Na Balam got some underserved poor scores. The location happened to be the best location on the island (as far as beaches go), and fairly convenient to excitement of down town. The grounds were spectacular, and for such a reasonable price. Front desk and beach bar staff were not amazing, but not bad either. They could do some training on customer service in order to make it a more magical experience, but all in all, it was acceptable service.

Fantastic deal for your money. The confirmation from hotels.com said that our room had ocean, pool and garden view.... it didn't. The view was just trees. We had booked a king size bed but got 2 queens instead so that was disappointing but over all a great place. Men need to bring long pants if you're planning on eating in the a'la cart restaurants. The buffets are great, a'la cart is ok.

I loved the hotel and the service is wonderful, however I was really disappointed in the beach. We had to travel to another Palace resort to swim in the ocean and take pictures. But that is my only complaint.
Location.
On the beach in Cancun (Cancun Hotel Zone), Solymar Cancun Beach Resort is close to El Rey Ruins, Playa Delfines, and Aquaworld. Wet n' Wild is also located near this all-inclusive hotel.
Hotel Features.
All-inclusive and room-only rates are available at this hotel. All-inclusive rates include meals and beverages at onsite restaurants. Charges may apply for dining at some restaurants, special dinners and dishes, some beverages, and other amenities.
Simply step outside to unwind on the hotel's beach. Solymar Cancun Beach Resort has an outdoor pool and a children's pool. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Dining options at this beach hotel include a restaurant and a poolside bar. Additional amenities at this Art Deco property include a concierge desk, gift shops/newsstands, and laundry facilities. Onsite parking is complimentary.
Guestrooms.

The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.

Solymar Hotel in Cancun has a 3 stars classification, however the service, hotel facilities, and rooms do not qualify for this rating. The rooms did not have hot water so shower were not pleasant. People in charge of the hotel are not honest about the hot water issue. I was told they had a pipe problem that was under repair. For what I noticed I never […] saw anybody working anywhere of the "hotel" repairing pipes. Many guests that came after me were told the same and after 12 days of being there the water was still cold. Do not pay for all inclusive the food is horrible and not worth it the money you pay. Most of the restaurants are far away from the hotel so you are forced to take a bus/taxi to find good food. There is a bar by the pool that offers some drinks, I had the worst margarita in the world, it was watery and the tequila was awful. The people attending the bar are rude and they think they are funny. Personnel at this hotel needs a lot of customer service training, I mean a lot. One day we were at the beach and one person from the bar decided to dress as a devil and go around the beach kicking the plastic chairs the guests were using. There is a volleyball net on the beach, but if you want to play you have to be lucky to get the ball from the bar, and if you get it you might have to play with the rude people from the bar. The lobby needs a lot of repair, there is a leather sofa that you would probably find on the streets for free. The telephones in the rooms did not work, and in order to make a local call you had to go to the lobby and the person on the counter had to dial for you and then transfer the call to a phone on the counter. One day we order a pizza for the kids, I gave the room number to the person in charge in the lobby, but when the pizza arrived this man told the pizza delivery he did not know the room number. "A little disappointing"
First room we checked into had a broken a/c unit & ants in the bathroom. We were switched to another room with less ants & a working a/c. Stayed for 3 nights & 3rd day they never cleaned the room. We had to ask for clean towels to shower the next morning before we checked out. Not a 3 star hotel. "I am sorry for the people working there"
We took the all inclusive, waiting to receive same quality of food and facilities as other hotels with similar rates in the area. This is far from them. The fact is that the people working there do their best they can, but as it is a time share that has been sold completely, the building and facilities have not been upgraded or maintained. "Hotel Solymar em Cancun"
Gente! Não recomendo este hotel para ninguém, a não ser que você vá passar o dia inteiro fora. Fechamos as diárias em all inclusive e quebramos a cara! O restaurante não tem um pingo de higiene. Copos de plástico e gordurosos, chapa podre, parece que nunca foi limpa, comidas sem sal, falta de talheres, o suco que te servem é água pura, vc não sente […] nem o gosto da fruta, o bar da piscina com apenas 3 garrafas de bebida. E sem falar que na recepção vc é recebido de cara com um sofá todo rasgado e sujo! Meu Deus o que era aquilo? Se minha hospedagem não estivesse paga, com certeza teria trocado de hotel. A sorte foi que passamos o dia inteiro fora e deixamos de fazer refeição no hotel. Este hotel com certeza esta se arrastando para sobreviver e só tem uma mega estrutura, mas o atendimento é péssimo! tuvimos que solicitar cambio en 2 oportunidades de habitaciòn . comida muy limitada . personal amable pero pobre presentaciòn y cuidado. hotel en general en deterioro . hasta las toallas tenìan hilachas de viejas. varias habitaciones no funcionantes. las fotos no corresponden a la realidad
