"Excellent Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The staff were super helpful and friendly. Service was impeccable. The room was a little small but it was very clean, well designed, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was delicious and we slept like babies.
"Great hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
As usual, Red Roof Inn failed to disappoint me when I have looked for a balance between cost and decency of accommodation. Indeed, it is the best value for the buck and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I had to change my booking and then check out early due to personal reasons but the hotel didnt flinch but rather gave me (through Hotels.com) a full refund for unspent nights. Needless to say, I will prefer to stay here when I can.
"Great value, beautiful views"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We enjoyed the convenient location(right on the Endicott campus). Literally a short walk to the beach. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was listed as Queen size but it was actually a full size which was a bit small for the two of us. Otherwise, very enjoyable and would stay there again.
"Very nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Our son goes to college close by and we would stay here again. Very clean, staff was very nice and the breakfast was a bonus. Easy to get to and plenty of places to eat close by.
"close to airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

Generally very pleased although floors were very thin and upstairs folks were very noisy. I called front desk and things seemed to quiet down pretty soon after that but it was midnight so I'm not sure if they were finally settling down anyways. This a great place for singles but a little small and "hip" for a family with small kids.

Horrible. Hair in supposedly clean towels. Noise a big factor in 1st floor rooms. continental breakfast is Walmart level. But location is awesome.
"A solid stay."
This is a BOUTIQUE hotel, not a chain or big time 4-5 star hotel like Hilton or anything..anyone reviewing it as if it was is not being fair. THE GOOD: Rooms very clean and modern (except for the TVs, which is odd). They have a stereo system hooked up to the tv/radio so you can play the sound on the wall mounted speakers and in the bathroom which is […] neat. Super comfy bed and bathroom was well lit and clean. Exceptional location with very short walk to the parks and downtown, and public transit less than block away. Great restaurants lining the same street as the hotel and you are surrounded by bars, shops. Service was very pleasant, friendly. THE BAD: After 3rd night discovered the toilet was leaking making the carpet wet and had to move to another room which is fine, but then the new room had a fan or vent for the AC was squeaky and it was really annoying. No issues with noise, but if you get someone above you who likes to move around a lot early in the morning that can also be an issue. Also, this might be expected, but unless you are in one of the rooms in the front the windows are basically facing brick walls with the slightest bit of light coming in which can really throw you off in the morning. the rooms are small and if you are a traveling couple it can cumbersome with the baggage because there are no closets for the bags, but there are drawers and a SMALL hanging closet. None of these "bad" points are serious and our time here was very pleas Read more

"charlesmark hotel boston ma"
we stayed at the charlesmark hotel for an overnight. the room was small but very clean. it is just a short t ride to government center, hanover st and td garden. the only problem was the light over the mini bar would not turn off. the staff at the front desk were very friendly and informative. coffee was available 24 hours. the free breakfast included […] bagels, fresh fruit, coffee and oj. would stay there again! "A Nice Hotel"
The Charlesmark is convenient to a lot of restaurants and shopping, plus it has a continental breakfast. It's not luxurious, but it's pleasant and the staff are very friendly and accomodating.
"Great location...small"
Charlesmark is located right in the convention area of Back Bay. The room was clean and well equipped. Even though I knew it was small, I was unprepared for how small From the elevator, to the hallways, and into the room, space is tight. That being said, I would stay again. The only negative is the lack of parking. The deal for the Clarendon St garage […] is a walk. Read more
"Very Comfortable"
My biggest concern about staying a new place is the cleanliness of the rooms. This place was fantastic. Not only were the employees super friendly and helpful, they were actually around when you needed them. The lounge was nice, the room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a great shower. I have already recommended this hotel to others. […] Right off of the T stop and close to Berklee and Newbury Street. We'll definitely stay here again. Read more

Short stay, but cute and clean hotel with a continental breakfast. Rooms a small but modern and comfy.
"Charlesmark Hotel, Boston, Ma"
Hotel staff were accommodating, friendly and went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. Location is outstanding, near food, shopping and convention center. MBTA within 50 yards of the hotel front door. Decor was interesting, rooms are small but compact and comfortable as the website states. Having a continental breakfast was the icing on the […] cake. I certainly would stay here again. Read more

"Great stay"
I recently stayed at the Charlesmark. Like many of the other reviewers have said, the rooms are very small. Other than that, I was very happy with my stay there. The rooms are very clean and modern and you can't beat the location. The staff was also super friendly!

"CharlesMark Hoel, Boston, MA"
The hotel staff were all lovely and very accommodating - gave great recommendations and printed out directions to whatever we needed. The room was very small, but we were prepared for it, so it wasn't too shocking! Great shower, great mattress - very clean. The Green T line is right on the corner, the Pru Center down the street, the Boston Public Library […] right across the street. The neighborhood is great! And, the price was right! Read more
"Charlesmark Hotel"
What a great hotel!! Wonderful location, helpful staff, clean & cozy rooms. Would definitely stay there again & recommend to anyone staying in Boston.
"Stylish, Great Location"
They made a great use of a small space to make our room very comfortable and stylish. Great location, great price. Friendly staff. Will definitely stay at the Charlesmark again.
"CharlesMark Hotel - noisy small room"
I was disappointed by the room at the Charles Mark, we were put in a small room at the back of the hotel bar. That by itself would not have been too bad, but it was a Saturday night, and the bar was hopping until 1 am, very very loud. Parking was also a problem, the lot they have an arrangement for discounted parking is blocks away.

