The Holiday Inn Express in Martinsburg is NOT in Martinsburg....its in Falling Waters. So the name is misleading. The hotel is good and comfortable but the amenities are cheap. For example, the in room microwave is cheap and almost not useable. the hotel computer was cheap and the printer broken.

Great location off I-81 with Walmart and restaurants close by. Friendly staff. Hot breakfast was enjoyable. Quiet, clean room. 29 year old female traveling alone and I felt very safe and confortable. I will stay here again.

They were in the process of replacing carpet when I arrived. The hotel was a mess, very dirty. I tripped over some of the workers' tools while trying to get to my room which was still being cleaned when i got there. The elevator was disgusting. The staff were all very friendly but I was very disappointed in this hotel overall.

This hotel is an over night stay during trips between Georgia and Maine. We arrive exhausted from either direction and try to get started early the following day. Other than a Domino's pizza there isn't a restaurant within walking distance but the convenience of the location makes that okay for us. Immediately off the highway but you can't hear traffic. […] Have always found the rooms clean and proper. The new flat screen TV's are nice and the soft/hard pillows are a nice change from the norm at a hotel. It's pet friendly and we've not experienced pet dander/odors or damage in the rooms. Breakfast is sufficient to get us going in the morning. Bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits, cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, milk, bananas, sometimes there is chipped beef, white sauce, OJ and other juices. I look forward to arriving there because I know what to expect and I haven't been disappointed. Haven't tried the pool so can't comment there. The staff has always been pleasant on the phone and in person. If I were staying in the area for a longer period of time I might book elsewhere because of the need to get back into the car to find a restaurant [which, I understand, are just a few minutes away] but this place fits our need and we like it. When you stay at a hotel, you typically rate it on how restful it was. When housekeeping knocks at your door at 8:20AM on Sunday to see if you're still there, waking up everybody, that's not restful. Aside from that, the hotel was okay.

Nice property that is well maintained and pet friendly. Breakfast was more than adequate but finding food outside of hotel for other meals was grim. Choice within short drive of location were pizza buffet, Chinese take-out with a few tables for dine-in and Japanese. That was it. Alternative is to keep driving and eat in Martinsburg. The hotel was fine and clean and the owners seemed to be friendly. However, the hotel advertises that there is a business center, and this really isn't true. There is one very old PC and a tiny inkjet printer in the lobby and they are very slow. Also, Microsoft Word or another word processing program are not installed on the computer so you can't open […] work documents anyway. The weather had been in the high 90s all day. When we got to our room the AC was OFF. It took two hours to get the room comfortable. The man at the desk could not speak English very well and it was hard to communicate. The hotel was not in a good area to find food for dinner.

The bathroom was not clean and there was partially used shampoo bottle on the counter. The breakfast buffet was terrible. The eggs were clearly not from an egg. The food was tasteless and the selection was not what was presented on line or in the hotel brochure. All of the juice was watered down and the biscuits were not completely baked and soggy. […] The "business center" was a computer on a little table in the lobby with the printer on the floor and a dirty kleenex next to it.... nasty!
