Great service, good food and really good weather! Would highly recommend - we'll be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed during what is considered the off season - October 13 - 17.. Restaurants opened on unpublished schedule, some not at all on some days, opened 30 to 40 minutes late first day. Made it hard to plan work schedule. Drinks were good, quality of food at non-buffet restaurants was excellent. Buffet restaurants had limited selection due to off season. […] Pools and beach were very nice. Plenty of wide open areas to walk the beach. Surf was very strong, Red and Black flags every day we were there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is great !!!! Not to big not to small, they have great service, the people who work there are very friendly. Food is available all day long. Make sure this hotel is not located in Cabo San Lucas, where most outdoor activities are (HORSE BACKRIDING, ATVs RIDES, SNORKELING, BOAT RIDE) make sure include transportation in your outside activities, […] but if you need transportation, is not a problem, they have good taxi service with good car for $ 35.00 each way to Cabo San Lucas. "Very Nice location"
We were very surprised. Beautiful grounds, clean pools, nice people. It was our first time in the Cabo area, we needed to be stress free and this place afforded us the time to sleep and relax. The food was OK, drinks were good, and entertainment at night was OK. We enjoyed going up to the sports bar. We would go up nightly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"First time in Los Cabos a HIT!"
HOLA Grand Faro far exceeded our expectations. The staff were all so nice and helpful. Our room was very nice and had a beautiful ocean view (if you book earlier they give you room preference). The facilities were beautiful and well maintained, but Internet did cost to use. It is a good idea to bring your own beach towel if you want to do a night swim(totally […] awesome!) because the towel service ends around 7:00pm. The all tile flooring is gorgeous, but be careful because it gets slippery. We were smart and visited during the off season and didn't have to deal with loud and wild children. It is way slower late August thru October and their Hurricane season is almost non existent. The food was really good. It is all inclusive, and far better than we expected from reading really negative reviews. We would definitely visit again, mostly because the awesome bar staff. They were so fun loving even though they were in the off season. The waters are choppy so you can't swim in the ocean, but beach walks were lovely, very clean and you might see some sea turtles laying eggs! There is a turtle refuge in walking distance. If you came here to relax you came to the right place. The best bartenders were Octavio and Michael at the main bar, and Alejandro at the pool bar. Jasmine was the sweetest hostess. Tipping is a good idea. This was by far a top notch vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Get away to Paradise"
Great experience, great food, and probably the kindest staff you'll ever meet. Couldn't say enough about the customer service. Don't expect to party here though it's about 20 mins away from Cabo. Nice get away to just relax and soak up the sun.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good but one thing could have been better"
The hotel was great. The only problem we had was the hotel was always short on towels for taking showers. I would get mad because instead of telling us they may bring more later they would just being none at all. I would have to call and wait about 20 minutes before showeringGenuine Expedia guest review
"If you want bad food & a hard bed...."
*Front desk staff is very cold upon entering and leaving. *Beware of booking any extra stuff to do, sunset cruise etc. Agent took an extra $100 from me. *Deluxe beach front room, had a great view. Beds were extremely hard. Floors dirty. They did bring up extra cushions after I asked 4 times. The cushions were not clean..housekeeper made the best of […] what she had. *Food in all restaurants were not very good. They make best on what they have, you will see deli meats( from buffet) served as an app in the Italian restaurant. I was ill from food alot. *Pool bartenders and servers are great, very friendly. I was disappointed they do not serve beer in cans or bottles. They use the same bottle of beer to pour for everyone till its gone. The mixed drinks were not strong, had great taste but never had a "buzz". *If you want night entertainment, this is not the place. Light house bar closes at 11:30pm latest. Downstairs bar very dull, Lesson learned, spend extra $ to stay closer to downtown cabo & get a better resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"hotel is ok, close to the beach"
my experience about hola grand faro is not so good. i think that this hotel is managed wrong way.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great value. I've been to the other chains, such as Riu or Iberostar or Barceló which are fine, but this hotel was on par at a very, VERY low price, though. Food was great, drinks terrific (with a variety of good brands). The fine dining restaurants are excellent. We liked the Italian food one but LOVED the Mexican. Greatly surprised for the different […] and ORIGINAL approach on fine Mexican cuisine. You can take the bus to the town right down the street. Area is very safe for your morning run on the beach or to go to the shops across the street. We even walked to town 1 day and felt very safe. (make sure you go to the art shop next to the main church it's like a museum even if you don't buy anything). The staff is very friendly, especially at the restaurants. Make sure you attend the Mexican fiesta show on Friday, it is excellent, and the buffet that night is TERRIFIC. Front desk let us check in way earlier than the posted time and solved any request we had with the room immediately (more towels, extra soap, etc.); property was kept pretty neat, lots of lounge chairs with great views and lots of umbrellas if you want shade as well as sun. Did not even have to get up for a drink as waiters kept coming to bring more drinks upon request. Go to their Sky sports bar. Great drinks with an amazing view. It only took us 20 minutes to get to the airport each way. There is an estuary nearby for great bird watching and we even got to see baby turtles go into the sea! "Great staff, nice facilities and location"