"Great hotel - Great location"
I was delighted with the Charlesmark. It is a trendy hotel, with small but well decorated rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and the location (across from Boston Public Library) is great. The only inconvenience is parking (a couple blocks away). The hotel is literally next to a T stop and a block from Copley Square and all of the shops in the Copley […] and Prudential malls. Read more
"The Charlesmark Hotel - Boston"
This hotel is located right in the center of Boston, in walking distance of the Boston Public Library, Old South Church, Copley Square, Trinity Church, Prudential Center, Boston Public Garden, the Commons and many more attractions. It is significantly cheaper than the hotels in the surrounding area. The rooms are small but have all the conveniences […] needed, and the bathroom is tiny but well designed. The entire hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included but very basic. You have a choice of bagels, one type of donuts, jam, oatmeal, fruit, cream cheese, coffee, tea, and orange juice.. that is about it. After 4 days, we decided to have breakfast elsewhere just to have a bit more variety. However, other than the basic breakfast, there is really nothing to complain about. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose the Charlesmark again. Read more
"Great location and value"
This is unlike most hotels I've stayed at. It doesn't offer amenities like a swimming pool or fitness center. It does offer a nice little lounge with a TV and 2 computers (internet and printer). There is also a little bar that is open at night. The rooms were small but they were clean and comfortable. The location was great. Its on Boylston street and […] there were plenty of eating options nearby. The prudential center (mall) was also right down the street. If you don't mind the small room, this was a great value. "CHARLES MARK ON BOYLSTON IN BOSTON"
This hotel was small, however, modern. The staff friendly, included breakfast and even a SuperBowl party! The only downside was no gym on property, however, offered a $15 pass to BSC 3 blks away. I stayed at 3 different properties during a 10 day stay and final 3 at this hotel were the best!

"Charlesmark in Boston"
Unbeatable location, very helpful/friendly staff, clean, comfortable and extremely well priced. I will certainly visit again and recommend to friends. Not one negative comment to make. Great experience. Thank you.

"Very pleasant stay"
The hotel looks and feels like a hip youth hostel. The rooms are not fancy/glamorous but rather comfy. I loved it. In the hotel has a martini bar as well. The bar was well attended. I could not hear the noise of the bar in my room! One big downside though is that the elevator to the rooms is accessible by everybody, not just hotel guests. I would have […] preferred an hotel-guest-only elevator key...or some kind of higher security system. Same for the stairways. After checking out from the hotel, there was the possibility to leave the luggage with the hotel. The luggages are locked with a rope so that they cannot be stolen but are accessible by everybody - so make sure you lock you luggage since people could go and open your zippers. I didn't trust the storage enough, so I only left my luggage but took my laptop and all other electronic devices with me. This was quite inconvenient. In overall, I loved my stay and would stay there again. Though I would not bring any valuables along. Read more
"Truly a home away from home"
I love how you get real keys when you check in, instead of those horrible key cards most hotels use. All the staff I met so far have been wonderful, especially Lee. He's usually on when I arrive, mostly after midnight. The location in the Back Bay neighborhood is great. This hotel is on to something good.
Nice one
"relaxing time"
loved the ambiance in the room.
"Charlesmark Hotel in Boston"
While this hotel is situated in a very convenient hotel in Boston, they offer extremely expensive parking and very little amenities. I always make it a point to inquire about parking BEFORE I book a hotel, which I did, and was told that parking would be provided at no cost. The agent said I was given the wrong info, and had a very nonchalant attitude, […] offering no apologies for the mishap. Also, the charge for parking in a 24 hour period is $27, however, they couldn't say whether I'd be charged everytime I left the garage during my stay. This is not the kind of hotel that one should stay at if he/she is prone to claustrophobia. It is a very small, but very chic hotel. The rooms are really cozy, clean, and romantic, but small. The closet space is fit enough only for a child. They do offer continental breakfast, however if you're an avid coffee drinker like myself, you'd be much better off taking a hike down the street to Dunkin Dounuts. Seriously, the coffee looked and tasted like very weak tea. If you're looking for a way to be ultra chic on a budget, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I suggest finding a hotel within the city that caters to every need you and your guests may have. Read more
"Small room but very nice staff"
Very close to the convention center and the staff was really wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and tastefully decorated but a little on the small, which is probably to be expected in a big city. I wouldn't let the room size stop me from staying again. It was very comfortable in spite of the size.
"music rules"
Place was clean great area but the music and sound system really made it great.
"The Charlesmark in Back Bay-Boston"
A very cozy-economically priced hotel whose ammenities are very modern. Located across from the Boston Public Library, and conveniently next to the Copley Sqaure subway station. Easy walking distance from the Prudential Center.
"Boutique Hotel near Copley Square"
This is a charming small easy-going hotel right near Copley Square, with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, great for walking, and MTA stops a half a block away. Rooms are okay size with right-sized furniture, continental breakfast includes juice and fresh fruit. We would be happy to stay here again.
"Great location, outstanding service, would repeat"
This is a great little hotel located right opposite a "T" (subway) station in Back Bay. I was visiting Boston to see schools and I was never more than 30 minutes from anywhere I needed to be thanks to the location. The service was great - attentive and helpful, Kurt was on duty most of the time I was there and he made sure to check if I needed anything […] whenever I came and went. I noticed some reviewers were complaining about noise - I stayed on the 2nd floor (right above the bar) and I had no complaints whatsoever about noise - the rest of the hotel is well insulated from the bar. The rooms are smaller, but they are perfectly clean, and very cosy with a great eye for making the most of the space. There isn't a formal desk, but they have slide-out panels in the dresser that are perfectly adequete, i'm not the sort to write novels in hotel rooms. Rooms also have a great A/V set-up! The bathrooms are great, absolutely spotless, with fantastic water pressure and plenty of hot hot water (a critical feature of any hotel in my opinion). The beds were super comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep. I was absolutely happy with the room, in all respects and I would recommend Charlesmark to anyone visiting Boston looking for a cosy independent hotel with great service and location. Read more
"Great hotel!"
We enjoyed our stay at the Charlesmark. The room had a receiver which played music without the tv on & had speakers in the bathroom which was nice to listen to while showering/getting ready. We walked all over the city from our hotel, from Bunker Hill to Fenway Park. The subway stop is practically in front of the hotel, which was really convenient when […] getting to & from the airport. Breakfast was okay, but could have been better. It consisted of bagels (no toaster), instant oatmeal (water wasn't hot), donut sticks, & fruit. They had orange juice & coffee, but the coffee was weak. The lounge is top rated in the city & the hotel was trendy yet functional. I would stay here again. Read more

