Hotel Ruby - Spokane

Not happy with the quality of this place at all. The bathroom was kind of gross. Very small room. Very little parking available for guests. And, though it's wonderful they allow dogs, they have absolutely no place for dogs to go potty. I asked at the lobby and they said there's no grassy area for about 3 blocks. I have an elderly dog who's not able […] to make it that far so we walked around the block and there's not even a weedy/dirt area for them to potty on and they were not happy about having to use asphalt/concrete. No table/counter space to speak of to set things on. Remodeled? Hmm... I saw what appeared to be freshish paint and maybe a couple newish fixtures. Other than that - ick! This place was gross. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at the hotel with the paintings and colors. The beds were so comfortable I was able to sleep well the first night. The location was wonderful for our activities. We will certainly make Hotel Ruby our home away from home while in Spokane. The rooms were very clean and the staff young and friendly. This was a cute hotel. I didn't have a chance to make it to the Sapphire Lounge but it looked like it was a fun place. This was a convenient location if you want to be close to things downtown. The onsite parking is very limited but the overflow lot is very very close down the street. The pictures of the hotel on line are quite different from what you actually get. Their parking is a joke, I spent a good two hours of mytime running from parking lot to parking lot looking for somewhere to park becuase their parking was full.

Great location....... but this use to be an old roadway inn...... and it feels like a roadway inn..... Staff was nice. Found mens under wear in our room on the floor, our room door was OPEN when we checked in, and it really REALLY felt like motel 6. Yes they did a remodel, yes they tried to make it nice and hip, but they REALLY should have done a complete […] remodel. Throwing up paint and wall paper is not a remodel. This is an old hotel with large rooms, limited electrical outlets,and a great location. Hotel is trying to become a boutique with some interesting decor and design elements. The Hotel Ruby is definitely an older motel, but it has been renovated and the room was very comfortable and clean. Overall very good.... Hotel is dated with updated ammenities, but the staff, location and Lounge more than make up for the above. Stayed here 2 nights and it was easy to access freeway and walk around the neighborhood at night.

Cool unique design...service very chill and friendly. Loved the changing colored sidewalk in front with the outdoor fireplace. Next time I'm back in Spokane I'm staying here. It's how all hotels should be.

This motel is a little rough around the edges as it is an older downtown motel that has been updated. However - the room we had was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The staff in the bar were fun and very knowledgeable. I would stay there again.

When we arrived they offered a complimentary glass of beer or wine in their lounge that had a really cool vibe. The room was up to date and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was decent too. We will definitely be staying there again!

Hi the hotel lists as boutique, but its not the kind of package I like to open.. Dismal quality and quantity of continental breakfast fare. The hotel is obviously an old re-do.. that is trying to look not so much like a roadside motel 6. It was a good deal with the plane fare.. but I don't think I would ever go back.

The Ruby has lovely art deco decor, and we loved the specialty drinks in the bar were great. However, when we arrived our room was VERY cold; I left my wool coat and neck scarf on for 2-3 hours before the room warmed up. Also, there was a loud party in one of the rooms until 3am.

If you want to save money this place is fine. If you are going to spend a lot of time in your room go for one of the other higher priced hotels downtown. If you just need a place to crash that is clean this will do.

I just stayed at Hotel Ruby for our friends 25th birthday. We got to rooms which accomodated 6 of us perfectly. The rooms were clean, and had everything we needed. The parking lot is locked at night to give you added security with being located downtown. It was easy to walk to RiverFront park for dinner, and then to walk to many nightlife destinations […] while still getting back to the room in under five minutes. The "hotel" is actually the old motel-style, is decorated in an artsy, shabby-chic style. Luckily for us, our room was set away from busy 1st avenue, and although trains continually run on a track a 1/2 block away from the back of the hotel, once in the room, we were not overly disturbed by the sound. The rooms really need some help. They still retain a serious Motel 6 feel to them and are tiny. While this place bills itself as a boutique hotel, they need to spend some serious money renovating the rooms. No coffee maker in the room:( Everything else...micro, fridge etc., but not a coffeemaker. The front desk said they don't provide them anymore, which is ok, except it is stlll listed on their website and if I knew they didn't have in-room coffee, I probably would have stayed somewhere else as I WANT my coffee immediately when I wake up.

They've done a good job updating what used to be a Roadway Inn I believe, and it's downtown near the Lusso and Davenport. The building itself was built to cheap motel standards though, so we found it a little noisy.

We spent a weekend in Spokane for a concert that was downtown and we really couldn't have asked for a better hotel. It has private gated parking, clean rooms, comfy beds, very friendly staff. An old hotel with a motel like feel. Other than being kitty-corner to the Davenport (world class hotel - went to conference there), didn't have much going for it. We hung out at the Davenport which helped make the stay more pleasant. Wouldn't stay there again.

This is an old motel that has been refurbished using a funky, eclectic style. It was a fun place to stay. However, the size of the rooms -- particularly those with two beds is small. So, it is best for just one night or longer if you really only plan on sleeping there.

Clean, well run, and central. Very good value. I was here for only half a night because I had to catch a train from Spokane to Portland, and the train departs at 2:45am. This hotel is close to the train station -- a few blocks or a $5 cab ride -- and not expensive. And staying here beat waiting around the train station waiting room for hours.
