"Excellent location and close to everything"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel and staff are wonderful and we will definitely stay there on our next visit to Barcelona! The room was very clean and neat and the daily maid service was exceptional. The front desk staff was very professional and courteous. Wi-Fi in the room was excellent. Walking out of the hotel and looking up at the Cathederal every morning was surreal. Beautiful hotel and wonderful location!

"Unbelievably Great Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed for a five night family vacation. Our room for three was very nice with a king bed and sofa bed. Efficiency kitchen with dishes and silverware and cookware. Compact refrigerator. Very well located in Eixample neighborhood one block from metro station. Easy walk to many restaurants and the Passieg Gracia or upper part of the Rambla Cataluna. However the BEST was the service of the front desk. Whatever the request they were ceaseless in their efforts to please and accommodate. Information, directions, recommendations for eating and transportation, ticketing. The staff could not do enough for us. This is service that is rare to find in the amenities industry: a true personal touch. My family can heartily recommend the Acacia Suites for a Barcelona vacation. The only negative for some is that it is not located directly on Plaza Cataluna or the Rambla but if you want a quieter neighborhood, with a local feel it is a very nice place.
"Good and reasonably priced hotel!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
It is easily reached by L99 bus from the airport for 2 EUR. Exit just before police station. Ask the driver to let you know when to exit (police station). After you exit the bus, continue moving forward few hundred yards and turn left to a walk (road) railway overpass. Continue further until you will see the hotel on your left. It is about 10-15 minutes to walk. Railway station is about 25 minutes and the ride to the city is somewhere from 15 -30 minutes depending how many stops. The beach is only 15 minutes walk. I had a great stay, the safe didn't work, and the breakfast was accidentally not included despite I chose the higher rate. Hotels.com told me pay for it and send them receipt to be reimbursed.

Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.

Great hotel, large rooms, 5 mins walk to Rambla. Great service, amazing breakfast. Some rooms have a city view which is fabulous. Also a bike rack for rental makes all the difference. Mini bar in room, Jacuzzi and a shower, free internet. No PPV movies.
"Nice Hotel and Close to the Tourise Din"
Hotel staff was very accomodating and excellent with English. Room service was delicious - and expensive on par with the rates of the hotel. If you poke your head out the window you can see gaps between the building of the water in the non-corner/priciest rooms. If you want to see the harbors the piers are walkable any way. The bed was uncomfortable, […] but they did have nice room darkening shades to help you sleep in. The bath tub was jacuzzi style but with jets in all the wrong places to be massaging and the super shower head with jets down the side lacked any water pressure to back them up either. Both were disappointing to my original glimpse. The Ramblas was a short walk away; past some sketchy characters who are between the pier area and where the tourists really pick up. Not so scary that you can't just feign "Sorry no English/no Spanish" to walk by though, even as a solo gal. So, if you want to really be in the midst of tourist area but still have a nice room, this is a good spot. The metro is at the far end of the avenue (1/2 mi?), so getting to other spots isn't so bad if you don't mind braving the crowd each time. Cab ride between the hotel and airport was robbery at 35 Euros and only 12 km drive. Read more
"Great Hotel! Close to Everything"
Great hotel in a prime location! Everything is within 10-15 minutes walking distance. Would definitely stay there again, the breakfast buffet is overrated but overall a very nice hotel!
"Great Room but Poor Room Service"
Well appointed spacious room with high ceiling. Bathroom is large with bathtub and shower, in marble. King size bed is just fine (comfort). Nice health club on roof of the hotel (the swimming pool is tiny and is closed). Desk people are helpful but room service was very poor: never showed up when we contacted them for turndown! The location is good, […] by the water front (no beach), next to the World Trade Center. The city is very entertaining and there are many restaurants within a walkable distance. Public airport shuttle takes you to Plaza Catalunia in 35 min for 6euro/way. Then a 20 min walk to the hotel via La Rambla. Read more

"The Eurostar Grand Marina: great location!"
Advertises all rooms to have either a Marina or City view, but half of the rooms have a view of the Courtyard...should have requested a city view. "Perfect for Cruise Ship on/off over-night stay"
Only 1 minute walk from Barcelona's cruise ship custom clearance. Clean rooms with nice views of the city - not the harbor. Plenty of taxi and bus service from front door. The "Jump On-Off" bus facilities stops here. Front desk provides excellent english and guide information. No coffee/tea in rooms, and breakfast charges are extremely high - about […] $30USD/pp. Watch out for city taxi drivers not resetting their meters before departure. Overall terrific location for those arriving or departing Barcelona by ship. Read more

