The hotel staff were polite and helpful, the included breakfast good. Not enough light in bathrooms, and they could use a brighter paint job.

Nice decent room, great location, good service, all was nice until I tried to send some emails with 1-2 pages attachments. Internet was way too sluggish and it took 25 min to send. Internet connection kept disconnecting and even after the front desk rebooted the router still was almost impossible to have a semi decent internet experience.

Pleasant environment with a beautiful view to the mountains. Very convenient location. Our room (two queen beds) was spacious. The beds were a little too soft. The breakfast was a bit minimal (waffles, bread) and the breakfast areas was too small for the number of guests in the hotel. Otherwise a pleasant experience overall. it was ok....the location was terrific and the price was ok but there were two problems....first, the location could use some much needed updating, the porch outside room 235 is crumbling and dirty....second, one day our towel was delivered to our room with bloodstains on it.....this has never happened to us before and was very disconcerting

If you need a basic room that doesn't bust your budget, and is close to Capilano suspension bridge and Grouse Mtn, this place fits fine. Not suggested for a romantic getaway at all, but if a couple of friends are going up for fun on the mountain it's a place to crash. As far as comfort, the swamp cooler worked albeit a bit noisy. The picture online is NOTHING like what you see when you drive up. The place looks like a very low end motel! The room looked like it was from the 50's or 60's and was not well maintained. The airconitioning did not work and the toilet leaked. I was given excuses by maintenance. Finally given new room when I complained multiple times.

Clean and friendly. Wouldn't stay longer then one night. Needs better bedding and needs to be aired out. Very little light in the room: stayed in one bedroom but it's not a separate room can be separated by blinds.

Much nicer when they took the pictures, it still holds a slight charm. Grouse chose to redo the restrooms and left the room looking and feeling dated. The location is walking distance from a couple recommened eatery's. Earls being literally around the corner on marine dr is first, next to that is some good vietnemesse food, opposite down capilano is […] a place with great donairs. Driving over lions gate bridge to get to downtown is a breeze. You just need to get used to driving in Canada. Location is very good, the inn as a whole experience is sub par.. Rooms could have been better quality with updated beds, while staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to others and wish people to stop by the shell station, say hi to our buddy debbie if she's working. Friendly local mechants and attendents made our stay much better. Grouse Inn is a great hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great location! Close to bus stops that go to downtown Vancouver, West Van and North Van. The only things I can think of that were cons to this hotel is the breakfast they offer is very limited, though there are a few places within walking distance that serve breakfast, and the beds were a […] little uncomfortable, I was the only one out of our group that thought so though. This is an older propewrty, but is very well maintained for it's age. The staff was very friendly. It was a nice place for the price paid. It was in a very convenient location for my family. We didn't use the pool, but there were many people using it so I guess it was good. The breakfast was minimal. Frozen waffles/ toast & toast. Would have liked to […] see more variety in fruits tha just apples. The suite was odd. The TV was in the far little living room where the sofa was & not in the bedroom area. We got exactly what we had hoped for in a low-cost, conveniently located motel. Traffic back into downtown Vancouver accross the Lions Gate Bridge was always heave and a bit of a drag but everything else was fine.

While we were only here 2 nights, the sleeping was tough. The beds were uncomfortable and the room smelled of old smoke. However, the kids were thrilled with the pool and swing set on site. The room was definitely overpriced for what we received.