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times as it's a short distance from the airport, on a great beach and very close to the San Jose business district. We prefer San Jose to Cabo San Lucas and with the new marina finished we have all activities close by. We can get from LAX to the hotel room generally in 3 to 3 1/4 hours flat, assuming no flight delays […] (a lot of practice getting off the plane, through immigration and into the pre-reserved car to minimize the time). The staff is one of the main reasons we keep coming back: Irene at La Isla does a great job. We enjoy Agrpino, Julio and Sr. Bettencourt - great bartenders and Gabby at the front desk always takes care of us. The activities guys, Fransisco and Ki are lot's of fun. We went fishing this last trip and the head chef did a fabulous job preparing our catch. Mgmt should implement a frequent guest program, kill the Wii Fi fees and insure more quality liquor in the bars - otherwise everything else is great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Did not meet expectations"
I booked Junior Suite. You would think that Junior Suite would include a living room with a sofa plus Sofa. But this is not what it means from HALO Grand Faro reception personnel perspective. At the reception I was told that Junior Suite I booked by Expedia means just a room in their system. If I need a separate living room it means that I need two […] rooms and I had to pay extra for getting what I had already booked. I could not believe it, but this is what happened. The food served on premises is good while the rest of Hotel amenities is mediocre at best. Guest room air condition sound is too loud you can hardly sleep at night while it's on, it's also difficult to sleep when it's off, because of high humidity and very hot air in the room. The kitchen in Junior Suite I finally got for extra charges had a microwave and sync but no silverware, dishes or cups of any kind whatsoever. Did they expect me to bring all that stuff with me for vacation? I booked Junior Suites in other hotels before including that area and I had never seen anything like that before. Hotel has some number of pools but as adult you would really want to use only one of them, called "infinity" pool with a nice Ocean view. The infinity pool is kind of "OK" but is modest in its size and water is too hot by the end of the day. The other pool that is the largest one is too shallow and used mostly by children. If you need wifi connection is available for 15 USD per day. No that's not a joke. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel. Walking distance to beach."
Great clean room with ocean view. Quite side of cabo which we liked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very family oriented. Not for couples."
Kinda boring in the evening if you don't have kids. Evenings kinda end early. Pools are only 4 feet deep. Dinner buffet was not very good but breakfast was great. Restaurants were nothing special.Genuine Expedia guest review
When we arrived we had to stand in line for 1:45 min. to register they only had two staff for more than 10 guest to check in, we had the same problem at the check out time as well. other than above, very nice hotel, and nice staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Forget going to the beach, or room service."
Forget going to the beach high ties, dangers, red flag on going on the beach, can't swim or get in the water, one person drowned at the beach, because of the same reason Los Cabos is not a good idea to go the beach in los cabos are not safe to go swimming because the water have very strange waves. There bin a lot of drowning, in there beaches for the […] same reason, so pretty much just spending your time in there pools, which no one goes to the restroom, at all during this time? Also room service is not included in the all inclusive, there is a charge of 6.00 dollars, for every service, also there beds are like sleeping on the floor, if you are over weight, you will not get a good night sleep, for the same reason, people are friendly and the other services are great the food and drinks are great as well, but like I said if you are a beach person and would like to spent your time on the beach forget it, Dangerous very dangerous, my family and my self rather go to Cancun at least the waters there are better and great to swim, and clean, you can not compare it at all, first and last time we are going to Los Cabos, we rather go to Cancun ten time more, then here. "Nice location with service problems"
Reserved a junior suite with a king bed. After a long wait in line at the front desk, was informed that only 2 double beds were available. Wife not happy! Nice pools and great beach however the ocean was too rough to enter During the entire stay. Main problem with the hotel is really with staffing. Long waits at the front Desk, long waits for drinks […] at the pool bar. Selection and quality of the dinner buffet was poor but the 2 reservation only Restaurants were good. Bellman "Mario" was extremely helpful. The staff tried their best but Poor staffing made it difficult for them and their guests. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Hotel for a Good Price"
