"great potential poor execution"
The rooms/suites are of the good size and well equipped we were pretty excited when we just arrived it looked very good. Resort has a facilities like ski concierge (short walking distance to the lifts), kids club ( great!!!), indoor outdoor pool, spa ( not included in the stay price), adult relaxation pool ( pretty good but twice during our stay there were no towels available) and 2 restaurants in the premises as well as a free shuttle service to the nearby ski resorts park city and deer valley. The only disadvantage we could point out is that resorts consists of several buildings and all the amenities concentrated in one connected to the others with the passage on the 4th level and it was quite a long walk from our suite especially when you cladded in your ski attire, but they provide you with the ski locker in this main building thus at least a heavy stuff like helmets and boots you can keep there. All planed good but devil is in the details: Most of the staff doesn't have clue about anything. 1 out of 3 days of stay room was not serviced. When we used ski concierge and the shuttle service to travel to the nearby Deer Valley resort, for 1.5 hours they could not find part of our equipment thus we lost almost half of the day of skiing . On the way back we were left for almost 2 hours to wait for the shuttle back ( with 2 kids 7 years old), we were explained later that our shuttle was there but it was unmarked vehicle and driver simply seated inside, it was our job to run aro

"NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER Again. EVER!!!!!!"
The resort itself is nice enough...comfortable rooms, nice amenities. However, from the time you walk in to the lobby you are bombarded with sales tactics aimed at getting you to buy into one of their timeshare. The front desk was EXTREMELY rude, and misleading regarding check in. We knew we were earlier (about 1:45) than the normal 4 pm check in time, but the clerk assured us it was okay and our room would be ready within the hour and we should just "stay on property and grab some lunch at one of the resort restaurants". We did just that, but upon checking back with the desk about an hour later we were RUDELY told check in was not until 4 pm and that even though our room was ready we would have to wait. Had we been told that from the start we would have gone to Park City and killed some time. We were clearly told our room would be ready just to keep us at the resort to use their restaurant. The front desk clerk was VERY rude and acted as if she was doing me a favor by suggesting I sit in the bar or lobby and continue to wait until 4 pm. To make matters worse, when we tried to complete our check in at 4 pm as we had been instructed, we were told the room wasn't ready yet (after having been told earlier that it WAS ready but check in wasn't until 4), and we could have the keys but would need to wait a few more minutes before going to the room. It was as if they couldn't even keep their own stories straight.

"Dirty hallway rugs need updating."
Villa rooms are comfortable with washer/dryer combo, kitchen and fully stocked kitchen supplies. Beds are comfortable too. Easy parking and entrance to rooms. You must check your skis with ski concierge because they are not permitted in rooms. When you are ready to ski Canyons, call ahead for skis which will be brought to base of mountain. We did not ski Canyons because the top of mountain was the only section open. They are making snow now. Go to Alta or Snowbird which is a 40 minute drive for great skiing.

"not for us"
The room was poorly designed and made it not comfortable at all. The Jacuzzi tube has room for only 1 person. The staff was just ok. The layout of the hotel is confusing and not much to choose from as far as eating. There is bar food or a very, very expensive restaurant.

"Helpful"
The bed was really hard and the pillows were to soft. The staff was amazing though. I had to call an ambulance for my husband and the helped me get the paramedics to our room. The restaurants they had there were also very good.

"Disappointed"
We arrived at 3 PM, but they said there were no rooms ready. Staff said they would call us when a room was available. The phone call never came. At 5:30 PM we returned to the hotel and finally got a room. Unacceptable. The room was small and had no view.

"Great resort, horrible bed"
My overall experience with Westgate was good. Their hotel staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was furnished well but the bed felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I appreciate a firm bed but I was awake half of the night because I could not fall asleep. I stayed here years ago and I don't remember having a problem with the bed.