"World Class hotel...just avoid room service"
This great hotel right next to Port Vell and the end of the Rambla is a truly luxurious and world class hotel. Great big room, great bed, great bathroom, great view from my balcony. Hot tub is super as well, was a great place to pop some cava and relax after a long day of walking around the city. Service at the front desk was great, they mailed a post […] card for free for me, speak great English and were super nice. Cabs line up right outside the hotel which is very convenient since the hotel is a little walk down the pier to the city proper. Only complaints were that room service was poor and the rooftop pool was closed. Other than that, this was a breathtaking hotel fit for a breathtakingly beautiful city. And for the price, that is certainly what you would expect. Read more
"Eurostar Grand Marina in Barcelona"
We chose the hotel for a 4 day stay because it is near the cruise port from which we were leaving. It is a beautiful hotel with very modern decor and first rate service. Rooms were comfortable, quiet and large by European standards. There is an excellent but rather pricey restaurant on the premises. In a square next to the hotel are some inexpensive […] eateries that provided breakfast and light meals. Our only quibble would be that the hotel is a little far from a Metro stop and a considerable walk to get almost anywhere. Taxis were always available outside the door and a "hop on- hop off" tourist bus had a stop at the hotel as well. Overall, this is a great hotel and I would definitely return. Read more

"Nice Hotel on Marina"
Nice, luxury hotel with clean, large rooms. Location close to shopping and restaurants on marina but a little bit of a hike to the center of las ramblas.
The shower and bathroom were wonderful! We had a room on the end and it was very spacious and comfortable. The beds were hard, but that was common for all three beds we slept in on our European tour (Barcelona + cruise). Be careful you do not have to leave the hotel when there are lots of ships in the port. Traffic gets really bad.

"BARCELONA"
The hotel was in walking distance to everywhere important. Quiet & safe with great staff. The rooms were slightly outdated but very large and clean
We loved the hotel and its location. We had one problem. Our room was very warm. If we opened our balcony door we couldn't sleep because of people partying. The air conditioner needed to be turned on by maintenance staff (master switch) however, that never happened....even after 3 calls to the front desk. For what we paid, I felt we should have had […] the option of air conditioning. Read more

beyond our expectations and a wonder respite after a long trip. Kudos!
"Great place for a pleasant stay with modest flaws"
The Eurostar Grand Marina is a terrific hotel in a great locations (sufficiently near to the old town to permit walking to everywhere, including the metro), with accommodating staff. The bathroom -- which is a pet peeve for me when it comes to hotels -- was sumptuous and well appointed. My stay was very pleasant and marred only by a few modest flaws […] most of which are fixable if the hotel wanted to: i) there is not hot water maker in the room with which to make tea or coffee, ii) no mini-frig, iii) the lighting in the bathroom is grossly insufficient -- especially in the shower area where you are effectively taking a shower in the dark!, and iv) the food in this otherwise wonderful hotel is inferior given that Barcelona is such a great place for dining. "Close to activities but uncomfortable bed"
Pros: The hotel was on a pier and was close to Las Ramblas (about a 5 min walk). The staff was super friendly and there was always a cab available even at 5am. The room was amazing. Wood floors, a jetted tub, a seperate multi-head shower, a double sink and granite counter tops. Free internet is also a huge plus for Americans with no cell phone service. Cons: […] When paying over 500 euro/night (yes I said euros) I expected the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. I was wrong. I got a hard crappy bed that I could have gotten at any motel/hostel. The last think I want is to be on vacation and wake up with back pain. Also, for the price we paid our view sucked! It was of the courtyard. Oh, and the room services was through the roof. 16 euro for a club sandwich with fried. Read more

"Eurostars Grand Marina"
Unlike hotels along La Rambla, this is away from the crowd and very quiet at night. We did walk back through the very isolated part from La Rambla to hotel, but no problem even at 11:00 PM. We arrived early in AM and check in was very quick and efficient. Baggage was put in storage and we started being "tourists in Barcelona," returning around 6 PM […] and baggage was already placed in room. The room faced the city and view was centered on the gondola lift tower which was under repair forbidding loading right at the front of hotel. The area was dense with Tour Sightseeing Buses. The room was slightly larger than a standard Holiday Inn type, but in excellent condition. In morning we avoided rather expensive buffet, because coffee and pastry is our style. That was available in the "World Trade Center Courtyard" which is immediately outside the hotel rear and part of the buildings which all form a large cirlce. We choose the hotel for it's location adjacent to our cruise ship's terminal for check in. Literally adjacent - a super convenience especially in a heavy downpour at the time. We ate one dinner meal in hotel primarily because of an extreme downpour, wind, and lightning. Service was somewhat slow, probably due to unexpected increased number of diners. Food was good, but other restaurants in Barcelona would have been our first choice. There are many excellent hotels in Barcelona, but if you're on a Silver Seas Cruise, or other line that docks at that location, I'd have lots of trouble understanding why you would want to stay anywhere else while touring Barcelona. "Very comfortable room"
But location not ideal, although central and close to las ramblas but in the middle of the harbor. The swimming pool is a joke btw. It's more like a big bath tub than anything. I was expecting more than that for an hotel of this category.
"Grand Marina Suite-Romance Package"
Great suite; Champagne delivered to room late afternoon; Very FIRM mattress; only other complaint was lack of communication that should have told us that comp breakfast could have been served via room service in lieu of buffet.

