Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay HK - Hong Kong

My friends and I rented three rooms in this hotel as it was a group trip. All the rooms were satisfactorily clean and the rooms were cozy. This place is easily accessible from the MTR or trolley. The WiFi was weak but I called room service and they brought up a router right away. I would recommend this mid-price hotel to a friend!

The rooftop pool and exercise room are breathtaking. Second time we stayed there. Close to transportation. Good dim sum breakfast place at the corner if you want an alternative to the hotel. Their buffet is also very good.

Metropark Causeway Bay is just a 3 minute walk to the MTR Subway, which can take you anywhere in Hong Kong in just minutes. Convenient grocery store, laundry, several small breakfast/lunch restaurants and a couple of bars are just outside, and the hotel also has two nice restaurants. The rooms were adequate size, comfortable with all expected amenities, […] and most have great views of the city, though we saved by skipping the city view room rate as we were out all day from 9am to 9pm touring. The hotel staff is friendly, professional and met all our needs, including easy currency exchange in just a few minutes. They even brought up a special router to strengthen our WiFi connection in the room. Victoria Park, the Hong Kong Library, the swank Sogo and Times Square Shopping districts are within an easy 5 to 10 minute walk, as is the popular "Din Tai Fung" restaurant for great food. Jump on the MTR at the Tin Hao station and visit Kowloon, the Star Ferry, the peak, even a quick ride out to Lantau Island for the amazing glass bottomed "Ski lift" up the island to see the "Big Buddha." The Subway is easy to use with the "Octopus Card" and very clean and efficient. After hours at the hotel, have a drink at "Vics" and take the elevator up to the top floor swimming pool and spa, with great city views. Metropark is great value, great location and great service. The room are so small and dirty, swimming pool are so dirty as well, the lobby will close by 12:00 a.m, and no one can stay at the lobby after 12:00a.m. hall way light will turn off after 12:00a.m. I will not rate it as a 4 star hotel!! For that price, I can always find better hotel for more convenience location!!

I travel a lot for both business and pleasure so you might find my review helpful. Pros: close proximity to the metro station, nice bar with a great happy hour (starts at 3pm), hotel staff was nice, 7-11 next door. Cons: terrible smell throughout the hotel-- either mold or a mixture of a cleaning solution with bad water. Smell was worse in the bathroom. […] There were 3 of us on this trip and each person had their own room (different floors), each room had the same smell. There was no WIFI in the rooms, only corded ethernet. After complaining to the staff, they brought in a wireless router into my room. Also the hotel says they are in Wan Chai, however, they are not. Minutes from the action in the central district, but in a quiet neighborhood. The location had the best of all worlds. 2 minute walk to Metro Rapid Transit station, near Victoria Park. Room was very nice, service was excellent. Breakfast buffet just right. I thought this hotel was a find.

We had an exceptional experience at this hotel during our recent stay in Hong Kong. It was conveniently located around the block from the MTR, and the staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The room was roomier than my relatively low expectations of infamously constrained space in Hong Kong - it even had just enough to squeeze in a crib for […] our toddler. It was also convenient to work directly with a travel agency located in the hotel to book tours and tickets to the cable car on Lantau Island. My only minor complaint - which would be a greater complaint if I was staying here on business - is the constant struggle with the wi-fi. Not only did you need to be somewhere in the hotel hobby (with limited number of seats) to access the wi-fi, it was veeerrrrry slooooow. When we arrived at the hotel we were amazed by the friendly and professional welcome we recieved. This set the tone for our stay and we were in no way disappointed. The only slight problem was the size of the room, which was small. This was offset by the friendly nature of the staff.

Wonderful hotel, excellant staff, very courtious and helpful. Views were wonderful of Victoria Bay. Location was decent, as Hong Kong has an excellant subway system. You can also purchase a 3 day toourist pass, which includes a one way trip either to or from the aiport. Be aware, the tube system doesn't open until 0600, so an early flight may pose issues. The […] draw back - their bar was expensive, no bottled water was given, and the local resturaunts are just that - very local, so watch out for hygeine issues. Otherwise, a great say. Overall our stay was very nice. We booked a 10-stay in this hotel and we have an unobstructed view of Victoria Park and Hong Kong harbor. The only thing I complain about this hotel is that, on the second night of our stay, I found something running swiftly before my eyes when I was about to turn off the light at the night stand; I gazed at the night […] stand intensely and there I found a small cockroach disappeared before my sight again! Hotel was superbly located near subway (but then everything in HK is near a subway). Enjoyed the fact that I was three stops from Central yet not in the mad hub of the centre of town. When explored the neighbourhood, found there were ample restaurants, stores etc. Loved the rooftop view and the gym facility which was there too.

The breakfast is adequent. The hotel rooms in Hong Kong are typically small. We stayed in an Executive Parlor room because we have a child and needed to add a bed. The room is big enough to add a bed without feeling crowded. The bathroom is also big. I would suggest any family which needs an extra bed to consider Executive Parlor. I wasn't especially impressed with this user pick. The bad: one entire night's sleep ruined because of loud "neighbors." Called the front desk 3 times, noise/banging continued, was eventually moved to a different room at 3 a.m. Non-smoking rooms still smelled smokey. Many times long waits for elevators.
