The Timbers - An All Suite Hotel - Denver

I booked this hotel last minute thinking it would be nice hotel that reflected the name "Timbers". Instead it was the feel of a 1.5 star. For much of the night people were running up and down the hall making noise. At breakfast there wasn't one other guest trying to "scam" additional free breakfasts for their friends. Not recommended!

Room was clean and spacious. Interior decor of the hotel was average. The location is right off the highway and the shuttle to the airport takes less than 15 minutes. The surrounding neighborhood offers nothing special. I would stay there again to overnight before a flight.

Super easy to find. Right off I-70. Older building but really pretty inside. Nice looking restaurant available in building but didn't get a chance to eat there. The hotel is great - it feels rather grand, despite feeling a little aged, for the amount you pay. But the walks can be long since the hotel is built in a way that is not make all rooms centrally accessible. The breakfast was actually a hot breakfast, where you could get eggs to order, waffles (DIY), mini muffins, fruit, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, […] sausage, cereals, milk, apple juice, and OJ. I'm sure there was coffee too I just didn't see it. The bed was super comfortable and the room felt clean, including the bedspread and sheets, which is super important. The room was quite spacious with high ceilings, so you can never go wrong there! The only drawback was that they only have one airport shuttle. So we had to wait about 45 minutes for another shuttle to come get us since the shuttle had just left the airport when we called. The hotel isn't really that close to anything except the freeway, a Mexican restaurant, and a McDonald's. There's a gas station too right next door if you're renting a car and need to refuel that has pretty good rates. Would stay again if we had to get up and out for an AM flight out of Denver International. Read more

Staff was always cheerful and helpful. Suite was large and equiped with a kitchen (no stove). Good price. BUT - 4 lightbulbs missing, no batteries in the remotes, minimal or missing basic supplies (like soap). Outdoor courtyard for walking pets was quite dirty. I will never go back.

The place could use some updating. The place still has old tube TVs. The carpet needed vacuumed d the room smelled stale. The hotel was very quiet, however. Nice solid walls. I could hear a party going on in the next room while I was in the hallway, but not a peep when I was in the room.

It was horrible. They elevators looked like they had never been vaccumed. The front counter was very unprofessional. The bathroom door was extremely hard to open and close. It was a pocket door and if opened all the way it was impossible to get out of the wall. Several of the lights did not have covers and there was a electrical socket without a cover. […] The carpet was coming up. Which several "issues" shown in one picture. At breakfast at the attached peoria grill as we finished we looked up and on the wall was a old whisky barrel decoration and a roach crawled out. It was discusting. Didnt see any in our room but still washed everything when we got home. The description says Starbucks en-suite. The rooms had some coffee brand i have never heard of before. I question if the coffee at breakfast was Starbucks (only ate 1 time after roach we didnt go back). Seemed as if i was bothering the front desk person by checking out and she actually stepped away to get a muffin and then came back and ate it infront of me. Then the printer jammed. She asked if i really needed a recipet and I said yes. I believe the manager walked out at that time. After dropping the f-bomb she was able to get it to print. At check in and check out you could tell the staff lacks in management. I called expedia to try and check out early becasue we were so disappointed and with all the fees it would have cost the same as if we stayed so we did and slept with one eye open wacthing for roaches. the t.v. was very outdated. the phone was not functioning properly. had to go back to the main desk 3 times due to issues with the card not working for the door lock. no morning paper as stated on web site. breakfast was very good.

The two things that attracted us to this hotel the most were that it was an "All Suite Hotel," which is NOT true, and that they had free shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel. This was confirmed by an Expedia agent whom contacted the hotel during booking. The studio rooms are NOT suites, FYI. We had tried to arrange a shuttle to our New Years […] Party location since earlier in the day, and the front desk kept saying they would talk with the driver and get back with us. We asked several times throughout the day, with no availe! Finally, when we were ready to go, we were told that the shuttle driver had just left to the airport!! They knew that we wanted to leave around that time, and didn't bother to tell us that the shuttle was leaving to the airport, when our drop off location was on the way... right off the next exit ramp. Soo frusterating! WE had to take a taxi! Good news though, they did come and pick us up at 1:30 a.m. Hotel room suite was nice, bed very comfortable, nice back porch area, fully functional kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, disposal, diswasher, and table with 4 chairs. Kind of like a one bedroom apartment.Shower caulking had moldy spots in it, which I find disgusting! Coffee maker didn't work, but there was coffee in the lobby, and we did get a free hot breakfast voucher for the morning in the restaurant. This is a hotel that has a lot of potential - and is on the way to reaching it. It just isn't quite there yet... The staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby area is very visually pleasing and comfortable. I arrived just after a blizzard and walked in to a raging fire and understated holiday decor. The room was spacious and included a wonderful kitchen […] set-up. What I found lacking had to do with the attention to details. While there was a kitchen, there was no silverware. There was no welcoming booklet in the room, so figuring out the television channels, hotel services, etc., required my investigation and trial and error. The room, overall, was clean enough, but referencing details again, the bathroom needed to be deep cleaned. There were small mold spots on the shower curtain and in the corners of the shower. For me, baths and bedrooms need to be CLEAN and this just didn't meet my expectations. As an overall, the value was good, not great, and I look forward to coming back here as they continue to make this cute little place even better. Read more

I would say there is a big difference here between the night and day staff of the hotel. The night staff put us first in the wrong room (though to their credit it was corrected), and when I asked for an extra pillow and blanket at 8:30, I finally got a phone call from the from desk at 10:45 saying that housekeeping had locked them out of the linen storage […] room. I would say if you are looking for a comfortable night's sleep, don't even bother with the hideaway bed. The daytime staff, on the other hand, was impeccable- helpful, quick to respond even on a day with very bad weather, and extremely friendly. We stayed two nights 8 days apart. The first night was awesome, we got meal tickets for breakfast and it was one of the best continental breakfasts we have ever had. However when we came back 8 days later we did not get breakfast.The people coming out of the breakfast room said to us "I wouldn't go in there if I were you, that breakfast is toxic". All […] that was available was muffins (they were dried out and looked like the day befores muffins), and very little juice. There was a waffle iron and when I asked the front desk girl, she said "oh theres no batter today it will be available tomorrow" this was at 8am and the breakfast goes from 6-10. That doesn't help me considering I was only staying the one night. I would say the rooms were great and clean and comfortable. It's an older place (or looks like it's been there for a while) but totally updated and renovated. Beautiful lobby and good room. The only bad part about the room was the heater...cut on and off every few minutes trying to keep the same temp in the room -- a newer one would probably not make as much noise, either. I stayed there after a concert at National Western Complex in a room that fit 6 people. The space inside the room was GREAT, there was only one downfall - the walls were super thin. Thinner than paper thin. There were 8 people that I went with to the show, I stayed with 6 in a room and the other 2 stayed in a separate room down the hall. To express […] how thin the walls were: We were in room 204 and the 2 others were in room 209 (very far down the hall) ... They were able to hear us from their door when we were talking at a normal level. We even told the front desk that we would be up in the late hours and they told us that was fine, but I guess it wasn't.
