The location of this condo complex is bar none - close enough to downtown you can walk it in 10 minutes, yet enough distance to provide incredible 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and the city below. It is walking distance to The Plaza, the condos are comfortable (we always go for a premium unit), clean, well-maintained, and larger than hotel rooms. From the Expedia write-up, we expected something a lot more comfortable. We found a shabby condo that would be just wonderful for a family with a bunch of teenagers who didn't care about comfort. The furniture was from the 1980s. There wasn't a comfortable couch or chair in the place. The couches had very little padding and were far too low. The television […] had four remotes and none of them worked. We had to manually operate the TV and all channels were snowy. The "free" wifi didn't work. The rug in the bathroom was shag and the door got caught on it every time. Oddly, there were only three dining chairs. Who does that? The parking lot was way too small, so we had to park down the hill by the condo storage units and hike up. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Terrible buyers remorse! To top it off, about four hours after I booked the room Expedia offered an extra 1,000 points for late booking. We even missed that! This property was way overpriced, even with the Expedia discount. We have stayed at Fort Marcy numerous times in recent years; this most recent stay was disappointing. The unit-#26-was extremely outdated and missing simple amenities such as there were no hangers in closets or any hooks anywhere to hang coats/clothing. We have stayed there two times. Each time they gave us a unit with no working heater, during the winter in Santa Fe. Unable to get any help the first time until the next day, we were very cold, very. They don't seem to check on the status of anything, let the customer do the quality check. My wife said she didn't want to stay there anymore.

This is our third or fourth stay at Ft Marcy Suites. We love the proximity to the Plaza and downtown shopping, restaurants, and churches. A couple issues came up while we were there. Our stay was delightful. Even though our 3 bedroom was listed as "standard", it was nonetheless comfortable and suited the needs of six sisters perfectly. The staff was helpful, friendly, and quick to accommodate our every need. We wanted to try out the hot tub and pool, but usually didn't arrive back to Fort Marcy before the 7:00 PM cut-off time. The […] furnishings and linens were a bit tattered and worn, but the large living/dining area with fireplace, spacious bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and full kitchen provided the feeling of home. It would have been helpful if the shuttle ran in the evening since the only cab company available in Santa Fe was expensive and didn't offer transportation for six in one vehicle. The firewood we felt was priced a bit high, but snacks, soft drinks and other supplies purchased at the office were quite reasonable. There were several steps to and from the office, pool/hot tub, laundry and parking area, so this could present a challenge for someone who has trouble getting around. However, there may be more suitable accommodations elsewhere on the property. Fort Marcy is a great place to stay in Santa Fe. Read more

The hotel was overall a pleasing experience, although we were looking forward to a nice soak in the hot tub when we arrived and found out at check-in that the pool was closed due to remodeling. Very disappointing !! There were several things in our particular unit that could have been improved. There were price tags from clothes, etc. on the floor of […] the bedroom closet from previous guests. The "upgrades" made to the kitchen and the bathroom fixtures were very inconvenient. The water from the shower went all over the floor because the glass partition wasn't wide enough, and the shelf over the toilet wouldn't allow you to raise the toilet seat without holding it up #very unhandy for male guests#. The rugs in the bathroom should be replaced #very worn# or at least washed between guests. However, the space was comfortable and the kitchen was completely furnished with dishes and appliances. We just thought it was odd the way several of the cupboards wouldn't open due to the appliances being too big for the space. Definitely a "low grade" kitchen remodel. I had to cancel after expending one night, the plumbing makes a lot of noise if somebody is in the shower because is expose in the bedroom. We arrived at 9, it was very hard to find the place we need to go and get the key because there is no lobby, front desk or so. Our suite was located by the sidewalk and the parking lot so we were awaken early by the noise of people departing early. I would never come back or recommend it. The accomodations exceeded my expectations at all levels. **A big area of concern for me though was the service of the desk agent ** I have been charged double for my stay, through a mix up with the reservation I have been charged twice. Location great. Rooms neat, clean and tidy, but a little upgrading needed. Biggest disadvantage is the steep hill they are located on. The walk would be very difficult for older people, but they do have a shuttle.

This "hotel" is a condo development located on a steep bluff just north of the Plaza (approx. 5-10 minute walk). Each unit is owned separately, so conditions vary by owner. In our case, we stayed in the unit with the cheapest owner - #11. Everything was just off. The furniture looked like it had been purchased at at a garage sale. There was no maid […] service. There was no trash can in the kitchen. There was only one plastic chair on the porch. The parking lot was located below a long, steep stone staircase--an inconvenience to say the least and a serious barrier for older guests. At least the bed was relatively comfortable.
