"Convenient budget condo"
Couple blocks close to the beach about 3-5 minute walking distance. Close to diamond head and Honolulu zoo. Great location especially if on a budget. Condo has fully stocked kitchen with Landry room on site. Included in the daily $15 fee is daily newspaper and unlimited DVD rentals. Great place to stay overall.Genuine Expedia guest review
Since we did not stay that long in the hotel because we travelling outside most of our stay, I did not had the chance to look on the detail of the hotel. I would say the hotel is good overall. Very helpful that they have kitchen dishes. One problem though is the door of the bathroom does not lock.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not too bad."
Comfortable and in walking distance from everything. The bed was big,but not soft. It was pretty decent all in all. The mandatory extras charge would have been something I would have like to known about before check in. $15 extra daily was a shocker after I had already paid for everything. The parking was also displeasing. It was ridiculous having to […] be back by a certain time to make sure the car was okay in the garage. Should be free to hotel guests. The pool area was nice, the hotel layout is nice. DVD machine was great and all in all it was a very comfortable stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Waikiki beach stay"
It is an old hotel and furniture, curtains are worn out. But the location with kitchen is a good plus. Service also very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to Waikiki beach"
This hotel was nice. The room was smaller than we thought, but seemed up-to-date with new paint and nice furniture. The kitchen was well equipped, which is nice if travelling with children or if you like to eat in. The sixth floor pool deck also had a play area and bbq area, which was a nice feature. The best part is that this hotel is walking distance […] to the beach and zoo, and other Waikiki attractions.I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for."
All in all it was a pleasant hotel. I was trying to be frugal and that's exactly what we got. Wasn't the Marriott which is what we are used to but, for what we paid we can't complain. The place was out dated. Other then that it was clean and close to the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK for the low price, close to the beach"
Hotel is about one block from the beach. The hotel room is old, the bathroom is slow to drain the water down and the door can't even close and lock.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was very nice. Every time we called them for help, they responded right away. Hotel is in good location. One block from the beach and located near major city bus stop. Everything is OK except the carpet is worn.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice condo and closes to beach and stores."
When you enter the room, it has a smell of old carpet.Genuine Expedia guest review

This was our second stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond to any issues. Room was dated and somewhat worn but it was very clean! Very spacious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value for your money, but a mixed bag"
I visited Hawaii for a professional conference. In general, the stay was good, thouh not great. Here is my break down. CONS: 1) The hotel has been doing construction for the last year, and I was told it will continue for some time. Because of this, there were LOUD CONSRUCTION NOISES beginning at 8:00 a.m. most days, and lasting into the afteroon. It […] was the equivalent of someone using a power drill in the next room. If you want to sleep in during your vacation, call and ask if the hotel is still doing construction. If so, this is not the hotel for you. In addition, when we arrived, our balcony was roped off with warning signs, and so we asked to be moved to a different room, which the hotel agreed to promptly. PROS: 1) The new room was clean and ready to use. 2) The staff were courteous and the cleaning staff was flexible and willing come back later if their first visit was not convenient. 3) Extra beds were provided and ready to use upon our arrival. 4) Near the beach. All in all, good value for your money, but the construction noise was disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Nice stay at banyan with friendly staff, room is ok have almost everything you will need, only thing is the sofa bed is very uncomfortable and during our stay unfortunately the lanai was off limits due to construction, but overall not bad and its close to the beach but quite a walk if u like to shopGenuine Expedia guest review
"Family stay in Waikiki"
The location of the Aston Waikiki Banyan is excellent. The rooms all come with a kitchen--very useful for kids. The location is great--one block from the beach--and parking is relatively cheap, $15. While not as fancy as places like the Hilton Hawaiian Village--being on the east end of Waikiki and having a kitchen is great. We'll stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Aston Waikiki Banyon"
Overall it was a good experience. Hotel was within walking distance of the Zoo, Aquarium, beach and a multitude of restaurants and shops. Problems were $15 a day to park in the garage and there was a $15 a day resort fee. These are things I would rather they list in advance so you could plan for it in your budget. We originally looked at nicer hotels […] with better amenities but chose this one so we could almost double the days we stayed. There was also a $200 cleaning deposit charged at check in. It was just kind of a bummer to tie up $475 before we even hit the beach. The interior of the room was great. It was update with a full kitchen, as promised. Full size fridge, all utensils, pots, pans, and dinnerware. The only problem with the room was the AC was a window unit in the main living area. We had a separate bedroom that would get very little cooling even with the door open. Like I said overall a good experience. We accomplished most of our goals...saved a little on food with the kitchen and walk as much as possible. By the way the concierge service was awesome. Three of the activities we did included a bus that came to pick us up withing a block of the front door. We would stay here again no problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Looking for a room with a kitchen?"
