Great location. 1 block from Canal and Burbon. The Saint Charles street car line runs directly in front of the hotel. Short taxi ride to superdome and New Orleans Arena. Service was really lacking. They advertise free breakfast. 1 hour before breakfast the staff stopped refilling food and coffee. They also started pulling items food items 30 minutes […] before end of breakfast despite there being a room full of people. A simple example is they wouldn't even refill the hot water. The hotel is very old but seems fairly well maintained and has some modern fixtures. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast one of the better we have seen at any hotel. I have stayed in a lot of rooms near this location. This was by far the best overall for the price. Let me repeat that, for the price this place can't be beat. The rooms have been upgraded in the last year or two. This place does miss a few small details. We didn't have a tv remote, but I wasn't there to watch tv. The other reviews about hot water can […] be a concern if really hot showers are your thing, the water gets warm but not really hot. This is a great location if you are checking out the French Quarter. It is convenient, and the streets are safe (as safe as you'll find in this area). There are restaurants and a pharmacy on the corner. Really handy. If you want luxury and a really quiet place, stay somewhere else. If all you need is a bed, this hotel is great. Very central location, not directly in the French Quarter which is a plus, but just a block away from all of the happenings. The breakfast is great, no one should ever complain about a free breakfast. The standard queen room is small, the pillows are awful, and there is no in room safe. You'll find the […] coffee maker in the tiny bathroom with the questionable shower floors. Its not that the houskeepers arent doing their job, its that the hotel needs to consider bleaching the shower and replacing the stained mat. no hot water after 0900 Sat. morning. When I asked at the front desk, I was told the "broilers" were out. Warm water available Sat. night but no hot water again Sunday morning. When I complained again, I was told the "broilers" were old and could not keep up with all the people showering at the same time. I will not stay here again.

quality of service was excellent. We were a family of 10, staying in 4 rooms. Only two were ready for early check in but we were allowed to check into those and return later for check in of the other two. Three of the rooms were next to each other and the fourth room was on the same floor. We appreciated being in close proxemity of each other. A faternity […] bus checked in right after us and they were extremely loud in the hall at 10:00pm. We were in town for a 10K race the following morning and required sleep. I didn't expect much in my stay, nor did I need much. My criteria was a low-cost hotel near the French Quarter. For this, it sufficed. The hotel was dated, it was not immaculate, but my stay was completely satisfactory. I did not like the $30 valet parking per day, but that is pretty much standard in NOLA. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. The location was outstanding, close to everything. Breakfast was really good. The only bad part was the parking deck. Shared with another hotel, had to go up above the sixth floor to park. It was time consuming and a pain to move the car.

It's in a great location for the rate - 2 blocks over from the convention I attended and I saved ~$50 a night. Hot water was slow to start the first night, and the walls are thin, but I was happy enough to extend my stay a night. Hotel staff are friendly and professional.

The room rate and proximity to the French Quarter were the main reason we chose this hotel. Some reviews we read were unfortunate but we experienced nothing negative. We appreciated the complementary breakfast and the parking around the corner worked out just fine. We would stay here again.

This property was NOT as advertised. The room description as provided through Hotels.com lacked several of the listed amenities. Linen service was provided only on two of the four days of our stay (linen truck supposedly was late both days). The hotel manager could never be located by the staff.

It was great! Don't believe the bad reviews! It's totally worth the money and in a great area surrounded by other hotels and it leads right into the French Quarter. I felt totally safe and the rooms were great, especially for the price of the room. Only issue I ran into was the lack of a refrigerator, but overall a great deal!

Need towels and housekeeping said they were bring them up by 9pm Never did receive them. We had some towels but not enough washcloths and hand towel. We had plenty of hot water in our room the the other two rooms that I booked for family and friend said they did not have enough and sometimes any hot water. Yes, it's cheap. But it's not worth it. Fork up the extra money and stay somewhere better. We didn't have hot water for showers. When we got to the hotel we were given a key to a room that was still occupied! Strike one. When I went downstairs to complain the front desk people gave me an attitude over their mistake. We stayed here for 3 nights. First night we had luke warm water in the shower. The other nights, ice cold. A maintenance worker came up and confirmed it, mumbled that he'd "do something downstairs" and that was the last we heard of it. Otherwise, it was a good experience in a great location, short walk to the french quarter.

Not a bad hotel, great location, friendly staff. Only draw back was my bed literally did not have a comforter. Only sheets. Which was not all bad since it was pretty warm and I just come from snowy New York. All and all for a short stay it was great. Definitely not a place I would stay for a several day vacation.
