When arriving to the hotel we were told that the main office would be closing in a half hour. It would have been fine, but after a long flight we wanted to get food. The restaurant was closed, no one was available via phone, there was no one to help us. In the morning the office didn't open until around 8:30am, and it was just really hard to communicate […] with the staff. There were no shuttles to take us from the office to the hotel (which were far apart), we were placed in a room with one bed, when we requested two, it was just very disappointing. There were stains in the fridge, the room wasn't very clean, and we had no idea when or if the hotel staff would be by to clean. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put up either. It was just overall very uncomfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great time and experience!"
We stayed in room 157 and it was perfect! We loved the decor and the room overlooked the marina and ocean. The stay was very friendly and willing to help with anything. We had an amazing experience. The beach at Sapphire is one of the best on the island. It's simple and perfectGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant and not over done."
The hotel was a little run down but I picked the place because it was close to the beach, had a bar right there and close to Red hook and everything I wanted to do. If you are picky about every detail, and everything has to be perfect then this hotel is not for you. This hotel is for the real travelers, not snobs. I would defiantly go back again and […] recommend it to my friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I would definitely stay in Sapphire Village again."
Everything during my stay in a Sapphire Village Resort studio was perfect. Service was excellent. Every day housekeeper was cleaning my unit including washing dishes and making my bed. Towels and sheets were changed every other day. I was pleasantly surprised after reading a couple of negative reviews on line about this place. The resort has one restaurant […] (I am not sure if they are open for breakfast) but if you are on a budget or just prefer to make your own breakfast and enjoy it on your balcony with gorgeous ocean view just purchase some groceries in Tutu Park Mall Plaza Extra. If you don't rent a car one dollar "safari" bus will get you there in ten minutes (it makes stops by the resort). The open-air dollar "safari" buses are very reliable running during the day apx every fife minutes. If you prefer dining in restaurants get to Red Hook which is only two minutes from Sapphire (the "safari" will take you there) and you will find there many places to eat. The beach by the resort is beautiful although a bit rocky but you can find nice spots or just take a ferry from Red Hook to St John (fifteen minutes) and explore the most beautiful and real virgin beaches (my favor Honey Moon and Solomon Beach). I am glad and very satisfied that I chose Sapphire. Whenever I come back to St. Thomas I will definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a good night"
June 21. We stay there for one night. When we got there In our boat, we could not find the reservation desk. We called them and they said they would pick us up, But we had to ask multiple times where, in which place would they pick us up. We booked three rooms and they were supposed to have two double beds in each room. Instead the rooms are one double […] bed and a pullout. Because one of the double beds was broken they gave us one room in the F building, that is the building closest to the number to Maria. That room was nice the other two were not good. Overall the place looks like it's not being kept. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OK for one night"
I realize this hotel is in a harsh marine environment the upkeep was non-existent. The views from the balcony were beautiful, the pool was well kept, but everywhere else could have used some work. The interior of the room was fairly clean, but very dated. The bed was ancient and uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Use this hotel if you are on a budget"
Amazing beach! We also liked the restaurants located at this resort. Our room served it's purpose. It was a clean place to sleep and shower. Not really that comfortable though and the TV/VCR (VCR? Do we live in the dark ages?) was broken. I was disappointed that the hotel didn't offer free Wi-Fi services, you'd think that in this day and age they could […] provide free Wi-Fi services for their paying guests. The paying Wi-Fi didn't even reach our room, we had to hike down to the restaurant to use it. The hotel staff also isn't that helpful or friendly. In all, I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great place to stay to loose weight"
hotel experience was poor to say the least, no place to really eat, you just felt like you were staying in an somewhat run down apartment complex, the only positive about staying there was good location, beautiful beach, just make sure your room is on the beach, and not all the way to the back, otherwise its a hike to the beachGenuine Expedia guest review

My stay was great. Although it was too short. Could use a restaurant or convenience store at the location. Red hook is pretty close and has lots of restaurants so that evens it out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ok but others are better"
This was not the best choice. First off I was in the condos up on the hill and to walk to beach was a bit of a long haul. Little to no food on property. The room was ok the bed was very nice but the bathroom and kitchen really need a redo. After my week long sailing trip I stayed at the villas at Blue Beards castle It was less expensive and a much better […] hotel where as I would rate this a 1.5 to 2 star the other was a 5 The staff was very nice. "rough around the edges"
Stayed 2 nights at the end of our boat charter. The condo rooms had nice tropical decor and a large balcony, ours overlooked a marina. Though pretty, if you scratched the surface, there were issues that detract from this really being a good place to stay. We were a large party with multiple rooms and none of them had a working phone, so we had to use […] our cells to call each other or the front desk or had to walk the long distance back to the office. Each was told "oh you must be in one of the rooms with a broken phone" so this not a new issue, nor do I think a rare one. There's a small BBQ style eatery on property which was overrun by cruise ship folk, so I would avoid this property when ships are in if you don't want to hang out with loud drunk obnoxious swearing people ordering copious frozen drinks. There's nowhere else to get food unless you walk to the small Sapphire restaurant or pay a taxi to Red Hook. The staff was rather unhelpful, the exception was the bellman who tried hard to accommodate us, not that we asked for much. I never did find the laundry (which we really needed after a week on a boat) even after calling the desk on my cell twice and being told "it is on the lower level of your building"--it's not. Our friends had true beach front rooms and they had wonderful views. There are many other choices, you may pay more, but if you want decent service and care if things are in working order you may want to go elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Once beautiful hotel allowed to fall into ruin."