This hotel was conveniently located close to the beach, zoo, and bus line, and just down the street from the Catholic Church. It had a small store in the lobby to buy groceries for cooking in the room. It had a nice pool deck for picnicking etc. The room was cool when we arrived, and when a grill over the microwave broke, it was fixed quickly. It was […] a little cozy for four of us including a 15 and10 year old, and the hotel doesn't have it's own shuttle from the airport, but overall we had a good stay. "Just barely ok"
The check in was great the person was very friendly. Our room was upgraded to a mountain view which was nice. The room was outdated and not very nice looking though. The sofa bed was broken and we had to prop up the head part by putting the sofa cushions underneath the frame. I was also disappointed that I had to wash dishes on vacation. I understand […] that this was a condo but we have stayed at other condos and they at least had dishwashers. Housekeeping did no kitchen cleaning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good budget hotel"
Our group was 2 adults, 1 kid, 1 teen. First time in HI. Pretty roomy and clean including the bathroom for an older hotel. We were on the 20th floor with city view, which was nice. Walking distance to the beach, stores, and restaurants. Has its own mini mart which saved is trips to the grocery store. Chika at the front desk provided us with exception […] customer service, but the other men working behind the counter were rude. They have a movie and video game kiosk that is free to guests, a decent-sized pool and 2 jacuzzi on rooftop with a nice playground for the kids....though old, the kids really enjoyed it. The also have nice BBQ area with propane grills but you have to pay $2 for not sure how long. I was told there's a steam room but did not check it out. This is a budget hotel that is family and kid friendly, but I don't recommend it for those with no kids. Lots of kids but no disturbing noises heard from our room. We had to put up with minor things which was worth it for us; toilet paper holder broke, shower in the tub leaking, old kitchen appliances. We saved money by taking advantage of the kitchenette and cooked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Okay hotel - outdated and recreation area crowded"
We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the beach, and the advertised kid-friendliness and plenty of activity options for our school-aged children. Though having a kitchen area was nice, the sleeper sofa mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable. The decor was outdated and the balcony furniture was rusty. We thought we would at least enjoy […] the recreation area with the pool, hot tub, tennis court, basketball area, but all were very crowded. The pool was about the size of ours at home and the hot tub was lined with people. So we thought we would let the kids watch a movie or play on the Playstation, but all the Playstation games that were appropriate for them were checked out as were more than 3/4 of the movies. The staff kindly gave me a card to use the other movie and games kiosk - again only golf Playstation game was available and the one kid movie that was available had a big scratch which prevented it from being read by the DVD player half way through the movie. No other copy of this movie was available, so we never got to see the end.. By this time, we were all so frustrated, we just went to bed. On the positive side, it was only a couple blocks from a wonderful part of the Waikiki Beach, which we did enjoy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A home away from home for the whole family"
It was great to have a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. I loved that we were walking distance to the beautiful Waikiki Beach, markets, and shopping. There was a pool, playground, and BBQ area that the entire family enjoyed.Genuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed our stay! It was one block to the beach and three blocks from the International Marketplace. We were "upgraded" to the 28th floor. I'm not sure how the rooms are between the 6th and 12th floors which is what we should have received in our 'standard' booking. We have read negative reviews on Trip Advisor and Hotels.com but I completely […] disagree. The kitchen had everything! (And I mean everything). Regular pots and pans along with Pyrex bowls, Pyrex baking pans, dish soap, dish towels, and a rice cooker! We utilized the grill ($2 in quarters for one hour. We only needed it for 30 minutes). The grills were clean and plentiful. Enough for many large groups to have a grill. The atmosphere on the deck was great for grilling and hanging out. We had maid service everyday. The lanai was small but perfect. It could fit two people at a patio table comfortably. The air conditioning was nice and cold. Overall, great place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Week at Waikiki"
Stay was good. Closet doors were broken. Kitchen was a plus no dishwasher though. Didn't like the resort fee charge daily you don't get your money's worth on that. They had free DVDs but they were almost all scratched Parking garage is a separate business and only takes cash and rates went up while they were there even after they had just gone up. good […] location and good place to stay if you plan on enjoying Oahu and not staying at your hotel room. Put do not disturb sign on the door so we would not be disturbed due to having a 2 yr old and a 10 month old and instead of knocking house keeping would call which was worse. Good experience but I don't think we would stay here again too many comparably priced hotels that are much nicer, more modern, with same or nicer amenities Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

While not right on the beach our room had a magnificent view of Diamond Head as well as the ocean. Only one block to the beach. Beds were comfy. Elevators tended to be a bit slow as one was out of order so only had 3 serving 37 floors. Close to stores and shops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great for family get away"
