"Great place, nice amenities"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The hotel appears as if it was recently renovated. Modern, clean rooms and facilities. Nice extras like free coffee, cappucino, espresso 24 hrs/day, adequate free breakfast, small pleasant lounge, free computer, pleasant staff. Near everything. Parking limited - request when you book. .
"Best value in Quebec City"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
We have stayed here before and give it a "best value" rating. Excellent breakfast as well. Staff is very nice and welcoming!!!!!!!!
"Good value for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Very well appointed with many amenities. I felt a bit being "cheap" to charge an extra $5.00 for a code for internet connection. Their offer for free internet service, means a single terminal in the main lobby with internet connection. Long line up, and inconvenience. For a daily $5.00 guest can obtain their personal code to use their own equipment in privacy.Other than that, it was a pleasant stay
"April in....Quebec"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 27, 2012
Great little boutique hotel in the heart of old Quebec, across a small park from the Frontenac and a block from stairway to Quartier Petit-Champlain. Rooms on the small side but cozy, incorporating them into the limits of a very old building. Very clean in-room and out. Very helpful, friendly staff to Americans with French that doesn't go much beyond "bonjour." Outstanding breakfast--waffles with maple cream sauve are a must. Daily parking was reasonable and only one block away.
"nice room in ideal location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
Our double room was small but we live in NYC so we didn’t feel cramped. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. The roof of the Chateau Frontenac was visible from our window. The location in the heart of the historic district and within walking distance of the newer sections is perfect for tourists. We were very happy here, and I doubt you could do much better for the price. Two cautions: (1) you need to check-in at another hotel across the street and a few doors down, as they will tell you when you ring the bell; and (2) avoid the hotel’s breakfast at a neighboring restaurant--it costs $10 Canadian and consists of powdered eggs and such. There is an excellent brunch spot just down the street from the hotel where you can eat well for not much more--it's on the left side as you walk down Rue St Ursule.

"Perfect Location"
Amazing location, almost every other building on the street was restaurant with any type of ambiance from Italian to Indian and beyond!
"Outstanding Location, nice room"
You simply couldn't beat the location of this hotel, directly on the Rue Grande-Allee, close to all the restaurants and sights. We stayed for Winter Carnival, and it was only a 5 minute walk to all the events. The room was clean and comfortable, and felt very cozy with the brick wall and fake fireplace. We would definitely recommend staying here.

"Le Grande-Allee Quebec Canada"
The hotel remaided us of european hotels. It was well located near the old walled city(5 minute walk),near restaurants and nightlife. Breakfast was very good. The staff was most helpfull. Parking was available there-there seemed to be no alternative close by.You had to leave your car key at the front desk. We had a room at the back of the hotel. It was […] very quiet there. Wi-Fi worked well. We liked this hotel and recommend it highly. . Read more

"Very good location"
Very nice and clean hotel. The location is great! But, if you want to have a good sleep, you'd better choose the room that is facing the parking lot, otherwise, you will hear the music from the street all the night. Don't really like the breakfast.
"fantastic hotel"
However there is a nightclub across the street that can be a bit loud. We were coming from California so we went to sleep about the time the club closed 2am.
"Great location but the room were very small."
The location is great. It's a short walk to the old town. The woman who checked us in was a bit rude. We had a room call "Classic Double". It's very small, and no closet. We were facing to the back of the hotel. We had a dumpster view. We asked her politely if we could get a room with a bit better view. She said impatiently "this is the type of room […] you pay for....." Read more
"stairs"
The front desk did not give us a choice of which floor we wanted our room in. There are no elevators and it is hard to take the luggage up the narrow stairs. Otherwise, the hotel is located on the main street, good friendly staff, okay breakfast (could add some eggs to it). Clean and nice.

"Outstanding staff and location"
The staff was very good. The rooms were good and European in style. Location was excellent and convenient to free Eco bus.
"We were bumped."
Though we booked several weeks in advance, when we arrived at 4 pm to check in, there was no room left. Evidently, the hotel owners have several other properties in the city, so we were sent to Hotel Acadia inside the old city walls. They, too, were booked, but gave us a room in the Hotel Louisbourg just around the corner. After this inauspicious start, […] we had a pleasant stay. The room was small but very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and right in the center of the old town. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Read more

"Cute and lovely"
Quiet and lovely place with helpful and friendly staff. Room was so cute, although a bit small, but for two of us was just perfect. The hotel is located in the middle of coffee shops, restaurants and night clubs- you may want to ask for a room at the back of the building if you are concerned about the noise- and also very close to touristic attractions. […] We will definitely consider this hotel for our next trip. Read more
"they need new tv - dating from 1995!"
Concorde and Chateau Laurier are better.
"La Grande-Allee Hotel and Suites"
The hotel was very old so unfortunately the sound carried too well. There was a party at 3am in the room upstairs and I could hear everything. There is no elevator so I could also hear everyone coming down the stairs. Too noisy.

