"Comfortable and spacious rooms"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
I only needed a room for an overnight stay before reaching my destination and it was a very good choice. The shuttle arrived within 5 minutes after i called it and that's a good start if you have travelled already for over 12 hours and all you want is sleep. The room was really big and clean and it had all I needed for 1 night. The breakfast is simple but tasty, if you like pastries and oat meals. Two downsides: the aircon was too noisy so if you want to keep it on during the night you better have some earplugs with you and the night concierge guy was kind of unfriendly. The people in the morning were much better.

Very nice location. Suite was good and well-equipped. Golf course not as good as those around.

"Relaxing and quite."
Nice place, a little older then what people may be used to. The staff was great and ready to help with anything we needed. Food was pretty good and the bartender didt stop with us ordering drinks all day at the pool.
"Wonderful, except for the air conditioner."
The hotel and room were very nice with one flaw. When the air conditioner came on in room 523 it was so loud (like a jet) it woke all of us up numerous time throughout the night. It was nice and cool but so very loud. The room was extremely comfortable, clean, and the service very good. Would recommend the hotel but not that room.
Their literature seem to indicate they had tennis courts or tennis courts near by but their staff did not have a clue. We were there for a tennis tournament and needed a place to warm up. Woud never go back. Place is old and worn out. Needs major renovation or to be torn down and rebuilt.
Hotel is older. Had to call front desk three times stating at one in morning to three about noise guests after third call with threat of call police it was taken care of.
Excellent room and service. Will stay here again
"No tennis courts"
It is advertising tennis courts. I traveled from Los Angeles to Arizona, and I booked a room at this hotel FOR THE TENNIS COURTS. It does not have tennis courts for years. I was very disappointed.

Thank you for another great visit to your beautiful city. We stayed there 3 years ago and loved it then and this time was no different. Very nice place! Thank you.

"Arizona Golf Resort - Mesa Arizona"
The only complaint is the televisions. They are floor models and if you are watching a sporting event, like I was, you cannot see the score. This is a very, very nice place. The orange trees are beautiful and smell magnificent!
"Security an Issue"
It was all great except that the maid left our door open all day. How do I know? We left in the morning and she was outside our door, just two doors down. When we got back, late at night, our door was open! Fortunately, nothing of ours was gone, that we know of.
"Poor lighting, dark alleys & horrendous parking"
This hotel appeared very nice from the outside, upon entry to the lobby. However, I arrived at midnight & had to walk a bit after parking in a horrendous parking lot with poor lighting. The walk was in dark alleys, in between commercial trash collectors, and was NOT conducive to a safe environment. So if you like feeling, traveling or walking a distance […] in dark alleys etc., then this is the place to stay. Personally, I would NOT recommend this place at all. Read more

"Convienient"
Good location, clean room, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, golf onsite! Not brand new, but that's reflected in the price.
"great staff -room and pool area needs updating"
The staff at this hotel was excellent. They went out of their way to help me and answer all my questions. The pro shop gentleman was also very kind. The condition of the hotel is a bit run down. There is cracking cement and hot tub has peeling paint. Our room had very thin walls but fortunately our neighbors were quiet. My room had a new granite sink […] top and faucet. It also had a fridge and microwave.. There was plenty of storage and closet space. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom was so small it was hard to get through door without hitting toilet. Our bathroom had peeling/ripped wallpaper. The beds were comfortable as was the pillows. There was blood or some other substance sprayed on wall. My room was in desperate need of a remodel. The hotel is located next to two busy streets. It was nice to have the room facing the golf course as it helped quiet the noise. i was expecting the resort to be in a quiet area, but it is not. However, there was a grocery store across the street so I was able to get food/drinks. The van picked us up from the airport which was fantastic. The van drivers were kind as well. Read more
"Arizona Golf Resort - don't overpay"
Disappointed based on what online photos would have you believe. Our room was boxy with cheap and dated furniture, had an odd smell, stained shower caulking, and a slow sink.