There were only 2 problems we had with the room . The bathroom wasn't designed for big men and the pull out sofa sleeper was broken. I had previously asked a rollaway bed and housekeeping had to bring up a 2nd rollaway as they were single beds. When the bed was delivered my son was advised that we wouldn't be charged for the 2nd bed but I was never […] advised about a cost for the 1st rollaway. I booked the hotel for my son's graduation from UH. The room was for him & his family to celebrate & enjoy Waikiki. They were disappointed with the soft sleeper (the cushions were torn and the queen sleeper was broken) The sofa could only fit 2 people sitting on it, so there's no way it's a queen sleeper (as listed in the guide) the 2 single rollaways were bigger than the sofa. "If you have kids its a good place to stay"
We choose this location because we have to children and this is a one bedroom compared to a hotel room for the same dollar amount. Overall kinda dated but the location and size of the room was worth it. The staff was nice. We used the pool and playground allot as well.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, but rooms are old"
When we arrived we got a very old room, which was not acceptable for us. It looked like a hotel room not changed since the 70s. After complaining we got a newer room in the other tower, which was ok. In general I would question the 3 star status of this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel is very good.Genuine Expedia guest review

Very disapointed with the hotel, when I checked in they din not bothered to tell me that the pool was closed for maintenance. The room was not very clean when we arrived. Dirt around the edges. The bathroom window was open, which made the room warm and muggy. "in need of serious renovations, beware of parking"
The first room we were given was super run down with stained and rippled carpet, sagging mattress, & holy curtains. We had to stay here for a few nights until they were able to switch us to one of the more updated rooms. The room was clean. Check in was one of the slowest, most painful processes with a long line & no manager in sight. When we finally […] did move to our new room, we were pleasantly surprised with updated granite & newer furnishings. We learned them that many of the rooms are actually condos & if the owner hasn't done any renovations, it could be left unchanged from what looked like the early 90s. The parking was one of the most archaic i have ever experienced. $12 a day was not unreasonable but you had to pay every day or if you stayed and did not pay for 24 hours from time stamp of your entry, they would charge you double. You could pay for one week, but no more than 1 day at a time, which was very inconvenient. The hotel refused to field complaints, stating they did not own the building and had no control of it. What a joke. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall great hotel in Waikiki"
A great hotel, nice location , close to the beach , the attractions such as Zoo and the Diamond Head (that's a bit if walking ). A quiter not so crowded part of Waikiki . Good amenities, complimentary newspaper is nice :) haven't really been to the recreation area, but who needs it when you have the ocean :) the only downside is that in some parts the […] hotel seems a bit old and tired, and possibly needs a renovation to add some fresh touch to it. The staff are great and helpful. There are on site supermarket and cafe as well. Oh and the lobby is very unusual, with all the historic photos and the fish swimming in the ponds! "Good, but rooms can vary"
Great location. Lobby to condo hotel is lovely, but may be misleading to your unit's condition. We switched rooms because the first unit was falling apart, but I need to give high marks to the hotel staff who handled it quickly, and very nicely. Taylor was very understanding & found us another room that was much better. Keep in mind that these units […] are individually owned and so some are kept up better than others. Space was pretty good for our family of four. Location is good, if you are looking for convenience to beach, restaurants, shopping. Waikiki is over-the-top busy with tour buses, so it's no longer the "surfer" beach culture from years past. I was disappointed in how much it's changed, but I haven't been there in 17 years and the development has been incredible -- Prada, Vuiton, all high end stores. Thank god Cheeseburger in Paradise is around the corner #for a reasonable priced meal!#. However, there are some great restaurants if you don't mind the prices -- Dukes was very good, and other national chains are along the main drag, too. My ratings reflect the schism between the condition of our first unit and the great customer service by staff. First unit was in poor condition. For second unit which we actually stayed in, it was very clean and in good condition, albeit rather out of date. We would stay here again, but I would request an updated unit in tower 1. Be sure to visit the farmer's/food market on Thurs from 4-8 in the Int'l Market -- the food is awesome! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Misleading, Bait and Switch, Old dirty hotel"
The pictures of the hotel on the website are not the actual rooms. Bait and switch. The king beds are 1970's twin beds pushed together. Old dirty flooring. The water was turned off all day one day which made it difficult to get ready for the night events we had planned. "No complaints - Perfect Stay"
This hotel is 1-1/2 blocks from the beach. The neighborhood is perfect if you are looking for action. There is so much to do all within walking distance. I know, I have blisters to prove it! I had a kitchen which helped to save money. The view was very nice. I was on the end of the building, Room 3014 - Tower II, so I could see Diamond Head and Waikiki […] Beach. It was a safe neighborhood and a little less crowded since it was on the end of all the hotels. You can walk to the Aquarium and the zoo. They have room service daily, but I put my "Do Not Disturb" sign out and they respected that. There is a surcharge of $10/day, but you get free DVD rental and wifi for that, also well worth it. They have a coffee shop with computers and printers, but I brought my own lap top, but I did use the printer. The lobby is an open air with a koi pond. The parking is $12/day but well worth it. You just have to remember what tower you're in and what level you parked on. There is a Catholic church at the end of the street. Starbucks a few blocks over, across from the zoo. Lots of places to shop and eat. I would stay here again. It would be nice to have a hotel right on the beach, but those hotels are in a very congested area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