"Nice accomodations, not so nice experience."
We booked through expedia last Saturday to check in Saturday night. Got there at 5:30 but they couldn't find our reservation even with our confirmation # so we had to wait an hour to check in. We were chargedan aadditional $33 for taxes and fees upon check in such was above the "total cost of room" listed on expedia. After finally getting to our room we realized it wasn't the one we had booked. Ie: smaller & no jetted tub. So we called the front desk and they informed us that they knew it wasn't the correct room but that they didn't have any cleaned at that time and it would be 2-3 hours before they would have it for us. We finally did recieve a phone call saying the room was ready at 9pm and to wait for the bellman to arive & assist in moving but that took another 30min. We lost our reservations for dinner because my wife didn't have time to get ready. Basically ruined our evening. The resort is beautiful but we unfortunately didn't get to enjoy it.

"perfect for a girls weekend"
Very spacious, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom villa. Stayed over night for a girls weekend and loved that we had a family room area to sit up all night and talk. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is how uncomfortable the hide-a-bed was. May work for small kids, but not for adults.

It was nice, but not worth the money. The hotel is an actual maze, they made our room keys wrong twice, so getting from lobby to hotel room twice was a journey. The room had multiple lights burned out, and a hole in the bathroom door. Other than that the room was large, and very clean. The sports bar was a joke. We were told it was a high end sports bar, and to dress accordingly, only to arrive to a run down dive bar with absolutely no dress code ( cut off sleves, and bandanas), and very overpriced drinks. The pizza was amazing. The steak house was nothing to write home about, the atmosphere was great, but the food again extremely overpriced, and was equal to what you would find at a local chili's. Oh and get ready for the sales pitch on buying a time share at check in.

"Excellent Place To Stay in Park City with a Group"
We had 7 women all come and stay in a Villa. The property is beautiful! The staff was so friendly! Not just a few of them were friendly, all of them. They really treated us well and were so helpful! The villa was gorgeous and we had our own jacuzzi on the balcony. They supplied really thick and comfy robes and slippers for everyone. The shower was also a steam room! I can't wait to come back and stay again!

"Very nice place to stay. Felt 2nd rate"
This is a very nice hotel and the staff are excellent. Our room was not what I thought I was paying for. At 200 a night during the off season I expected more. We were put in the smallest room without a deck/porch to go out on. I asked the man checking us in about our room and he said that since we booked with Expedia this is what you get. That being said after the initial disappointment we were pleased with the amenities and food options. This was a one night getaway for our anniversary. I would have paid more for a better room. This was not an option with Expedia. I am pretty sure I wont use Expedia to book a getaway again. I will use them if it is work related. :/ My rating is not fair to the hotel they were excellent. My rating is a reflection of the overall satisfaction of the Expedia service.

"Pompous attitude, classless delivery"
The Westgate has a stunning appearance in the lobby, and the rooms themselves are very nice. That is the best I can say about the experience. The resort itself is four buildings connected, however each building connects on different floors. In other words, you may be on the fourth floor in one building and upon entering the next building be on the first floor. This makes the experience very confusing and can lead to wandering for 40 minutes to find a pool, vending machine, restaurant or other facility. If you go outside of peak season be forewarned that facilities may be closed. During our visit the spa, restaurants and lifts to hike/bike the mountain were closed. Basically there was nothing to do despite being sold on a world class experience. The kicker might be the timeshare component. Westgate is really a timeshare company, not a hotel. Go watch the documentary "Queen of Versaille." It all becomes clear, the facility top to bottom is run to create the appearance of wealth and luxury wherein its all a lie lacking in service. They will try to sell you a time share even if you go for the hotel. They will lie to you. They will tell you the pitch will last no more than 90 minutes, it will be twice that. They will promise you $100 for your time, they will then tell you they are out of money and refuse to compensate you. DO NOT STAY HERE, have fun and be ethical. Give you money to place that cares and actually delivers.

Terible rooms with no view right over noisy mechanical area. Check ahead or request a quiet room. Room not ready until 5pm while my family waited in lobby for an hour and a half. Staff very nice and did try!

"amazing resort!"

"Terrible Internet, 4pm check-in really means 5:30"
The start didn't go well with the room not ready and we had to just stand around while multiple just need 10 minutes statements turned into about an hour and half later we could check in (we actually waited over 2 hours, but we were 30 minutes early). The appointments in the room are nice and stayed here and the room was decent, but Internet was horrible. Slow when connected and would often go in and out of working at all. More time not working than anything else. Called the front desk and they sent someone up just to have them say, yeah, its a problem. Finally, all of that can be made up for if the bed is good. This one was average at best.