"Le Grande Allee Hotel et Suites"
The sheets had not been changed before our arrival. We found hair and bits of food in the bed. The staff apologized and said there must have been some confusion and the room service must have thought that the previous customers were staying another nightThe area rug was filthy.
"Overnight Stay"
My overnight was great. Location is in the middle of a nightclub/restaurant area. Close to convention center. Lovely hotel great room and service. There are night clubs around but I sleep well so was no problem. Could be if you mind some night noise.

"great hotel!"
quaint, lovely, and felt like a european stay, with a lot of character. On the street where there are wonderful restaurants and close to old quebec. We stayed in the front where you could hear some music of a local nightclub which was fine for us, but if you would like it more quiet ask for a back room. Would go back, anytime! The staff were friendly […] and helpful and the bed was absolutely the best i have ever had in a hotel! Read more

positive - the hotel is walking distance to the old quebec area. restaurants area everywhere within the area....negative - parking is a hassle because it is a few blocks away from the hotel itself. no elevator. room is small. it is a bit pricey.
"A very pleasant experience from start to finish!"
Even on the busiest night of the year in Quebec City - Fete Nationale, the staff exceeded expectations and were wonderful to deal with!!! (especially Francoise, Eric and Charles) Rooms were classically charming with exposed brick & fireplaces, and I am sure that no two rooms are quite the same. Our rooms were very inviting and cozy with modern upgrades […] and amenities in this beautiful, historical Canadian city. Standard rooms are enjoyable. The suite with king bed, fireplace and jacuzzi was fantastic! *(We stayed 3 nights and upgraded to the suite for the final evening) We booked in advanced and hot breakfast was included in the cost. * Be sure to request the main floor if you have concerns with mobility, as there are several stairs to the upper floors. Overall - very enjoyable! We would stay there again. Read more
"Depends what your looking for"
Great downtown location. Not good if your staying for the weekend since the noise of the bars/clubs will keep you awake at night but it might be ok if you plan to party. The hotel has different room sizes...so if you have children make sure the room is large enough....I made the this mistake and it was really tight fit . Good breakfast
"Le Grande-Alle Hotel et Suites in Quebec City"
Great service and very friendly. Location is excellent for sightseeing via walking or guided tours. Superb fare in the restaurant at very reasonable prices. Looking forward to another stay when in Quebec City. Only small knock - no elevator. Good thing - only three floors.
"Grand Allee Suites in Montreal"
Great location, great service. I would request to not have the street facing room at street level ----all the bars are open til 3am+...so you hear everything... Other than that, i would definitely stay here again on my next trip. Very nice place!
"Le Grande-Allee Hotel et Suites in Quebec City"
The location of the hotel was great. Ideally located within easy reach of the old city and situated among bars and restaurants. However, because of this it was very noisy and if you want a quiet time, forget it! There are 2 nightclubs located near the hotel. One is 2 doors away and one is directly across the street. The loud music goes on until the […] early hours of the morning. Nice breakfast though and friendly staff. Read more
"Le Grande Allee- Great location for young people."
We were in shock of how spacious the room was and the amazing location of the hotel. We were on the same street as 10 other good restaurants. The hotel was lacking in the number of places to hang things in the washroom. The service was good and staff were courteous. We thought it would be noisy because we could hear voices from the people above us and […] people walking down the stairs but it wasn't noisy when it was time to sleep so we didn't find it a problem. If it was during a busier time of the year. It might have been a problem. In general, really liked the space. Read more

"Grand Allee - wonderful place"
The Hotel Chateau Grand Allee in Quebec City is a really nice little hotel in the European flavour. The location is great. It is a few blocks outside the walls of Quebec, not far from the citadel. You can easily get around by walking. The staff was friendly , helpful and very comfortable in English. A great place to stay.

"Hotel Chateau Grande Allée"
Great place to stay in Old Quebec. Easy walking distance to everything that is interesting ,wether it be the Museum or the Plains Of Abraham or le petit Champlain shops and restaurants. Its Old world with modern day conveniences.

Read more
"terrible breakfast and dirty"
"A hésiter ..."
