I understand that Hotels must have times for reconstruction, however, it was a nightmare. I was in the room for two days only and had to vacate. The smell of smoke and PVC glue was so horrible on my floor that I had a headache the entire trip. I believe the construction crew was either staying on the same floor as myself OR was working on that floor, […] as the noise was constant and doors slamming, whistling to each other and moving equipment up and down the hall was non stop. Trying to move carpet into the hotel on a forklift honking to be let in the hotel right below my window was also not very pleasant. I had to "check out" the blow dryer for use. The blow dryer apparently is supposed to be placed on the wall, as I had to use it attached to the dangling box it's supposed to be supported onto the wall with. Not fun either. It was dirty, and trash everywhere along with boxed furniture, etc. alongside the front lobby halls. Not a good experience at all. Read more

The bathroom had clearly not been cleaned for some time...awful. The hotel was undergoing renovations at time so it was loud, and obvious contruction debris and machinery made the stay uncomfortable, and the fact the hotel was under renovation was not disclosed on the website.

I was very unhappy with the hotel everysingle day. I wish that the could seperate the smokers from the non smokers bc this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed so far in my life. I dont know how hard it would be to put the smokers on the 3rd floor and keep all the non smokers on the 1st. Nice area. The hotel was out dated and had no room service. They have a lot of rif raft staying there and there was. Major fight with police and the fbi. Would not recommend this hotel. Also the desk person during the day was rude and not helpful.

Was very unhappy with this hotel. I booked a king bed smoking room 3 weeks in advance. I got two confirmation emails confirming I was getting what I requested. When I got there, they gave me a non smoking room which had a queen size bed. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they offered no explanations other then the 2 smoking rooms […] were already taken (even though no one else had checked in for the day before me), and that they don't promise any room preferences.. There was construction being done on the hotel so that was a not so great thing in the middle of the night trying to figure out how to get in. We were driving through Mass and needed somewhere to stay. It's nice that it has a little kitchen, but it was no frills. Nothing other than two little soaps (which is fine, but it is what it is). I was extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. There was a horrible odor throughout the hotel, especially on the first floor. I was on the third floor and the odor was slightly more tolerable but the room was filthy! There was built up greasy grime on the hood of the cooktop. THE HOTEL WAS OBVIOUSLY UNDER RENOVATION, BUT OUR ROOM WAS DISCUSTING! IT REAKED OF CIGARETTS. WE WERE GIVEN AN ODOR SPRAY BUT IT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. I WOKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH CIGARETTE TASET IN MY MOUTH. MY SON AND I SMELT LIKE CIGARETTS THE NEXT MORNING. MY SONS FATHER COULDN'T EVEN STAND IT AND HE SMOKES!!! WE HAD TO EAT OUT TO AVOID […] THE SMELL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND THEN CHECK OUT EARLY IN THE MORNING BECAUSE WE COULDN'T HANG OUT THERE UNTIL CHECK OUT TIME. THE WINDOWS HAD PLASTIC COVERING THEM WITH HOLES TORN IN THEM. THE SCREEN ALSO HAD A HOLE IN THEM. SOMEONE BEFORE US OBVIOUSLY WAS TRYING TO GET SOME CLEAN AIR IN THERE. THE SMOKE SMELL WAS SO BAD THAT YOU COULD SMELL IT RIGHT WHEN YOU STEPPED OUT OF THE ELEVATOR, SO IT WASN'T JUST IN OUR ROOM. IT JUST LEFT US FEELING DIRTY IN THE MORNING WHEN WE WOKE UP. The first room they gave us needed to be exchanged because the air conditioning did not work. The next room had the worst mattress we have ever slept on in a hotel. We had no housekeeping without extra charges because we weren't staying seven days. We wont be staying at this line of hotels again.

The door to the closet was off the hinges and wedged so that it might fall. Beds were very hard and the pillows just as bad. No hair dryer in the room. Neighborhood consists of a bank and gas stations -- so scenic (not!). Would stay at other places at a cheaper price.

I have to express my total dissatisfaction with our stay at Homestead Suite In Marlboro Mass. Awaken by a call from my daughter (the third adult), stating there she had been knocking on the door and ring the bell for over an hour but there was no one at the desk, had to go open the door. At this time the baby was also awaken and could not get back […] to sleep, so my daughter toke him outside and brought him for a ride in the car (this usually gets him to sleep). On the way out she noticed that the main door was locked again so she left it ajar, but upon returning it was locked and again there was no one at the desk. I was now 2:00AM and she decide not to wake us again because the reason we got this hotel room in the first place was because we wanted some rest since my wife's mom passed and we needed to be at the service rested in the AM. So he finally open the door for her at 3:00AM. Needless to said, our plan to get some rest by not to stay at the in laws or drive two hour from our house turn out to be a disaster. Read more

We have had multiple less than acceptable experiences with this hotel but the last one is by far at the top of this list. We do events down the street at the NESC and out of necessitie have had to get rooms for our employees at the last minute. This has left us with the homestead being the only one close enough to drive and after this experience we […] will make the 20-30 min. Drive from a better hotel. When we checked in there seemed to be no issue but when trying I get in bed we realized that the sleeper sofa was still full of baby toys and food from a previous guest, we chose to ignore this because it was 12am and we had to get up at 5am for work again but half way through the night while we slept the bed collapsed on 3 sides. We contacted the front desk and while speaking with the night rep he shrugged his shoulders and said he would have to take care of it in the morning. This is not how you treat customers. Although I often stay in "Extended Stay" hotels, I've never met one where daily room service (including, at a minimum, making the bed and taking out the trash) is an upcharge... it is at the Homestead Boston Marlborough. The bed was about as comfortable as a marble slab. The walls picked up unwanted sounds from both other rooms and the outside world. […] The air conditioning unit in the room was woefully inadequate, and the condenser froze in the middle of the night, resulting in an uncomfortable room temperature in the upper 70's. The price and the accommodations were fine. There were two issues: 1. The distance from my desired location was advertised as 23 miles. It turned out to be 33 miles! 2. We reserved a non-smoking room. It turned out to smell heavily of cigarettes (or perhaps something else equally bad).
