"Great location, sufficient place to sleep at night"
needed a place in Portland and near the airport, on a budget. Good location, felt safe the entire time and walking distance to points of interest, the waterfront, etc. Right across from PSU and transit stop, some noise from that but not bad for an urban area. Condition of room seemed a little run down, not a real clean feeling on first impression but […] for the price and location on short notice, not bad at all. limited, very tight free parking underneath hotel. front desk guy was friendly and polite, hotel just needs a remodel in my opinion. We were on a college visit with our teenaged kids. This hotel was in the perfect location, close to trains and busses. There is a pizza shop next door, which was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, inside the hotel was quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"location and price"
Basic cleanliness of both room/hotel was ok but mold on seals in single pane room windows and seeing two roaches was a downer. Some channels came in fuzzy on tv but being located to so many S.W. Portland locations is a plus. Limited amenities and parking, but it kinda makes it up with location an price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great find in the downtown area"
This is a great place to stay and is near public transportation, coffee shops, food, and it is right downtown. Very clean and the rooms are comfortable. I rented 2 rooms and both were great and my friend appreciated being in the downtown area for such an economical cost. We had a wonderful stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"DO NOT STAY HERE!"
Nasty You should have a field agent check this one out. Dirty old single pain windows terrible parking cold except for reception desk area. Motel 6 is better. Do not stay there and please take this one off of your listings. DO NOT STAY HERE! I checked out 2 days early and lost 200 dollars but did not care it was that bad. "very good hotel"
It was a great hotel, close to downtown and psu. The room was very comfortable. The only thing that I did not like is that the staff were not friendly. In addition, the hotel does not serve breakfast. In general, I definitely recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome location! Awful hotel."
Cigarette burns on the bedspread. Tape on the cracked windows. Sheets older than time. Lukewarm water in a shower you won't want to use anyway! BUT- a safe hotel with amazing location for the price. Friendly staff. I wouldn't stay here again but it didn't kill me.Genuine Expedia guest review
I booked over a week in advance and the room was not ready, as in cleaned when we arrived. There was visible dirt on the floors and the table had sticky spots and had not been washed. The mattress of the bed I occupied, had the "sway back" effect and was quite uncomfortable. I would not reccommend this hotel and would not choose to stay there again. On […] top of all of the above, I found it to be way overpriced. No discount, such as AAA or ARUP, was accepted. That would have taken a little of the edge off of the condition of the room. We stayed there for 4 nights and asked for maid service on the 3rd day, we were left with no washcloths, and the floor had even more dirt after the "servicing". Sincerely, Marcia F. nice and helpful workers, clean rooms with all we needed, close to the school . great experience over all.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Looking for a little more."
Great location. The room was average. It hadn't been painted for some time and needed it. The shower had lukewarm water, but never hot. When we asked about the hot water, the desk person just advised us how to turn the knob on the shower, however, his "trick" never produced hot water. The price was the saving grace of the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"not worth the price"
There is very limited parking at the hotel so we had to park on the street. The towels were old and threadbare. Their pillows were lumpy and the carpet smelled. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but not enough for me to stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was in town to see John Oliver @ the Keller Auditorium. This hotel was within walking distance. Had free parking, which was great. This is an older hotel, but room was clean and the bed was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for traveling student"
Clean rooms and cheap price but right beside to light rail and bus lines so it's noisy at night. High rating due to location and price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Highly recommend booking elsewhere"
The people at the hotel were nice. The hotel room was pretty uncomfortable. Didn't see any bed bug signs, but the room was very dirty looking and feeling. Stained mattress, stained blankets, uncomfortable bed, dirty carpets, low water pressure, and shower felt pretty gross. I'm not sure how we managed to stay five nights, but we survived. Perfect location! I'll stay there again for sure. The staff was very nice. The rooms were adequate, nothing special but they did have a microwave & small fridge. A coffee make would make a nice addition. The streetcar went right in front of the motel & the max line was on the corner. Psu was on the corner also. "Not bad if you dont mind the noise from pizzeria."
Need to change the old windows to a sound proof one, cause the students make to much noise when drinking on pizzeria/bar downstairs.Genuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed it. Everything worked and it was clean. TV reception not the best, but serviceable. Not the hottest water and slow to warm. But the location is terrific. Next door to Portland State. A 5 minute walk from Broadway. Transit stops around the corner. Great pizza and beer in the same building. Food across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Three floors and NO elevator. Lugging baggage up 2 flights of narrow stairs is no fun. Furnishings are badly dated. Bedside table marred by cigarette burns.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was really nice. I was in town to run the marathon and they let me check out late. The location is great, all you need is within walking distance. The rooms have the basics but could use some updating and a thorough cleaning... There was a weird smell in the room. The bathroom was very basic too and was pretty dirty. The hotel wasn't bad for the price I paid. It's walking distance from the Pearl District - I didn't have to take a cab once! Downfalls were in parking - I had to pay at a meter because the hotel parking lot only holds about ten cars. Additionally, the toilet in my room was broken and the shower was a little dirty. "Good location seedy hotel"
Close to downtown, construction outside on road made access difficult. No amenities. Plumbing in sink backwards. Room needs paint. Clock was stowed in drawer. No tissues. Low price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You pay for what you get."
This hotel has no parking, especially for cars that are over the compact size. My shower only provided cold water, you turn the faucet on and it gets warm but when changed to shower it was cold. Great location, hotel needs to be repaired. Broken light switches, broken shower spouts, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap downtown hotel, for a reason..."
