"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Great price. Very nice room."
We got this room through hotels.com at a very reasonable price at the last minute. Quick check in. Very helpful staff. Lovely room. Clean and neat. Crisp sheets and soft towels. Free parking in their garage. Very quiet, no road noise. Would definitely stay their again. Oh...and they sell alcohol in the lobby! Yeah!

"best value for visiting NYC"
This place was exactly what I was looking for!! The ONLY negative: finding this Hilton was a challenge - I suggest studying satellite images of the property prior to arriving. The friendly and knowledgeable hotel staff was expert at explaining public transportation between hotel and NYC. Busses ($5 round trip) ran on time, every 30min or so, all through […] the night - traveling from an easy to find spot 10min walk from the hotel to the super-convenient Port Authority bus terminal in NYC. The QUIET, PRIVATE hotel room was very CLEAN, bed was super- COMFORTABLE. Pool with hot tub was a nice extra (wish it was open past 10pm). Hardly a chance to appreciate the microwave, frig, and tv. Thanks for the Free Parking too. Nice water pressure in the shower, free coffee yadda yadda. I did not get to enjoy the breakfast ($11/person charge), but instead found the best brunch ever just 5min drive away in Hoboken (Turning Point). I will definitely be staying here again! Read more
"Great stay!"
We intended to stay at a hotel (of a different chain and not booked through Hotels.com) for three nights, but checked out after the first night due to the unfriendly service, non-working amenities and size of room. Our experience with Hilton, which was in very close proximity and price to the original hotel, was the exact opposite. We had a great experience […] from the initial booking all the way through checkout. All of the staff always had a smile and time to address any needs. They were friendly, helpful and personable. The entire hotel was clean, comfortable and roomy. I would recommend this location to anyone. Read more

"Hilton - Secaucus - Close to NYC - Beautiful room!"
I recently stayed at the Hilton and why the road signage is awful, this isn't anything the hotel can do about. The property is not surrounded by anything appealing but if you are staying for convenience and Hilton cleanliness, this is your hotel. The hotel is super close to the Lincoln Tunnel and the rooms are fantastic. The one thing that was a let […] down was the lack of a continental breakfast. You can pay $ for their breakfast, which looks yummy, but if you just want something quick and continental-like, you wont get it here. Overall, great place, definitely would stay here again! "Hilton Garden - a hotel close to NYC"
We booked at this hotel because we spent Thanksgiving Day in New York City and wanted a place to stay that night. Booked ahead of time with no problem. Good price, the place was very nice, bed and bedding was luxurious and comfy. Wasn,t really in walking distance of many restaurants but we ordered a meal to be delivered. The menus were available at […] the desk. Reasonable food prices. Inside Swimming pool and hot tub was available but I forgot my suit. I would highly recommend staying here. Read more
Very nice, clean hotel, staff very helpfull and friendly. I'll recommend that hotel to others, close to Manhattan.
"good value if you don't mind tricky location"
It is a bit hard to drive to it until you really study the map carefully. Route 3 *Service Road*. If you have no car, you can walk to the shopping area in about 10 min. Other hotels are in that area, but cost a bit more for similar quality.
"Last Minute Overnight Stay"
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night due to a power outage in our complex. We only lived about 7 miles from this hotel, but I suppose it's in an ideal location for people traveling to Manhattan who don't want to pay Manhattan hotel prices. Parking was free (a plus!) check-in went quickly, lobby was a decent size with a fireplace that wasn't […] on. Our room had a king size bed with a desk and chair in the corner, plenty of room for 2 people. Flat screen tv was appreciated after recently staying in another hotel with an old tv! There was a mini fridge in the room, a coffee maker, a blow dryer, and Neutragena products in the bathroom. While my boyfriend watched football, I decided I'd go to the "fitness room" for a quick workout before going for dinner. I walked in and could have vomited because the 12' x 14' space had ZERO ventilation and it smelled like the worst smelling sneaker you can imagine, the mirrors were covered as if the room was a sauna, and the equipment literally had condensation on it, with puddles on the treadmill!!! The pool looked like it hadn't been touched in 6 months. It was very small, with a 3 foot and 5 foot area, with a hot tub attached. I could not believe those two areas looked the way they did. A little maintenance would have gone a long way! In the morning I thought breakfast was included in our stay, so we each grabbed a bagel and I made coffee (that turned out being lukewarm) and my bf was handed a check before we walked out. I'm not sure how much it was, maybe $8, but had I known it wasn't included, I would've simply eaten a piece of fruit i had in my bag. This hotel is perfect for room use only. If you are looking to make use of an indoor pool or gym, do NOT stay here! Read more

