"Location is great, as is the hotel."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. We could hear the bells of the abbey and look out to see the parade grounds. I was initially concerned that a BW may be a big box, but they have sensitively maintained much of the character of the wonderful old hotel while incorporating modern amenities like a full, modern, spacious bathroom. We opted for the breakfast inclusive package and found it to be robust and offering many options. We set out on foot and did the whole city from this great central location.
"Brooklands B&B, Weston-s-mare - perfect!"Reviewed by Dave & Jeanni K of "Belleville, IL, USA" on Apr 17, 2012
We stayed 2 weeks. The owner and staff are very efficient, accommodating, and pleasant. The location was perfect and the facility was excellent. We will stay again.
"Pleasant Setting and Charming Family"Reviewed by Norman T of "Dallas, TX" on Apr 17, 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was in an idylic country town which afforded great access to local sites such as Bath. Family was an absolute charm with homey rooms with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast.... Would definitely stay there again....

The Macdonald Bath Spa is lovely, the staff is helpful and attentive. We were automatically upgraded to a suite which was a wonderful surprise. No complaints. Would definitely stay there again.

"Hilton Garden Inn in Bristol Temple Meads, UK"
Very convenient position just a short walk from/to the train station and everything else. Room is very good with the Mac Apple as the TV/computer so the sound is very good! Very good quality toiletry supplies. Strongly recommended to everyone who wants to visit Bristol with plenty of very impressive churches, old architecture, even the library's is […] very good. "Good value for money"
Excellent hotel. Comfortable and clean bedrooms and very attentive staff. Breakfast was of a good standard and overall brilliant value for money.,
"Lovely modern hotel"
Stayed at the City inn for just one night for a break in our long journey back from Cornwall to Windermere. One of my worries about staying in a city hotel is the car parking - how much? availability etc, but this was ideal. £8 for a full 24 hours stay and if you time it right then there's plenty of spaces. Very easy to find too. A nice stroll through […] the park to the main bars/restaurants made its location perfect. The rooms were as well presented as any hilton I've stayed in with all the nice touches including toiletries, iron, hairdryer, robes, aircon, tea & coffee, wine glasses, bottle opener, ice box, and free imac use which doubles up as your tv. Very nice modern hotel. Will be going back to Bristol to stay in this hotel, and will try the others around Manchester & Leeds. Perfect stay! Read more
"Very comfortable stay"
Hotel was clean and tidy, staff were polite. Hotel was very quiet, even though there were very many people at breakfast. I would never have guessed the hotel was that full. Breakfast was disappointing though, tables were dirty – dirty cutlery and there wasn't much choice. Other than that, a very nice experience.
"Not as nice as expected"
While this hotel was a decent value, it was not quite as nice as the City Inn Westminster. It seemed a little more worn and smaller. It was still worth the deal we got from this website.
"Good solid budget hotel"
City Inn is a good solid budget choice. We stayed there on a Saturday night. The service was efficient, we were able to check in straight away despie arriving a little early. The room was well appointed, spotlessly clean and the bed supremely comfortable. Breakfast was the standard cooked breakfast with buffet choice of cereals, juice etc. Service […] at breakfast could have been a little bit more attentive but this is a minor quibble. The hotel is around 10 minutes walk to the centre of Bristol, 30-40 minutes to some of the more interesting sights. It is very quiet and we enjoyed an excellent night's sleep. Read more
"Perfect with small exceptions"
A delightfully comfortable hotel with very helpful and friendly staff but breakfast was a let down. Saturday morning the toast was cold and the coffee strong enought to build on. Sunday they had wedding guests from Saturday and breakfast was a disaster, nothing was replenished as it ran out. However everything we asked for was brought fairly promptly, […] but we did have to ask for almost everything. A wee bit of planning wouldn't have gone astray. Hotel is across a small quiet road from a lovely little park, a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Harbourside area and five minutes walk from Temple Meads train station and the airport bus stop. "Excellent"
I absoltuely loved this hotel. The room, whilst not particularly big, was very nicely laid out, clean, tidy, smart with everything you need (iron, mini-bar, wine, dressing gown, wardrobe, hairdryer, table, chairs etc.). Main feature was use of Apple iMac in each room including full use of internet at no charge, video conferencing at no charge plus TV […] with Sky channels. Resturant was very good and breakfast to a high standard. Service provided was to a high standard too. Read more
"Convenient location with free internet in room"
There is an iMac in the room and it is free to use the internet. My daughter is very happy about it.
"Convenient and good value"
If you get a good price, then this is good value. Hotel is close to Temple Meads and convenient for Cabot Circus. Rooms are comfortable although mine only had a shower not a bath. Car park is not huge so although I got a space, I suppose it could get full at busy times.

"Would defo stay again!"
Nice room with really strong comfy bed. Apple Mac in room with internet and TV which was good! Nice tea/coffee selection. No cheap rubbish. Bathroom a little small but all working. Friendly staff and helpful when you need them. Josh was a top bloke! Thanks Cant wait to stay again.

