EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. THEY MOVED US INTO A DIFFERENT ROOM ON THE LAST DAY OF OUR STAY -- VERY ANNOYING

First, you have to remember that this is a time share resort (I use the term resort loosely), and not a hotel. Therefore, there was no "room service" on a daily basis. Beds were not turned down, and towels sometimes were replaced, sometimes were not, and could disappear without a trace. Room service only occurs on Wed and Saturday (which is the typical […] move out day). The front desk people were very friendly, and very quick to deal with an issue we had with a noisy neighbor. However, had we not complained on a Saturday, there probably would not have been a resolution to our situation as most rentals are Saturday to Saturday and they were fully booked. Unit A is the only truely ocean front unit. Unit C and D have very bright lights outside the unit at night and you have to overlook the pool to see the ocean. No nice ocean sounds from those units. Hotel was very clean and staff was efficient and courteous. The property is beautiful & all rooms have ocean views! The water is the bluest blue, and crystal clear. Hoel was a $15 taxi ride (each way) from the downtown area, and restaurants in the area were scarce and/or overpriced. The location was, however, exclusive, which more than made up for these […] facts. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to a modern grocery store twice a day (once on Sundays). I recommend stocking your fridge & pantry, forgoing the few restaurants on or near the property. The hotel also offered a shuttle into downtown twice weekly...highly recommend taking advantage of this free service. Overall, very pleased with the hotel. Only hidden downside was that it is akso a time-share property as well. I would give the hotel a solid 4-star rating. Read more

This was a nice place, although hard to find as its on its own small island right next to the aquarium. We were traveling with small kids so the extra space was nice (it was a 1 bedroom condo). However it was a time share with all older couples. This didn't affect our stay but we did feel awkward being the only ones at the pool with children.

The Royal Resort is located so near, so integrated to the Sea Aquarium that I would say it's into the Sea Aquarium, which is perfect. All the guests of the Resort can and are stimulated to share all the activities of the Sea Aquarium. The parking lot is near ( you should have a rental car in Curaçao), the private beach is nice, the quality of services […] is impecable. However, it's time to re-build the pools, turning them into what is called "infinity pools " (defined as pools with the water filling them up to the top, up to their margins. I would also recommend an effort to create better restaurants , with better breakfasts and meals. Read more

This hotel is in a very secure area ... almost too secure. The rooms are big and squeaky clean. The large hot tub is great for warming your core after the winter seawater (78F). The sunset view from the pool is excellent. The beach is fine but you'll find yourself walking to the other side of the marina to Mambo Beach especially if you have young children. […] The dive shop is also on that side; the Royal is not really a "diver" residence. You get the complimentary tickets to the Seaquarium. The not-so-nice thing is that you have to park your car outside the marina area which is not a problem if you are going to spend all your time at the resort. This hotel had all the "big hotel" amenities, without the crowds, since it has only 30 rooms. It's a time share resort hotel and many of the owners were likely not there since it seemed that only about half the rooms were occupied. It was very safe and secure - many guests left their belongings by the pool when they left for various reasons for a while. […] Also, since many of the guests were returning owners, they were very friendly and helpful with ideas about things to see and do in Curacao. However, the staff made us feel very welcome and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well. They remembered our names after the first day - something that wouldn't happen at a bigger resort. We picked the hotel because my wife loves dolphins and we took the opportunity to visit the Sea Aquarium three times while there, but also our balcony faced the Sea Aquarium only 75 yards away and we could watch the dolphins playing while not putting on a show. For nature lovers, there was a great variety of fauna and flowers right on site. It was a very relaxing vacation and there are as many or few activities available in Curacao as one would want to chose. Read more

This is a perfect hotel for families with small children. It has 2 swimming pools and a waddle pool, which will accommodate kids most ages. The water temperature is great. The beach is quite pleasant and very safe, with no waves and almost no current. Ideal to learn to snorkel. The hotel is small, but extremely well kept, and guests seem to appreciate […] and respect quiet. It offers a complimentary shuttle to the grocery store and to downtown. The suites are relatively large and have a full kitchen, so the trip to the grocery store comes in handy. There is also a small restaurant right there, for those who do not want to cook. The attention and friendliness of the staff are outstanding; they are ready to fix a bulb or to call a cab, whatever your needs are. Guests are welcome at the adjacent aquarium for free, another plus for families with young children. The aquarium is not Disney type, but is has quite a variety of local species, several presentations (not shows), and the possibility to pet or swim with the dolphins for a fee. Our family of three found no reason to leave the hotel other than to go to the grocery shop, the restaurant or the aquarium. We also made a short trip downtown, but quickly came back to the swimming pool. There is also a boat ride business in place, for those who want to take a diving or a sunset cruise. Everything very convenient. However, if partying and noise is your style, then this is definitively NOT the place for you. Read more