The hotel pools were big enough to not have to feel crowded. The swim up bar service was ridiculously slow. Also by the end of our stay it had rained and a lot of garbage was blown into the pools and I asked repeatedly to have them be cleaned and nothing was done. The pools were clean otherwise than the debris from the rain. The Staff was friendly, […] but I feel that since tips are not expected (being that it is an all inclusive and they are already included) they are slow and do things at their speed and convenience. The food was excellent. The restaurants had different menus for different nights so if you stayed for several nights you wouldn't eat the same food twice. The drinks were decent and the staff was willing to make you any drink requested. The beach is BEAUTIFUL, other than not being able to swim in the ocean it was perfect. Good stay for the $$ paid. I highly recommend Hola Grand Faro, my husband and I came here for week and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is located in a residential area, VERY SAFE. It has shops, bars and night clubs with in walking distance (e.g., 5 to 10 min. walk) and the hotel it self is in excellent conditions. Our room had an ocean view and was very modern. The hotel is about […] 20 min. away from the airport and Cabo San Lucas (e.g. where the Arch is). Taxi's can be a bit pricey (e.g., $35.00 dollars one way to Cabo San Lucas or airport) so I would recommend to book your excursions with transportation included (e.g., we went through Olympus Tours at the hotel and they were great prices) or take the bus which was totally safe, we went on it a few times during the day, it was 9.50 pesos which is a little under a dollar. Overall amazing time and big Kudos to all the Staff especially Anna (waitress at the pool area) and Raymundo (waiter and the buffet). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Everything about the hotel was "Just OK" We have now been to 6 all inclusives in the last three years. RIU Santa Fe,, Royal Solaris, Melia, etc. All of the same general class. This one was just OK. We keep waiting for one to draw us back for a return trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"All Inclusive hotel plan in Los CABOS"
We stayed there for 6 nights with 2 adults and 3 children. We booked two rooms side-by-side to housing total of 5 people. Close to beach, friendly restaurant staffs. Clean pools including adult only area and salt water pool which is facing to ocean view. These are great. We visited another all inclusive hotel in Cancun last year. Compared to our previous […] experience in Cancun, breakfast buffet in this hotel is acceptable but not so impressive in terms of quality of menu and deserts. Pool bar is always crowded, but bartenders worked so hard and friendly enough to take care of the hotel guests. Reservation-Only restaurant were fantastic. Good quality and tasty food fully served for you. Again, staffs are professional, kind, diligent, paying detail attention. Room was clean, nice, ocean view, easy to access pool area and beach. One negative thing is AC. AC did not work and they fixed but strange noise has been coming out of the AC unit, which bothers our sleep. But any thing happened, their engineering staffs showed up promptly and fixed it. We really appreciate it. One big CON is reception staffs. Basically they don't have concierge. There are one person who has been taking care of daily restaurant reservation, two person are non hotel employee but taking care rent car and optional tour service. 2-3 receptionists have been taking care of ALL customers, who check-in, misc questions, rental game tools, etc. Reception area is always congested and needed to wait soooo long. "Better than the reveiws!!!"
After reading all the reveiws about how bad the food was I was a little sceptical about this place. We have been to a lot of all-inclusives and the food here was better than most. This place is a great value. The Hotel staff is nice. The only cons to this hotel is they do not serve alcohol until 11:00 am so no bloody marys in the morning. The front […] desk and bars were really understaffed. Other than that it was great. Would definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I arrived with great hopes. Your first view is beautiful. The ocean looks wonderful from the entry way. Mario the bellman was great. He recommend a wonderful restaurant and helped me and my friend out greatly. Had a wonderful attitude and personality. If only the rest of the staff was the same. I would say 90% of the staff did not speak any english […] at all. Ordering a drink in the lobby consisted of pointing at bottles trying to get what you wanted. The politeness consisted mainly when they addressed you as "hey lady". Common courtsey did not exist. Now for the deluxe ocean view room consisted of a view of the alley with graffiti. The room itself was fine for a basic room in which the safe would take at least 50 attempts to open. The housecleaning staff would not leave towels or wash cloth. I had to beg housecleaning for towels and wash cloth and only received one of each for room with 2 people in it. That is not a relaxing vacation when everyday you have to beg for items to clean yourself. Oh my goodness and don't ask for tooth paste or a razor. It took 2 days and us taking the guest service book to the front desk to show they do provide those items. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel for a Honeymoon!"
I could not have made a better choice for my honeymoon. I loved Hola Grand Faro!! The hotel staff there is amazing, from the lobby to the restuarants! "Perfect family resort!"
