Bilmar Beach Resort - Treasure Island

Everything about this place was amazing...the rooms were incredible, the staff was extemely helpful and friendly, and the location was perfect. We were so impressed we stayed an extra night. EAT AT SLOPPY JOES...it is wonderful!

The hotel room was clean/nice but I was surprised to get awoken by a bang on the door at 8:30am from housekeeping asking if I wanted the room clean. Of course I wanted it cleaned, just not so early.

Overall, quite good. The hotel is a little long in the tooth, but it s a great price for being right on the beach. I would only alert those thinking of staying here of two things, neither of which are deal breakers. I was here for business, so internet access was a must and the instructions in the room have not been updated. I called the number listed […] in the instructions, and they said they no longer take care of the Bilmar Access. When I called the front desk, they helped me get on. Also, I stayed on a Thursday night and needed to get some sleep for my meeting the next day. Unfortunately, I could hear all the music and revelers all night. Maybe I am just jealous that I couldn't join them. The view is outstanding, though. Read more

Our 1st room was right above the bar and I didnt like it so they moved us with no problem and no wait which was nice considering we had already had a really long day before we got there. The 2nd room was on the 6th floor with a very nice view and really nice and clean the only problem was the next day the air quiet late that evening good thing it was […] cool out so we just opened the glass doors and let the cool breeze in. The next morning we called the front desk and in less than 5 minutes the service man was there to fix the problem. We went to breakfast and the unit was replaced by the time we got back. We had a wonderful time and felt safe. It was a beautiful view with tons of beach before the water. Food was great and staff was amazing. Especially the lady who check is in at 10 pm on 5-22-2013 I think her name started with a C. She was such a big help and you can tell she truly cared about the guest!

The room and view was beautiful. The kitchenet was very useful. Just wished we could of stayed longer. Vacations are just to short. The staff was excellent and very courteous. The food at the hotel restaurants was excellent. I look forward to staying again, just maybe longer.

We enjoyed our stay but could not find the "reception" that was noted on your website. Most of the beach resorts offer an evening hour of free beer & wine. I thought this would has been the reception....did i misunderstand....apparently. Kim at front was excellent...friendly smile all the time & gratious with her hospitality. Disappointed that Friday […] & Saturday nights we had to park in an overflow area down & across the road from the resort. Did not sleep well knowing our car was not on the Bilmar property where it was more protected, but on an empty lot near a local bar that was packed with loud people. Location is very good. The room was small, beds very uncomfortable. Mold around tub. bathroom very small. All in all we were very disappointed with our room. Will most likely not return nor recommend.

The family loved this hotel. Two nice clean swimming pools, great beach, warm Gulf waves. Two good restaurants with reasonable prices and a bar next to the pool. Convenience stores across the street, and a nearby Mickey D's for the kids. Will return to this hotel.

Weekend stays are a little congested and loud due to the fact there was a weddding on Friday and Saturday afternoon and the parties lasted until about 3AM with fire works.

We had a very nice stay at Bilmar - loved the proximity of the beach and loved the heated pool on site. Parking was confusing upon check in. Also - they had booked us in the wrong type of room - not what we reserved and paid for. Staff was great- very accommodating. We got a Gulf- Front Efficiency. The room was not as described in the description. It is a studio room with a kitchen along one of the walls. The ocean view was quite obstructed. The hotel itself is set back on the sand about a quarter mile from the ocean. The room is set back into a box so that there is a section […] of hotel directly to the right and a restaurant with loud music to the left. Also a loud lit up pool directly below our room. It didn't help that people are staring at you as they lay out on the chaises below. The hotel room was Comfortable and clean. However. the shower was warm at best and was cold after 5 minutes. The AC thermostat wasn't accurate, therefore it was never cool enough for us to sleep comfortably. Basically, the rooms are pretty, but have dated amenities. Stayed there over Spring break 2013 with my wife and two children, ages 11 and 14. The kids loved that the pool was heated. Location was an older community, but the hotel was maintained pretty well. Shops across the street and a nice walkway between the hotel and the beach. Overall, a decent beachfront hotel.

The hotel was well maintained and the staff friendly. It was located on a great gulf beach and there were restaurants in the hotel and near by but there were not as many stores and restaurants as on Clearwater Beach where we had stayed in previous years. There is however less hustle and bustle on Treasure Island during Spring Break.

the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is comfortable, we didn't have a view of the ocean but that wasn't a problem. Some of the corners in the bathrooms or around door frames have some built up dirt, occasional special attention by the staff to this would go a long way in making it feel totally clean. There was frequent entertainment […] in the hotel, the 2 restaurants were great, I loved the sliders on the appetizer menu at Sloppy Joe's. The hotel is technically on the beach but it's a long way out to the water. We spent more time on the terrace or around the pool as the weather was chilly and these areas kept us out of the wind. Parking for guest was terrible as there was 2 weddings going on. One rest was closed completly for the weddings. Had to go upstairs for ice. Water tasted terrible so we had to go purchase water. Very loud until 3 a.m. i guess due to weddings outside both doors and on floor above. We have stayed here before and loved it. The hotel was wonderful. Both pools were great, one being warmer than the other. It would have been better if the pools were to remain open until midnight so after a late dinner and walking the beach you can go for a midnight swim. Our flight home was cancelled and the hotel was able to accomodate our extra day stay, making it a stress free experience. […] Having a grocery store less than a block away and a walgreens accross the street was great too. Pretty average. Staff was friendly but we were low maintenance. Not a good place for peace and quiet, between being on busy street, dumpster emptying early morning, and installing trim on exterior(dentist drill x 5), we were up early and napping was not possible. Great location. Close to several restaurants - we enjoyed both restaurants in the hotel as well as Roxy's and GiGis nearby. A Walgreens and a Publix grocery are just across the street. It was still very helpful to rent a car, though, to drive up to Tampa or John's Pass or St Petersburg.

Deepest beach from hotel to shore--very nice! Minor beach construction at rear of hotel--installing some kind of walkway but still able to access beach. Parking fine--they reserved spots for hotel stay guests that were close to stairways, keeping event guests from taking all parking. Walking distance to all kinds of restaurants--inexpensive to expensive. […] Desk staff always friendly and helpful. Staff diligent in keeping all outdoor areas free of water and swept of sand. Very clean. One complaint: bar/restaurant across the street had outdoor entertainment with very loud music until wee hours of the morning. Florida-bright decor in the room, great little efficiency kitchen and super clean room. The amenities (85 degree pool, inexpensive food offerings) and right on the beach were absolutely wonderful. I would go again and stay longer!