It looks like no one has done basic preventative maintenance at the hotel for a decade. The rooms are run-down and dated; the lobby/reception area is completely gutted and dilapidated. The bar and restaurant have been torn down, but nothing has been done to replace these amenities. Hotel guests are charged $7 to rent a beach chair. The only saving grace […] is that the beach is still beautiful and the hotel is located in a convenient area. Our stay was very disappointing, seeing as we used to live on-island and frequent this property on a weekly basis when it used to be well-maintained with lots of activities and amenities for guests and the community. "Sapphire Village- needs renovation"
I stayed at Sapphire Village about 12 years ago and remember a very nice resort. Now, however, it really needs attention. "Location made up for flaws..."
We stayed one night. Expedia doesn't provide maps or directions - but Google put this hotel on the other side of the island to where it actually is (!!) The hotel is on the East side. Very nice coastal location. There's two living areas, one waterfront and the other up on a hill where you can walk down to the beach. Be sure to book the correct one you […] want! Mosquitoes were a problem, bring something good with DEET. We kept the screens closed and killed about 8 of the biters in the room; thereafter - no problem inside the unit - but be aware these blood suckers come out at dusk... On the morning we left, power went out twice; phone was not operational at all during our stay - but we got 3G access on AT&T which mitigated the problem for us; no free WiFi access that we were able to locate. Price was not cheap (!) - but we did go in the peak of Spring Break... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The St Kitt's Building"
The grounds were nicely maintained, exceptionally quick taxi service, pool areas and restaurant fit the price. The condo room floor was gritty with 2 dead insects. The walls and entry door have obviously peeling paint. "Not as advertised"
Room was pretty well finished, with a small kitchen and nice tiles and granite countertops, but the maintenance was pretty sketchy. Grout was stained some tiles broken, and the toilet didn't flush. Overflowed once onto the marble tile floor. This was a condo studio, not a resort hotel room, no view and loud neighbors.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Beach & View"
The rooms could use some updating and refreshing (rooms are damp and appliances starting to rust) but was kept clean by housekeeping. If you are looking for a great beach experience you have found your place... literally right on the beach and you can hear the waves crashing from your rooms. Also, great proximity to Red Hook.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Sapphire Village Resort -condos"
My condo was dingy and run down. The screen door on the slider was broken and actully fell on me (the answer to the problem was not to use it). The tiles on the floor were all chipped and cracked, the fabric on the couch was ripped, the over head light did not work and was hanging by a thread (I had them take the glass off so that it would not fall […] on me), the screens were ripped......I could go on and on. Hated this hotel! Power went out at night. Most of their outlet were not working. All our groceries were spoiled because there were long periods of no electricity. The bathroom lights were not working, we had to take a shower in the dark. There were no restaurants nearby. I spoke to the receptionist about our concern, he told us that the reat of the […] island had no power. As maintenance they should have a generator. "What's with the parking?"
