We arrived just before hotel staff left for the evening. The lady who greeted us was very pleasant and friendly and told us to come back in the morning to check in and receive our welcome packet. The condo was very spacious which was great for our lil one who is one yr old and is walking around. We felt safe for him to venture around as it was pretty […] baby safe. We were given the first floor which gave us access to the backyard grounds which was also great ! The condo's decor is pretty dated and needs upgrade. You do feel stuck in the '80s. The facilities are limited. There is a pool and hot tub. They said it was a heated pool however when we went in it was cold which was terrible for our baby. There was an outdoor BBQ area but we didn't use it. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. We did like that DVD rentals were included in the resort fee. The hotel is close to the other resorts (Hilton and marriot) and was close to the kings and queens shopping areas. All within walking distance. I would recommend this condo for families just realize that it is dated and some of the photos posted by past guests are true. Read more

We stayed at Aston Shores for almost two weeks for our February vacation. While the unit we stayed in was spacious the kitchen was poorly equipped and very dated. The lanai was large but no barbeque, my husband had to cart everything across the parking lot to where the barbeques were located. The furnishings needed updating.

I was looking for someplace quiet and relaxing, and this was just the place. It was nice to come back from a day of adventures to a spacious and comfortable apartment. The Lanai was great. The only thing that could have been better would have been keeping a few cooking essentials in the kitchen. When I have stayed at VRBO places, they usually have kept […] around things like oil, salt, and a few condiments. Very nice condo. Great if you want to cook your own meals and stay in a spacious home-like settings. Amenities are what you would expect in a resort of this kind (tennis courts, swimming pool, gym). There are two things of possible concern. Condos are right on the golf course, and players mostly suck. So every now and then a ball will land on your patio, […] which can be kind of scary if you are relaxing on it. Baths have are connected to bedrooms with no doors. Probably not an issue if you are a "liberal" family or even a nice feature if you are a young couple on a honeymoon :-), but if you are on a conservative side you may have an issue with it. Beach access is not so great, so you will need a car, though some very nice beaches (Hapuna, Mauna Koa, Manini'owali) are within a 15-minute drive distance. However, that's the case with almost all places on this side of the island (very few hotels have direct access to the beach). Read more

Our family stayed at Aston Shore from 6/17/2012 - 6/23/2012, we had a great time. The room was spacious, view was nice. Our kids had fun at the pool. The staff were really nice and polite. We would come back and stay at this hotel again.

The Shores is a gated community where Aston manages a number of units. I believe the units are all individually owned. We had a very nice spacious two bedroom corner third floor unit looking down on a small artificial pond with a distant view of the ocean. The unit has a well equipped kitchen with marble countertops. The lanai was very large with table […] and chairs. The Shores is nice property with a pool and a reasonable equipped fitness center. There are several high end Weber BBQs throughout the property available for use. The Shores is right across the main road from the Hilton Waikoloa. If you walk across the street there is a wonderful shoreline access path that leads to a great walking/running path on the shoreline around the Hilton. The best beach in the area is Anaeho’omalu Bay (A-Bay) which has its own parking lot and is only a 3 minute drive away. The nearby Kings Shops and Queens Market place has great shopping and a selection of restaurants. The property was mostly very quiet. We arrived on a Tuesday and checked out the following Monday. We rarely saw other guests during the week but there were more guests around on the weekend. I suspect The Shores may be popular with local Hawaiians traveling from other islands on the weekends. The staff is very friendly offered advice about the best grocery stores in the area when we arrived. There is daily maid service in the rooms which I did not expect given the property is a condo. Quiet gated condominium community, just a short driving distance to several beautiful beaches, Hapuna beach and the beach at the Mauna Kea resort were great. Nice 2 bed, 2 bath unit. Tub/shower combo would not be good for someone unable to step in and out of a deep tub. (All units vary, however). Very peaceful with bbq grills conveniently located close […] to all units. Don't lose a key - a $75.00 charge per key will be charged. This is our second stay at the Aston Shores at Waikoloa, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Our two-bedroom/2bath condo was enormous, with great living space, lanai (we were on the ground floor), and functional kitchen. Get used to the idea that at least half of what you'll want to experience on the Big Island is at least 60-90 minute drive from anywhere - no matter where you stay. Our apartment #238 was pure. Bad creaked and was uncomfortable. Dishes lacked, one small pan and one small frying pan. All kitchen appliances were Jurassic period. We both deluxe one bedroom but we had the room as in a chip motel.