Hotel was very nice. Really enjoyed the Apple TV too.
"Mint Hotel, Bristol"
The hotel was a short walk from both Bristol Temple Meads station and the main shopping centre. The staff were extremely helpful and the room very pleasant. It was not huge, but unless you are Texan, you will probably find it to be just right. Breakfast was excellent too!

"High tech, super hotel"
All was wonderful, except finding the hotel. Don't rely on the navigation system, it will not take you there. Hotels.com should provide the hotel's phone number on the reservation confirmation so we can call them when lost. Otherwise, hotel and staff were super. Very busy at breakfast time, so the team struggled a bit, but still awesome place.
"Mint hotel Bristol"
A well located hotel with helpful staff. Clean and well looked after. Breakfast was good and coffee excellent. Idael for a short break as inexpensive and near to main route to the motorway system easy walk into the centre.
"nice hotel"
clean room, helpful assistance
"The Mint Hotek in Bristol"
The hotel staff were very helpful and location of the property is near the town centre. However the room and bathroom is somewhat small.

"Mint Hotel Bristol - Close to all attractions"
A great hotel, really close to the train station and city centre, everywhere's within 10-15 minutes walking distance. We arrived early, but the receptionist was extremely helpful and accomodating and found an available room so we were able to check in early. The room itself was great, but beware the prices of the extras! Free TV and internet access […] though, on the Mac, which kept us entertained! Read more

"Disappointing"
Having had a pleasant stay here last year, I was disappointed on our return. Reception staff were pleasant but muddled. We were invited to pay for breakfast, despite the fact that we had prepaid B&B. My printed confimation from hotels.com resolved the problem I asked for a twin room but was informed that none was available, only to find that our room […] was indeed twin bedded. Continteal breakfast comprised the usual cereal, breads, rolls etc., but I was surprised to find meats and cheese left on an uncooled, uncovered slab. Read more
"Mint Hotel"
The hotel was great, they extended my checkout time for an hour for free (so I could shower after the half marathon), but when I phoned reception for some toothpaste they wanted to charge me £4, I hope for that money they would brush my teeth for me!

"Mint Hotel"
We stopped at the Mint hotel to break up a journey back from Cornwall. Rooms clean and good value for the price. Not quite budget, not quite luxury somewhere inbetween. Nice finishing touches ie the imacs, the white company toiletries. Would recommend. If you intend to to eat at city cafe book first, the maitre'd refused us saying it was fully booked...clearly […] empty tables...we walked away then turned back saying we wanted to book for 9pm of course he had to oblige. Food good, portion size tiny ! Go for the 3 courses set. Oh if you arrive after six park at the nearby public car park free after 6pm til 8 am why pay 10 pounds for the hotel carpark. Read more
"Mint hotel Bristol"
This was a last minute booking as we were too tired to drive from an event in Wolverhampton to Cornwall in one day. The hotel is clean and crisp, the reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good - although the restaurant was freezing! The apple macs in the rooms are useful but do not work well as TVs. It constantly kept sticking and […] need rebooting. Rooms small but laid out well with everything you would need. I would defintiely stay again. Read more
"Mint in bristol"
Good hotel close to city centre and temple meads train station. Would use hotel again. Didn't use restaurant so can't comment. Friendly staff.
"Mint Hotel Bristol"
The Mint website created an impression of Mint Hotel Bristol that didn't realluy match the reality unfortunately. The lobby area was nice (although not especially well positioned if you are coming in from the car park) but the stairwells and landing areas were quite tired. The room was nice enough and everything was clean but nothing was exceptional […] or as high class as I expected from the website. The various information pieces in the room were all very dog eared and worn. For the location, the rooms were very quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. One of the selling features for me was that all rooms have an iMac with free internet access. However, the internet wasn't working when I stayed which was disappointing. The car park was atrocious and, although I think the spaces were smaller than normal (presumably to fit more in), other people's parking was atrocious. I went to my car the next morning and could only get into my car by cilming in through a back door!! Also, there were lots of trade vehicles parked blocking the car park the next morning as the car park is just a single strip of spaces which would be very annoying (luckily the conference centre I was attending was walking distance from the hotel). The hotel was well positioned and was a good deal for the (special) price I paid. However, I have stayed in budget hotels for less that are of a similar standard (except for the non-working iMac!) which makes it hard to rate Mint Hotel highly. I was expecting it to deliver quite a lot from such a superb website, and it disappointed. Read more
"The Mint hotel Bristol"
Good clean comfortable hotel, close to most attractions, with helpful staff and a good restuarant, that was a pleasure to eat in, however we did not have breakfast due to the outrageous price being charged. The room although small was well appointed with free internet/tv , ironing board/iron and tea/cofee facilities. The bed was a good size but the […] mattress was in need of replacing. Overall our stay was enjoyable and we would stay again. Read more
"Mint hotel Bristol"
Check in was fast and efficient and the staff were very friendly. Slightly annoyed about the £10 car parking fee but its a pretty standard charge these days. I would go back. I didn't use the resturant or gym. My room was very clean and a nice standard.
"Adequate"
The hotel is fine other than the beds were uncomfortable the room was to small for the furniture and the charge for using the car park. In all it was adequate but I would not go there again as there are better hotels in the area for around the same price.
"Too many expensive add-ons"
I have been to this hotel twice before and generally liked it, in particular because the rooms are comfortable (although small) and well equipped; I like the availability of free wi fi internet access which I think is essential for business travel. However, I have over the course of my visits been conscious that the price is creeping up and that, in […] particular, where I would previously get things like breakfast and parking included in the price, they have now become expensive extras. Breakfast in particular is grossly overpriced for what is an indifferent meal - on my second day I went out and had a much better breakfast for a third of the price. Room service meals are also very expensive for what they are, and there is in the small print a substantial extra "tray charge" for this service. I am therefore unlikely to return as other hotels in Bristol offer better value for money. Read more