"Hotel was nice....but location was a bit strange"
I found the hotel to be very nice and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. However, it was difficult finding the hotel. When we asked the desk for recommendations of restaurants, they were very helpful. However, they neglected to give accurate directions - or we misunderstood. It looked as if we were in the middle of a freeway...that we had […] to cross, walk a rather large, inadequately lit, road/hill and cross the freeway to get to the plaza that had all of the restaurants. However, once there, it had plenty to offer. A cab ride would have cost $20 or so. The walk was not bad, once we realized where we had to go - but think that there should be better signage for direction. Read more
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They provided us with information on how to get around the area including the bus schedules. We were extremely pleased with the room and the comfort of the beds.

"Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands"
Would not recommend. It's location was tough to get to. There was a warehouse right outside of our window with fluorescent lights so bright that our curtains couldn't entirely block the light. The breakfast is NOT complimentary. You'll end up paying an arm and a leg for a small muffin and a kid size box of cereal. Sould've stayed at the Hyatt. Would […] not recommend. Read more

Great hotel, just a quick bus ride to the city. Great value! Everyone there was really helpful.
"nice hotel, not-so-great location"
We were staying in this hotel while visiting New York City. The staff were very nice, explained how to get the NJ Transit bus to and from the hotel. I was not crazy about having to cross a divided highway on the trip back from the city to the hotel! The room was very nice but breakfast at the hotel is a bit pricey and it is not in a very convenient […] spot to drive somewhere else. Read more
"Positives and Negatives"
The hotel is new and clean. There is a great breakfast area in the lobby with a buffet and a limited cook to order menu. The staff is very friendly. The rooms were of good size and clean with the exception noted in the negatives. On the negative side, this is a non-smoking hotel. When I checked in, my room smelled like there had been people smoking […] in there for days. I alerted the staff and they reacted quickly by bringing up a machine to remove the odor. This should have been discovered before I brought it to their attention. I had also noted on my reservation with Hotels.com that my wife and child had a feather allergy. I was assured that this would be conveyed to the hotel, however there would be no guarentee that the hotel would make the accommodation. The hotel said that this information was never communicated to them. Again, they reacted quickly and changed the feather pillows. Lastly, our second night there was cold and the air conditioning in the room would not shut off. The hotel did not have a maintenance staff on duty and we had to move our room. Very incinvenient even though they put us in a suite and we stayed both nights for free. I gave this hotel four stars because even though there were negative issues, the staff did react quickly and tried to make things right. The zero balance on our bill went a long way toward forgivness. Read more
"Hilton Garden Inn"
It was a great hotel and convenient to the city with the availability of the bus stop at the hotel as well as information given at check-in. The only two issues we had were most of the jets in the spa did not work and the tiles were pretty dirty around the pool and upon arriving at the hotel, after driving for eight hours, the receptionist was not kind […] in telling us that our room was not ready and that we would have to wait for an hour and half. We were extremely tired from the drive and knew that we were early but a little bit of empathy would have helped us feel better about the experience upon arriving. For the price and the location it was worth it and we would stay there again. Read more
"Convenient place"
I stayed with my family for one night and it was a nice place. What I liked about the hotel was that there were buses running to Times square and the stop was right in front of the hotel. It might be hard for some people to find it using a GPS, Try using "Rt 3" instead of "State Route 3" in the address listed on their website. Overall it is a nice place […] to stay. Arun Read more
"Non Smoking-NOT"
Everything about the hotel was fine, except for one thing, and this is a BIG exception. The hotel claims to be non-smoking, but my room had obviously been smoked in. A LOT. It was pretty disgusting. Unfortunately I checked in after midnight and didn't have the energy to fight for a different room.
"Hilton Garden Inn in Secaucus, NJ"
The hotel was nice. The room was very comfortable. The location could have been better. The next time, I would stay in the hotel located in Manhattan instead of the one in NJ. The staff was friendly. Overall, it was good
"Great Place to Stay!"
I have never been dissatisfied with Hilton Garden Inn. Love the access to the bus for going into Manhattan...love the free parking at the hotel...great service, friendly people, nice atmosphere.
"Pleasant and clean"