My husband and I are middle-class, in our 30s and I have a 1 year old daughter. We were looking for a relaxing, easy, affordable family vacation. With that in mind, this is a perfect place to stay! I was extremely nervous after reading all the reviews of the HOLA Grand Faro since there is a lot of negativity out there. Here's what my husband and I […] concluded: This is NOT the resort for a romantic getaway as a young couple or a place to party in your 20s. This is also NOT a luxury resort- you have to pay luxury prices for that! This IS a great, affordable place for families to have a good time. The resort is on the small side and felt very empty, even though they said they were 80% full. We had NO trouble getting chairs by the pool or getting a reservation in the restaurant. The only time we had to wait in line for the bufffet was Sunday morning. The staff was incredibly helpful and very accommodating for our daugther. They brought us a crib, made her special meals in the restaurant and always helped us get a high chiar. The room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and pretty large. Every room has a private balcony with an ocean view and that was AMAZING! The buffet food was adequate- not fancy- but fresh and with lots of variety. It had tons of good choices for kids! We only ate at the Mexican restaurant, but that was very good and the service was exceptional. We definitely plan to stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I have to say that the pool and the view was amazing. The guys who worked at the pool and the servers were awesome, the bartenders, the security, servers, amazing....cristian, Luis, Miriam, Pedro, Mizael, but front desk bad. I did not get the room I booked. The food was horrible, like almost impossible to eat, hair at the mustard bottle, seriously disgusting. […] I'm never coming back. We have to leave the hotel to eat. "Not as advertised!!!"
Front Desk: while friendly, there was a language barrier for BASIC English and lack of knowledge of surrounding areas (ex. local restaurants, local activities, etc.). When approached about several POPULAR restaurants that we found on Trip Advisor, they were clueless only to discover that 2 of the restaurants we ate at (El Matador and Don Sanchez) were […] both LESS THAN A MILE AWAY!?! Room: We stayed in the Sol Tower so our review is based solely on this. The views were great...panoramic in fact. The a/c ran perfectly, but has a sensor and cuts off when you leave the room. The pillows are soft, but the bed is hard. The towels feel like brillo pads.....seriously!! If you have the slightest bit of sunburn, USE WITH CAUTION! You might even consider bringing your own. While my husband and I both occupied the room, we were only provided one face towel for the duration of our stay. Property: Clean and well maintained. There was only one working elevator. Structure needs updating. Pool Atmosphere: There's no separation from children and adults. Children are allowed in all the pools....including the pool with the swim up bar!?! Daily pool volleyball was entertaining! Beach: Nice, however, the hotel does not protect it's patrons from the onslaught of beach vendors (as we are accustomed to at other resorts where there's an obvious barrier between hotel guests and vendors). You will NOT sunbathe in peace!!!! Dining: AWFUL!!!!!!!! We recommend ONLY eating breakfast! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is nice - the grounds are beautiful, the pools excellent and the beach area is really great! We found the staff to be attentive with one exception - the daily maid service was slow and we ended up calling multiple times for towels. Warning - the beds are really hard with no relief available and room staff didn't do a good job of making them […] up as we chose not to have our linens changed daily. I ended up remaking our bed three days in a row after the maids had been there. We were able to walk the length of the beach from a sea wall about a mile north to the estuary about 1/2 mile south of the resort - that was wonderful! Drinks and food were great - no issues, wonderful breakfasts, good coffee! Loved the special grilling and mexican food stations! Excellent pico and guacamole every day! "Cement Slabs For Beds"
Hola Grand Faro could have a lot going for it. The resort is beautiful with lovely pools at the perfect temperature. The rooms are clean and the food decent, some of it is even great. The entertainment is fun with beautiful costumed dancers and decent singers. What it needs desperately is competent front desk management and comfortable beds. The beds […] are T E R R I B L E. We read reviews and knew the beds were hard but 'the problem was fixed with foam pads.' This was NOT our experience. It took days and multiple complaints and constant follow up to get any help at all. The front desk staff was rude and flat out lied to us. The first request for foam pads secured us thin fabric mattress pads. They were happy to give us two! I went back to the desk to make sure there wasn't miscommunication - we needed foam NOT mattress pads - we were assured this was it. The following morning after not sleeping a wink we demanded a new room and were shown two rooms with equally hard beds. But, they could offer us... FOAM! Hang on, we asked for that yesterday and got fabric. Common now. Clearly this is a problem, there is a Wal-Mart down the road and foam costs $17. There should not be a shortage. The awful part is that after all the complaints we received thin, broken down foam pads on our beds. By then my back had already gone out and I was in pain the rest of the trip. We requested more foam hoping to stack them up but after 4-5 tries and no results we gave up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