"Minimalist style"
Lovely hotel. A nice touch is that all rooms have Mac computers; they also serve as your TV. It's located about 5 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads station - very handy if you're using it a lot. I was attending a couple of rugby matches in Cardiff, so it was perfect for me. It's about 25 minutes walk from Bristol city centre, so not the most ideal […] location if Bristol is your focus; the surrounding area is fairly empty. I'd still stay in it again, though, even if I was only visiting Bristol - it was my fourth stay here (all for Cardiff rugby), & all of them have been very pleasant. Read more
"Mint Hotel Bristol - short walk to station or city"
Good location especially if getting in from Temple Meads. Rear faces over tranquil garden and church ruin. Foyer looks a bit bsic but rooms are nice and very comfortable. WC is quite confined and only has a shower. iMac is good, but didnt spend time working out all its capabilities! Breakfast is expensive - we went up the road to Che's for half the […] price. "Mint Hotel Bristol"
This is a very conveniently situated hotel, close to the main railway station and city centre. The staff were helpful but not particularly efficient. Room was good with a nice bathroom attached. Television and internet provided on an Apple PC which was a nice feature.
"Stylish"
This is a stylish, modern hotel, & this was my third time to stay here. A nice touch is the iMac in each room, which serves as everything from stereo to TV, as well as computer. It's a 5 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, & about 20 mins walk to the city centre. The area around it is uninteresting - office buildings - but it's very handy […] for those travelling by train. Each time I stayed here I was commuting to Cardiff for matches at the Milenium Stadium - it's perfect for that. Even if Bristol is the focus of your trip, it's still a lovely hotel. (Parts of Bristol are very charming - it's worth a visit.) One negative - the bed wasn't particulalrly comfortable. Read more

"Mint Hotel Bristol-always welcoming."
Have stayed here on 4 occasions now and have never been disappointed. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Temple Meads station and although on a busy dual carriage-way it always seems quiet. The rooms at the back of the hotel overlook a small park and are always peaceful. The staff, particularly at reception, seem to stay and are always cheerful and obliging. […] There are usually 2 for 1 deals on breakfast available as long as you pay in advance ( on arrival) and as the breakfasts are very good this is a bonus. The rooms are small but have always been spotlessly clean. The bed is large and very comfortable. There is a small exercise room with 2 treadmills and a nice bar area with big red leather couches ( great for reading the Sunday papers on). The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Cabot Circus shopping mall and 15 minutes from the city centre. Read more

"A pleasant stay"
Quick and efficient check in, quite friendly staff. The lobby and corridor might look dull and boring but the room was very nice and well maintained. The bed was comforatable. The iMac was fantastic and the toilet was great. The hotel may not be in the centre of activity but the area was quiet and walkable to city centre.
"Happy Bristol Stay at the Mint Hotel"
the welcome was possessional and quick, with polite helpful staff. The room was a good size for 2 nights stay with good facilities such as the iscreen tv. the bed was very comfortable and shower room was excellent with good products. complimentary tea and coffee and an ironing board and hair dryer. The food from room service was superb and reasonably […] priced and I didnt have to wait long. As i was very tired and only needed a quick drink from the bar, which had a good ambience and was quiet. Cant fault the hotel as comparing the others locally where i did a course was surprised to find it to be the cheapest option. Having stayed all over the world I would have no worries in selecting or recommending this hotel, a good 4 star if a little characterless or perhaps sterile, not a bad thing. Close to all bars and restaurants and the dock area. Read more

"Good value - great food"
Very friendly and helpful staff + generally don't have to wait in any queue at reception. Food is usually excellent - nothing like your usual hotel chain rubbish! Certainly good enough to go for something to eat even if you're not staying there. Rooms aren't massive but very convenient and clean. No bath, but good shower which is fine for me. Having […] a MAC with full internet access is great. Have stayed there plenty of times and always check if the City Inn is available first. Read more
