"Lane Hotel, Keene, NH"
This is a great hotel in the middle of a quaint, three block area of shops. The staff were very helpful with suggestions about nice boutiques and a wonderful local restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is very nice and the employees are very courteous. However, the cost is a little high Did enjoy the wine 'hour' though...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend Escape to see leaves"
We LOVED this hotel - very nice and cozy but a very classy environment. Perfect location and just overall great feel. Parking is nice - people were friendly and the room was just beautiful with the brick and the updated bathrooms. The only bummer was breakfast .... slightly lacking - no juice or anything just a few muffins and coffee. The book in the […] room said there would be some munchies in the evening too but there weren't. I know they don't really have a restaurant or food service there but it was just a little bit of a bummer. Overall the niceness of the hotel outweighs the breakfast bummer but maybe plan to walk 2 doors down to the Coffee Shop which was amazing! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel in centre of town"
The Lane hotel is an extremely nicely appointed hotel locacted right in the middle of town amongst all the activity, cafes, etc. The room was nicely appointed and the decor was very modern. In room Wifi was available. A nice touch was one free drink at a happy hour between 6 and 7pm. We experienced two negatives though, our room had a very noisy AC […] unit inside the room. It was so noisy that we requested a change of room which was readily agreed to. Unfortunatley the 2nd room was no better. The 2nd issue was an extremely poor breakfast. A continental breakfast was included in the room rate and as the rate was right up there we expected a proper breakfast. All we received was a small muffin and coffee. My suggestion is go elsewhere for breakfast. Otherwise a nice comfortable hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My standard room at The Lane had enough room for an entire family! fridge and microwave in room, kitchen table for four, large sitting area with tv, and another tv facing the bedroom area. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Staff was very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"An Un expected Surprise"

Stopped in this little town on our way somewhere else and discovered the most beautiful little town. When we pulled in we were charmed by the town, in the Gazebo in the center of town music was being played and people were walking around the square. We checked into The Lane Hotel and went to our beautiful rooms. They were well appointed with excellent linens and comfortable beds. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept. The free continental breakfast in the morning was great. Huge tasty muffins, fruit, and healthy cereal choices as well as other fresh juices and coffee. We would go back here to visit any opportunity that we will get.

The management has done an excellent job of refurbishing the rooms if ours was a typical example. It is an added perk to be able walk a block or two for a variety of tasty restaurant choices and less than a block for specialty coffee.

Hotel is neat, and has a k-cup machine but that's where it ends. I've been to this hotel many times over the last 3 years and they still cannot seem to fix the slamming doors. Instead they just prop them open now so any drunk can walk into the hotel and use the crapper and make as much noise as they want. Every room is different and you WILL be woken up by noise. either from street traffic out front, noise from the exposed ice machine in the hallway which can be heard on the ENTIRE 2nd floor, or the silly siren that sounds for minutes on end downtown every time a fire truck comes thru an intersection. the fire truck has it's own siren, no need to put one in the middle of town across the street from a hotel to let us know a fire truck will be coming thru the intersection in 5 minutes. The fireworks restaurant next door blasts their stereo well after 2am and can be heard in some of the rooms. the one and only elevator is the slowest in the world and is shared so you mind as well take the stairs. when you do take the stairs, don't get lost and find yourself in another part of the building. you will see tables and chairs and other misc items being store in the hallways. no worries, you are still in the lane hotel and you will come out in the front of the building or in the back by the smelly dumpster. I dont know which is worse, the smell of trash, or the employee that always sits on the curb smoking a cigarette. the attitude of the staff is sub-par. they act like it's a 4-star hotel and there's no fridge or microwave inside. room service is a grab bag of what they feel like changing. sometimes you will get clean sheets, sometimes you will get coffee. sometimes you won't even get a clean cup. and sometimes you don't get room service at all. this review will not be recommended i'm sure, but I can assure you that you will experience everything i'm talking about. if you are a party animal or picking up a local hooker from the 21 bar and grill then this place is for you. if you are on a business trip, have family or want a good nights sleep then goto the courtyard marriott on the next street over. the lane will take your money and barely give you a clean towel.

We were at The Lane with the rest of our family and a wedding party and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. Staff was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. AC was a little dated - but we like it on the cooler so that might be a personal preference issue. Parking is free with a pass on the deck in the back of the hotel. Definitely not your cookie cutter hotel. If you're looking for something special and unique, this would be the place. Would stay here again if I was in Keene.
"Adorable & Quaint Hotel!"

