The Grand Desert was a great place to vacation. They provide shuttle service to the strip. That was great! We'll be back!!

Everything was wonderful UNTIL it was time to check out. I thought check out was at 2:00 pm and tried to enter the room to retrieve my bags to put them in my car when my key would not work. Approximate time was 1:30p. Could not get in so I called the front desk and after a discussion with the deskperson, was referred to a supervisor with whom I shared […] this story. The supervisor then charged me for another day's stay ($112.50). Thought/think it is patently unfair. A more just charge would have been a charge for the hours pass check-out. Further, as I reflected on my stay, I could not recall seeing check out times posted, particularly in the room. I remember seeing a white 8 x 11 sheet attached to the back of the entry door, but one would have read what appears to be fine-print IF the check out time is posted there. Soooo ... I cannot give you the 5 rating as the handling of the overtime was not reasonable and I will share the experience with the other classmates who flew in from around the country when we consider where we will be staying on our next gathering in the fall. The Wyndham is a time share resort and is not a good place to stay if you are not an owner. Front desk check in was friendly, but very inefficient - took longer to check in than I have ever experienced at any other property. This property is pleasantly designed, the rooms are spacious and the grounds are well maintained. If you're looking to be close to the strip but a little away from the hustle bustle, this property is well situated. However, it is a timeshare property, so there is the annoying aspect of 'the sell' as soon as you walk in the door. We did not know this […] prior to getting there because we did not choose (the wedding party selected the site). They offer free shuttle service to Harrah's which is nice, but a little limited. They should offer a few additional stops. Lastly, the bathrooms are well appointed but there was no water pressure in the shower. It was like trying to rinse under a light garden sprinkler. the room looked like a great party had gone on before us the coffee table was broken the phone cord was broke there was smoke burns on the carpet. my room key did not work had to go down seven times for new keys.the staff would not give me a discount on my five day stay.nice place but i would not stay there agian.

Very good hotel and facilities. The pool area is also excellent with two large pools and three hot-tubs. Only disappointment was that there was no daily maid service, but clean towels etc was bought on request.

The hotel was well done all around. One especially nice aspect was an adult pool while still having a large pool for families. I would recommend having a car as it is not real close to the strip. It is possible to walk but would take at least 15 minutes.

The only real issue is the 4PM check in time. They really need to allow guest to check in sooner. A 4 pm check really makes you rush to get to dinner or shows.

I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful! Our room was so very clean and it was easy to get around on the premises. I loved that it did not have a casino on site as we were traveling with children. Although they do not have a full restaurant on site, the little cafe/deli on site does offer wonderful room service (pizza is wonderful!). […] We also ate in the sit down area after seeing an early comedy/magic show and that was very convenient too. The pool was clean and well kept too. I would highly recommend this for anyone, but especially for families wishing to stay away from the gambling scene. We went there for a family trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. The hotel was nice and staff was helpful. This is a time share though so the rooms are not cleaned during shorter stays (I think under 7 nights) - something the staff failed to mention when I checked in. So be sure to ask for extra towels.

I wanted to stay off the strip for an extended work trip in Vegas and thought this Wyndham would be perfect. And it was. The timeshare apartment like rooms were spacious and quiet. Nice property but it is a vacation timeshare resort, not a hotel. That meant there was no daily room cleaning service...towels on the floor stayed on the floor, and the bed remained unmade. Not a huge deal, but just not something I was expecting. Another consequence of the type of property was that there was no restaurant on the property. The rooms are nice. We had a two bedroom/two bath with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. This worked out to be a great convenience. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. Turns out that this is a time share resort and they sick the sales routine on you from beginning to end. Each morning we received a phone call either confirming our "Breakfast Appointment" (salespitch) or telling us we were late for it. This is part of the Wyndham Resort Hotels, so it is a time-share system, and doesn't count towards the Wyndham Rewards points. Elevator is secure needing room card to choose the floor. The room is clean with a separate king bed bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room where the kitchenette is (with a full-size refrigerator). Bedroom has a large […] safe in the closet. By the bathroom is a stacked washer/dryer and a closet with ironing board/iron, floor sweeper, and a plunger (in a covered container with handle sticking out). A very family-friendly facility with multiple pools and an activity area with video games/movies for young people. The entire facility is non-smoking and has no gambling areas on the premises. For getting to the main strip, there's a free shuttle bus that drops off guests at the back of Harrah's -- just watch your time late at night because after 10 PM it only returns to the Wyndham from Harrah's at the bottom of each hour with the last shuttle around 12:30 AM. Otherwise it's a little under a 1-mile walk (or taxi) back from the strip. Nonmembers are asked to sit in on one of their ownership (timeshare) presentations during a free breakfast or lunch (entire family invited). We were told it would only last 90 minutes with no pressure, but it ended up taking almost 3 hours (we managed to send our kids back to the room while we sat with a sales-rep after the lunch part with the main speaker). Nice place to stay in Vegas when you want to get away from Vegas. Big room and comfortable bed. No entertainment. Requires a shuttle to the strip and a cab ride to Freemont Ave. First time visitors are better off staying on the strip or at Freemont Ave. If your partner wants to rest you can't just go down stairs to the casino. Veteran visitors to Vegas […] might like it because they know exactly where they want to go. For the first timer and the explorer it is too far from everything even though it is a block and a half from the strip. The shuttle stops at 10:30 which is way too early in a 24 hour town. No food available after 10 p.m. It is nice and it is clean. Very comfy. Kitchen area and living area in all 1 and 2 bedroom suites. Beautiful pool and friendly staff.
