We enjoyed our stay and the hotel has a lot of character. The only problem we had was that there was no elevator! Normally that would not be an issue, but my family was traveling with my mom who just had a knee replacement and couldn't walk up the 3 flights to our room. So....my parents couldn't check in and had to find another hotel room. Other than […] that, the room was beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning wasn't great, but it was ok. I think some of the staff had called off the day we were there because there was only one gentleman manning the kitchen, dining room and front desk all at the same time! Overall a nice, clean, character-filled old hotel...I would definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice older hotel"
When we got to the hotel it was still too early but asked if it would be ok to check in, I forgot her name but she was happy to let us check in. We checked out our room then looked in some if the other rooms. Everything was so nice! I love older homes & hotels...felt almost like a bed & breakfast. We had booked a less expensive room (very nice) but […] the larger corner rooms were beautiful! We had inquired about them wanting to stay in one of those on our next trip. We had left to go to some wineries & when we got back they switched our room to the larger room as a happy anniversary to us!! How nice! The bar & food staff were also exceptional!! Loved our stay!! "Old hotel, authentic but not maintained well"
When we arrived, we had to search for someone to check us in. After we were checked in and carried our bags up two flights of stairs, the room assigned to us had the door wide open and one of the beds was broken. Back down the stairs since no one answered at the front desk. Again, we searched for the lady who checked us in and was told by her that she […] thought the bed had been repaired.... Who checks travelers in a room that wasn't physically inspected??? At any rate, we were moved to another room down the hall. Again, we went in since the door was wide open. The room had not been cleaned since there were pieces of lemon left on the furniture. I suppose the floor was supposed to be charming and authentic, but pieces of the floor boards were missing leaving holes in the floor - a little scary if insects crawl through. We made several passes through the lobby and never found anyone behind the front desk. Once, we had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone to help us. The lobby and common areas of this hotel are pleasing, but I would never stay in a room like that again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Door County without the "minimum stay""
I booked this hotel during the beginning of October to see the fall colors. Every hotel in door county had a 3 night minimum stay and I didn't want to end up at a motel. If you are looking to take a leisurely ride up the lake, this is a place to consider! You will not find the amenities of a large hotel chain like an ice machine, or an elevator, but […] there are many pros to the Kewaunee Inn like fresh baked muffins, waffles and pancakes for your complimentary breakfast. The room was lovely with a Jacuzzi tub that we used both nights. We had 2 views of the water although the hotel is not right on the lake. It was very convenient to have a bar/restaurant in the hotel. The food was amazing! The negatives - I had to ask for towels twice after they only gave us one to share in our room. Our room was not cleaned nor was the bed made during our stay. The toilet seat had a crack in it and pinched the skin terribly. There is not much to actually do in Kewaunee so we went north each day. Beautiful scenery though. Those things seem small when you look at the overall experience. It was a cool, old building with tons of history and the local residents were so pleasant! If you are the type that doesn't need the convenience items, and are just looking to enjoy a trip up the lakefront, this is an affordable place to start. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Renovations incomplete. Rooms make no sense. Huge tubs are almost impossible to get into. No Hand rails for safety. No place to hang things up and no place to set things down. "Beautiful old creepy hotel in cool small town"
Staff was very helpful and talkative, pizza at the bar was great as was the free breakfast including cooked to order eggs and pancakes. The main strip around the hotel offers bars, bowling and food. Will definitely be coming back again.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved the place but when we ordered dinner we waited 15 minutes for a server then another ten for a menu after we ordered we got our soup and salad after we were finished we waited over 45 min for our main course. For a place to stay on a fishing or other sporting trip it is probably great, but for one night when you just want to relax and enjoy some down time it isn't so hot. "Interesting but not comfortable"
Lobby was interesting and had character. Hotel is obviously old from a victorian era. The stair case is beautiful and ornate. However, no elevator required us to carry our luggage up the stairs. Room was clean but very plain and not matching the style of the lobby. Bed spread, furnishing and decorations were out dated, probably from the 80's. "One night in Kewaunee"
The Kewaunee Inn is a nice place to stay. It was a little disappointing to not see any ghosts, though. The town has a nice ambiance. Enjoyed the music in the park and the walk out to the lighthouse.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, rooms and staff."
