It was really unique. The room was a condo style so it was HUGE and really quite nice to have two bathrooms and multiple rooms and a full kitchen with utensils. The location was decent but not around main tourist areas like south beach. The hotel was under construction so, the outside was very unattractive. The outdoor pool and hottub on the 6th floor was kind of nice. Good looking workout center as well..

Arriving to the hotel was very pleasant, and checking in was smooth. This was for Ultra Music Festival, and we were informed our room wasn't quite cleaned yet (we were checking in early) but the front-desk clerk was very friendly and got us in within minutes after waiting. The room on the 20th floor had expansive, beautiful city views. The room was very clean and very modern which we loved, completely matched the pictures. We reserved a "deluxe" room; be aware that "standard" rooms do not have the updated appliances and décor. The only lacking accessories were dish detergent and laundry detergent which was a little disappointing. You can walk 10 minutes to Publix grocery store for food/supplies as your kitchen is fully stocked with pans/cooking utensils. The hotel itself was very safe, one night a Miami police officer was standing outside with hotel employees which was a nice assurance. The staff always welcomed us coming in and leaving the hotel, opening the doors for us and wishing us a fun time at the festival. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and genuine care of the staff. As mentioned from other attendees the WiFi is absent unfortunately, calling the front desk we were told the WiFi was down (as I expected) so Fortune House does fall short in some categories. The festival was about a 25-30 minute walk from the hotel which we researched beforehand and we were not concerned with that (it's Miami weather)! The hotel itself was fantastic!

Our stay was pleasant but the bed omg.... it is like you feel the every stitch of the metal in you back ... couldn't sleep at all the second night because of that......... However the room is clean and the view from the porch is amazing.

The location and staff were great, but the bed was mostly springs. The room was clean, but the floor was marred. OK for a short stay if you have something to do, but it is not a spa in any respect.

in financial district o we were close to Key Biscayne tennis. People mover nearby and easy to get around. Many restraunts within easy walking distance. Nice hotel- large bedrooms and 2 baths. Hotel has seen its better days and needs renovations though.

The hotel was located close to many activities and easy to find. It had great views of the bay and surrounding buildings from our 18th floor room. The room was very convenient with a full kitchen and the space was large. The beds were very uncomfortable and some of the furniture a little weary. No alarm clock in bedroom was a disappointment. But overall a very nice stay and I would book again at this hotel. The price was good for this level of hotel in Miami.

the hotel was walking distance to the people mover above ground and the trolley bus on street level all for free!!!. had a little trouble with the blinds,front door knob,ice and water despencer not working on refrigerater couldnt fix the frig but everything else was nice. oh yea they missed 2 days of wake up calls good thing i woke up on my own but it was still a very nice place to stay and large,

Rooms are really apartments, meaning they are much larger than normal hotel rooms. The decoration is more in line with apartments than a hotel room. I look for space, in particular a work area, so these rooms are great for me. But if you don't like the idea of an apartment as a hotel room, then this one is not for you.

I had a great time there with my friends in our 2 bedroom - next time we go to miami we will probably come back to the fortune since it was so close to the american airlines arena - plus they had drink specials all day downstairs and the food was great too.

Hotel staff was phenomenal, Especially Marisol, she was the front desk attendant and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place for weekend stays and so on. Since the rooms are like mini Apartments, you have a full Kitchen and living area. Can't wait to return.

Reserved a one bedroom city view and they gave us a two bedroom bay view, no up charge. Very nice room and amazing view. Clean and nice amenities. Would definitely stay again. Only thing there was only one guy working valet on a Sat night and he was overwhelmed.

I love this hotel. I stayed here with a group of friends. The rooms were big, very clean, and beautiful view. I really liked that the rooms we stayed in had 2 bathrooms. Only bad thing i can think of is that it is about 14 minutes away from oceandrive/beach and also have to pay to park :( ...... But other then that i would definitely recommend this hotel.

As someone who travels weekly for business, Fortune House was truly a hidden gem to find! Instead of a stuffy hotel room, you'll find yourself in a spacious condo. The kitchens have stainless steel appliances (there's a grocery store a few blocks away as well), complete with dishwashers & water filters. The units also have washer & dryers, and plenty of storage space. Fortune House also provides all of the amenities of a hotel (room service, restaurant on site, pool, gym, business center, etc.), so it really is the best of both worlds. You may miss it when you drive by, so look for the Four Seasons as that is right across the street.

We had a meeting in Brickell and staying at the Fortune House turned out to be considerable lesas expensive than staying in a hotel. This hotel is actually a number of condos rented by the individual owners. Our room was terrible. The decor had to be 20 years old and never updated. The mattress was the worst I have ever tried to sleep on. The service was a joke. We drove down with another couple. They took our luggage while we tried to find somewhere to eat in the hotel. Our friends luggage was brought to their room, ours was put in storage and we were told that there was no one available to get it for us. I would never stay there again!

Spacious condos-turned-hotel rooms in the heart of the financial district. Ten minutes drive from South Beach. The main issue was the building which is not very updated and the lack of wifi in my room. I called the front desk and they made it sound as if a technician would fix this problem but that sounded like a ploy. Occasional signal in the bathroom let me take care of important work matters. Wifi worked in the lobby/restaurant.

WORST service. Hotel beautiful. Location fantastic. Food excellent. Cleaning lady did not replace coffee. Asked front desk to have it replaced, no coffee. Finally got the coffee on second call in the morning. Responding to the lack of coffee the first day, housekeeping failed to replace the second day. To add injury to insult, the left our door open when they finished cleaning. If you choose to stay anyway, bring your keys (yes keys) to check out. They will not check you out if you leave your keys in the room (a common practice when other hotels had keys.)

