Crystal Cove Beach Resort by Antilles Resorts - St. Thomas

Condo was old and tired but clean with nice new towels, beach front location was nice but there wasn't any dining on premises, had to take a $10 one-way taxi ride to go 3/4 of a mile since there weren't any sidewalks on a dangerous road, it was not possible to walk to anything.

Bottom Line: My girlfriend & I hotel stay was TERRIBLE. Absolutely not what we expected and we will never break ground at this establishment on our future visits to St. Thomas again.

Location is wonderful. Great beach, snorkling, good room layout. Room dated, and needs upgrading. Limited food, no bar, no gift shop. Taxi always available, local bus stop at enterance to property. Do not stay here if you are looking for nightlife/entertainment on property.

we used the place as a 1 night stop over on the way to St. John nice place excelent beach close to Red Hook the staff was the best and the room was much larger than expected I would most definitly stay there again for a night or a week of fun and sun on St. Thomas

My nonsmoking room smelled like it had just been smoked in. The baseboards were falling off, bathroom was falling apart, sheets were stained, bugs, and the bed was definitely not memory foam. This Hotel consists of Condo Units. While the property is very well maintained, individual owners are responsible for their own units. While our unit was clean it was very tired. The cable had been turned off and rodents ate fruit off the kitchen counter until it was stored in the frig. The location was one of the best on the Island. We were looking for the cheapest hotel in Red Hook for a one night stay on our way to St. John. We arrived, got upgraded from the hotel to a beach front condo (score), but this is because the hotel is bankrupt and they only have a few condo units left. The staff was friendly and courteous, but we woke up to jack hammers and demo-ing above our room. […] The staff, while polite, could do nothing about it because they did not own those condos. I can not say enough about this place. It was convienent to everything. All of our excursions left out of the Marina, which we walked to. The room was great, decorated beautifully, very carribbean looking. We had an ocean view room which was right on the beach. We just walked out on the balcony and could see St. John, sunrises and the beautiful water. […] You could snorkel at the hotel. We actually paid for a snorkel excursion, and on the last day we were there we snorkled at the hotel, and it was 10 times better than the snorkel areas we paid for, and the hotel rented the snorkel equipment and it was free to snorkel, wish we had of snorkeled there everyday. There was more coral, and fish than the places we sailed to. The only draw back was that they service the rooms every other day, however if you needed extra towels, you just walked to the office and picked up more. We would go back and stay in the same place again and again. It was fabulous. We highly recommend it. I even told my husband when we were there, that I wasn't sure where the people stayed that gave it bad reviews, but it wasn't where we stayed. This hotel is the worst I have stayed in ever. This includes time I spent in backpackers in Zimbabwe. Don't ruin your time in St. Thomas by even considering this place. The rooms are a wreck, the facilities are non-existent the place is joke.

We loved the location. Our room was right on the beach with wonderful snorkeling just steps away. Beautiful water. Lovely pool, but the gazebo could use some simple maintenance. Room was dated and sliding doors were difficult to move due to salt corrosion. But it suited us just fine. The exterior is very run down. The room itself was full of stains: on the bathroom floor tiles, on the bathroom wall tiles, on the bathroom counter, on the toilet seat, on the sheets, on the kitchen counters, on the refrigerator, on the bedroom/sitting area floor. The refrigerator was rusted , the curtains raveled. The room SMELLED musty but was covered […] up by room spray. My husband and I wouldn't walk on the floors. Wouldn't sleep on our bellies because our face would be in the pillow and doubted it cleanliness. We left the island a day early because this hotel was really that bad. I was travelling alone to attend a friend's wedding held at a different resort. Size of my room was larger than expected which was a nice surprise. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and maid service provided on a daily basis. Perhaps it's not a good place for a 1st time single visitor. I discovered that my cab fair was significantly higher than […] my friends who travelled with their significant others. Although service desk was very friendly upon my arrival, the perspective changed when I was repeatedly asked if i was travelling alone or with my boyfriend. Well we were supposed to be booked into two rooms at the Crystal Cove and arrived to only have one room booked and they put us in at the Sapphire Resort in two rooms which is part of the property. The beach is great, the staff at the front desk checking in was not very responsive to having messed up the reservation that clearly had 2 rooms on their […] end on the confirmation. The resort itself was nice the water was warm and lots of stuff to see fish, turtles, rays, and coral. There is a small place to get breakfast and lunch right there and it is not far from places to go to eat. We rented a Jeep as we do when we go to St. Thomas. The beds were comfy and the room was good except the floors were dirty but we just kept our shoes on when we were in the room (flip flops). Overall I would go back again just wish I could have stayed where I reserved not sure if this will help somebody looking for a review of the Crystal Cove but it will give you a review of the resort part. The beach, weather and experience in general was fantastic. The hotel was nothing like I imagine. It has nothing to do with the pictures. We had huge studio with large guest room, bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Overall it was fine, but very primitive. No bar, no water, no normal TV, DVDs, any other entertainment.