Heavy construction going on 24 hrs/day. Upon arrival, were offered room at their other hotel miles away, but opted to tough it out, due to family living 4 blocks away. Had we known prior to arriving, would have booked room at other hotel close by. Room was clean. No elevator. Lugged 4 bags up to 3rd floor. Most annoying was room wasn't made up second […] day of stay, even though maid service card left on door. Same thing next day. Was told at 5:45pm that maid was still working and could still clean it, but had to leave at 6. Had to get ready for dinner out, so had to skip maid service for 2nd day in row... All in all, guess we got what we paid for. Stay here only if you have low expectations and need a cheap room downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The room was mediocre but, the service was beyond unexceptable. The front desk staff was very unacomadating when we arrived early to see if we could chk in. "Good location, but uncomfortable stay"
Stayed here for five nights. The hotel does not have an elevator so it was quite the challenge to lug my heavy bag all the way up the stairs to the top floor. The room we got was clean enough, the window was held together with tape which was funny at the time, and the bathroom door just barely cleared the toilet. Our room was immediately above the […] downstairs Pizza Schmizza so the hallway was always hot due to the pizza ovens and smelled like pizza. Mmmm... The back staircase led straight into the pizza place, which was convenient for grabbing a beer and hanging out with Pete the pizza guy. I really was enjoying my stay here until after the weekend because at around 7am Monday morning, we were woken up to KA-CHUNK KA-CHUNK KA-CHUNK. There was construction going on immediately outside our window with jackhammers and a bobcat. Now, I know this is nothing the hotel can control, but it still made our stay uncomfortable as you can't really get to sleep until after 2am due to people hanging outside the bar down below, and then you can't sleep past 7am due to jackhammers. But it did get us up and going bright and early so that's a plus I guess. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Downtown Value Inn"
Best feature - close to Tri-Met station. Hotel shabby and dated, with no amenities. Didn't expect much for price, but did expect a little better. The man at check-in was very accommodating about parking - one of few hotels in Portland that don't charge for parking; however number of spaces very limited. There was no way to indicate when making reservation […] that handicap access needed. I'm on crutches due to injury, and had to negotiate a flight of stairs - kind of precarious. Everything was excellent and in great shape except for the TV, which was very old and only a few channels came in well. However, there was a fridge in each room, which is very nice. "Great Customer Service"
The room wasnt bad for the price. I loved the location and the people at the front desk. A very basic hotel, but thats all I needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is good. The room smells weird but for the price it is OK. The underground parking has weird rectangular shaped pillars so if your parking skills are just so-so, don't risk scratching your carGenuine Expedia guest review
The location was excellent and the price wasn't bad. The bad thing about this place was their tiny parking lot and that there was no elevator so we had to carry all our bags up 3 floors. Besides that, rooms were clean. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It is what it is"
This seems like a place parents or friends stay while visiting the university. Nothing special about it at all. Could use a renovation. The price was right and the location was decent for exploring Portland. The staff were all extremely nice. Overall a 3 our of 5 for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable motel between downtown and PSU campus"
As far as motels go, this place was overall solid. Rooms were pretty clean and beds were surprisingly comfortable. By far the most affordable place on the weekend we went. The only thing to take note of is that the description says free onsite parking, but the spaces are limited and first come first served. There are not enough spaces for everyone so […] we ended up having to wake up to move the car every day from street parking to paid lot parking across the street. "Affordable place for a short stay near Downtown"
The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for: a cheap place to sleep while enjoying Portland. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and the hot water and AC unit worked nicely. They did only have one key per room, though, which made it difficult since there were 4 of us. Also, the parking lot was a bit of a joke. Very […] few spots and the ramp out of the lot is so steep our car bottomed out twice. There were other (paid) parking lots nearby. The location was good, not really in the heart of Downtown, but the MAX train runs right in front of the hotel and some attractions and shopping are definitely within walking distance. Overall I would stay here again, but probably not for more than a couple nights. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great cheap motel"
This motel is part motel and part hostel. For the inexpensive rate I paid, I think it was just fine. It was right next to the Portland State campus and many bus and light rail lines. There were great places to eat nearby. The staff were nice and assisted pleasantly. Despite its proximity to public transportation, with the AC on, the noise never bothered […] me. Some things I didn't consider before going: I'd need a $5 cash deposit for key and no in-room coffee maker. Also, there was no hairdryer, but they gave me one as soon as I asked. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but then I didn't pay for the Ritz Carlton. If you're on a tight budget, this place is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel. Good location downtown."
Decent hotel close to downtown activities and right on bus route.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It had good and bad points"
Nice comfortable room. Not much for parking but it is after all downtown Portland. There wasn't a sink stopper because it was being used as the bathroom door hinge pin and the toilet was in need of some repairs. Other than that. it was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
There is almost no warm water so the shower was a trickle. There was only one bath towel. The room is loud and it was hard to sleep. It was old and outdated, but also had unnecessary things unpainted or fixed, which is fine for a good price but along with the other things seemed annoying. The housekeeping seemed fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel room was decent but hot water ran out mid-shower. There was no elevator so that was an issue. On our last day we asked if we could keep our luggage stowed away while we visited the sites before our flight and was told no. This meant that we had to haul our luggage around everywhere we went.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location for low rate"
Great location to downtown. Took MAX from airport and stop just a block away, and could walk everywhere. "Reserve at your own risk!"
First time to Portland. Wanted to stay in a location that was near a train stop and walking distance to restaurants. Well, we got what we asked for: 1) Train stop was RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW, and 2) The restaurants were all walking distance. Staying at this hotels was not worth the "deal" that we thought it would be -- Hard to close your eyes and night […] and sleep when there's rusty bathroom lights, stained toilet seats and floors and walls that smell of stale smoke. In desperation, we bought an aromatic candle to burn at night to cope with the smells. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
