Booked an interior room but since it was not busy my husband requested a room with a view. We were granted this with no problem. Had a beautiful room with a great view and balcony! We even had a late checkout! Will definitely book here again to experience needed R&R in offseason weekends.

When we booked our room, it had been described as possibly not being as deluxe or having views as other rooms. Wonderful location and complex. It is a timeshare condo arrangement with many different room sizes and prices. We went with the smallest which was like a hotel room. Next time i will pay a bit more for more room and a view of water.

Our room was very small-- we stayed in an interior/windowless room however there was a frosted transom window that let a night light from outside in that was annoying. The man who checked us in was unfriendly and commented how busy he was. The pool was absolutely beautiful.

We arrived late for check in but there wasn't any issue with that. The room was ok, but in need of maintenance and updating. The walls had gouges in them and needed to be repaired. The room is quite plain, I expected more for the price. The bathroom was dimly lit and the shower head is at a very strange height, I'm 5'4" and it was at about shoulder […] height for me. My poor husband at 6'0" had an awkward time. The toilet was malfunctioning, it wouldn't flush properly, obviously needed repair - and I say obviously because they must have already known - there was a plunger next to it. Yuck. The amenities available were not worth the price paid to stay at the resort. There was no business center, and we needed a computer to view some attachments in an e-mail. The check-in process literally took 40 minutes because there was only one person at the front desk. The beach was horrible. I would not stay here again.

The room was nice, but the shower was terrible. I felt like I was taking a bath, the drain was plugged and ,I stood in 2" of water. This may sound petty I would thjink that this would not be a problem.It should have been obvious to the cleaning crew. Makes me think the room wasn't as clean as I thought.

I was a recent guest at this hotel and conference center. I was there for a wedding that took place at the conference center. I have advice to anyone thinking about this property....look elseware! It was grossly over priced for the service that was provided. The room was tiny, and dark. The bathroom was so dark and dim that I had trouble applying my […] make up for the wedding. I was awoken at midnight to a knock on the door, the wait staff were delivering towels....to the wrong room! There is no breakfast included with this over priced room, friends stayed at other nearby hotels with offered breakfast and for much less. The lobby is not even in the same building as the hotel and the hotel is not well marked. The wedding reception was ok, the food was cold, it took 2 hrs to server all of the guests. There were no forks provided to eat the cake. All and All....this place was as bad as any that I've seen. You have a lot of choices of hotels in Petoskey, you can do much better! Read more

Room is 1/2 half of a small condo. Our side was the living room and kitchen with a Murphy bed, but did have a doorwall with a small balcony and a nice view of the lake. Our friends' side had 2 beds and bathroom but no windows or doorwall. Very small and basic but OK for a short stay.

Beware; the hotels.com website listed this room as "lake view" but the room actually looked down on main street. The room was very clean, spacious, and well decorated and appointed, but the main reason I booked a room at this premium price was to get a view of Lake Michigan, which the room did not have.

Heaven forbid that I should stay a minute after 11:00 AM (check-out time) even though we had a stressful problem: my wife lost a very expensive ear-ring. We had a fabulous time. The pool Lake Michigan, super city of Petoskey and surrounding area are awesome without the tacky feeling one usually experiences at resort locations! I really was able to unwind, check out awesome scenery at every turn and enjoy the people and shops of the area.

Okay, so it was my mistake to assume that there was just one hotel with "Bay Harbor" in its name and to book this one without reading the description. To clarify in case others fall prey to the same assumption: This property is a set of condos managed by a rental company (do not come expecting valet service, help with luggage, morning coffee, etc.). […] This property is not the full-service resort in Bay Harbor (the resort with full service, spa, etc. is called the Inn at Bay Harbor). Looking past my mistaken expectations, my complaints about the room itself are things that could be easily fixed but were, nevertheless, the small things that made our stay terribly uncomfortable: The small window above the door needs a curtain to block the outdoor fluorescent light from shining directly into one's eyes in bed; Although there was a dimmer on the bathroom light and a lighted makeup mirror, the light in the bathroom was inadequate (even if both light bulbs had been working) - in getting ready for an event I had no idea how my hair looked; Two beds were crammed into a space adequate for one (so one bed blocked the closet door from opening, and mid-night bathroom trips required acrobatics over partner or high footboard as the bed was too close to the wall). Bay Harbor and the surrounding area is a great little place to visit. If the uncomfortable little things about the condo could be eliminated and one didn't mind carrying one's own luggage, I could imagine this property being a convenient place to stay. Read more

My husband and I went to Bay Harbor on a recent trip up north. We were going to go with a slightly higher priced room with a balcony, but I was confused by the explanation that it had a "shared balcony" so we went with the less-expensive room instead. We knew it wouldn't have a view, but we were totally shocked to find it didn't have any WINDOWS! I […] had never been in a room without windows before. The room was clean enough, but it felt small and cramped and so dark. Also, our bathroom didn't have a bathtub, only a stand up shower. This wasn't a big deal for us, but we were traveling with our 3 month old daughter, and no bathtub meant no bath. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was nice enough, and the view was good. You can't really use the beach because it's just rocks leading into the water. We ended up spending most of our outdoor time at a nearby pool bar just a short walk down the beach. One thing that really bugged my husband: we didn't have a fridge in our room, so we needed to keep refilling our cooler with ice (baby=need to keep things cold).