"Great hotel, misleading description and pics"
We enjoyed our stay but according to the pictures and description we were lead to believe that there was a large jetted tub in the room. At 6'6" regular tubs don't work so we needed a large one, the pictures showed one, the description mentioned one, but we didn't get one. Other than that it was great. Without that unfulfilled expectation we would have rated it a five.

"Not worth it"
This hotel was mediocre at best. The room we had was so cramped. And I mean like 2 people couldn't stand next to each other on any side of the bed cramped. And the walls were so thin we could hear the people in the next room having a normal conversation. I expected much more and was extremely dissatisfied.

"Hotel Exterior is Beautiful, But Don't Be Fooled.."
PLEASE NOTE: I don't write hotel reviews (this is my first) because I'm rarely motivated to do so as I've stayed in a selection of at least satisfactory hotels. This hotels is beautiful from the outside, and the lobby is satisfactory, but our room was terrible. Extremely crammed and although the counter tops might be granite, the bathroom is extremely subpar. We booked a Signature Suite, Kitchenette. Literally all of the appliances were dented and all of the cabinetry looked like a few hundred people stored their skis against it. The floors are cheap tile and were all dirty. The pullout sofa bed was completely bowed as if someone had stored their bowling ball collection there for a year or two. What's sad is our 5 year old daughter has to sleep there tonight. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Rawlins, Wyoming and it was literally more comfortable (which isn't saying much as it was, until now, the worst and least comfortable room I've stayed in). The parking garage is enormous which should be a plus, but then the layout of the hotel ruins this as our room was a few hundred yards away (which made our late night arrival carrying our luggage and sleeping 5 year old a bit inconvenience). The worst part, if I don't get a refund tomorrow when I speak with the property manager, I'll eat the $210 I paid for the room because I won't be staying here another night. I'm assuming I'm out the $$ because it was booked on Hotels.com. DON'T STAY HERE!

"Was it Really the Worst Room in the Hotel?"
Check-in time is 4pm. Arrived at 4:01pm and went to room with bell-boy. Room was not ready. Maid was still mopping floor. We were asked to walk around the hotel for 20 mins and come back. When we came back the dishwasher was still running. Went to use blow dryer in room, it did not work. Kitchen sink faucet would not shut off entirely and would drip. Kitchen sink drained very slowly. Bathroom had no tub and was a shower only. Shower was equipped with a sauna which was nice. However, when trying to remove steam from bathroom, discovered bathroom fan did not work. How on Earth did this hotel ever receive ANY awards?!!!

"Small rooms & bad customer service"
Room was so small (Fold out couch/bed and king size bed) that when the couch was folded out into a bed, there was NO room for any luggage and barely a walk way. I suspect that we were in the "bonus" room of a timeshare suite (as it had the letter "B" after our room number) and that is why it was so small. Disappointed because this was not detailed as such in the listing for the room description at booking. The layout of the hotel is very poor. To get the "Elk Lodge" tower of rooms, we had to got up to a certain floor of the "Bear Lodge" from the lobby, then walk down a hallway and take that elevator. There was NO easy way to get around this place, which is hard with a 2 year old. Upon check in, I was given an information card, with an incorrect reservation number (prevented me from getting onto wireless) and when I alerted staff of this it was "no big deal." Good thing I am honest, I could have charged to another room at the resort with this information. Lastly, when I wanted to extend my stay by one night front desk told me they didn't do that. I had to call front desk from my room and ask to be transferred to "Reservations." Reservations then told me to call the front desk....I finally got help when I complained that I was being shuffled from one person to another. At this point, I decided that it wasn't worth it and actually cut my trip short. Walls were paper thin. I could hear my neighbors toilet flush everytime and "living room" area was hot the entire night

"Nice place but I will not return"
Not a very nice one. I arrived Sunday afternoon and the restaurant. market, and bar were closed. Internet was down for hours. Asked to get a ride on the shuttle to a downtown so that I could have dinner, but I was told to wait for 30 minutes. I decided to drive instead of waiting. Staff very nice, but hotel is poorly managed, in my view. Wednesday night a group of teenagers in my floor decided to do track and field in my floor around 10 PM. It was also fun for them to bang on my door and run away giggling. I had to call security. Again, a poorly managed hotel.