This part of the big island rarely gets rain, and this resort is situated perfectly to take advantage of this. I was at a conference in the Waikoloa Hilton across the street, so got the best of both worlds with the elaborate grounds and activities of the Hilton, with the privacy and huge space of this apartment. We had 2 beds, 2 baths, a kitchen, a […] giant living room, dining room, and a wrap around porch. You could really host a nice dinner here. These are individual condos, so the decor varies from unit to unit. Ours had some parts recently redone, like one of the bathrooms and part of the kitchen. The Waikoloa beach resort is self sufficient, so you never have to leave to fully enjoy your trip, but we had a rental car (free parking here!) and went all around to volcanos, waterfalls, Kailua-Kona boardwalk, and Hilo, and snorkeling in the Hilton's lagoon (turtles! so many fish in colors I didn't know existed, swim with dolphins!) We had a great time. There are some more recently built, more luxurious units in the neighborhood, but this place offers excellent value, with most of the same advantages. Let's face it, if you go to Hawaii, you don't want to spend all your time in the kitchen looking at the decor. If you go to Hawaii, make sure to stay on the sunny side of the island, as every time we went to the Hilo coast it was raining. But rent a car, because all the waterfalls, botanical gardens, and volcanos are on the rainy side (likely that's why there are waterfalls over there). Read more

Thanks God was just por 1 night, We needed one extra night in the Big Isladn, and because de Ironman was taken place in that weekend, We culd not find any other place, but this is dirty, smelly, furniture super old, tvs. from the 80's, lanay furniture very dirty, if You want to use it You need to use towels, not big towels to use in the bathroom, kitchen […] need to be upgraded, broken blinds in bedroom, so You could not get dressed in, have to use bathroom. Suiming pool my husband said look like a duck pond. Sorry, but we were staying at the Hilton Bayclub Waicoloa Village. So You could see the diference. This place realy need to be fixed. Read more

We have visited the Big Island 4 times, the last two staying at the Aston Shores. The units are spacious with large lanai's and we enjoy the climate better than in Kona-Kailua where humidity seems to grow with the day. It is close to excellent swimming and snorkeling and just a short drive if you want to do some other shopping along Ali'i Drive.

The Aston Waikaloa Shores is a real gem... much nicer than condos i have stayed at along Alii drive in Kona. It is clean, up-to-date, and everything is well maintained. It's a quiet location with beautiful lush landscaping amidst the lava fields. I especially liked the lanai and the convenient washer/dryer. For activities, one can walk to the Hilton […] Waikaloa and tour the grounds or go to the local Queen's marketplace to rent bikes or pick up groceries. On the 1st night we found the mattress to be as hard as a rock. The next day I complained and they installed a 4" mattress pad that I believe was similar to memory foam and that worked well. They need to invest in a better quality mattress. The carpet had large stains that should be addressed. And the bathroom fixtures need updating. No major problems […] other than what I would call updating. They need to update the TV to a flat screen versus the old 25" tube type and install a 2nd TV in the bedroom. Beyond these items, all else was great. Great pool and jacuzzi that we had to ourselves most of the 2 weeks there. First time using a condo type hotel and it was very convenient having a washer and dryer in the room. Great lanai. Very quiet surroundings. The housekeeping service was great. All in all, for the cost it is a great deal. Very safe security fences complex with 4 diamond hotels surrounding Aston Shores. Buzz's Surf & Sand Grill right outside the security fence is a fantastic 5 star restaurant. Hotel registration desk was very nice and helpful. The resort is right in the centre of the Waikola beach resort and the grounds within Aston Shores are very well kept.; thats the good bit. The accommodation itself although had everything we needed was dated, looked from 1980s or early 1990s, coloured bathroom suites, flaking gold taps, old VHS player/recorder (although did have DVD recorder as well) […] old CRT TV, stained carpets, you get the picture. Whilst on the big island we stayed in three different locations all on the West coast; irrespective of price, this one was the worst; and it was the most expensive. no standardized level of quality for units. our first room was dingy and had stained carpets. when we asked for another room we were moved to a much brighter and cleaner unit. since these are 'private condo' units each there is no standard furnishing or level of cleanliness. suggest that operator set some type of standard quality and level of cleanliness […] etc in order for unit to be included in the 'rental pool'. over all location and grounds were very good. staff were very easy to deal with. difficult to locate entrance if arriving first time at night. Shores @ Waikoloa are condos, fully furnished including washing./drying machines. Clearing service was available every day if you required this. However, the garbage was removed each day. We did not experience any problems.

初めてのハワイ島＆コンドミニアム滞在でしたが、近くにショッピングモールがあり、まるで自宅にいるかのように、リラックスできる空間でした。コンシェルジュの方もとてもフレンドリーで、また次回も利用したいと思いました。まな板が無かったのと、包丁、ナイフの切れ味が悪かったのがマイナスでした。
