would prefer all staying in the same suite anyway. Plus, we were sold by the gorgeous […] balcony with a jacuzzi. Although the room did indeed fit 8 people, it wasn't super comfortable, but it worked out fine. The annoying part was that whenever we ordered room service, requested towels, went to one of the restaurants, etc...they claimed that we only had 3 people in that room and would not give us what we ordered. We had to explain that we were upgraded to the suite and have 8 people everytime we ordered something. It all worked out in the end, but it would've been nice not to have to do that. Especially when we were told by the front desk they had changed it in their system to show that we indeed had 8 people. Other than that, the resort was gorgeous, the pool was nice, and the service at the restaurants was good. This resort definitely caters more toward the older couples and families crowd. I hear the Rose resort is more for the young partiers. We didn't really mind that though since we preferred the resort to be quiet. We would just go downtown or to Rose if we wanted to enjoy a rowdier atmosphere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pretty, but too big."
The property and rooms were clean and comfortable, but the property's size made it awkward to get around (especially with kids) and difficult to explore and enjoy. (Example: if pool chaises are unavailable at one pool-often the case- you'd have to wait for and take golf cart service to other pools...with no guarantee that those chaises would be open.) Room […] service food was passable, but nothing great. "Manila" pub does have an excellent selection of tacos and Mexican fare and lunch there was easy and delicious. To go anywhere off property, you have to pass through town, which became tedious to us after several trips. (If you want to party in town or access water sports/activities then you will appreciate proximity to town.). Personally, we'll stay somewhere on the corridor next time and come to town if we "want" to. (we have stayed at Fiesta Americana Grand, Dreams, Westin Regina,...so we're not unfamiliar with better options/experiences.) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice but could easliy be a lot better."
The food, cleanliness and staff could all be rated as "good". The view from our balcony was spectacular and added a lot to the experience. This resort touts itself as an "All-Inclusive" but unfortunately it really isn't. It's a time-share resort that's trying to figure out the All-inclusive concept. We have stayed at several all-inclusives and like […] the fact that we don't need to carry cash, but this resort tends to nickle and dime guests in strange ways. Of the 4 sister "Pueblo Bonito" resorts in Los Cabos, 3 are included in the all-inclusive package but 1 is not (the one closest to it). They won't tell you this until you get there and order something. No in-room coffee/tea service is included., There is a fridge in the room but no soda, water or beer. Be ready to pay for room service and wait 45 minutes if you want to enjoy a morning coffee/tea or an evening cocktail on your balcony. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for a family"
This is a great hotel for an all inclusive getaway vacation, especially for families. The staff was great, the food delicious and plenty of things to do. My only comment is that there are a lot of people staying here so some of the pools get very crowded. Also, at some of the pools the music is very loud and thumping and there are speakers everywhere. "Make sure you know what you are getting into."
The reason I would not recommend this hotel is because it is inconvenient . Walking from your room to the pool is next to impossible. Golf carts are required to go anywhere in this resort and I hated that. I don't like to have to depend on anyone to get back to my room. This resort is not like any other I've stayed in Cabo, and I have stayed in quite […] a few. The all inclusive is another story. Very inconvienient as well. So many rules, it felt like the staff was constantly saying no. The hotel was very full which meant a lot of waiting for your golf cart sometimes up to 20-30 min. At one point, the hotel ran out of all types of food and alcohol not to mention the most important...bottled water. My stay was ok and the hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. "Wish you chose another hotel!!"
I will never, never, ever, stay at this hotel again! While the hotel grounds are beautiful and have a great view of Cabo. However, the lack of customer service shocked my husband and I, since we paid 5 star prices! I never write reviews for hotels. However, I felt that I need to warn other people before they go through the same torture! Quick example: […] They do not provide water or drinks in the frig like most all inclusive places do. So, then when you call room service to order, there is a limit of 2 cocktails per person and they charge you $5 every time! Wait! I'm not done. Then it takes 1-2hrs for anything to arrive! One night, they called us 1hr. after our order and asked if we still wanted it. We said "YES" that's why we order. Then they finally brought our order 2hrs later!!! Never again! I'm on vacation..don't have time to wait and get angry everyday trying to get a meal or drink!! Stay away!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The Pueblo Bonito Sunset is one of the nicest places I have stayed. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Having the all inclusive plan made life easy as all we needed to worry about were tips, which are much appreciated! Using the free shuttle to get into town was a nice bonus as taxis back and […] forth can get expensive. "This is more of a couples hotel"
We were there with out six year old son. This is more of an adult setting as other than the pool there was not much else for him to do. The ceramics painting and ping pong table was the onlly other services he used. The breakfast menu was predictable with little variety. The two other restaurants had a la carte menus but one of them would not allow […] children under eight years old.We used the spa and gym which were very good. The complex is huge and pretty isolated from the town. You would not be able to walk there but they do provide a free air conditioned bus on the hour to the Pueblo Bonito Rose. This is located a short walk from the downtown marina. If you want to save money walk through the Rose hotel, onto the beach and for about ten dollars per adult you can get to see the Arco and stay on the beach and snorkel for an hour. The boat will come back for you. There are people who will help you in and out of the boat for tip and they can call the boat back for you. "wow...what a trip!"
The resort is wonderful, very clean, and relaxing place to be to get away from everthing. They are the most expensive franchise they have, compared to the other 2 they own, the Blanco, and the rose Pueblo bunito that are cheaper in quality and also the type of foods they offer at their hotels. The sunset is away from town, where all the action is (clubs, […] bars, party life...etc) so unless you take their shuttle that only goes unitl 10:30pm....expect to pay $12 each way for a taxi. night life there really starts at 12:00am. if your renting a room, they wont allow you to bring ANY guest back, after 8pm...due to "security issues" as they call it. So forget bringing anyone over..unless you own a time share, then you have some freedom. Seems like that the rule with all the hotels in cabo. Expect mostly couples, and older seinor couples, so its an fancy expensive relaxing place. if your more into partying, then go with their "Rose" location...its not as fancy or comparable, but its mostly a younger crowde and its walking distance to the party spots. Purchase their meal plan package...so you can eat and drink all you want..or you'll end up spending more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