"Perfect location, great hotel"
Nice location at the end of Las Ramblas. Staff very correct and precise. Upgraded to a suite on arrival. Bottle of wine waiting in the room. discreet turndown service, where they replaced all the bits I'd used.
"Great Stay"
Overall good value for very nice hotel. Centrally located near port and Las Ramblas. Bed was very hard (might just be a European thing). Staff was friendly but not terribly proficient in English.
"Eurostars Grand Marina"
We got off the cruise and were at our hotel within 6 minutes. We checked in early and then walked thru downtown Barcelona. The room was just perfect.....
"The Eurostars Grand Marina, Barcelona, Spain"
It is near the airport and cruise ships. Located close to a stop of a double-decker tour bus. This was very convenient for sightseeing. We were able to tour all day and then we were back the hotel with no worry about taxi, etc. Everything was great at the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.

"Very Nice Hotel with Easy Access to Everything"
There are many positives about staying at the Eurostar Grand Marina. First, we were able to book transporation from the airport to the hotel. This service is provided by the hotel at, what I feel, was a reasonable cost. Our driver was waiting when we arrived in Barcelona. He was very nice and we had an enjoyable ride to the hotel. When we arrived at […] the hotel our room was available. It overlooked the marina and, what I would call, Christopher Columbus square. We had a view nice view of Barcelona. Picture perfect! The room was very large and the bed was not bad. You hear a lot of talk about hard beds in Europe. It was firm but comfortable. The slippers are a nice touch. A breakfast buffet is available. It is a little expensive but it offers a wide choice of items and you can get eggs made to order. The meats, fruits, and cheeses are wonderful. The touristic bus stops in front of the hotel. It is a great way to see the city and the many things it has to offer. You can get on and off the bus all day long for one price. This stop is never crowded and you can easily find a seat on top the bus. If you get on the bus at some of the more popular stops you will have to wait in line and may not get the top of the bus. Getting on at the hotel is a huge plus! The gothic quarter and Las Ramblas are just steps away from the hotel. It is an easy walk. But, I suggest that if you want to do Las Ramlas you take the touristic bus to City Centrel on the red line. It leaves you off at the top of Las Ramlas and makes for an easy walk down the street. At the bottom you can catch the bus again and go elsewhere. The hotel sits kind of off to the side of all the hustle and bustle making it nice and quite in the evening. I had read some reviews about noise from incoming ships before I booked my stay. I was a little concerned. But, we did not have any problems. In fact a cruise ship had pulled into port late one night or early morning and we never heard it. There are large safes in each Read more

If you are seeking a modern style hotel that includes rooms without drawers, a rock hard bed, limited services, and very average amenities this is for you. How this property got 5 stars is beyond me. "More than we expected."
Our cruise was delayed getting back to port so we had to stay 2 extra nights in Barcelona. Service was excelent from check-in to check-out. A beautiful hotel (check to view out form the roof at night). More than we expected.
"OUTSTANDING HOTEL"
Great location if you are getting off the cruise boat and had amazing views off our balcony! The room service was exceptional and the decor was very impressive!
"Outstanding Hotel"
Hotel is in a great location. Hotel staff went out off thier way to help us. Only complaint beds and pillows a little bit hard maybe thats a Europe thing. Would highly recommend.
"a modern oasis on the edge of a fabulous city"
Staff not proactively helpful;. The restaurant and room service is just ridiculesly expensive Pool is a nice break on a hot day after walking around. Good location to Metro. The cruise ships generate a lot of noise so keeping the window/doors open is a challenge unless you can sleep through it
"A bit of peace in a vibrant city"
Stayed in a suite for three days in August. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean with an excellent bathroom with shower and hydro-massage bath.. Cannot fault the service in the hotel. Not that we would usually choose to go to a city in August, but we had an opprtunity so took it. What is great about ths hotel is it is close to La Rambla etc, […] but it could be a million miles away when you are sitting on top of the rooftop terrace with plunge pool (wouldn't say it was big enough to describe as a swimming pool!) Pool side bar prices are as you would expect in a 5 star. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of choice, including your cooked breakfast, continental style to the cold meats, cheeses and sweet cakes. They pretty much cater for all tastes. This is a seriously relaxing hotel, but the most fantastic thing about our stay was the view from the Marina Suite. Daytime we watched the boats sail past, at nightime the view was even better. Our suite was on the west side of the hotel, overlooking the city from La Rambla to the Marina, with the hills in the distance. I would certainly ask for a room facing the city if you prefer a good view. One negative is that the port is just below and there are air conditioning units from the port building just below the rooms on the West side - we were on the third floor and they were quite noisy - so if you have the chance I'd ask for a room on a higher floor, especially if you are going for a suite.