Absolutely pleasant stay! An initial problem (a smokey-smelling non-smoking room) was handled promptly and professionally. And the fresh cookies are a plus! I will return on my next trip to Secaucus.
"Dissatisfied"
Very disappointed with the location, the directions to get there with a gps are impossible. The location to the expo center is not ideal. We went down for continental breakfast but it was $8.50 a person! Will not stay here again.
"Hilton Garden Inn"
We have a great time. The hotel was clean, the hotel staff was extremely accomodating, and the cookies were delicious!
"Untimely maintenance work"
This was our second time staying at this hotel. We stayed there while attending a conference in New York City. Last year, we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the close proximity to the city and a comfortable double room. This time around, they put us on a floor that was scheduled for carpet removal and installation both Friday and Saturday. Not […] only was it unsightly, it was also noisy and the chemicals they used were so toxic we had to hold our breath to cross the hallway. I even got my shoes stuck in their glue! Definitely not coming back ever again. Read more
"Hilton in Secaucus"
This hotel was beautiful, homey, well maintained, and had a very personable staff. Getting around New Jersey, however, was an awful experience. My husband and I wanted to go to the movies at the theatre we could see from the hotel room and ended up driving around for over an hour lost.

"my GPS was right"
Let's talk about the hotel itself first. Check-in was quick, staff was courteous. The general area is clean. Didn't get to use amentifies (saw gym and pool) as we had a really quick overnight stay. Breakfast was included in a small dining area, too bad I was in a rush, only got to refill coffee. Parking is a-plenty: there's a 4 or 5-story garage right […] next to the hotel building; each floor can park at least 10-15 cars. Self-parking, but the job is quite effortless. Room: feels very clean and comfortable. Comfy bed (firm!), fluffy pillows. Bathroom is well lit and well-equipped; that shower head is FANTASTIC (has this massage-like pulse mode--definitely try it out!), water pressure is not super strong but quite ok. On top of the usual coffee maker & etc, there's also a microwave and an empty mini fridge for your perusal-- a nice touch for long-distance travelers. Now, location-- I've read previous user reviews about GPS being misguiding in the area, which is not surprising given NJ roadworks and the destination area being right off the "clover" on-off ramp. So we came from the north via Route 1/9, made a left on Paterson Plank Rd, then off-ramp onto Route 3 South. Now, right when you entered R3, there's an immediate exit pointing to (if I remember correctly) North Bergen or what not, at the same time your GPS is telling you to take the exit. DON'T. Coz that one brings you right back to Paterson Plank Rd on the opposite direction--which was what happened to us. So, skip that first immediate exit w/a green sign as you enter R3, and keep going straight although the road side above your head is telling you that you're heading toward I-95, 495, and all that craziness. Don't worry. Few hundred feet later, you'll see a smaller sign w/the hotel logo on your right. Take that, and you will have arrived. Aside from the little confusion and "excitement" entering the hotel, I find my way out pretty darn convenient. The on-ramp to highway is right off the hotel exit, and 5 mi Read more
"Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Middle-of-Nowhere"
Pretty nice hotel for the price. We appreciated the microwave and fridge and very comfy beds. Everyone at reception was helpful and competent with ONE exception who could not tell us anything about transportation from the bus stop RIGHT outside the hotel. He also didn't bother to call our room when our taxi was waiting outside. Also, getting from the […] city to the hotel on public transportation is dicey. After crossing a busy intersection you either have to walk in the road (which the hotel tells you not to do) or walk on the sidewalk which is currently covered in more than a foot of snow. Yeah... we took the road. Read more
"Good value for my money"
Clean and comfortable I would recommend this hotel.
"Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands"
Convenient, pleasant, clean, well staffed, just an overall job to stay in this hotel. Have stayed in only one other Hilton and that was in New Orleans. This hotel (other than the gambling right across the street) beat that hotel for overall comfort and Customer Service.
"Hilton Garden Inn - Secaucus (Don't use your GPS)"
This hotel's address is Paterson Plank Road. However, it is actually located on Route 3. Our GPS steered us wrong, and we had a lot of difficulty finding the actual entrance. Also, the breakfast is not complimentary.... be aware of this. (We weren't.) All in all, however, the hotel was clean and comfortable.
"overall, this is a good hotel."
Generally, this hotel was good. The room was clean and comfortable, Microwave and refriger was very convinient. But, as many people said, it was too difficult to find this hotel. The GPS doesn't know that exact address.

