Right next to Canyon Lodge where Summer Festival is held. Walking distance. Can't get better than that.Genuine Expedia guest review
Receptionist very friendly. Offered to help with our luggage and explained dinner menu and special prices. Dinner was excellent as was the complimentary breakfast the next morning.Genuine Expedia guest review

"The hotel is run-down, dated and dirty."
The hotel needs a face-lift. Flooring was stained, no air-conditioning, doorknobs falling off, and paper-thin walls. The television wasn't working properly and the overall experience was below average. We would not recommend this lodge to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fair place, fair price"
I don't believe any hotel unequipped with air conditioner until I have this one. But, I must say that it's a fair place to stay because I just spent $120 for one night when coming back from Yosemite.Genuine Expedia guest review
Basic lodging. Smallish room but clean. Thin walls and lots of families with kids roaming the halls. Probably best for a ski trip when you don't spend too much time in the room. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok - HB eggs, granola, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, coffee and juice. Not a great place, not a bad place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not good for hot weather, nice option for skiing."
Positives: The hotel is in a great location for skiing vacations and room I had was large and spacious. The staff is 100% positive, professional, and helpful. neutral: the hotel parking is all on a slant so during the snow season access to and from the car with baggage or skies may be precarious. The hotel has a main floor with the lobby and guest rooms […] which can be accessed only by climbing a flight of steps at the hotel's street level front side, an upper floor with guest rooms and a lower floor with restaurant and bar. There is no elevator. If you have limited mobility or are injured while skiing, you may not enjoy your stay. The guest rooms on the main floor open off of a narrow hallway and the doors are thin, but sturdy, with large gaps under the doors, so any noise from the lobby or other rooms is easily heard. We never heard any noise from the restaurant even though we were in the floor above it. The room had a single large bed, exactly as promised. The morning breakfast was adequate but not worth staying at the hotel for the food's sake. Negative: the rooms are not meant for use during warm weather because there is no ventilation. Even with the single window open there was no relief from the heat. Obviously no AC is installed since it would be unused most of the year. The room would have been, however, 100% more comfortable if it had even a ceiling fan to move some of the air around at night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant Hotel In Mammoth"
My family and I came to the hotel in the summer time, during their non-busy season. We were assigned to one of the condos there instead of a room in the actual hotel. The condos were a little ways down the road where we just drove up to the hotel and when we we arrived it was very nice. The room was spotless. Complementary WiFi. Full kitchen and plenty […] of space for a family of four...as long as the kids sleep in the living room. Overall a really nice stay and would definitely come back again. "need serious renovations !"
This hotel needs seriously 95% renovations. 3rd floor and no elevator... no air conditioner... A great restaurant and bar but in the basement, so 4 floors by steps: we all need sport but with kids and after a long day, sometimes an elevator helps.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice location, clean room"
The hotel was located next to one of mammoths main ski lodges and near the end of a mountain bike trail. Right up the street from where the bike shuttle picks you up in the village to head to the bike park. The room was comfortable and clean. Friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very clean and has that home feel to it but really thin walls.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mammoth Lakes, CA"
This was the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed in. The room was lovely with a beautiful fireplace. The views of the mountains was awesome. The food was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has main rooms located inside a lodge and basement rooms which are externally accessed. I received one of the basement rooms, likely b/c I booked on hotels.com. The room was incredibly stuffy (no a/c and daytime temps in the 80s), the walls were thin (I could hear folks next door talking - they were not speaking loudly), and the bed was springy […] (in a feel every spring way). On the positive side, the staff were nice and it is slope side. Overall, would be a good value at $60 a night. Definitely not worth the $115 I paid given other options in Mammoth Lakes. "Large space good for large groups"
Stayed ay st anton condo across the street from lodge. Condo was a little old and worn out, but it worked out great because it was clean and had everything we needed. We came as a group of four, but space was really big. I think it would easily fit a family of 6 adults and even more if travelling with kids. Breakfast included was warm and filling. They […] had hardboiled eggs, toast, coffee, tea, fruits, yoghurt, and their winner banana nut bread, which was delicious and home made. Not luxurious, but will recommend to those who are looking for value and good location. condo also came complete with cooking and dining utencils. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wrong hotel but good choice!"