"Mediocre...at best."
Hate to complain, but not a place we would ever go again. Clean, but outdated. The pool furniture was scarce, and there were only 4 lounge chairs. The one we had was missing many straps. Quite uncomfortable. Pool was nice though. Very clean. The tv in the room was ancient, worked once it warmed up, although the color kept changing, and the reception […] was horrible. Room was not ready until 5:30 (we arrived about 4:15 p.m.; check-in time is at 4), and although I gave them my cell #, and confirmed the # w/them, we did not receive a call as promised. When we returned to see if the room was ready, we were told they must have had the wrong number for us. They gave us a handicap room; we did not request or need a handicap room. We ate in both restaurants. Breakfast buffet was good as well as the service, but our meal and service in the lounge restaurant was not so good. Very disappointed. The room did not even have a hotel and local reference guide that provided helpful information such as complete resort info, tv station numbers, close recommended restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. When we asked for one, they gave us a statewide information book. Guess they didn't have anything like that that would be helpful to their guests. Just not a place that we have any desire to visit again. Read more
"Perfect!!"
I would return and/or recommend to stay at this place.
"Nice Golf Course - Aweful Rooms"
Rooms must have been built and outfitted in the early 70's because nothing has changed to the rooms since that time. Horribly outdated and broken down. Add to the rundown condition the fact that the rooms are poorly cleaned (mold on shower curtains) and you have quite the gem here. Rooms are quite large and roomy, but in need of a major scrubbing and […] significant renos/updates. In short, seems like this "resort" is geared towards "a boys golf weekend out" were the guests have little concern over quality in regards to the rooms. Nice golf course, but so is virtually every other course in this city. PS. Dont waste your breath on the staff. Mentioned the mold and rundown condition of the room and was told, "Thats unfortunate." and "Yea. The rooms need a major reno!" No efforts made to relocate, apologize, or compensate. The condition of the rooms convinced me not to bother dining at their "lovely restaurant" and as such I cannot comment on the food. If their rooms arn't clean, I somehow doubt the kitchen is. Run. And do it quickly. With the numerous options around, you wont get anything much worse than here. Read more
"Arizona Gold and Conference Center"
Nice place, but is getting a little long in the tooth. Needs some revitalizing in the rooms where we stayed. Close to the Superstition Mountains and state park. Large shopping center close by. For our purposes it was OK.
"Very good value"
The service at this hotel was great. Every employee I came in contact with was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was slightly dated, but was very clean and in very good condition. Our door faced outside, but I felt the surrounding area was very safe. I stayed here in Jan. (the offseason in AZ), so for the price, this was a very good val […] ue. Read more
"Hotel nice but---"
The carpet in the room was very dirty, in need of a good shampoo. I felt I needed shoes on at all times.