This wonderful, historic hotel has a quaint, idyllic setting on Kewaunee's lakefront. The rooms are comfortable, we had a picturesque view of the lighthouse, and breakfast on the porch is quite charming. But it is the attention from the friendly staff that really sets this hotel apart.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way overpriced, and not at all like their website."
Not sure if it was from lack of use or lack of good process, but our room had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. Quality of the staff varied significantly. I would question who manages this business. They certainly can't be very involved. Very disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice for 1 night"
We stayed at the Inn for only 1 night. It is a historic inn with a feeling like staying at Grandma and Grandpas farm house (creeky floors, things not being level in the room). We didn't see any ghosts.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fun non conventional overnight"
We stayed for the first time at Kewaunee Inn which is a 100 yr. old building with character. We were fortunate to be Inn guests during an anniversary celebration so were invited to participate. Made our stay fun! Loved the large porch on the building. We did walk down to the harbor and around downtown. Too bad Kewaunee is a town with many empty buildings. […] The morning hot biscuits and muffins were wonderful. We did get a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, etc. but probably due to the anniversary celebration. There were small things in the room I would change if I designed it. Pedestal sink is not for women with hair care and make up products. Larger bath towels especially for men would be nice. "Well kept classic hotel!"
The Kewaunee Inn is an older downtown hotel that has been well taken care of. The first floor has a large entry with flowers and a check-in desk, a restaurant and bar. All of the guest rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Our room was extremely clean with everything necessary for our stay. The TV was 1980 vintage, but we did not have much available time. "Good Inn; Great Staff"
Kewaunee Inn has much to recommend it. All the staff encountered were positive, friendly, and fun to converse with. Guest rooms vary in size, views (or lack thereof), and amenities, but all are at least adequate, with nice (updated) bathrooms. Public areas are noteworthy. The bar/restaurant is small, but okay (opening late afternoon). A generous continental […] breakfast is served, often in the charming banquet room and including delicious muffins fresh-baked on site. Be aware that all guest rooms are on the second and third floors, with no elevator, and the front desk has limited hours. Lake Michigan is two blocks east and well worth a short stroll - especially for sunrise. Kewaunee has a beautiful historic residential district, a few impressive old downtown buildings, and a couple of tourist attractions - plus being generally prosperous and looking well maintained. "New ownership working hard"
I selected the Kewaunee Inn online because they allow full refund cancellations up to 24 hours before the reservation (most hotels in the area don't offer this), and we needed flexibility on our travel dates due to a health situation in our family. Happily, we did not need to cancel, and we were able to stay two nights in late July at the Inn. The Kewaunee […] Inn was recently sold, and it is clear that the new owners are working hard to offer a pleasing experience to their guests. We had a spacious room--still in need of some minor repairs (a torn shade) but very clean and comfortable. The Kewaunee Inn has an interesting history and a lot of old fashioned charm, but its greatest asset is the friendliness of the owner and his staff. They gave us good advice about local sites and restaurants, and they were genuinely interested in our feedback about their hotel. If we are back in this area we will stay here again! "Nice historic building"
Our room, from what we saw of others, was one of the smallest in a lovely historic Inn that has been somewhat restored. Service was good and people were friendly, but unless one has a sense of humor about such things as variable water pressure, strongly sloping floors and a lack of practical conveniences such as shelves or tables on which to place things […] such as contact lenses while at the sink, this is not the place for you. On the plus side,it was a quaint little room which the owners had tried to decorate to period and the room was clean and pleasant. We did book at the last minute and probably would have enjoyed our stay more had we gotten one of the better rooms. Although this was not the best experience, I do believe that with time and continuing updates this will become a sought-after Inn in which to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very worn out hotel."
