"Needs a Makeover STAT!"
The Red Lion staff was very kind. Even with the accommodating staff we could not overlook the poorly cared for hotel. We changed rooms multiple times! First because food & hair were stuck to the carpet & the bathroom was filthy. The second room smelled of cigarettes, mildew & soured milk . 3rd room we took over a few others offered, it was manageable […] but far from even a 2 star. As we walked through the hall I had to cover my face with my sweater because of the smell. Looking out the window to the outside corridor were bird droppings and feathers everywhere. This Red Lion is in desperate need of some elbow grease, CLEANING and scrubbing. My hope would be that they close parts off at intervals & completely renovate or at very least thoroughly clean . "Not great at all!"
There were many problems we encountered. The first one is we had 5 people...so we requested a rollaway bed, which was $10 per night. When we got there, the bed was $15 per night but they said it was only for their suites! It was a fire hazard for the 2 queen rooms. So I asked for a suite.....but all suites have 1 king bed. So 5 people was NEVER a possibility. […] We had to go buy a blow up mattress for our daughter. The second problem was the pool was murky and you could not see a foot in front of you....eewww! The third is ur was the breakfast for the 2 days we were there was always running out...they were out of yogurt, butter, syrup, jam, and 2 of the 3 juices......they seem to be inconvienced to be asked for more. It took 10 minutes to wait for butter and syrup. The TV was the old fashion kind and their cable is super basic and it is different from the published channels in their book. "Double billed for moldy room"
At check-in the motel staff required a credit card even though the room was paid for on Expedia. The lobby appeared neat and clean, and the staff was polite. My children enjoyed their stay the rooms were very spacious and clean. The swimming pool was not what they were expecting it was not the regular size and the Jacuzzi was not on.
