"Room was cold!"
This hotel does not allow you to adjust the temperature in the room. Parking is $20 a day. You have to walk over to a separate building to check in. One of the elevators would not open on my floor fortunately it took me to the ground level and I could get out. Will not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The petite suite is quite "petite" but that is the worst thing I can tell you. The location is the center of Hollywood Beach. The ocean here is the most gorgeous color. Bad: => The pictures in the webpage are the renewed rooms, which are very nice. Non renewed rooms are tiny and a nightmare with cockroaches, non functioning pipes and uncomfortable mattress. => Entrance of the hotel is very old and sort of a sad abandoned shopping center with empty shops => Part of the hotel works as condominiums, so you can have a […] dog next-door barking all night (walls are so thin & feels in your room!) => There are extra fees such as a $10/day for internet, local phone calls (?) and swimming pool but you can't opt out. Parking is extra as well => Explanations on how things work are not very clear even after asking: - Airport shuttle runs on the hour. I never complain and usually am easy to please. Where to start with this place. First way expensive for the quality of place. The kitchen didnt have a coffee maker or dishes. Not sure the point of the kitchen then. Next. The lobby is away from the hotel entrance. After you check you walk down this small path to the hotel part. The restaurant was gross, slow, food was cold, service was bare, and they charged us more then the menu for our food. When we questioned them they said we were wrong, we added it up and showed them and we were still wrong, we was going to pay only the amount due and leave they threatened to call the cops and chased us down. Breakfast was at the same place and that was a joke. I have seen many free breakfasts but none as bad as this none. There was no syrup for the waffles. The milk was expired and there was no butter for the toast. One day of that was enough. Next. There were no towels for the pool. Next the mall was empty dingy and almost looked like a scene from a horror movie. Next the maids to clean our room didnt show up till 6 we told them to not clean it but we want more towels and they said they only change the towels every other day. What the heck. Don't believe what you read! Besides the price, I chose this hotel because it offered shuttle service to the cruise port and airport. When I called for a shuttle from the cruise port, I was informed that they could not pick-up there. When I asked for a shuttle to the airport to make a 7:30 am flight, I found that the earliest shuttle was at 7:00. "Great for wanting a place to keep stuff while busy"
My stay at this hotel was purely about location. In its day it WAS a beautiful hotel and it appeared they were working on renovation, maybe when it's is complete it will be beautiful again. "If you like it old and worn out."
The hotel was grand in 1926 when it was built. Now, it needs a lot of work. The lobby is re-furbed. Walk past the lobby and you go into a vast deserted shopping area that was the place to be 30 years ago. Now its cracked tiles, filthy walls and floor, and there are two or three vendors trying to make a living. The 'free' breakfast is a joke. The room […] price doesn't include a service charge or parking. Add $25 to your daily rate. The city operated parking garage is a pathetic relic from the 'Good Times' when the "Oceanwalk" entertainment area thrived. The bathroom is no where close to 21st century standards. The bath enclosure had cracked walls, missing tiles and the tub drain was clogged. Granted the kitchen does boast a real 'fridge and a gas stove. Housekeeping forgot us one day, and we had to flag them down on the second day. No decaf coffee. There are no chairs in the room other than the two table chairs at the small kitchen table. The awning style windows are screwed shut, and they are unbelievably filthy. We had a view of the ocean which was nice. The pool area is nice and Hollywood Beach is, as always, very nice. "Two separate experiences"
We booked this hotel for the beginning and end of our stay as it was close to the airport and had a shuttle. We were told the shuttle ran until 11PM, this is apparently not true, as when we called close to 11 they said the shuttle stopped at 10:30. We also booked the 7AM shuttle for our trip out, and the person didn't show up until 7:30. The two rooms, […] although the same price, were completely different. One had a marbled shower, the other was just a tub. One had a futon, the other was a smaller room without one. The first one was quite a bit nicer than the 2nd, not sure how this is differentiated in booking. The hotel in general could use some updating, but overall it was a comfortable experience for the price point. I had reserved a NONsmoking room, was given a smoking room, they sent a nice person in to spray a deodorizer by the front door, that was it. no moving me. I was given towels for the pool, which you are required to return them not to the pool desk, but back to the front desk in different tower. "Great Getaway - Hotel Still Be Remodeled"
We both enjoyed our spacious Ocean View Suite. The bed was confortable, the room extra large and kitchen was fully stocked. The furniture was a little out-dated, but clean and confortable. The outside of the hotel is still be fixed/ remodled and needs some painting. We loved the location. The continental breakfast included bagels, toast, waffles, ect, […] but no meats or eggs. "In need of major renovation for hotel and staff"
This was a major disappointment given the location and history of the hotel. This is not an exclusive hotel but a condo that allows hotel guests but the staffs do not communitcate thus causing major confusion. The hotel is granted access to the pool but the resort fee only covers the flimsy towels provided for at checkin but the staff doesn't tell you […] this and the two locations are at opposite ends. the building and grounds are in need of major repair and the shopping mall lacks tenants. The continential breakfast is a complete joke - the worst I have ever seen. The rooms are clean and comfortable but tired and in desperate need of updating. The location is great and offers easy access to the beach and airport but that's about it. Why the community allowed the overpasses to be built infront of this property is a crime.There is history in your midst & it is dying a slow tragic death.Get rid of the overpass, bring 820 straight in with a drawbridge and put the fountain back.
