"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION" Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Room was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation

A short guide to Central Station

Rome’s central train station, Termini is the entry point to the city from Fiumicino Airport, and is an impressive modern architectural sight. Between here and glamorous Via Veneto, there are several interesting places to visit. The Palazzo Barberini is a superb baroque palace, the Terme di Diocleziano was the city’s largest bath complex and the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione is remarkable for its Capuchin monks’ crypt.

For someone who has lived all his adult life in North America, European hotels are a new experience. The (single) rooms are similar to the inside rooms in Cruise Ships, fully capable of causing Claustrophobia. This particular hotel was very convenient, just 5 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station. It was clean, the staff was friendly and cooperative. […] However, I spent three uncomfortable nights in a Sauna room. The heating units in washrooms are turned on in the evening and remain on all night. There is no way to control the heat. The only choice you have is to turn the AC on to counterbalance and hope the AC wins, but it always lost. The room temperature reaches 30 degrees at night and on just cannot sleep in that heat. The duty manager advised to open the window and leave it open all night so the 3rd night was a bit bearable. I was told that the problem was that my room was too small and it gets too hot. No kidding. The room was annoyingly small. Read more

It was a great way to see the city and the cost was minimal. Hotels.com was the best price I found on this hotel, plus the reviews were very helpful in making my decision too. Stayed at the Piemonte in Rome for a few days at the start of a two week holiday (before heading to Sorrento) and then for one night before flying home. Uphill […] on on way back and we sometimes jumped on a bus! We stayed in a room on the ground floor on the first stay and on the first floor for 1 night on the second stay. The ground floor room was above the breakfast area and clinking of cups/plates and chair dragging can be heard at breakfast time, but as we were up and out early this wasn't a huge problem. Breakfast wasn't amazing - basic continental, but overall ok. Would consider this hotel again for future stays in Rome. Read more
