"Lacks soundproofing, but staff tries to help"
12/09/14 647wy Ashland, Wisconsin
We were assigned to room 311, which is adjacent to the elevator. This was a very clean, well appointed room, but the whirling of the elevator and the dinging of it's bell made the room unacceptable. (I am a light sleeper.) Julie at the front desk was agreeable to letting us switch rooms, something I would rarely request. The second room met our expectations, although I could hear the man next to us, as he had quite the cough, and the lady above us was a very early riser.

It's nice for a small town. Clean and quiet. No problems at all. Just be aware earliest check-in is 1pm which is expected since check-in isn't till 3pm. Small stain on the sheet but, not a something to worry about. Gentleman who checked me in was wonderful! Did not have breakfast on property.

Very welcoming when I arrived. Room was nice, bed was very comfortable, breakfast wasn't ovreloaded which is fine for me. Housekeeping was very accommodating. Lots of hot water. No pool which is fine, wasn't looking for one. Suprised to find it was very quiet. I would stay again.
"Excellent economy hotel"
10/30/14 aging1 Hudson, Wisconsin
It is an economy hotel primarily due to the price and a few missing amenities. The king suite was small but very nicely done. It had a couch, coffee table, TV, extra sink, wardrobe, comfy bed, and a padded window seat great for reading. There were cupboards ( with no dishes in them). There was a good fridge but no microwave...except for the one in the lobby. There was a table with 2 chairs set up for room service to be delivered or picked up from someplace else or for a game of cards. The cupboards are bare, however--no glasses, cups, plates or silverware available for those meals. Since we don't enjoy drinking out of cardboard cups, we bought a couple of glasses. Breakfast was limited but what was there was ok. Bathroom shower was slippery. We'd go back but we'd bring our own dishes and utensils if eating in.
"Very Nice Place, but Avoid Room 105"

Very nice room and staff except--room 105 is by a noisy laundry and my wife had difficulty sleeping.

Was very happy with my stay. Staff was pleasant, rooms were spotless, beds were comfy. I would recommend a stay at a Microtel Inn to all my friends!

This is one of the nicest budget hotels I've stayed at in a LONG time. I say budget because I paid under $100 per night for a room with 2 queen beds. The rooms were clean, beds were great. Window seat WITH cushion was a nice touch. Everything seemed new and fresh. Could have used more water pressure in the shower, but that's a 1st world problem, right? The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would have preferred a more private area for the "business center computer." It was next to the front door of the hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel again when in the area.
"Serious Value, great people, great location"
10/12/14 Late-Day-Traveller Thunder Bay, Canada
This is a solid 4 to 4.5 star property available at 3 star prices. Well located just a few hundred yards off the major north south thoroughfare (but no problems with noise whatsoever) this property is very well located for business and leisure travellers alike. Ample parking and a host of restaurants in the near vicinity. Property is also pet-friendly and for someone travelling with three dogs, thats a real bonus. I booked a Queen suite at $102, tax in - includes a free basic b'fast and very quick wifi as well. Room is clean, spacious and quiet - what more can you ask for? Equipped with a fridge and microwave it can help with the high cost of constantly eating out while on the road. Bathroom a very good size and appropriately appointed. Highly recommend. Did I mention the charge for pets? $10. per room, not per pet.....what a deal!
"Great Little Place"

The rooms were super clean. I recommend a suite for the microwave & fridge. The staff could not have been more helpful! They were a delight! Wish the beds were kings and not queens.
