they are claiming to be a 4 starr hotel, I would not give them more then 2 star. Too expensive and over estimation of the class Was dissapointing.

The hotel is very comfortable and the location is outstanding. The quality of the food and the staff is also outstanding.I will certainly recommend the hotel to my friends and will stay there again in the future.We had to battle through a snow storm to get there but it was worth it.

Friendly welcome by reception staff. We were given a sizeable room with a huge bed (mattress a bit too soft for my liking, but that is personal taste) and a Z bed set up for our daughter. Towels were arranged on the bed in the shape of two swans which was a nice touch. Spacious bathroom with a longer and deeper than average bath and nice toiletries. […] Good choice of food in the restaurant (we ate in both nights, which had not been our intention) and excellent, attentive service. Vast selection of malt whiskies. Good sized portions for the cooked breakfast. The hotel is in a quiet location, so no night time noise. There is bike hire next door and good cycling on quiet roads and cycleways. It is conveniently located for visiting the Loch Garten ospreys and for forest walks and a lovely drive by country roads to Coylumbridge and Rothiemurchus for a wider choice of activities and the road to the ski slopes. Stayed for one night just for a weekend chill out after a hard week at work. The staff were very welcoming and service was good. We had a couple of drinks in the bar area and then had dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant is not very comfortable and a bit souless, I'd recommend eating in the bar area. Food however was excellent and service was very […] good. We had booked a standard double and I would rate the room as a bit tired. The biggest disappointment was that the bed was 2 singles put together leaving a ridge down the middle so not that comfortable. We only realised when we went to bed and as I knew we had booked the last room, there was little point in asking for a change at that point. Other annoyance was that the shower head did not fit the holder therefore it flopped about and meant you had to hold it. For me, the 2 fundamentals of a hotel stay are a comfortable bed and refreshing morning shower, regardless of hotel class. Maybe we were unlucky with the room, and the rest of the service was good. We were not asked if we enjoyed our stay as we left and I chose not to complain so I cannot be too critical, hence the OK rating. Read more

The family visited Aviemore (with the children 6 and 11) looking for a few days enjoying the Scottish outdoors. The Boat's staff made us feel like home and the surroundings are astonishing. This hotel is very overpriced for what it is - rather tired and run-down - doesnt justify the price tag. We booked a "de-luxe" room, de-luxe it was not. Food was good but portions were small - would have liked some veg on the plate. Restaurant service too quick - hadnt finished my cereal and the cooked breakfast arrived - dinner over very quickly. In all we really enjoyed our stay here, and would have no hesitation in returning. The staff were all very helpful and polite, and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The only minor complaint I'd have is that the restaurant and bar area aren't really separated, so late diners in the restaurant, looking for a quiet meal, can find themselves […] outnumbered by louder customers. La photo sur le site ne correspond pas du tout à l' hôtel. Nous devions avoir la vie sur les montagnes, nous avons eu la vue sur l’arrière de l’hôtel (cours avec des cabanons). La chasse d'eau du WC fonctionnait très mal.
