It's old. It's got character. It's clean. They made a pretty much made to order breakfast in the morning. How can you complain with any of that? Oh - and an oddity in todays world? Analog keys!

"Nice Spot for an Overnight Stay"
We were in Green Bay for a college basketball game and stayed overnight at The Kewaunee Inn. (Packers had a game scheduled; all rooms in G-B were booked.) Admittedly, it's one of the largest Bed & Breakfast establishments I've stayed in. The hotel is quite comfortable. The room was basic with decorations reflecting nature. It was no-frills, but that was expected. Two double beds, a desk, night table, full bath and nice pedestal sink. I had read reviews about the noise and was prepared with my earplugs. As a light sleeper, they definitely came in handy. Breakfast was simple - juices, coffee, muffins, cold cereal and pancakes/waffles upon request. Staff was friendly; we felt quite welcomed. When I'm in the area, I'll return to The Kewaunee Inn!

"A night before a Packers game"
I thought the hotel did the job. It's an old building with lots of antiques. The hotel is clean, but not structurally perfect. It is kind of a neat place. Supposedly it is haunted, but I was a little too buzzed to pay attention to things thanks to the bowling alley / bar right down the road... Which, by the way, is a great place to eat, drink, bowl, and have a good time. There were some paranormal investigators at the hotel when we returned from our night of fun at the alley. I hope that my drunken laughter wasn't too distracting for them... All in all, I would recommend the hotel for a stay. The next Packers game I go to I will head back to this hotel and town. It's a nice change from cookie cutter hotels that are the norm these days.

"Keep expectations open."
If looking for 5 star accommodations, put more gas in the tank and drive to Chicago. Ability to climb stairs a must. Upgrades are good, however, not complete restoration - a blending of original with modern concepts. That said, staff are friendly, polite, and engaging. It's nice having an attached bar, but if you desire high end aperitifs, store those in your room along with proper stemware as emitting or containing those precious vapors and nuances are imperative. If you are there to attempt to meet an aberration, download free Ghost Radar app on your smart phone as this was very applicable do to the environmental history - included free with your respite.

"Very nice"
We enjoyed our stay and the hotel has a lot of character. The only problem we had was that there was no elevator! Normally that would not be an issue, but my family was traveling with my mom who just had a knee replacement and couldn't walk up the 3 flights to our room. So....my parents couldn't check in and had to find another hotel room. Other than that, the room was beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning wasn't great, but it was ok. I think some of the staff had called off the day we were there because there was only one gentleman manning the kitchen, dining room and front desk all at the same time! Overall a nice, clean, character-filled old hotel...I would definitely stay there again!

"Nice older hotel"
When we got to the hotel it was still too early but asked if it would be ok to check in, I forgot her name but she was happy to let us check in. We checked out our room then looked in some if the other rooms. Everything was so nice! I love older homes & hotels...felt almost like a bed & breakfast. We had booked a less expensive room (very nice) but the larger corner rooms were beautiful! We had inquired about them wanting to stay in one of those on our next trip. We had left to go to some wineries & when we got back they switched our room to the larger room as a happy anniversary to us!! How nice! The bar & food staff were also exceptional!! Loved our stay!!

"Old hotel, authentic but not maintained well"
When we arrived, we had to search for someone to check us in. After we were checked in and carried our bags up two flights of stairs, the room assigned to us had the door wide open and one of the beds was broken. Back down the stairs since no one answered at the front desk. Again, we searched for the lady who checked us in and was told by her that she thought the bed had been repaired.... Who checks travelers in a room that wasn't physically inspected??? At any rate, we were moved to another room down the hall. Again, we went in since the door was wide open. The room had not been cleaned since there were pieces of lemon left on the furniture. I suppose the floor was supposed to be charming and authentic, but pieces of the floor boards were missing leaving holes in the floor - a little scary if insects crawl through. We made several passes through the lobby and never found anyone behind the front desk. Once, we had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone to help us. The lobby and common areas of this hotel are pleasing, but I would never stay in a room like that again.

"Close to Door County without the "minimum stay""
I booked this hotel during the beginning of October to see the fall colors. Every hotel in door county had a 3 night minimum stay and I didn't want to end up at a motel. If you are looking to take a leisurely ride up the lake, this is a place to consider! You will not find the amenities of a large hotel chain like an ice machine, or an elevator, but there are many pros to the Kewaunee Inn like fresh baked muffins, waffles and pancakes for your complimentary breakfast. The room was lovely with a Jacuzzi tub that we used both nights. We had 2 views of the water although the hotel is not right on the lake. It was very convenient to have a bar/restaurant in the hotel. The food was amazing! The negatives - I had to ask for towels twice after they only gave us one to share in our room. Our room was not cleaned nor was the bed made during our stay. The toilet seat had a crack in it and pinched the skin terribly. There is not much to actually do in Kewaunee so we went north each day. Beautiful scenery though. Those things seem small when you look at the overall experience. It was a cool, old building with tons of history and the local residents were so pleasant! If you are the type that doesn't need the convenience items, and are just looking to enjoy a trip up the lakefront, this is an affordable place to start.

