"historic can just mean old"
The front desk was impersonal. Our room door needed repair as well as another family that was sitting in the hall while we checked in. The one friendly personality was the waitress at breakfast. They surely need some training in customer relations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"shop worn and disappointing food"
everything was not as we had expected..........older hotel in need of renovation............bathroom was a sink and a tub and stool no place to put anything on shelves or counters...........just in need of a major makeover and updating..............food very mediocre and proud of the prices.......would not reccomendGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I purchased two rooms for one night for a co-worker and I who were attending a meeting. The hotel needed maintenance- there was a huge tarp covering the wall and windows outside of my room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the decor and the staff could use some polishing. Breakfast in the hotel at 7:30 am resembled a table of left […] overs served straight from the refrigerator. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Some Pro's, Some Con's"
The term "historic" I think was used to cover a multitude of sins in regards to this place. The front facade really is beautiful and quaint, but beyond the lobby the room is different picture, such as the non-squared door that doesn't have weather stripping which allows the 30deg. outside air to flow in from the 3/8th-in. gap around the door, the 1/2-in […] depressed bathroom tile that leads into the shower, or the towel that still had the remains of a red-yellow stains on it (my personal favorite). Could have been from a Lily's anthers, could have been from blood - not sure. For one of the only hotels in the Augusta area that boasts any charm in the area, there lacked a binder for tourists to learn more about the hotel, what sites there are to see, places to go, attractions, nearby restaurants, etc that seem to find their way into other lodgings. On the plus side, there was ample hot water that came quickly, the bed was quite comfortable, the check-in/out process was efficient, and the staff were all very friendly. All in all, it seems like one ends up paying a little more for a name and "historic" grandiose self-awarded titles (Grand Hotel of the South?) for what could be equated to a step up from a Motel 6. For as much as we paid, a Holiday Inn Express would have at least a stain-free towel, a squared door with weather stripping against the cold, and a bathroom floor that didn't look like it was going to collapse from under the shower. But this may just have been our room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, lovely building, large room, very nice staff. The price was a bargain at $80 per night for what was provided. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice except for..."
The hotel was so cute and very, very nice. It was very comfortable as well. My only complaint is that because of the age you tend to hear everything going on in the rest of the hotel from your room. Otherwise, EXCELLENT!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nicely renovated classic styled hotel. Helpful staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location to all attractions!"
ANother reason to stay is the excellent, friendly service from Kim in the dining area. We stay there often for tournaments & she goes out of her way to be sure we get what we need prior to our matches. Partridge Inn is so lucky to have such a loyal, dedicated employee with a great heart!! Thanks for making our stay worthwhile Kim!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
THe area surrounding hotel was beautiful. I had read reviews and understood that some things were not updated. Disappointed at check in with knowledge of staff regarding area restaraunts and room service (nonavailable) as well as a continental buffet vs full buffet. Bathroom shower quickly ran out of hot water (limited hot water and full force shower […] heads-painful force); also the lack of garbage cans for room and bathroom is subpar. Will not stay in this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice historic hotel. Key word is historic."
The staff were among the best I have ever dealt with. The Bar with the veranda seating was exceptional. The breakfast was very good as well. The only real negative was the television and it had VERY poor reception but who stays in the room to watch TV? We were only there one night but would return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place to stay"
Overall, we had a nice stay at the Partridge Inn. However, it seems like for a historic hotel, some of this history would be reflected in the rooms. From inside the room, you could be in any hotel. The front desk staff were friendly, but never did bring us items we asked for twice (extra wash cloths, etc.) There was a lot of mold in the shower grout […] & the room needed dusting. When we went down for breakfast Saturday morning around 8, it seemed like they weren't really ready to serve guests. There was no salt/pepper on the table, out of various breakfast items, etc. But, we appreciated that everyone was nice to us and overall we enjoyed staying at the inn. We felt like it was a nice inn, but it could be a really great inn with not too much more effort. Thanks! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Antique with a modern twist"
Love the , " turn of the century elegance" with all the modern conveniences. Makes you feel like times machines may really exist. "Hotel in Augusta? This one is a good choice!"
