Flamingo Beach Resort - Philipsburg

I had a wonderful stay at the Flamingo Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It is close to many of the night clubs and night life.

I always stay here because there are tons of restaurants in walking distance a gym and casino, two stores for groceries. The views are great if you face the ocean. Beach is not as nice as I expected. Hotel staff is helpful, good security. Restaurant on site (not part of hotel) is way overpriced. Note: you are renting a timeshare. Not a bad place, but I wouldn't come back either.

We loved the Flamingo Beach Resort! The location was excellent. It is between Philipsburg and Marigot. Also we felt very safe on the premises. It was a quick walk to the market or deli. Live music close by!! The restaurant on the premises was convenient and offered tasty food and a great view. All and all we were very pleased!

The location was OK, a few resteraunts and bars nearby. And it was right on the beach, which was nice, but the fact that I could not flush the toilet for over 24 hours and there was a terrible sewage odor coming from the shower drain. I would reccomend a different location.

The family and I have visited a fair number of Caribbean islands staying in varying types of accommodations (e.g. private residences, time shares, privately owned condos, hotels, etc.) and I would rate this lodging experience to be up near the top. On this particular trip, my wife and I popped down for an impromptu pre-holiday visit. Our room was clean […] and well accounted. The employees were very helpful and always outwardly friendly. Our view was great and access to provisions (restaurants, groceries) was excellent. My only negative would be having to deal with the time share marketing but I suppose that's to be expected in a time share property. We don't particularly care for time shares and don't own one because of the loss of flexibility and the economics of it but if I were to consider one, this one might be of interest. Read more

Checking in was so easy and pleasant. My suite was perfect with a large balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean and in Building 6, which is more quiet and private. The hotel is pretty good actually. Was a bit surprised for some reason. But great condition in the room and exclusive location away from it all. Two small draw backs, 1 of the restaurants cooking was not too good and parking sometimes require great driving skills where the parking spaces are so small and not much room to maneuver.

Over all the hotel was great, some of the trim arround the doors and windows are showing there age, a little rough. Door jams rusting and staining, the steel one's. We were in room 7446 and the bed was sagging pretty bad on the right side, but every thing else was great or like new. My family and I had a wonderful time at the resort. The kids were happy and we got to relax and enjoy the room. The only concern that I had was the fact that there were too many rules regarding the pool. I even caught an employee telling a 5 yr old that he wasn't allowed to have a floating mattress, which was upsetting. Its a10 minute drive to Phillipsburg, lots of restaurants close by and a really nice uncrowded private beach that is not too rocky as most of the shoreline in the area is. In the room, on a sheet of paper by a desk with a list of other things they tell you not to put any paper in the toilet at all. Ewwww! Saw the list a little late and clogged it. They should make you aware with a sign over the toilet. Also we were awakened by someone smoking either outiside or in an adjacent room. It came through the airvents strong enough to wake us both up. Thankfully that only happened once. We checked out some other places in the area and really thought this was the best. We enjoyed staying here! We were able to walk to different restaurants & the local grocery store/deli to grab stuff for breakfast & lunch. We also enjoyed the convenience of the resort restaurant/bar. All of the staff was very kind & helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We used this hotel for 1 night coming from Anguilla, as we had an early flight the next morning out of St. Martin. This is advertised as a 3 star hotel, however it felt more like a old motel upon entering. What struck us most was the room's dirty condition, the shower curtain has not been changed in ages as it had mold all over it. The same goes for […] the curtain inside the room. Under the beds and other furniture objects was a lot of dust and other debris. Upon check-out the next morning at 6 am I was asked about the 4 beach towels and that I had to pay for them if not returned immediately. I told the front desk they were in our room, which apparantly was not good enough, if I wanted to avoid being charged, so I had to run upstairs to the room again to return them in person at the front desk... In all we were very disappointed by our stay at this hotel, as I believe regardless of which class of hotel, any room should be expected to be clean and mold free! To top it all we read afterwards in the given hotel papers that 'house cleaning' would be done ONLY once a week! Read more

Our stay at the hotel was very good. The facilities were quite adequate. Our room had a slight problem with condensation from the aircondition in the room below. That was a bit uncomfortable. Other than that I found the staff very helpful and friendly. It was a total relaxing experience.

This is a timeshare based facility so the rooms are apartment style. They were pleasantly appointed. It's on the beach and has a beautiful pool with two outdoor bars. Only complaint is that wireless is only in the lobby areas.

We just returned from a 12 night stay and thought it was great. The property is smaller than resorts we usually stay at (like Cancun All-Inclusives) and we found it very refreshing. This is a time-share property but they do not hound you to come to their presentation. They ask once and if you say no, they don't bother you anymore. The rooms are HUGE […] as are the balconies. They have fully stocked kitchens with Cuisinart products. Please note that they do not have daily housekeeping service but you can exchange towels, get supplies etc anytime you want. They do a full room clean up about every three to four days. The two beaches are very nice with calm, calm water and great snorkeling. Do yourself a favor and rent a car. The island is extremely easy to get around on. We visited 10 of the 33 beaches and also took a day trip to Anguilla (Shoal Bay is not to be missed!!!!) WE WILL RETURN Read more
