The room was ok, but the shower was not very hot, the dinner I asked took more than one hour to be delivered in the room and at the checkout, they charged me twice for the dinner. And they wouldn't correct the error immediately. The guy had to call two other people to verify if I was telling the truth about 2 exact same orders for dinner.
"Good business hotel in safe area"

This was the third hotel I stayed at in Sao Paulo and by far the best. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, mini bar is available , spacious bathroom and good internet access. Neighbourhood is safe and near all the upmarket boutiques. The staff is lovely and if I ever go back to SP I hope to stay at this hotel again!
Our room had the rubbish of the previous occupants on the floor but other than that it was clean. The walls were very thin so you could hear all activities going on outside the room. The breakfast was not as good as other hotel breakfasts that we had had in Brazil. The grand impression given by the foyer was not reflected in the rooms. There was okay free WiFi which required no log in details. This hotel would be okay for a short business trip, but it lacks any personality.
"Suitable Location and Attentive Service"

On my last three trips I stayed at Caesar Business Hotel on Paulista (now a Melia I believe). This hotel is closer to our meeting location. It is located in the middle of a "middle-class" neighbourhood (as described by my colleague). The check in was effortless and the room is a good size and bright. I was disappointed by the equipment in the fitness room -- hard to believe but the treadmills needed instructions to start them and the instructions were wrong. It took another guest and I 15 minutes to figure it out. They have a good weight machine, some free weights, a couple of bikes and a stepping machine. No towels or water in the Fitness Centre though. Breakfast and lunch buffets offered a good selection with a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit.
"Solid business hotel"

I stayed three nights at this mid range business hotel. It's not fancy but reliable and pleasant and provided a good base within a short distance of shops and some of the great things to see in the city.

i'd qualify this hotel as a perfect business hotel… had all the amenities you needed… staff is friendly…and only lacked client service because many were not fluent of the English language… (otherwise I strongly believe they would accommodate all your needs)… amazing pool on top!!! location: could have been slightly better if it was further down towards rue bela cintra (where all the shops and restaurants are to be found)… but not really that far to walk anyway…and there is a taxi rank right in front of the hotel for destinations further afield… (we seem to have a dedicated driver as we always catch the same guy - who was super friendly wish I could recommend him but forget to ask his name)…

I stayed on the week of March 20th for a Trade Show. Rooms are very clean, nice breakfast the hotel is nice and clean, great bed to rest after a busy day. The staff very friendly. My only concern is that no one speaks English so be ready to practice your Portuguese other than that I do recommend this hotel!
"Customer service? Not at this hotel!"
This is one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. The customer service is appalling. I stayed as part of a group of 15. It took more than three hours to get checked in and allocated a room. The people on reception were not bothered about providing any customer service and moved at a snails pace. The room was clean and basic. However, my room did not get cleaned on one day and despite ringing reception nothing was done about it. The iron in the room was more suited to a museum. It stopped working after the first use and burnt a hole in my shirt. My colleagues ate at the restaurant and reported the food was inedible. The only saving grace was the rooftop pool which was empty most of the time and that we were only there for 5 nights. Out of choice i would not stay at this hotel again.
"Has seen better days"

I have stayed at this hotel several times because it is near my son's residence. I feel that service is slowly getting worse. This time they gave us a room which as not completely furnished! The sofa and the glass table were missing. One of the phones was not working and the TV channels line up does not correspond to what they say they have anymore (the cable company changed the line up but the hotel did not update it in the rooms). So, instead of CNN you will watch a Brazilian channel, for example. The staff at the front desk tried to be friendly and accommodating, but they were apparently inexperienced and not on top of things. They solved most of our complaints and gave us another room, this time completely furnished, fixed the phone, but apologized about the channel line up, saying they could not do anything. In the new room, we saw little cockroaches wandering around, but the rest worked fine. At check out they came up with frigobar charges that were not ours, certainly some mix-up due to the room change, but removed the charges. All in all, the location, naturally, remains convenient, but the hotel is aging while its staff needs some aging. If this location near hospitals etc is not an issue for you, find a better managed and furbished place.
"Comfort Suites Oscar Freire"

I had a big room, a bit sparsely furnished. Wi-Fi (free) worked well once I had sorted out with reception about the confusing login information. Bathroom was fine, no bath, only a shower. I didn't find the bed hard. Aircon worked well, though you could open the window if you wanted. The (free) breakfast was good - bread, pastries, fruit, cereal, ham, cheese etc. The cooked breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage in tomato sauce) did not look so appetizing. Lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant were OK, though some of the people I was with were unhappy with the food and the service. Overall the service was good, and excellent in parts (especially the guy who brought a corkscrew up to the pool for us), but sometimes there were problems with the staff's ability to speak English. After an overnight flight, it would have been nice to check in a bit early. The neighbourhood seems fine. Plenty of places to eat, and a supermarket just up Rua Oscar Freire. You can get the Metro at Clinicas, about 5 minutes walk away. There was always a cab available at the hotel.