The staff at the Partridge Inn were very accommodating, especially with the convenient shuttle to Georgia Regents. "Augusta Business Travel"
Hotel was a little outside of the business district but a great alternative to the Marriott. You need a car if staying at the PI but it is a lovely old hotel with nice pool, bar and breakfast buffett.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, great service. Unfortunately too much went wrong with my stay. First, I was put in the wrong room. Then I was placed in a room with a sink that didn't drain. May seem like small things but first impressions mean a lot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasurable stay in Augusta"
We had an amazing time staying at The Partridge Inn while on our way home to Nashville. Is it a 5 star hotel - no but it's better due to the history!!! The history and staff made this one of our most pleasurable hotel stays and we travel often. We were treated like royalty from the moment we entered until we left. What an amazing staff and loved that […] the hostess took the time to explain about the pictures in the lobby. Beatrese was so nice and very knowledgeable about Augusta and the hotel history. My husband said she could work for The Chamber. We will indeed be back and will tell all our friends and family about the inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice and quiet"
Having grew up in Augusta I never had a reason to stay at the PI but had eaten there and gone to the bar. I now live in Colorado and chose the PI to stay in whne I went home for a visit. It was very nice and quiet. The staff was excellent. Comfy beds with down comforters. It is an old building rich with history. Loooked like it recently had some updates […] such as new paint. "Neighborhood Inn - not a neon jungle"
Everything was pleasant about the hotel and the hotel employees were quite friendly, if there was anything that I would consider a "negative" it would be that ownership needs to upgrade the carpeting throughout the hotel including inside the rooms; not that it showed a lot of wear and tear but, it was tired, bland and dated. Same for the windows; they […] need to be replaced with case windows that can be rolled open to allow fresh air in the rooms. "Came thru Augusta on a Saturday night this summer"
And this turned out to be a good choice. Nice, old, traditional hotel. Some funny smells here and there and some a/c issues in the halls, but overall the rooms were comfy, the staff friendly, and the hotel bar was actually a lot of fun. Seemed like a spot where all the locals (younger crowd, more or less college-age) come for a typical Saturday night […] for live music. This is a solid option if you're ambivalent about updatedness/newness/whatever and just want a hotel with some character and an experience outside your typical chain Holiday Inn. "Southern Hospitality 101"
Night clerk was annoyed that we were checking in at 1AM. There was an issue with finding our reservation at first. She eventually found it, but not before we got unwelcome attitude. Then we were given a keycard for a room already occupied, so we had to go through a process for us to get another room; a process accompanied by more attitude from the clerk. […] Restaurant staff next morning had attitude as well over our requests for butter and ketchup for the homefries. The accomodations were charming and clean and the food was very good in the restaurant, but the staff as a whole ruined the experience for us. They need a class in Southern Hospitality 101. "Close to friends and family."
I love the PI. I have been going there since a kid to enjoy meals and events. This was my first time to stay in a room and enjoy the historic building as a whole. It was nice to have a pool. The most enjoyable is sitting out on the veranda to have some wine and a meal. I was there for 3 nights and the staff was friendly and efficient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Friendly staff, but hotel is dated and it shows. From the uneven paint job to the lumpy carpet, The Partridge Inn could use a little TLC. We will certainly choose a newer hotel the next time we stay in Augusta.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing stay at an Iconic Augusta Inn"
I grew up in Augusta and went to visit for my baby shower, having family and friends come in from all over the east coast and of course, we were all excited about the Partridge Inn and BRUNCH. From the moment we arrived it was just sad. No valet, difficult parking, I'm pregnant and no one offered to take my bags. Our first room was moldy and smelled […] awful, our second room was better but still not up to par. Carpet was coming up from the wall, lighting was horrible, only one mirror, cornices were falling from window treatments. No one answered the phone when we called down for milk at night or splenda in the morning. And I had to complain about the noise of a relay race that was going on outside of our room at 1am! Then the legendary Partridge Inn brunch...major disappointment. For $25 per person we got cold food, 15 minutes wait for a cup of coffee and horrible service. I will say that the manager and lady at the front desk seemed very concerned with our feedback and are working to refund our stay. I just want to see the Inn what it once was. "Very Good option."
I stayed at Partridge Inn for three nights. My room was good. The hotel is dated. It needs a good renovation. But for he price it was fine. It was a great location for my work. "Not your typical classy historical hotel"
Among checked in, I was greeted by rusted and smelly furnishings. I have it the benefit of doubt (simply because I wouldn't get a full refund by that time). However, as soon as I entered my double queen/kitchen room on the first floor, I sensed the room being extremely under care and it was dark. With only two tiny windows up by the ceiling, it didn't […] help but to think how gloomy it was going to get at night. This was not it! There was a spider staring right at me on the bed!!! Long story short, I called hotels.com and was able to work out the refund and moved to the Marriott in downtown. Do not stay here unless you get the thrill at a suspiciously haunted hotel. "Front desk clerk left little to be desired"
We spent the night here for our anniversary since we stayed here the night of our wedding. Was always extremely satisfied with this hotel. However, This time that was not the case. My husband and I arrived at 2:10pm with our bags ready to check in. Chris was the front desk clerk. He seemed bothered to even acknowledge us so I spoke first and let him […] know that we were checking in. He didn't even look at his computer and said your room is not ready yet. I let him know that we were supposed to check in at 2pm And he said we don't do check-in until 3pm. Even after I showed him my confirmation that stated check in with at 2 PM he still just said well I don't know why it says that we don't do check ins until 3pm. He didn't bother to apologize or even double check if maybe the room was ready. So my husband had to take our bags back to the car and when we came back at check in he mumbled so much I did not even understand what room number he said for us to go to. The room wasn't dirty but there were definitely spots that could have been cleaner and the hed was not comfortable at all.The only upside was dinner and brunch there, though still overpriced for what you get in my opinion. I doubt we will stay here again in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Was looking for an Inn for my family to experience, very good southern hospitality however the room was a little misleading. Room, staff and dining were enjoyable. Live jazz on weekends and good food and drink made a great difference. I don't recommend the "express" check out.