"just what was needed"
Everyone was nice. the location was great, the atmosphere is a nice blend of upscale and feeling right at home. The room is a little small...a desk might be nice if you plan to get a lot of work done. but all in all really a pleasant experience and very good value.
"awesome sound system"
Our stay at the Charles Mark was great. The staff was friendly, vey helpful, and kind. We enjoyed an evening at the bar with Jefferson, great guy! There was also a private event going on, which only added to the ambiance. My favorite part was the sound system in our room. It was such a surprise, truly enjoyed it. Also our room was nicely laid out and […] designed. I would recommend this hotel to businessmen, people passing through, and even families. Good location and friendly faces! Read more
"Charlesmark Hotel - Best location in Boston"
This was a great hotel. For location you can't ask for anything better. Blocks away from the great restaurants, shopping, and night life on Newbury Street. The room was spacious and comfortable definitely stay there again.
"Great Location at a Low Price But..."
Strange place, The room was large, but arranged in a way that made it small and difficult to navigate. Very small closet with bar so low it was impossible to hang coats or dresses without them dragging on the floor, No drawer space or place to store luggage. But it had one extensive wall of empty plywood shelving serving no purpose while taking up a […] lot of space. Read more
"I Loved My Room at the CharlesMark Hotel"
Staying even just one night at the CharlesMark is a joy. My queen-sized bedroom (an upgrade provided at no additional cost to me when I checked in) was a study in elegant simplicity. The decor is oak wood furniture and muted colors. All in all, the room had a kind of shaker furniture appeal. The bedding was cozy and the pillows were excellent. I liked […] the selection of materials in the bathroom and bedroom. I wish I could stay here for a week! That said, a few very minor complaints: (1) the clock radio is okay as a clock and lousy as a radio. I could not tune in either of Boston's NPR stations, not WGBH-FM nor WBUR-FM, (2) I liked having the TV's sound piped into a loudspeaker near the bed, but I could not control the volume with the TV remote control; I had to get up (the agony of it all!) and adjust the volume on the stereo receiver, and (3) I liked the writing desk, but it took me a few moments to figure out that a folding chair was stashed in the wardrobe for just this purpose. A small card in the room directing the guest to the chair-in-the-wardrobe would be helpful. But those are minor points. Mainly, I liked it here. I liked the service; I liked the small size; I liked the continental breakfast in the morning; I liked the reliable and fast wifi; and most of all -- other than my room -- I liked the CharlesMark's signature macaroon cookies. I'll be back! Don't change a thing, folks, except you might invest in better clock radios for your guests -- maybe the kind with iPod/iPad docks? Read more
"Good solid experience"
Location was terrific, room was very clean and well-appointed. It was very small, no problem for our short stay. If your stay is for a work purpose and you need room to spread out, desk space, this may not work for you.
"Location, location, location"
The Charlesmark is not your best bet if you want a plush lounge and loads of amenities. It is, however, an attractive little hotel in a fantastic location. The bedroom was a bit small but very well designed. The bathroom was well-equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, even with the stylish bar downstairs. I hope to return on my next […] visit to Boston. Read more