Had intended to book the Alpen Hof, in the village but booked the Austria Hof by mistake. Had a very nice room with a fireplace and king size bed on the first floor. Not convenient for village strolling but just adjacent to the Canyon Lodge for skiing... I guess you could take the connecting gondola down from the lodge to the village. Good restaurant […] in the hotel and busy happy hour with a bar menu in the bar. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cannot beat this location... good food is a bonus"
Stayed there during a 5-night ski vacation. Location was fantastic for that, facing the slopes. I found most of the food in the restaurant surprisingly good (I was not a fan of the breakfast, Austrian fare and over-used fried rice though). Good service too, except perhaps for the wife/co-owner. A bit noisy perhaps, yes, but nothing major. Decor is basic, […] but fair. Cleanliness is better than many hotels I've been at. A 4-star hotel it is clearly not, but given the price, it's unbeatable in my opinion. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location to slopes"
I was pleasantly surprised by this lodge. I wasn't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews, but my stay was great. Free continental breakfast in the mornings. It wasn't much but fine-toast, yogurt, cereal, and baked goods. Location was great-right next to canyon lodge, so we just got up in the morning and walked to the slopes. The lodge also provides […] ski lockers to put your skis or boards in. I appreciated the housekeeping and hot tub. Only bummer was we had to pay extra for parking our 2nd car (~$20/night). We should have just parked our 2nd car at the airport or something where overnight parking is cheaper. Overall clean lodge and close to the slopes. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ski trip to Mammoth Mtn., CA"
Most of staff friendly. Clean room. Too much furniture in small room. Could use a night light to keep from stubbing toes. Bed almost too soft. Felt night staff was put out when we asked for ride back to airport - needed more time - but we were not told that earlier. Breakfast set-up always later than listed (30-40 minutes). Not so good for skiers who […] want to be out on slopes. Restaurant floors not cleaned up for morning - napkins and food under tables. Good morning food offered. Though the property was 'slope-side', and convenient to skiing, it had a bunk-house feel - a bit noisy. Food smells coming up from restaurant below. Weekend nights over-priced for an aging place but location good. If you do not have a car the local transportation can be spotty. No cleaerd sidewalks where there are any. The hotel is very comfortable and convenient for getting on the slopes with a minimum of hassle. Park the car and never have to drive for the whole stay. 100 yards from Canyon Lodge and Village Gondola. Too bad the complimentary breakfast isn't available earlier in the morning-- 8 o'clock is too late, not even coffee ready. Friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"With friends close to the slopes."
It was great! the location the staff, the room was small but confortable and clean. The breakfast didn't have many options but its free. I will comeback to this hotel for sure! The hot tub has the best view of the slopes.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Can't beat the proximity to the slopes"
We stayed at the 1 br Chamonix condo #49 that is rented by Austria Hof. We had stayed there before through a reservation service. We liked this better as the unit was renovated and having Austria Hof across the street meant we could get help, keys, etc. much more easily. Our biggest plus for this small condo is its close proximity to the slopes. At […] the end of the day, ski down to the edge of the Canyon Lodge parking lot, then it's a 5 minute walk home. My 12 year old came home by himself from skiing without a problem. Small but tasteful condo. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Retreat for Couples and Friends...no kids."
We accidentally booked this hotel instead of the Alpen Hof which is across the street from The Village and home to The Clock Tower Cellar and Petras- 2 of our favorite places. Therefore we were initially sad to be at the Astria- but not for long!!! The rooms are WAY better, very clean and spacious. The lodge is in walking distance to the lifts. "So - So...convenient to ski lifts"
I wish I had checked a little more closely on this property....my husband has a heart condition. There was no elevator to our third floor room...and it was a bit hard to get the luggage up the older, narrow stairs...so he was huffing a bit with the altitude at nearly 9000 feet....an elevator would have made a huge difference. The smells from the dining […] room wafted up through our vent and as pleasing as the soft music was...that came along with the smells....and lasted until closing...and then picked up again by about 5:30 AM the next morning. We had to pass on the Cont. Breakfast that was included in our fees as we were up and gone by 7:00 and it did not begin until 8:00 AM. It would have been lovely to at least had coffee available for the early travelers. The beds were comfortable but they really do need to fix those items that are broken...duck tape held the soap holder onto the tile wall in the shower....and the door to the deck was not going to open....peramently locked...so of no use to have a deck. Tub was clogged during showering. Setup only 2 sets of towels in a 4 person room. Had to ask for more. Lots of stairs to go up and down. No elevator. Will be hard especially for winter time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming hotel really uncomfortable"
The hotel was close to the Mammoth Village and to other amenties, the breakfast although minimal did offer a really tasty homemade banana loaf. The room was clean and larger than expected. Downside the bed was terribly uncomfortable, really old spring mattress has seen a lot of use, sagging in the middle. The noise in the small hotel also carries, we […] heard everything through the walls, toilets, showers, tv's and people talking. I would most likely not stay at the hotel again. "A Robust Fireplace Would Have Been Nice"
We stayed at this hotel for one night on a road trip stopover. It was a really cold day and night, and we were looking forward to the advertised fireplace in our room and a lodge like atmosphere. The Lodge part of the name is certainly oversold when it comes to ambiance of the room. This was a standard hotel room that someone threw a poor man's gas […] fireplace in - we even had problems starting it and someone had to come fix it. I also feel a "lodge" should have a more welcoming lobby with a fireplace and what not. This was more of a mountain side inn. Comfortable and probably suitable for someone who is going to spend the day skiing and just come to the room to sleep. Basic needs met - the description, not met - just a bit oversold. Again - very clean, comfortable hotel room, just not a lodge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price but older and not too convenient."
Rooms were clean and well cared for. Bathroom needs hooks for clothing, change of screen in faucet, sinks that have a plug of some kind. Continental breakfast okay, more protein than most (hard boiled eggs and yogurt). Blinds for door in window do not operate. No control for DVD player. No elevator so everyone climbs stairs (over and over again). Steep […] incline on only stairs to entry. We arrived after snowstorm. Parking lot has sharp incline and had not been plowed ~ very dangerous. Once plowed, still LOTS of ice and very dangerous. Staff pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Hotel was quiet (off-season), clean and a five minute drive to downtown. The receptionist was very helpful getting food micowaved for our two year old.. I'd stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Restaurant and Bar were closed for the season but no mention of that when I made the reservation. Was disapointed to find that out when I arrived. Should have been made aware of that prior.