We had never been to New Hampshire & decided to check out The Lane Hotel because they are part of Stash Rewards that my husband uses for his business travel (Stash Hotel Rewards program helps great independent hotels fill more rooms, win more groups and meetings, and recognize loyal guests. Stash provides a chain-like rewards program, just without the chain.). Keene is a quaint little town with many shops & excellent restaurants all within walking distance. We had a large 2 story room, totally remodeled & up-to-date. The main floor had a spacious living area with a pull out couch, full bath, refrigerator & microwave & the upstairs loft had a very comfortable king bed & a 3/4 bath. Everything was provided for & there was a manager's welcome (happy hour) each night for a couple of hours. Overall it was just an adorable & comfy hotel & if you're in the area, I would highly recommend staying there! Katie & Tracy at the front desk/office were wonderful and gave us some interesting background on the place.

Better than Mary Poppins...she was only "practically" perfect. The Lane Hotel IS PERFECT in every way!! It's located on the main street of the most perfect street in the New England. There are amazing restaurants, lovely shops, and the most quaint town square. We have visited this town twice and I mark the days till we can go back. I want to live there. This hotel does it all right. We were there just before Christmas. The lobby is quaint. Its a combination check in, lounge and bar. The staff was decorating the lobby with the perfect skinny Christmas tree, presents and subtle touches to the bar stools that beckon you to their FREE happy hour. Happy hour was a chance to meet other guests and enjoy the holiday ambiance. Our room was immaculate and well decorated. We faced the main street and I was happy just sitting by the windows seeing the people move about below, deliveries being made to the shops and feeling torn about whether to just watch or get out and join the activity. We travel a lot and always with an eye for a perfect place top retire. To date, Keene is my number one choice!
""A Calming Place to Stay""

What a cute little town of Keene where you can have a restful stay. I don't know what they use to deodorize the room, but it is so soothing and relaxing. It is extremely clean and is located in the center of town. They have a Keurig in the room. From 6:00-7:00 pm is their happy hour, so if you go downstairs, they will give you a complimentary wine, beer, soda, water. Bring your own snacks! This is the same place where you also get a complimentary breakfast that is pretty healthy......muffins, juice, fruit, yogurt etc. The front desk is very helpful....ask them anything and they will follow through with your requests. The hotel is located in the center of town so you can shop, go to the public library, take a walk, and they even have a 2 story Hallmark store in town.If you show your room key to the restaurant next door, they take $5 off your restaurant bill! Right across from the hotel is a breakfast place called Timolene's. So if you need more protein for your breakfast, that's also a convenient place to go. If you are a AAA Auto Club member, just show them your card, and you will get a discount. They have free parking, and with that, you can use the back entrance. You do have to manage stairs in the parking lot as there are designated places for hotel patrons. Once in the hotel, they do have an elevator. I would definitely stay here again!
"Very cute boutique hotel"

Stayed here for one night while on a business trip and really enjoyed it! The hotel is very cute and is located in a small town with lots of shopping and restaurants (the place next door was really good!) They serve complimentary wine and beer for happy hour which was really nice. The rooms were really nice, really comfortable bed and bathroom was all upgraded. They offer a continental breakfast, and the lemon muffin was delicious! My only complaint was that the hallways seemed to have the air turned off and in late June they were pretty warm. But other than that small thing I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again!

I was originally supposed to stay at the Marriott next door but they were overbooked and sent me to The Lane Hotel. I'm very glad that I was sent to The Lane as it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a while. It was clean, modern, and the staff member I dealt with (Karen) was excellent.

the hotel was orginally a department store that was on multiple levels (old stores like Macy's etc. used to be like this) It was renovated and is now a small boutique hotel located in downtown Keene, NH (home of the Famous Pumkin Festival-was featured on HGTV and holds the title for most lighted carved pumkins in the Guiness book of records - just re-won the title in 2013!). Downtown Keene is a vibrant thriving downtown with plenty of restaurants and pubs along with a lot of small (and big -Kohls, Penney's, etc.) shops (including a chocolate shoppe, a cupcake/gelato/candy shop, etc.). Lane has some rooms that are two stories! All rooms are unique (some were originally office in the department store) so no two are alike. All are amazing. All are restful, have gorgeous bathrooms, and all the amenities you would expect from such a historical property. Try it, you won't be sorry.