I have stayed at Fortune House twice now and in general have been happy with the rooms themselves. Some rooms are a little more updated than others; our bathrooms this stay were not as nice as the fully granite ones from out last visit, but our living room furniture was much more comfortable and accommodating this stay than last year. I think the key to staying at fortune house is requesting a deluxe condo versus a regular one if you're looking for an updated unit. I am in Miami every February for a conference and for that purpose, business specifically, or even jut for a vacation I would highly recommend Fortune House for the fact that there is a stocked kitchen and in the two bedroom condos, also two bathrooms. With 5 of us staying in the room we were all able to get ready in the morning without a long line for the bathroom and we were able to save a ton of money on eating out by cooking breakfasts in our room. If you are someone coming to Miami to party on Southbeach I don't know that I'd choose Fortune House simply because it's about a $25 taxi ride from there to Southbeach. To give you an idea of the neighborhood, you get off the metro transit train at the financial district stop and that station is about a block from the hotel. There is a pocket of fun restaurants and bars right nearby (maybe 4 blocks walking) and it is about 2.5-3 miles walking from the American Airlines Arena and Bayside which we found perfect because we were able to wake up every morning and go for a walk or run along the bay (or around Brickell Key) and grab coffee befor our conference. Last year we even saw dolphins in the bay on our walk. Ok, now for the not so good stuff. First piece of advice...make sure, if you make the reservation through somewhere other than the hotel (like hotels.com for instance) that you put every single person's name on the reservation who will be staying in the room. These condo rentals give you more space than regular hotel rooms (& a kitchen!) My unit needed some maintenance, however (sink slow to drain, TV in bedroom not connected, weak Wifi reception, unit needed more decorating to feel like home) It really depends on owner of unit as we stayed previously in a different unit which was maintained better and felt like home. Don't forget about daily valet costs(but that may be standard in Miami).

I was in a pinch when I made my reservation at Fortune House. The reviews I had read varied widely, so I was a little concerned. I made sure to request an updates unit. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a courtious staff, and my room was spacious and clean. My room had a balcony, which was a nice bonus most hotels do not offer. Also a great location right next to the Conrad. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency on the same trip, and the Fortune House simply offered more for less.

Don't stay here. I booked this hotel because of the good reviews and relatively good room rate. After staying one night in this condotel I have learned a few things. Expedia won't refund your money even if both tv's in the living room and bedroom don't work or if the wifi doesn't work in the room or if the bed gets made up without a washable matress cover or if the ac unit is so loud that you have to shut it off to get some sleep. Of course I discovered all of this at 10:30pm in my underwear getting ready for bed the night b4 an important early morning meeting. When I called down to the front desk to report the problems there was no answer........I don't use expedia to book hotel rooms anymore and I will not stay at this "misfortune" condotel again.

The Staff was nice but the front desk system was SLOW. They put a $100 hold on your Credit Card, my guess is because they give you a key fob (used for the elevator) and physical key's to enter your room. The lobby/entry and Bar area were very nice but the room was another story. Once I walked in the door and saw the Mirror Wall behind the CRT Projection TV in the living area I knew there needed to be some updates. The King Sized bed was on a sheet of plywood, I could feel the springs through the mattress. The tiles in the bathroom were visibly cracked though still in place. There were no pant hangers in the closet, just plastic shirt hangers from walmart. the only benefit to this hotel was the location (being downtown) and the relative price compared to surrounding hotels.

We were promised a city view, but the view turned out to be a close-up of the high rise next to us and their parking garage. If we went out on the balcony we could see a little sliver of the city and the other way a sliver of the bay. The room turned out to be a suite, which was nice. The unit was not in great shape, though. For example, there were cracks between the door and the tile on the bathroom floor. All in all, I would rather we'd stayed in Miami Beach because we had to take a taxi there anyway because downtown is not very lively after hours.

While the hotel is a nice property the staff needs some serious training especially the "room service". I have booked this hotel for my parents for the NY eve and wanted to order them dinner and champagne for the special NY night. Sending amenities to somebody's room should be a very simple and straight forward process for anybody in hospitality industry. Not for the fortune house room service staff. The gentleman that answer the phone insisted that i need the room number to send amenities. When i told him that i am not a guest in the hotel and ordering for my parents that are staying there he simply hang up on me. Second call and a similar rude and uncalled aggressive response. At any given time i have kept the conversation pleasant and tried to find a solution. Maybe at Fortune House is customary to give away the room number to people that call in ... After another call to the front desk a very nice and helpful lady answered and explained me the room service is closed for the day ( 6 PM) and missed the chance to treat my parents with a nice dinner. Anyway the GM should schedule some serious training with the room service staff and remind them where the revenue in a hotel is coming from.

The hotel was a good deal but we found out we had to pay extra for parking we were only there for 2 nights and the "extra" expense ended up costing another $60. Should've just gone to a nice hotel probably would have ended up paying around the same. Service and the room were decent. They had some plumbing problems

Stephanie the night receptionist was wonderful. The rooms were spotless. The facilities were well maintained and easily accessible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Miami downtown area

Overall great experience - great rooms, good gym and pool - expensive parking and Valet parking though.

We were a little skeptical when booking this hotel but it turned out to be a great choice. A colleague and I were traveling on business and this was close to the port. We booked a 2 bedroom and it was a true 2 bed 2 bath with small living room and kitchen. The area is great and surrounded by very expensive hotels. You will have to pay for valet parking which is $25 a day I believe. We will stay here again next time we are in town.