The hotel did have a lot of atmosphere but the rooms were not very clean. Nylon sheets on the bed. The bathroom floor was full of hair. Bath tub needed a good scrub. To celebrate my 70th birthday and my grandson's 10th, I wanted a new experience for all of us so I chose this historic hotel for its age, authenticity, and stories. Beautiful old hotel with so much character. All the rooms are unique without the typical boring hotel furniture. Thick walls so it was very quiet at night. The staff was wonderful. We'll definitely be back. Want to try it out in the summer as well so that we can enjoy the awesome lake views.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel worked perfectly for my husband and I. It was quiet, clean and had lots of character. Its an old hotel, so it does not have the modern conveniences of your bigger hotel chains. If you care about that, this is probably not the place for you. The continental breakfast was fine, but it helped to know there was a cafe within walking distance of […] the hotel. Be aware that if you come back to town after 8:00, you should bring your own snacks. There is not much open. The story of the ghost who supposedly haunted the room next to ours made the stay more interesting. The location, 30 miles from Green Bay, and price, were perfect for us, but the highway heading into Kewaunee can bit a bit sketchy if there is snow. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint and unique"
I love this little town on the water. No, it's not convenient to get to when one attends a Green Bay Packer game 30 miles west at Lambeau Field. But often, Kewaunee is the only location left for hotels on game night. But the drive is pleasant (except in a blinding snowstorm) enough and the town is a throwback, as is this hotel. "Old, Decrepit, Haunted, Dirty"
The Hotel is a run down old style building. The pillows had blood stains on them, the shower head had caked on mold, the bottom of the door had chunks of wood scraped off and a large gap that a small animal could have fit under. Both bar and restraunt were closed, as was most o Kewaunee, WI. The hotel staff contacted me via cell to ask when I was going […] to arrive ( 2 days after I had already checked in and was currently in one of their rooms). The story of the hotel being haunted is TRUE in our opinion. Both my son and I felt very uncomfortable at this place, middle of the night, door handle was shaken vigourously and no one was at the door. Noises that could not be explained in hallways, and various other little things here and there that made non believers of paranormal activity believers. I guarantee that if I ever return to that part of Wisconsin, I will NOT stay anywhere near the Kewaunee Inn, previously known as The Karsten Inn. The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel in my life, and I have stayed in hundreds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Recommended for summer vacations only"
This is a very old remodeled hotel, an historic landmark basically. The room was plain and had a cold feeling to it. The wooden floors creaked. There was mildew in the shower. Access to the rooms, located on the 2nd floor, was by stairs only. Heat was supplied by a window AC/Heat unit that was hard to regulate and very noisy. The bed was uncomfortable. […] The TV was an old analog set with a standard picture tube. Parking was on the street around the hotel. This place may be fine in the summer when there are lake activities going on, but I don't recommend it during late fall and winter. There is nothing to do for entertainment in the town. We drove to Sturgeon Bay and back just to kill time. Headed out very early next morning to get to Green Bay 26 miles away where we had breakfast before the game. "Great place if you are interested in history."
In general, the room was quite adequate. The major drawbacks were in the bathroom. The tub did not drain well so you had to wait between showers. The toilet paper holder did not hold the roll. It is an old hotel, so it does smell musty. If you appreciate old architecture and furnishings this is the place to enjoy it. The continental breakfast was on the brief side. "Older Hotel... great location and great service"
The staff at the hotel was wonderful. Our room was large and the lobby of the hotel was lovely. The front porch where we sat for breakfast was a great space. That said, the rooms could use some updating. The comforters on the beds are clean but very worn, the towels were clean but had small stains from things like makeup and the blankets were not very […] high quality. The beds did not have pillowtop and that is something I have become accustomed to at hotels.