"OK hotel for the area and rates"
The hotel was fine as far as amenities go. Don't expect room service or an extra roll away bed in rooms with king beds, although there was a sofa bed in the small living room. The pluses were several - free internet in the room; nice business room with computers and printers; free parking; and a snack bar or pavilion with reasonable prices for sundries […] and snacks. "Hard to find."
I used my GPS to locate the hotel and it had me on the right road but on the wrong side of the highway. I called the hotel and a very helpful young woman gave me directions to a nearby Home Depot from which I was able to find the hotel. The sinage for the holtel at the roadway level is very small and easy to miss. Other than difficulty with the location […] I was more than satisfied with the accomodations and service. Read more

"Wonderful hotel, but hard to get there"
The hotel was great! The only bad part about it was the first time finding it. The bus to the city came right outside the hotel, and the walk after being dropped off was not too bad. The staff was very nice and accommodating
"Hotel was very clean and nice"
We, 4 students in a 1-day visit to New York City, were very satisfied with the condition, cleanliness, and facilities, at the hotel. We used car to go to the City. Lincoln tunnel is not that convenient, specially during the rush hour. But, if you escape the rush hour the location of the hotel is good. We used the pool and it was fun. If I want to visit […] New York again, I will choose this hotel unless I find a good one near a train station. going back and forth to Manhattan is easier with train. Read more
"Very convenient"
The woman at the desk was charming and very helpfull. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool is small but nice and clean.Great location. A NJ bus can pick you up right in front of the hotel: 10 minutes (and $2.55) later, you're at thePort Authority. One caveat: don't trust your GPS, as it will bring you on the wrong side of the road, opposite […] the hotel. Read more
"Nice enough, but poor location"
I was pleased enough with the hotel itself, but compared to other hotels in the area it is not very convenient to nearby food and shopping in Harmon Meadow plaza. Aside from the Dominican restaurant that shares its parking lot, eating out involves a bit of a hike. Finding the hotel is quite a trick too. We passed by it 4 or 5 times before finally figuring […] out how to get there! Read the driving directions, don't just try to wing it, as I generally do, or you'll find yourself quite frustrated. The hotel staff, like every HGI's, was wonderful. The breakfast selections were excellent, including fresh fruit and food to order. Oh, the TVs were a bit dated, but the internet was free and fast.
