First room they gave me, the AC was not working. We had a late check in. I had to ask to upgrade my room. He was like, "Other than the AC, is there anything else wrong with your room?" Gee, it smells like mildew, I found a bug in my bathroom, plus this hotel apparently had been another hotel but they never upgraded it. "Not what I expected, will not return"
I have 3 children and had made reservation for a suites to have room for all kids to sleep, but upon arrival I was only able to get a 2 queen bed room, no additional sofa for the extra kid to sleep in. Our room was right by the maid's cleaning area so we heard a washing machine for hours, The bathroom was yucky. The tub had to be 25 years old and was dingy and peeling. "Very Unsatisfied and Unsatifactory"
My hotel stay with my family was not at all what we expected and the room was not comfortable or updated. I cannot express the overall disappointment and irritation it caused my family. The cleanliness of the hotel was poor, the hallway had a terrible odor, the room had old furniture and a pullout bed that sank when my kids slept on it, the so-called […] "kitchennette" was old and stood up to my chest, the bedroom door was sticking and when it was closed the front door would shake, several amenities in the hotel were inoperable, including the bathtub which did not drain properly. The safety of the hotel was also of a concern. The door leading to the back parking lot did not close properly and it had to be pushed all the way close. I booked the room for 5 nights but canceled my stay after the first night and looked for another hotel for me and my family the next day. The nighttime hotel staff was very helpful or friendly. When we complained of several prank knocks on the door, there was nothing done about it and was told that the front area was the only area that was being monitored and nothing else was done about it. The rating for this hotel is not a 3.9 but instead should reflect 1.5 which is consistent with the overall maintenance and appearance of the hotel and rooms. We had a late check-in after a fun filled day at Six Flags. We were all eager to take a shower but found out quickly that the tub was clogged up. "Very happy with our stay"
We stayed at this hotel due to missing our connecting flight to Punta Cana and had to take the next flight the following morning. I found this hotel on the hotels.com phone application and it was quick and easy to make a reservation and pay for the room all at once. I then called the hotel for the shuttle to pick us up from the airport. It was nice […] not to have to take a taxi. Once we arrived, the front desk staff was amazing! We did have to pay an early check in fee of $15 since it was not 3pm, but we were tired so we did. The front desk attendant gave us coupons for area restaurants and also made our shuttle reservation for the next morning to take us back to the airport. The hotel is not a 5 star by any means, but the room was comfortable and they provided a shuttle to the mall. They also had a area with a desktop computer and printer with internet access so that I could print our new travel documents. They had hot and cold options for breakfast and cookies in the lobby the night before. I have no complaints regarding our stay, in pinch, and for a short stay...we would stay here again. The room was very comfortable, despite being located right next to the check-in reception desk. This kept us and our kids from going to sleep for awhile. Definitely wouldn't recommended this location for early morning flights just in case this happens to you, as it did to us. We definitely had some cranky kids on our 5:00 a.m. flight. The one thing that will keep us from EVER returning to this hotel is the side door we entered the hotel through. After our initial check-in, the concierge suggested we park on the side of the hotel and use the corresponding entrance because it was closer to our room and easier. Yeah...for us and anyone else who wanted to come through in the side door that night. Security is definitely lacking and (in my book) that is the # 1 determining factor when booking any room. "Truly Poor Hotel"
This was probably my worst experience ever at a hotel. If I hadn't arrived so late (I arrived at 1:30 am), I would have left to find a different hotel. In the hotel, the carpet and bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned well, the room had an odd stench, and the carpeted area near the air conditioner was damp. "Broken A/C and Refrigerator"
Arrived and it was 75 degrees in room. Room wouldn't cool and temperature continued to rise. Refrigerator was broken and we needed it to keep medicine in. Reported A/C issue at front desk when left around 4, because room was now at 77 degrees. Came back around 12:30 a.m. and it was at 78. Contacted from desk to see if it had been checked. Was told he […] saw where I had reported it, but couldn't tell if anyone looked at it. Said he could let me know in the morning! When checking out in the morning I told them again about the A/C and that it was 78 in room. They said, "Oh that's terrible!" Needless to see, neither of us slept well because there was no air movement. I reported it to the hotels email when I returned, but haven't heard from anyone. "Canceled flights needed hotel"
At about 10pm, on Monday June 9, 2014 I called the Country Inn and asked how late their hotel shuttle ran. I was told 11:00pm. After the flight we were # 27 & 28 on the wait-list was delayed to 11:25pm, my wife and I went on-line and booked a non-refundable room at this hotel via Expedia. This was about 10:10pm. I then called the hotel for a pick up […] and was told sorry, the hotel shuttle was booked. After protesting, I was told that it was making one last run to the airport at 10:30pm and that the shuttle would pick us up at about 10:45pm. I was warned that their computers were down and that I could still check in, get a room and settle up in the morning. Upon arrival, the computers came back up and we were able to get checked in and off to our room. The lobby area and the hallways looked tired and drab in spite of the bright carpeting. The room seemed clean enough, but it looked dated and uninviting. My wife cannot stand a firm, hard bed, and thankfully this was firm but not so firm that it was hard and stiff as a board. My wife said it was comfortable - a plus for the hotel. Personally I was disappointed as I thought that a Country Inn & Suites was a higher class hotel - more along the lines of a Hampton Inn. "Worst hotel stay We've ever had"
When we checked in the toilet was stopped up. We called the desk, they sent a very young man with a plunger. He tried to hand it to us through the door, we told him we never used the toilet, it was stopped when we got there. He looked in the tank, said it was that flapper thing and said it was ok.
