"Times Square Nugget" Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

"Consistency. You can depend on it." Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

Overview of The Wall Street Inn - New York

Rarely can you describe a New York hotel as being both elegant and affordable, but the Wall Street Inn, located in the Financial District in Lower Manhattan, fits the bill. This former Lehman Brothers annex is 2 blocks from Wall Street and within a few minutes' walk of many banks and federal buildings. You can walk 5 minutes to the New York Police Museum; walk 5 minutes beyond that, and you'll be at bustling, historic South Street Seaport. There, you can board an antique sailing ship and see New York from the water. Have lunch on the Seaport's cobblestoned Fulton Street, home to many bars and restaurants. Or walk 10 minutes south to Battery Park, where you can board the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Heading farther afield? A subway station is a 3-minute walk--and conveniently around the corner from Tiffany & Co.'s Wall Street branch.

Wherever your day takes you, start it off on the right foot with a complimentary continental breakfast buffet. Hit the fitness center, then reward yourself with a quick sauna or steam. If you want to stay in, you can have your lunch or dinner brought to you via room service, provided by the nearby Smorgas Chef restaurant. Heading out? Stop by the concierge desk or use the lobby computer kiosk to cement last-minute reservations.

After a day of meetings or sightseeing, your elegant, high-ceilinged guestroom with city views is a welcome retreat. The warmly inviting Early American decor recalls the neighborhood's rich heritage, but the comforts and conveniences are thoroughly modern. Beds are layered with luxury linens. The HDTV comes with more than 200 channels, including HBO and ESPN, so you won't miss a single episode of your favorite series. Or boot up your laptop and put the final touches on your business presentation - wireless and wired high-speed Internet access is complimentary. iPod docking stations, direct dial phones and in-room safes are provided. All rooms include separate sitting areas, desks and blackout curtains. Marble-tiled bathrooms are stocked with designer amenities. Other thoughtful touches include compact refrigerators and complimentary copies of The Wall Street Journal (weekdays) and The New York Times (weekends).

The Wall Street Inn Wall Street - Financial District

A short guide to Wall Street - Financial District

Wall Street comes to life before dawn as traders rush to Lower Manhattan to make and break deals. But finance is just one aspect of Lower Manhattan, where colonial churches stand next to skyscrapers. Within the district, rebuilding continues at Ground Zero. At Battery Park, ferries depart for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, America’s beacon of freedom.

It's beautiful, European style hotel--clean, and gracious. The only thing I didn't like was that there was only a sheer curtain in the bathroom. Maybe this is naive […] on my part, but I like to see what I'm getting ahead of time. Breakfast was also not impressive for the money. Nevertheless, it was a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay. My wife and I came into the city for a long weekend, and have nothing but good to report about The Wall Street Inn. It was incredibly convenient for us––close to several subway lines, and the Staten Island Ferry. It's in a quiet location. The decor is elegant, and while not super-fancy, it has a quality, clean, homey feel. The service was unobtrusive […] and helpful (when we were 10 minutes late ordering our dessert after service hours were over, they didn't hesitate to accommodate and bring us a scrumptious, hot, chocolate cake with ice cream and berries. The continental breakfast hit the spot, and the breakfast room is cozy/comfortable and a nice place to start out the day. We were pleasantly surprised to have a newspaper delivered to our door each morning (either The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times––it was easy to swap and get whichever one we wanted). And the price was entirely reasonable. We definitely won't waste our time looking for a different place to stay next time we go to the city for a weekend––we will definitely visit The Wall Street Inn again! Read more

I grew up in Manhattan. My memories of far lower Manhattan, especially after dark and on weekends, are that of a neighborhood without much to do, and not too safe, with only the ferries and Battery Park and the Fulton Fish Market as attractions. All that has surely changed! This is a great location, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. […] The hotel is in walking distance of the aforementioned ferries, as well as Wall Street, Trinity Church, Fraunces Tavern, South Street Seaport, the World Trade Center site, and a half dozen subway stops to take you anywhere in NYC. And yes, cabs are available, even late at night. The hotel was reasonably priced - even over New Year's! The rooms were large and the king-sized bed extremely comfortable. The free continental breakfast was just fine. So whether you're on business, shopping, looking for fine dining, or just want to take a leisurely stroll by the East River, the Wall Street Inn is the place for you. The Wall St. Inn is possibly one of the most convenient hotel locations in the whole world if the purpose of your trip is to conduct some business in the Wall St. financial center. Located right at the heart of the financial district in NY, it does not get any better than that... Overall, the place is quite nice, a relatively cozy space attended by […] respectful and friendly hosts, who would usually help you out as needed. Compared with other places, rooms are on the relatively small side; bedding is certainly above any of your typical Inns, but below any high-end suite. Aside from that, bathrooms are quite amenable, not too big, not too small, just the right size to be comfortable, enjoy your shower and morning grooming... Amenities are quite nice, but not many: you have the standard coffee lounge settled in a friendly and Inviting set of tables and a few sofas in the back, ideal to enjoy morning coffee with a newspaper, or simply to relax a bit upon your arrival. You can also count on standard continental breakfast every morning, and you'll certainly be surrounded by a good amount of ties and road warriors, getting ready to start their day. Parking is good, the lot right across the street will give a $10 break for hotel patrons, but as you might expect in Manhattan, be prepared to pay for it... Overall, I'd be back anytime I need to be in town for business, but if the purpose is tourism exclusively, this hotel gets in competition with many others closer to Times Square and within the same price range, comfort and amenities. I recently stayed @ the Wall Street in in Lower Manhattan & was pleasantly surprised. While small, the hotel was extremely clean & inviting. I love the surrounding neighborhood & pubs. I was in town […] to run the NYC 1/2 marathon, so sleep was crucial. Unfortunatley the patrons & bar band across the way weren't aware of my plans, lol. I had to put the heating fan on high to drown out the noise outside. But this led to an overly warm room which kinda dehyrated me. I suppose I could have asked for a different room, but I didn't. I'm sure there are live bands on certain nights & if you don't have to go to sleep early (which most people don't when they're visiting NYC) you should be fine. The free breakfast was very light fare, but good. If you're a big breakfast person you'll have to seek out more food in the shops close by. I would highly recommend this Inn to family & friends.