We lucked out and got a room, that was directly across from the Dolphin enclosure. The pics on their web site look photoshopped a bit, but sure enough we work up to dolphins jumping 100 feet from our balcony every morning. The entry to the aquarium is included and my son had a great time going over every day. This is a quietish place on it's own mini-island, […] its clean and nice, but not super special facilities, although the rooms/suites are big and comfortable with full kitchens. The location is great and my family had a fabulous time. A few cons, the staff were nice and extremely well meaning, but sort of clueless about a lot of basic things, like what restaurants were in the neighborhood. We also found the restaurant in the resort to be a little pricey and only average quality. We stayed at the Royal Sea Aqaurium for 6 nights. There were 7 of us, including 2 pre-teen children. We had a two bedroom suite with kitchenette. The others had the same set-up with an additional adjoining one bedroom. All rooms were very clean and comfortable. All had great balconies with views of the ocean and overlooking the pools (two large pools, […] a kids' pool and a hot tub). A small private beach is located next to the onsite restaurant Augusto's. Food there was good/drinks were cold and service was pleasant. The kids enjoyed watching/chasing the iguanans and skinks. Location of the resort in general was great! Across a small 'channel' from Hemingway's (restaurant/bar) and Ocean Encounters (dive operation) and next to the Sea Aquarium. Very conveniet for those of us diving. It was also fun to swim over to Hemingway's (kids included) to get food and drinks. Also, the kids enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach. Getting to Willemsted was a simple 10 minute drive. We bought groceries at at small market down the road to cut down on expenses a bit. Overall, it was a great stay at a great place. Would definitely return to the resort. Read more

The Royal Sea Aquarium Resort is wonderful for both couples and families. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great. Both kids and adults alike would enjoy the sea aquarium which is literally a stone's throw away from the resort and guests can visist the aquarium for free at any given time. The location from the resort is give or […] take fifteen minutes from the town Punda and there are taxis just outside the gate of the hotel or you can walk to the nearest bus stop (a five - 10 minute) walk and take the local buses which is much cheaper There is a free shuttle to the town from the hotel on a morning if you prefer that. The beach and the veiew on the resort is gorgeous, like a picture form a magazine. The resort's restaurant Augusto's also has good food, not the best but good if you don't feel like going anywhere. My Husband and I with our 19month old stayed at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort and we were very pleased with our experience. The view from our room was amazing and free entrance to the sea aquarium next door a definite plus. The kitchens were fully equipped and the rooms fully furnished. The staff at the hotel were also very helpful, there was one instance […] where I lost my camera during a trip I had taken with their shuttle earlier in the day. They was very instrumental in helping me to get it back. I must mention Norman, he was our shuttle driver to Punda and was truly amazing. He was helpful beyond what was necessary. The Royal in it's own accord was up there with the best - the hotel layout with the combination of pools and beach really catered for all. We stayed here for a week during January/ 2012 and wish it could have been longer. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. Resort is quiet and perfect for a restful holiday. With a beach and ocean right there you don't need to go anywhere else. There is a shuttle bus available to take you downtown for shopping or to the supermarket to get groceries […] to cook if that is what you are doing. Also, the outdoor bar/restaurant has such yummy food. We ate uptown a couple times and at the Hilton (blah) and compared to what we got right at our own resort, it was a waste of money. It is right next to the Aquarium and you get free passes to go but we were so busy enjoying the sun and water we never went. Now some helpful hints about curacao that will maybe save you some grief-especially if you are coming in late at night like we did. It took over an hour for us to get our rental car and as there were others in line behind us we were just given a sheet. We arrived there 2and 1/2 hours after we had landed. Suggest to you is if it is night and you don't have really good instructions then hire a cab to lead you. Curacao has no steet signs. You will get a map showing you some street with names on them but what good does it do you when the streets are not labeled. After a good lesson from Alejandre at the resort the next day, we were able to find our way around. The resort is about a 1/2 to 1 hour drive away from other beaches. But we really enjoyed our stay at it. Read more

Royal Resorts is een prima plek om te verblijven! De zwembaden met verschillende temperatuur, de jacuzzi en het ruime aanbod van ligbedden zowel bij het zwembad als op het strand zijn echt perfect. Het wordt heel mooi onderhouden. Bij het Resort is een restaurant aanwezig waar je zalig Italiaans kunt eten. Parkeren van de auto is helaas net buiten het […] Resort maar is gratis en bewaakt. Et rigtigt dejligt hotel med et god beliggenhed tæt på byen. Lige på den anden side af broen er der masser af liv og restauranter, som man kan nyde og alligevel bo på et dejligt roligt og smukt hote. Gode muligheder for at snorkle lige uden for døren. Personalet er meget hjælpsomme og søde. Vi vil bo samme sted næste gang.