I had no real issues with the property itself. They jip you on towels and there is some electrical problem that causes part of the unit to lose power entirely. But I had a rental car while I was there and while they say parking is free, they aren't really prepared for guests with cars. I spent the entire 5 days there under a constant threat of having […] the car towed because apparently the folks renting the condos are completely unassociated with the condo association. Rather than issuing me some kind of parking pass to put on the dash, they kept telling me I needed to go to the condo office, which, because it was a holiday weekend, wasn't gonna open until after I was gone. What a weird deal, to offer parking and then to force your guests to have to sort it out themselves. I had to explain myself each time I drove past the security gate that I was a guest there and get a lecture about how I needed to get a parking pass. For the price and what you get - a great view, proximity to the beach - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. But I'd also suggest you resolve the parking issue before you leave the reservation desk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I had specifically requested a 2 queen size bed room and was assured of this after an hour on the phone with the hotels.com rep. The beach was run down with a bad stinky smell from the trash and algae. The sliding glass door barely opened...need a strong man to open due the busted track. Although St. Thomas is a beautiful island and the outside of the resort is nice, the actual hotel room and service was not good. We walked in to a dusty room with dirty sheets, stains and "stuff" on the walls and mirrors, and a TV & phone that did not work. We had friends that were also staying there that were in a different room and they had similar […] issues but they also had no hot water and bugs in the bathroom. When both of us mentioned our issues to the front desk they were none too helpful and had a laid back attitude and didn't seem to care about any of it. Our friends actually checked out and went to a different resort. We just sucked it up because we weren't planning on being in the room that much. To add to it, the reception area was moved to an actual hotel room and wasn't in the lobby, so was hard to find at first when we didn't know our way around. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"ok for the price"
we stayed at the studio rooms they are about a 5min walk from sapphire beach and reseption. The hotel is in renovation so they are using a room as the reception. The phone conection when calling the front desk was horrible. the beach is beautiful i would say its the best in st thomas because there are food stands and other sevices. this hotel is close […] to coki beach, red hook (for ferry to st thomas), coral world (must see), but about 30 min from down town charlotte amalie. The room itself was ok, the balcony sliding door was a hastle to open and the bed was hard, we had a queen size bed requested but got a king which was awsome. the sapphire marina located there has parasailing, snorkeling tours, sports fishing, or sailing trips. I would suggest to rent a car it would be cheaper because taxi rides are expencive (do keep in mind they drive on the opposite side), there is some open air taxi's that charge two dollars a person they only do a circle and go one way so its perfect to ride to red hook and downtown. i would actually stay at the windiham hotel because its an all inclusive resort. Everything is expencive in the island especially food. So an all inclusive would have been better. I enjoyed my stay and hope this review helps. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great location, it's a shame that it is not in better condition"
Sapphire Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. Such a shame that Sapphire Resort is not well maintained and has very limited facilities. Later in the week the front desk […] area was all boarded up. The front desk staff was very nice but the front desk was physically in bad shape. It is off season in June so staff is at a minimum, no restaurant on site which is a real bummer but […] since it is close to Red Hook and we had a car it was no biggie. "Sapphire Village is in desperate need if renovation"
Please, be careful when you book the room at Sapphire Village. Some condos are nice and others are not, depending who owns them. The property management company Antilles Resorts will put you in a dingy room without any sort of consideration, so if you don't like the room you should ask them for a different one, otherwise rent from the owner. We stayed […] in Barbados Building. Our room was in desperate need of repair and smelled like mold, the bathroom was small and the bathtub and the toilet was old and dirty. The frame on the bed was wobbly and it was inconvenient to sleep at night. The balcony was on the other hand was big and the view from the room was gourgeous. The Sapphire Village is on the hill, so you can see the Sapphire Beach from the balcony (this beach is the most beautiful on the island). "Elegant & Thrifty Beach Resort With Marina."
How wonderful to be so surprised! After shopping all the STT resorts online, I selected Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina. My room could easily have accomodated 4. From the main resort rooms one can step directly into the sand. I selected a studio, bargain price unit and faced directly into the marina, where my kids had moored their sailboat. Honestly, […] had I chosen a specific room in advance, this is the one I would have picked. The staff was friendly, polite & helpful. As with many Carribean resorts, this one would not be deemed perfect by stateside standards. There were stains on the tile where the refrigerator previosly leaked and the hurricane door had settled, so it didn't latch. It was easy for me to fix the door without enduring the frustration of going on a maintenance list. As with most resorts in that area of the world, the screens were compromised. Those were minor details for the incredible price I paid. The studio had a nice kitchen, sitting area, sliding doors to separate the bedroom area, large deck, good TV reception & was very clean. In addition, Red Hook nearby made the location perfect. The ferries to St. John run from that port and fun shopping & restaurants make Red Hook a great place to enjoy island life without the congestion and cruise ship tourist over population of Charlotte Amalie. I drove by many of the resorts I previously considered and it continued to validate my choice. I travel alot and recommend this place highly. Loved it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I found Sapphire Village when I was looking for a place to stay near Red Hook Ferry. While the room was nice and clean, I was most struck by the general lack of care or interest from the hotel staff about the arrival of a new guest. The woman who was working at the continental breakfast "station" was outright rude when I went tried to obtain breakfast. […] She said I needed a coupon which I didn't know about, nor was I given a coupon. It wasn't a huge deal, but added to my feeling of "unwelcome" while staying there.