"One Issue"
My only issue was that the heating unit was quite loud when it cycled on. Front desk staff was great. Food was above average.Conference staff was very good also.
"Nice and quiet"
Older decor, but spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Ample FREE parking (hint hint saguaro inn), helpful staff and beautiful grounds make this a great place to stay.
"Arizona Golf Resort - Older but still comfortable"
This hotel has the older look and feel but its convient. The staff are wonderful it has nice grounds. The surrounding area has all you need and the jucuzzi and pool areas are nice. Its comfortable and the rooms are clean. One down fall is the hotel doesn't have ice machines you have to get ice at front desk. But all and all it was a nice quite stay […] . Read more
"Island hidden in city"
We enjoyed the location away from the view of the city hassle and bussle. It was like we were miles away. We especially enjoyed our evening strolls down the 10th fairway. The check-in staff were very friendly and anxious to accomadate and make our stay enjoyable. Our stay could not have been better. We live in Power County eight miles in the farming […] area. "Great, but old"
Incredible service and a nice sized room. However, it is OLD. TVs had issues, front door lock had issues. But we would return if we had another event in Mesa.
"Really Nice"
All single level rooms. Nice golf course view from the restaurant. Excellent omelletes to order. Super service, Great internet connection. Plenty of good parking spaces. Would recommend!!
"Great friendly place"
We had an amazing time, sink and mini fridge we nice since we ahda little one. Very pretty and close to so many things!
"Like an apartment"
Had a great stay! We Did the new years eve prefix meal at the restaurant and it was very good and Extremely reasonably priced. It was like a home away from home:)
when we decided to stay another night it was a pain to extend our stay we had to call hotels .com again a nd book through them instead of just doing it at the couter which was different than what we were told on check in and the older lady at the desk christmas day was not very friendly and didnt really know what she was doing
"Not a resort, but nice"
A few decades ago, this place was probably one of the best places around. However, compared to today’s standards, it’s not but the prices don’t really reflect that fact. The weather was lousy when I was there, so I didn't get to try the golf course. One of the holes was directly outside of my door—it’s one of those old style motels where every room […] exits to outside, but it didn't look like the course was very well maintained compared to many newer courses. However, it would have been great to just walk outside and play a few holes before going to meetings. And, it was December, and being from the Midwest I don’t know what a course should look like then. The room was comfortable and very clean. The basic amenities were there--restaurant/room service, a decent bathroom area, an in-room safe, a kitchenette with sink, a coffee maker, a fridge (empty), and a microwave (which was broken). The bed was comfortable--nice and firm, not one of those massive pillowtops that suck you in, but that's a personal preference. The internet wasn't working for that room when I first checked in. They weren't too concerned about it. It didn't work until late the next morning once the maintenance guys got in. Once the internet did get working, it was very slow. If you have urgent matters to take care of or just want to watch a video online, be ready to go to the Starbucks across the street. (And it never worked in the restaurant.) An important note: If you do stay there, book through this site or a similar site. Their website claims that they'll match any price, but that's not true. I was booking my room fairly late and my smartphone's browser was giving me problems so I called them directly to make sure I could get the room I wanted for the price that this site advertised. They wanted to charge me nearly 50% more per night for the room because they said the rate wasn't available. So: If you’re on a family vacation, you can stay somewhere else with better amenities for the same price Read more

"Some good, some not so much."
Here are the details of my experience, presented as objectively as possible. The rooms were clean. The staff was very polite, very friendly and helpful. The grounds were very well kept and visually pleasing. The fountains were a nice touch. As for the hotel itself, it's in need of renovation. It's showing its age. Rooms: The first room they gave […] me was very spacious, and had a large floor plan with a separate bed room, separate bath, a large kitchen area, parking right outside the door, and a patio that opened into a courtyard off of the golf course. Basically, it was a one-bedroom apartment. The problem was, the room smelled. It wasn't subtle. My family noticed it too. I requested another room. The second room didn't smell, but it was less convenient (on the second floor), it was away from the parking area, and it had no view to speak of (well, except for the highway). It was smaller as well, without a separate bath room. I could have requested a different room, but at that point I was just too tired to deal with it. The overhead light in the room was out. I called the front desk. I waited an hour, but nobody came. I called again. Ultimately, someone came by with a new bulb. They put in a very low wattage bulb (40 watts?), which was insufficient to light the room. Even with all the lights on, the room was still rather dark. Some of the room furnishings were not of the caliber one would normally associate with the term "resort". It was more like what one would expect to find in an average roadside motel. For example, the lamp in the living area was suspended with a decorative chain that was way too long. Someone tied it into a big messy loop to shorten it so that the lamp didn't extend down onto the table below. The couch was stiff, uncomfortable, and cheap looking. Both rooms had very old, round-tube TVs, circa late 80s or early 90s. Ancient by today's standards. The TV reception was quite poor, and the picture was blurry even with cable. The second room was a Read more

"Arizona Golf Resort - Time to relax"
Comfortable accomodations in a pleasant setting. Quiet and peaceful at night. I will stay here again.
"good bang for your buck"
The hotel is not a super nice luxury resort, but a slightly dated hotel with clean rooms, a nice pool, and a relatively quiet area. Close to Usery Mountain. I was visiting family and it worked out great.
"Arizona Golf Resort"
We were very pleased with the roomS. We weren't expecting a nice 1 bedroom villa. Very nice.
"R&R"
A nice location to relax & enjoy the environment.
"Arizona Golf Course and Convention Center"
The staff at the Arizona Golf Course and Convention Center was extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. This is the second time that I have stayed there and I couldn't have experienced a better time.
"Excellent Staff"
we planned a birthday party at the resort and the staff was exceptional in helping us pull this off!