Renovations incomplete. Rooms make no sense. Huge tubs are almost impossible to get into. No Hand rails for safety. No place to hang things up and no place to set things down. Terrible interior rooms with windows facing brick walls. Expedia doesnt tell you that for a lower price , interior is what you get. Like it or not. I loved the place but when we ordered dinner we waited 15 minutes for a server then another ten for a menu after we ordered we got our soup and salad after we were finished we waited over 45 min for our main course. The food was really good and the man at the front desk was really nice. For a 110 a night it looked better in the picture then when we got there. I feel that the place needs a remodel and needs help choosing a theme for rooms.

"Not bad"
For a place to stay on a fishing or other sporting trip it is probably great, but for one night when you just want to relax and enjoy some down time it isn't so hot. The TV remote didn't work, there were no vending machines, and no ice that we saw. We were just there for a night before the Packers game and we weren't sold on it enough to go back next time.

"Interesting but not comfortable"
Lobby was interesting and had character. Hotel is obviously old from a victorian era. The stair case is beautiful and ornate. However, no elevator required us to carry our luggage up the stairs. Room was clean but very plain and not matching the style of the lobby. Bed spread, furnishing and decorations were out dated, probably from the 80's. Uncomfortable bed, mattress was hard and the sheets did not fit the mattress. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

This wonderful, historic hotel has a quaint, idyllic setting on Kewaunee's lakefront. The rooms are comfortable, we had a picturesque view of the lighthouse, and breakfast on the porch is quite charming. But it is the attention from the friendly staff that really sets this hotel apart.

"Fun non conventional overnight"
We stayed for the first time at Kewaunee Inn which is a 100 yr. old building with character. We were fortunate to be Inn guests during an anniversary celebration so were invited to participate. Made our stay fun! Loved the large porch on the building. We did walk down to the harbor and around downtown. Too bad Kewaunee is a town with many empty buildings. The morning hot biscuits and muffins were wonderful. We did get a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, etc. but probably due to the anniversary celebration. There were small things in the room I would change if I designed it. Pedestal sink is not for women with hair care and make up products. Larger bath towels especially for men would be nice.

"Well kept classic hotel!"
The Kewaunee Inn is an older downtown hotel that has been well taken care of. The first floor has a large entry with flowers and a check-in desk, a restaurant and bar. All of the guest rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Our room was extremely clean with everything necessary for our stay. The TV was 1980 vintage, but we did not have much available time. In the morning they served fresh coffee and homemade muffins. Overall a very pleasant stay.

"Good Inn; Great Staff"
Kewaunee Inn has much to recommend it. All the staff encountered were positive, friendly, and fun to converse with. Guest rooms vary in size, views (or lack thereof), and amenities, but all are at least adequate, with nice (updated) bathrooms. Public areas are noteworthy. The bar/restaurant is small, but okay (opening late afternoon). A generous continental breakfast is served, often in the charming banquet room and including delicious muffins fresh-baked on site. Be aware that all guest rooms are on the second and third floors, with no elevator, and the front desk has limited hours. Lake Michigan is two blocks east and well worth a short stroll - especially for sunrise. Kewaunee has a beautiful historic residential district, a few impressive old downtown buildings, and a couple of tourist attractions - plus being generally prosperous and looking well maintained.

"New ownership working hard"
I selected the Kewaunee Inn online because they allow full refund cancellations up to 24 hours before the reservation (most hotels in the area don't offer this), and we needed flexibility on our travel dates due to a health situation in our family. Happily, we did not need to cancel, and we were able to stay two nights in late July at the Inn. The Kewaunee Inn was recently sold, and it is clear that the new owners are working hard to offer a pleasing experience to their guests. We had a spacious room--still in need of some minor repairs (a torn shade) but very clean and comfortable. The Kewaunee Inn has an interesting history and a lot of old fashioned charm, but its greatest asset is the friendliness of the owner and his staff. They gave us good advice about local sites and restaurants, and they were genuinely interested in our feedback about their hotel. If we are back in this area we will stay here again!

"Old style lodging"
If you are looking for a hotel from a chain (identical rooms, set up, furniture or art on the wall, this is not for you. If you are ok with traditional/oldstyle lodging, independent hotel, unique features and an historical past, you ll be fine. Not much option anyway in the town. For a stop on the way to Door country this worked out fine for us (2 adults, 2 kids).

"Nice historic building"
Our room, from what we saw of others, was one of the smallest in a lovely historic Inn that has been somewhat restored. Service was good and people were friendly, but unless one has a sense of humor about such things as variable water pressure, strongly sloping floors and a lack of practical conveniences such as shelves or tables on which to place things such as contact lenses while at the sink, this is not the place for you. On the plus side,it was a quaint little room which the owners had tried to decorate to period and the room was clean and pleasant. We did book at the last minute and probably would have enjoyed our stay more had we gotten one of the better rooms. Although this was not the best experience, I do believe that with time and continuing updates this will become a sought-after Inn in which to stay.

"Very worn out hotel."
The hotel did have a lot of atmosphere but the rooms were not very clean. Nylon sheets on the bed. The bathroom floor was full of hair. Bath tub needed a good scrub. Breakfast was put out the night before. They did give us hot water for tea at night which was very nice of them. To celebrate my 70th birthday and my grandson's 10th, I wanted a new experience for all of us so I chose this historic hotel for its age, authenticity, and stories. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff accommodating and really passionate about preserving the past. The grand piano was an immediate attraction to the boys, they even enjoyed having to use the stairs. The creaks in the hardwood flooring adds to its charm. Improving every day I know it will be a success. We were not there for the fishing, but to explore Door County for three nights. We loved it and we're fairly particular.