"Nice Hotel, Terrible Service"
I travel a lot for work so I spend a lot of time in hotels and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. After informing me that my room was ready at 3:30pm, they had a network problem and couldn't look up the room number I was assigned to. They told me they would call me as soon as they had things figured out. I left the hotel (with all my luggage) and sat at The Canyons patio area. At 5:00pm (no phone call) I returned to the lobby where they finally gave me the keys to a room (they said they upgraded me to a one bedroom suite, which is what I had reserved in the first place). When I entered the room it looked like guests were still staying there. There was garbage, dirty dishes, and all the bedding was a mess. I hauled all of my luggage back to the lobby expecting that they would put me into a different room. However, they just told me they would try to get the room clean as soon as possible and I went back to sitting in the lobby. About 30 minutes later I went back up to my room where I found the cleaning crew still working. I ended up just sitting on the balcony until they were finished. By the time the room was clean and I could finally relax, it was past 7:00pm. After experiencing these sorts of problems, one would expect some sort of accommodations from the hotel to show they are truly sorry. I got nothing, just a simple sorry from the cleaning crew. I will not be staying at this resort again.

"Weird checkout time..."
Cons: 10 am checkout, It was listed in the hotel description but I did not catch it, my bad. I go on vacation to relax and a check out time before 11 or 12 is odd to me. They told me to call and they can "usually"extend the time but they made it 10:30 ha ha. Pitch you on their timeshare when you check in (even though you are paying for the room), this burns the first 30-60 minutes of your visit and you know how those salesman are... a pain. Pros: Comfy room, good restaurants, cool environment.

"Beautiful room"
The room I had was a villa, and quite nice. The hotel/time share facility had a layout that was very chopped up, with restaurants being tucked away at the end of hallways on floors I could not even access from my floor. But, the restaurants were very nice, and the food excellent. Check out is at 10 am, which is ridiculous, given that check in is after 4 pm. Valet parking was free, and the Bell Attendants were very quick and courteous. The property had many amenities. It was also close to Park City. For the price, it was a very good find.

"Summer Hiking Right on the Mountain"
If you want to hike or take the Gondola up the mountain, you can't beat the location. Since all of Park City is pretty close, you can easily drive or be shuttled back and forth from hotel to Olympic Park and Main Street. The adults only pool, sauna, hot tub, and steam room were divine. My brother and I steamed out all of our sore muscles after our hike, and slept like the dead afterwards. Woke up refreshed and ready to go again!

Room super tiny. Coffee grounds left in the coffee maker. Room not ready until 5 and I had to approach them ( they said they'd call to let me know when it was ready). Pool was full of families, which is great but the 18 & over pool was inside (boo!) The layout of this place is like being trapped inside a haunted house, but, none of the fun. I just don't get this place. Won't go back.

"Perfect for July 3rd"
Room was clean and staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay which included fireworks at The Canyons with friends. To put this in perspective... Five star service on a day of mad activity on what would be called "the off season" at a (primarily ski) resort. One note: keep your map of the resort as it is quite large and there are "tricks" to get around.

"Motel Service at Resort Prices"
They switched our room at check-in because ours wasn't ready at 4pm. The new room was still being cleaned when we got to it. The floor was sopping wet when they turned the room over to us. When we wiped up the water, the towel was filthy. Several custodial people tried to get into our room while we were relaxing in there. We were not informed of the huge firework show the night we were there. Valet took 30 minutes to retrieve our car.

Would I stay here again? Probably. The front desk girl was gonna charge my card again even though it was previously paid to Expedia. The staff were super nice. Convenient pools and underground parking. Bed and pull out bed could use improvement on comfort. Very good getaway though.

"Totally Disappointing"
The mattress was painful, the a/c was so loud it woke us up every time it came on. The toilet quit flushing at about 1 am. The parking was very, very far from room access. The staff was not helpful nor extremely pleasant. The room was the size of a walk in closet. We have stayed in Park City many times, we will never stay here again.
